Horrible, instant headache...
The most basic feature seems to still be absent. Search. When swapping to a new spec, like leveling a mage as frost but going fire at max level, you often look for a guide and see spells from the rotation mentioned then thumb through the spell book looking for each of them to place in an appropriate slot/bind. A search feature that highlights the spell would make the process of looking through the spell book for something specific better.
What is wrong with these designers that nobody taught them about space economy? First the enormous professions tab and now this...
Nice and more modern look but it's just cosmetic while the spellbook functionality is stuck in 2004.What spellbook needs is a functional, not cosmetic update. Make the ability descriptions show what damage/healing they deal in pvp, not that you have to go and auto-attack pvp target dummy or duel a friend, and then check your spell or talent descriptions to see what is their actual value. Make cc descriptions to show their actual duration against players. Make buffs and debuffs show what is their dispel type, whether it's magic, poison, disease, curse or N/A. Add essential information about your spells IN THE GAME, not that you have to look up for information on Wowhead or other external sites, which might not always be reliable.
Hate it. Takes up way too much space, icons feels hard to read. Such an uncessary change for the sake of "modernizing".
Looks nice but why does it have to take up so much screen area?
What about some useful functions instead of just increasing the size? Search function? Group spells into offensive / defensive / hybrid / aura / buffs / dispel / passive / shapeshifts / travel? Sort / filter by cast time / max damage / mana cost?mark base abilities / talent abilites?I'm sure there are lots of things people would like, but I can't see ANY real improvement in the picture. Who benefits from this? People playing in 8K complaining about too much leftover space on their screen? :)
Interesting. I wonder how we're supposed to shift click spells into the macro interface now.
Looks really good!
Skeumorphism is back!
Same crap they did for the DF UI, flash over function. And everything must be FULL SCREEN. Ugh. And guarantee Blizzard will forgot people exist who run the game at a resolution lower than 2K and it'll be oversized and broken, just like half the UI elements in DF especially the profession pane. As-is some element are misaligned and completely shifted to one side or the other on lower resolutions.
Its a minor thing, but I hope they make the tabs look like bookmarks, also a smaller version would be nice to
Why are the icons so smol :(
+1 for "it needs a search bar"
Looks kind of boring, actually.
The best part is they won't give any option to use the old ui because they don't give a !@#$. I think this abomination is ^&*!ing disgusting and now I have to use more addons that can cause issues with the game and that break every patch to fix their mess...
spellbook in the form of a book isn't it too late for something like that? well, let's hope that we will have a better orientation in it than the one we have now
