Some of the best burst AoE in the game: With Storm Elemental’s pet ability Stormfury, Stormkeeper, Chain Lightning, and Earthquake with possible procs from the Aftershock talent.

Powerful single target burst: On short cooldowns with Stormkeeper and Storm Elemental.

Self Resurrection: With Reincarnation, useful for death skips in dungeons or getting back into the fight without burning a battle rez.

Variety of talent builds: Choose from higher mobility, more utility, or just sheer damage based on the situation at hand.

Great self sustain: Due to the 40% damage reduction on Astral Shift, Off-Healing with Healing Surge, and an additional 40% damage reduction when talented into Primal Elementalist through the pet ability Harden Skin

Emergency tanking: Earth Elemental can assist in overwhelming situations, is able to be healed, and can last up to 1 minute.

Turret style casting: Causes DPS to suffer when in high-movement situations (depending on talent build).

Few mobility options: When quick movement is needed, Ghost Wolf prevents casting.

Build up cleave: 2-3 target cleave requires some preparation.

Restrictive target swapping: Requires building resources, unless you were able to pool for the swap.

Stationary AoE: Relies heavily on targets remaining in one spot, as Earthquake is a placed ground effect with a limited radius, and becomes obsolete if targets are moved/kited out of it.

Best Races for Mythic+

Dwarf - Passive Might of the Mountain which gives 2% more crit damage, which on Elemental Shaman is very useful thanks to Elemental Fury.Stoneform is also very useful to get rid of pesky or dangerous debuffs like Severing Axe from the Aka'ali the Conqueror boss in King’s Rest while also reducing physical damage taken by 10% for its duration.

Dark Iron Dwarf - Similar to Dwarf, Dark Iron get Fireblood allowing you to remove debuffs, but also gain a measure of one of your main stats for a short amount of time. Forged in Flames and Dungeon Delver are also useful.

Pandaren- Quaking Palm can come in clutch sometimes and is useful for various situations regarding interrupts and crowd control requirements. Gaining extra stats from Epicurean is a nice bonus, and Bouncy may come in handy in specific situations.

Highmountain Tauren - Bull Rush is a very useful AoE interrupt/knockdown, which comes in handy in many situations. The added stat from Mountaineer is also useful.

Zandalari Troll - The newest addition to the Shaman races provide some pretty cool additions to the game. Regeneratin' comes in clutch sometimes when the healer needs some help and there is no passive aoe damage the caster is taking. You can also pair this with Ancestral Guidance for some nice off-healing. Embrace of Pa'ku offers a nice passive boost to our single target and AoE damage, being all around the best Embrace of the Loa passive for dungeons.

Tauren - Similar to Highmountain Tauren War Stomp can come in clutch but suffers diminishing returns along with other stun effects. Like Dwarf, Brawn adds a nice boost to damage. Nature Resistance provides a small reduction in damage, and Endurance adds a small stamina boost.

Troll - Berserking is a powerful cooldown when paired with other DPS cooldowns such as Storm Elemental. Smaller benefits like Regeneration and Da Voodoo Shuffle are also useful.

Elemental Shaman Utility

Earth Elemental - Calls forth a Greater Earth Elemental to protect you and your allies for 1 minute. This spell paired with the Primal Elementalist talent allows you to gain control of the elemental as if it were a combat pet, granting it extra abilities and becoming 80% stronger. This also allows you to essentially kite like a tank if you use a pet movement macro (/petMoveTo).

Hex - A polymorph curse effect that lasts 1 minute. This does not heal the target polymorphed, and also has a damage threshold before the CC breaks.

Capacitor Totem - Summons a totem at the target location, charging up for 2 seconds and then stunning all enemies within 8 yards for 3 seconds. The cooldown can be reduced by up to 20 seconds with the Static Charge talent.

Earthbind Totem - Summon an earth totem at the target location for 20 seconds, and slows the movement speed of enemies within 10 yards by 50%. This can also be used as a combat starter for invisible mobs such as the Shadowblade Stalker in Atal’Dazar.

Thunderstorm - An AoE knock back that sends enemies quite far. Be careful using this ability as it requires some correct positioning to not negatively affect the position the mobs end up in. The added slow is also useful when the tank calls for a knock back to help kite.

Tremor Totem - Summons an earth totem at the feet of the caster for 10 seconds, removing Fear, Charm, and Sleep effects from party and raid members within 30 yards. This is useful on bosses like Rezan in Atal’Dazar and King Dazar in King's Rest.

Wind Shear - Interrupts the target's spell casting and prevents any spell in that school from being cast for 3 seconds. Not only is this a 30 yard ranged interrupt, but it also has the lowest interrupt cooldown in the game at 12 seconds.

Purge - Purges the enemy target, removing 1 beneficial magic effect. This dispel is spammable, limited only by your mana pool.

Bloodlust - Our most well known spell. Increases Haste by 30% for all party and raid members for 40 seconds.

Earthquake - This spell's knockdown effect does not contribute to the diminishing returns for other CC spells and can knock down almost all enemy units within dungeons except for mini bosses and some elites. The "knockdown" effect an prevent un-interruptible spells from being cast.

Frost Shock - A single target spell that slows the target by 50% for 6 seconds.

Ancestral Spirit - Resurrects a fallen ally, restoring them to life with 35% maximum health and mana. Cannot be cast when in combat.

Healing Surge - A quick surge of healing energy that restores health to a friendly target.

Ancestral Guidance - Talented ability. For 10 seconds, 25% of your damage and healing is converted to healing on up to 3 nearby injured party or raid members. This talent paired with strong AoE and single target damage can result in a large amount of off-healing.

Cleanse Spirit - Removes all curse effects from a friendly target.

Astral Shift - Reduces the damage you take by 40% for 8 seconds.

Wind Rush Totem - Talented ability. Summons a totem at the target location for 15 sec, granting all allies who pass within 10 yards 60% increased movement speed for 5 seconds.

TalentsElemental Shaman Talent Guide

Earthen Rage - This talent is a solid choice, as it offers a boost to both single target and pure AoE situations in comparison to the other two options on this tier.

Echo of the Elements - With recent changes to the Azerite trait Igneous Potential, this talent has become far more powerful in single target and cleave instances. Powerful enough to consider using in mythic plus and create synergy with other talents. Consider using this talent with 2 or more Igneous Potential traits.

Aftershock - This talent out-performs Totem Mastery when pushing high keys and the tank is pulling larger groups of mobs (ie. 4+). As of Season Two with the new Reaping affix this talent is the go to. There is a notable difference when using this talent in dungeons above 16+.

Totem Mastery - This talent is best for specific instances such as pugging lower keys 9-15 with little communication and the tank not pulling more than 2-3 mobs at a time. We should also take this talent into consideration on non-Teeming, Tyrannical affixes in King's Rest and Temple of Sethraliss for more boss damage if needed.

Static Charge - This talent is optimal because it shortens Capacitor Totem's cooldown. This comes in very handy for some boss timers spawning adds such as Raal the Glutonous in Waycrest Manor and Yazma(link) in Atal’Dazar.

Spirit Wolf - Pick this talent if you feel that you need more defensive spells or are uncomfortable with having one less damage reduction.

Master of the Elements - Again like Echo of the Elements, with the change to Igneous Potential Master of the Elements has become a more powerful talent by proxy. Giving Elemental Shaman a bigger damage boost to our weakest combat instance. This instance being 2-3 target cleave. Empowering our other abilities like Earthquake or Chain Lightning in a cleave instance is very powerful and if used properly can produce some impressive numbers. This talent gives up great sustained single target damage as well.

Storm Elemental - Since 8.1 with the Lightning Bolt 40% damage buff, the result indirectly buffed Storm Elemental, making our single target burst much stronger as well as the elemental's AoE damage already being strong with Stormfury. When compared to Liquid Magma Totem, the difference is the longer cooldown but the damage will always follow the target that it has been cast on. In comparison, Liquid Magma Totem is stationary and easily out-ranged by the tank kiting. Consider taking this talent if your tank is pulling big packs and/or you are running the essence Vision of Perfection Minor Trait.

Ancestral Guidance - Offers a strong off-healing option for a class that can output high DPS. Pair this ability with Storm Elemental’s Stormfury and Stormkeeper AoE burst for optimal use. If cooldowns are not up but off-healing is still needed, pairing AG with Healing Surge spam can be effective as well.

Nature's Guardian) - Useful for dungeons that have spiky damage and Ancestral Guidance is needed less. Examples being King's Rest and Temple of Sethraliss. Some of the bosses and trash mobs in those dungeons have high DoT damage and Nature's Guardian can be more effective.

Primal Elementalist - This talent adds quite a lot to our kit in the added damage from Storm Elemental and strong utility we get from Primal Earth Elemental. Girants us an additional 40% damage reduction and off-tanking capabilities.

Icefury - This talent is very situational, depending on your group composition and the dungeon/affixes for the week. If your group needs more priority single target damage on bosses and those bosses have high movement mechanics, consider running this talent. Examples scenarios to consider using this talent are: Tyrannical weeks, Temple of Sethraliss, The Underrot, Atal'Dazar, Siege of Boralus, Kings' Rest.

Stormkeeper - This talent is currently our strongest on the tier, providing both optimal single target and AoE burst on a short cooldown in one spell. This talent excels even in high movement situations, as casts for Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning become instant. This talent also helps to build Maelstrom quickly in order to drop down Earthquake, reducing AoE build-up time drastically.

Azerite TraitsOuter Rings

Igneous Potential - Your Lava Burst deals additional damage, and your Lava Surge chance is increased to 18%. You Pretty much want 3 of these Traits at all times.

Undulating Tides - Your damaging spells and abilities have a chance to crash a wave upon your target for 4306 Frost damage. Also, When your health drops below 50%, gain a shield absorbing 33764 damage within 8 sec. When this occurs, Undulating Tides cannot trigger again for 45 sec. This is an all around decent trait just do to its passive damage but also it can very well save your life with the damage absorption if you get in a sticky situation.

Blightborne Infusion - Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant a large amount of crit for 14 seconds. This is currently one of our best traits to bring into M+.

Treacherous Covenant - Your Primary stat is increased by X while you are above 50% health. You also take 15% increased damage while you are below 20% health.

Tectonic Thunder - Your Earthquake spell deals X Physical damage instantly, and has a 25% chance to make your next Chain Lightning instant cast.

Natural Harmony - Dealing Fire, Nature, or Frost damage grants a stat for 12 seconds based on the spell school used. For Fire it's crit, for Nature it's haste, and for Frost it's mastery. An easily maintainable buff to keep up, making it strong in both AoE and single target situations, Currently it’s not worth keeping the mastery buff up.

Swirling Sands - Your spells and abilities have a chance to grant a large amount of crit for 12 seconds, your critical effects extend the buff by 1 second, up to a maximum duration of 18 seconds.

Middle Ring

Overwhelming Power - Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant a large amount of stacking buffs of Haste for 25 seconds, diminishing by 1 stack every second. A very good trait for Elemental Shamans as haste is a useful stat for us.

Unstable Flames - Damaging abilities have a chance to grant additional crit for 5 seconds. This effect stacks up to 5 times. Crit is a good stat for us, so this is a useful trait.

Heed My Call - Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal additional Nature damage to your target and a smaller amount of nature damage to all enemies within 3 yards of that target. This is useful for Elemental as our AoE damage ticks at a very fast rate, increasing the amount of procs we could potentially get from this trait.

Gutripper - Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal physical damage to the target. This occurs more often against targets below 30% health. This trait is most useful on Tyrannical weeks where boss damage is more important.

Inner Ring

Resounding Protection - A passive shield that applies every 30 seconds. This is one of our most useful tier 3 traits, as absorbs are better than passive healing and basically adds additional health to our health pool.

Impassive Visage - When you take damage, you heal. This cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds. This trait can also be a useful defensive trait as a group will be taking constant damage while in combat in most dungeon situations.

Vampiric Speed - When an enemy you have dealt damage to dies, you are healed for an amount and gain a speed increase. This is useful in M+ as enemies are always dying, allowing you to take advantage of the speed increase and healing quite often.

Bulwark of the Masses - When you are surrounded by 4 or more enemies, gain a shield that absorbs damage. Cannot occur more than once every 20sec. Tis is really only good when you are within melee range to proc the shield. you can game the shield for an extra absorb ever now and then but that requires extra movement.

Recommended Essences

Blood of the Enemy - This is one of Elemental Shamans best traits and should be considered most of the time to use. Due to our passive Elemental Fury the active ability, Blood of the Enemy, has amazing synergy with our damage. If used correctly and paired with our stronger cooldowns such as Stormkeeper to generate Maelstrom quickly and pump out Earthquake or our Storm Elemental's big aoe ability Stormfury. The Minor trait, Blood-Soaked also stacks up very quickly and the Haste proc has high uptime due to our kit as Elemental Shamans and our want to focus more on the Crit stat in Mythic Plus.

Condensed Life-Force - Condensed Life-Force offers the most sustained Single Target damage gain on Patchwerk style simulations and should be heavily considered on Tyrannical weeks if your comp needs more sustained damage on bosses. The Major Trait, Guardian of Azeroth, summons a Azerite Elemental that will fight along side you for 30 seconds continuously casting Azerite Spike debuffing your target to take 5% increased damage from all of your spells and abilities. The duration of the guardian lines up perfectly with the duration of your Fire Elemental. In multi target situations you should want to be switching targets as often as possible to get the debuff on as many mobs as you can. The minor Trait Condensed Life-Force operates similarly to the major but does not stack with the Guardian Elemental's own spell debuff.

Essence of the Focusing-Iris - This Essence is the easiest to obtain, at the same time, very impactful in mythic plus. The Major Trait, Focused Azerite Beam, channels a beam damaging all enemies in a thicc line in front of you. This channel at rank 3 can be casted while moving. This burst damage can be paired with our Ancestral Guidance utility spell for some insane off healing capabilities. The Minor Trait, Focused Energy is decent in the overall of the dungeon and fairs better when you are only targeting one mob or boss.

Vision of Perfection - This Essence is one of the more fun to use and has great synergy with the more lucrative Azerite Trait, Echo of the Elementals. Storm Elemental is the Go-To talent when using this Essence as the Major Trait, Vision of Perfection, summons the Elemental for 8 seconds, This is enough time for it to cast its two important spells, Call Lightning and Stormfury, before it despawns. After which will spawn a Spark Elemental, if you are running the Echo of the Elementals Azerite Trait, for the same duration. If Vision of Perfection procs while you have an existing Storm or Fire Elemental out it will add 8 seconds to its duration but also adding 8 seconds to the Spark Elemental's duration that comes after. The Minor Trait is Strive for Perfection reducing the base cooldown of your Fire or Strom Elemental spell to 2min. Be careful when using this Major Trait as it can Despawn an Earth Elemental when using the Primal Elementalist Talent if the Essence procs while it is out.

Purification Protocol - This Essence's Major is Purifying Blast an instant cast spell that calls down a beam on the target location, damaging all enemies within the effected area over 6 seconds. Abberations struck by the beam are also stunned for 3 seconds. The beam has a chance to immediately ANNIHILATE any target. At rank 3 this will also give you an 8 second buff, increasing your damage by 10% if an enemy dies within the beam. The Minor Trait, Purification Protocol, is a passive effect that periodically does a quick burst of aoe damage to all enemies within 8 yards of a damaged enemy. This deals more damage to Aberrations. This Essence should really only be picked in dungeons where you will have a high up-time on the damage increase from killing enemies with the beam.

Conflict and Stife - This Essence's Minor Trait, Strife, is arguably one of the strongest due to its high up time and weight in our stats as Elemental Shaman as Versatility is one of our best Secondary Stats. At level 65 Heart of Azeroth this trait should pretty much always be taken.

Vision of Perfection - This Essence's Minor, Strive for Perfection, should be considered pretty much all the time as a second minor trait once you reach level 65 in your Heart of Azeroth. The reduced cooldown on your primary offensive spell is very impactful in dungeons and lines up perfectly with other cooldowns and On-Use Trinkets.

Purification Protocol - The Minor Trait Purification Protocol actually offers some considerable overall damage in dungeons. Especially dungeons such as Waycrest Manor & Underrot where there are an abundant of Aberration type of mobs. The extra damage can equate to a surprising amount on Fortified weeks.

Communication: This isn't always needed when doing Mythic + in a group but it is strongly recommended if you plan on pushing keys or staying with a set group for a while. Discord offers the option to create your own voice chat server or you can use the in-game voice communication system. The reason communication is strongly advised during Mythic + is because of how many interactions are needed for a smooth run. Calling interrupt rotations, defensive CD use, and CD usage, crowd control, or focusing down a specific target in a pack of mobs. High M + is fast-paced, and requires quick thinking and action to prevent mistakes and/or wipes. Communication is strong tool that can turn the tide just by talking.

Simulations and Stat Weights: It is important to simulate your character to find out what gear best suits your damage output. I recommend using https://www.raidbots.com. It is an interface that runs the latest SimulationCraft. Due to the introduction of Titanforging and gear roll-up,s there is no such thing as a Best in Slot list anymore for gear. This also means that every character is likely unique in what gear they have, with item level or sockets along with stat weights playing roles in what the best option is. With this change, every character will be different when it comes to stat weights. Simming your own character for its own stat weights should be your answer to, "what stat weights should I have for mythic +?" and this goes for both single target (Patchwerk) and AoE (Hectic Add Cleave).

When simming specifically for M+, Raidbots has introduced a new mode named Dungeon Slice. This mode takes a section of a dungeon which includes bosses and trash mobs, with small downtime instances in between and runs the simulation through that. Simming a dungeon isn't easy or 100% accurate, as there are many variables for each dungeon. The purpose of this mode is to give you a good idea of what talents, Azerite Traits, or gear are best for your character in mythic +.

Not Utilizing Defensives: As an Elemental Shaman we have so much utility, kind of a jack-of-all-trades. This utility comes responsibilities in your M + groups though. Helping your healer out as much as you can by reducing the amount of damage you take through Astral Shift and Harden Skin can really go a long way for their mana pool. Rotating defensives for high damage scenarios is key.

Stacking defensive spells is not a good idea so don't panic when big damage is going out. Ancestral Guidance can be a large contributor to healing in certain packs of mobs that do a lot of party damage. Just be aware of when it is best for you to be off-healing. If you have offensive cooldowns available and can pair them with Ancestral Guidance, then DPS to off-heal. If CD's are not available but the healer still needs help, use Healing Surge instead, targeting party members that need direct healing the most.

Not Utilizing Crowd Control: As Elemental Shaman, we also come with a variety of crowd control utility that often goes under the radar. Knowing when to use a certain CC will help the tank or other party member greatly. Considering the charge time of our Capacitor Totem is 2 seconds, be prepared when an AoE stun is needed. Two seconds is a long time when funneling damage into a target that has a damage reduction active that can only be stopped with a stun. We have other tools as well that often go unused in a lot of cases.

Earthbind Totem is an AoE slow of 50% with a long up time of 20 seconds and a short cooldown. Frost Shock can really help when kiting a specific mob or ensuring that enemies don't get away. Use all the tools in your disposal and get creative with how to use them.

Useful Items to Consider

Auto-Hammer – Made by Engineers. This item allows party members to repair all their gear. Has a 1-hour cooldown and usable anywhere where you can't mount up to repair.

Lightfoot Potion – Usable anywhere, increases movement speed by 150% for 8 seconds. This potion is very useful for certain trash mob skips and can be an alternative to the Skystep Potion.

Demitri's Draught of Deception – The imbiber gains invisibility for 18 seconds. This also places all potions on a 5 minute cooldown. Keep in mind that if you cast any ability while active, the invisibility is removed. This is a great potion to use for certain skips and avoiding certain mobs that are dangerous or too time-consuming. Alternatively you can use Draenic Invisibility Potion.

Avalanche Elixir – Potion that makes you immune to fall damage. This potion also doesn’t share a cooldown with other potions. Useful for running into the Rezan boss area in Atal'Dazar.

Jeeves – An old engineering item that is an alternative to the Auto-Hammer. This works the same way in which you can repair your gear in an are where you can't mount. An alternative can be Khaz'gorian Hammer(link) (Blacksmithing).

Unstable Temporal Time Shifter – A combat rez usable only by engineers. It has a 5 second cast time and a range of 3 yards. This is a must have for classes that don't have combat rez' in their tool kit. Even with the long cast time, it's better than nothing.

Belt Enchant: Holographic Horror Projector (Engineering) – Enchant your belt to give you the ability to fear an enemy for 5 seconds. 1 minute cooldown, but shares it with potions. Not the most recommended, as the feared mob can wander into other packs of mobs. Be careful while using.

Belt Enchant: Personal Space Amplifier (Engineering) – Enchant your belt to give you the ability to knock back an enemy. Having a 1 minute cooldown, but shares it with potions. This is useful for interrupting mobs' spellcasting.

Belt Enchant: Miniaturized Plasma Shield (Engineering) – Enchant your belt to give you the ability to shield yourself preventing some incoming damage. 10 minute cooldown. This is one of the more useful belt enchants as it doesn't share a cooldown with potions and we already have a knock back in the form of Thunderstorm.

Scroll of Unlocking (Inscription) – Gives you a lock picking skill of 600, 1 time use. These scrolls can be used to unlock certain doors and gates in Tol Dagor.

Monelite Skeleton Key (Blacksmithing) – Another key that is useful in unlocking gates and doors in Tol Dagor. One time use.

Discreet Spellthread (Tailoring) – Enchant your cloak to reduce the amount of threat generated. This is pretty useful for Elemental Shaman as our burst is quite strong, sometimes leading to too much threat generation. This can be especially useful on Skittish weeks.

Dungeon Affixes and How to Deal With Them

Tyrannical – On Tyrannical weeks, you want to have as much boss damage as possible. Consider using Totem Mastery instead of Aftershock. Thankfully as Elemental Shamans our single target and AoE cooldowns are the same thanks to our optimal talents. This being said, you want to make sure you have your cooldowns up for each boss. Planning ahead of time and optimal cooldown usage comes with practice and experience.

Fortified – On Fortified weeks, we want to be using our cooldowns as often as possible on trash, as that’s where the majority of the time spent in the dungeons is going to be spent. You have much more leeway when it comes to having cooldowns up for bosses. Try to have a pre-pot for each boss, but use your cooldowns effectively on trash mobs.

Bolstering – Bolstering can take up a lot of extra time in dungeons due to mobs getting too many stacks and living too long, while also dealing increased damage. Try to kill all mobs around the same time to reduce the impact of Bolstering as much as possible. If an Elite mob is in the pack with a few non-Elite mobs try and funnel more single target damage into that Elite mob. Overall, you will be spending less time on each trash pack if you are focusing down the right targets. Consider CC'ing Elite mobs and pulling non-Elites far out of range of the Elite mob thus to not Bolster it.

Raging – Raging can sometimes be difficult to deal with without a Soothe in the group. Try holding your Capacitor Totem and Earthbind Totem to help the tank kite mobs that are Raging. Your Earth Elemental comes in quite handy for this, but remember they will be taking more damage so try to kite around with your elemental pet.

Sanguine – Be very careful with Sanguine as our Earthquake ability can be a headache when this affix is active, due to the knockdowns and possible extended times the mobs will be in these pools. Make good use of your Thunderstorm ability to knock mobs out of the pools. Try to kill mobs around the same time similar to Bolstering to reduce the effect of this affix.

Teeming – More targets, More PEW PEW! This is an Elemental Shaman's dream, but keep in mind that there may be added mobs that need to be focused down more.

Bursting – This affix is basically the opposite of Bolstering and should be treated as such. Overloading your healer with too many Bursting stacks is a bad idea, so try to spread out the killing of adds. You may have to use Astral Shift if things get too hectic.

Necrotic – Use your utility to help the tank out! Earthbind Totem and Capacitor Totem for controlling mobs and Thunderstorm to knock them away from the tank so they can drop stacks. Earth Elemental can tank mobs for a while, but treat it as if it were a second tank. It can't face tank for Necrotic for long, so be smart and kite like a tank.

Skittish – Hold your load… of burst DPS. It's very important that your tank establishes initial aggro on mobs before you start going nuts with your Stormkeeper, Chain Lightning burst and Storm Elemental. We don't have any sort of threat reduction, so keep that in mind when pulling mobs.

Explosive – Elemental Shaman aren't that great at dealing with this, as we don’t have any short cooldown instant damaging abilities. What we can do however, is Chain Lightning off of the Explosive and it will chain to nearby enemies, making our Stormkeeper talent useful against them. Also consider using the Icefury talent for this affix as it can be quite useful to deal with them. If some are going to explode, use defensives or help with off-healing. It may also be useful to spec into Nature's Guardian if your group composition isn't good at dealing with this affix.

Grievous – You have a lot of self-healing, so take advantage of that. If your healer needs help topping up members of your group to get rid of stacks, then help out with Healing Surge and Ancestral Guidance.

Volcanic– Elemental Shaman are essentially turret casters, but we do in fact have options if we have to move. Move on GCD's if you have to, this means the global cooldown you have when you cast a spell. You can move your character 1-2 steps in this short time, so instant cast spells come in handy here. Earth Shock or Earthquake, refreshing your Flame Shock, Lava Burst on Lava Surge procs, Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning while you have the Stormkeeper buff active, and if nothing else use Frost Shock on the move. These are all examples of spells that can be cast while moving so try to always be casting. Another thing to know is the spawn points and range Volcanic has. If it spawns nearby but its effect is out of range of you, you don’t have to move thus you don’t lose out on damage. This will become more familiar the more you play with the affix.

Quaking – The bane of all casters, Elemental Shaman primary spell school is Nature so be sure to not get locked out of it as you won't be able to heal yourself/others or deal the majority of your damage if you do. Consider getting a tracker Weakaura for Quaking to see when the effect will hit. If you do not have time to finish your cast consider your instant cast spell options like Frost Shock.

Beguiling (Season 3) - Beguiling is the seasonal affix in Season 3, replacing Reaping. Unlike Reaping, pulls have to be done more carefully and is comparable to Infested in terms the the style of play. This affix has various new mobs spread out around the dungeon called Emissaries. These Emissaries have different special abilities and each need to be dealt with differently. In this section we will go over each ability and how to deal with them as an Elemental Shaman.
There are three different types of new mobs, Enchanted Emissary, Emissary of the Tides, and Void-Touched Emissary. The easiest of the three to deal with is the Enchanted Emissary, it has the ability Queen's Decree: Blowback. To deal with this mob you will want to attack it with spells to push it back and away from other mobs. Be careful not to push the emissary into other mob packs you are not yet in combat with or it will trigger combat with them. It's energy bar will drain every second it is in combat and when the energy bar hits 3 it will cast Teleport: The Eternal Palace and leave the dungeon.

The next emissary you will find with the Beguiling affix is the Emissary of the Tides. This Emissary has a passive aura Queen's Decree: Unstoppable, this doesnt make the emissary immune to crowd control spells itself but have a maximum duration of 8 seconds, these spells have no Diminishing Returns. All nearby allies afflicted by Queen's Decree: Unstoppable are immune to crowd control effects. This includes interrupts, silences, disorients, stuns, dazes, incapacitates, sleeps, snares, slows, and roots. When the add reaches 1 health, it will cast Teleport: The Eternal Palace, removing it from the dungeon permanently.

The final emissary you need to worry about is the Void-Touched Emissary. This Emissary will cast Queen's Decree: Hide continuously until it reaches 1 health. Each time the spell hits a player they will receive a debuff increasing the damage they take from Queen's Decree: Hide by 50%. This aoe spell can be mitigated simply by line of sighting the mob or going our of its 60 yard range. When the Emissary reaches 1 health, it will cast Teleport: The Eternal Palace, removing it from the dungeon permanently.

Reaping (Season Two) - Reaping is the seasonal affix in Season two, replacing Infested. Unlike Infested, Reaping will encourage groups to do bigger trash pulls for faster percentage. This is a great and exciting change for Elemental Shaman due to ability to excel in AoE situations. The affix works by summoning ghosts of the enemies you have already defeated, and every 20% of enemy forces completed, Bwonsamdi will command the ghosts to swarm your party (this happens at 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, & 100%). We have been able to gather some information from testing this affix on the PTR, and here is what we know so far. There are three different types of ghosts that make up the mobs of the affix, Risen Soul, Tormented Soul, and Lost Soul. The weaker NPC's of the dungeons will become Risen Soul, gaining the ability Reap Soul. Having multiple of these stacking up on your tank can be deadly, so kiting them is the best option. Caster mobs from the dungeon will turn into Tormented Soul,gaining the ability Grave Bolt, which should be interrupted as often as possible as they currently deal 25% of players maximum health. And finally beefier mobs inside of the dungeon will turn into Lost Soul, gaining the ability Shadow Smash. Players hit by this ability will have their health reduced by 20% for 1 minute.

Reaping mobs have a health pool value of 50% of the mobs they were risen from. For example: if the Tidesage Initiates from the Shrine of the Storm dungeon have 150K health, the ghosts that they spawn will have a 75K health pool. This also includes any mini-boss mobs in dungeons.

If for some reason your group wipes to a group of Reaping mobs, they will not despawn. Instead they will run back to the bodies of the mobs they spawned from and during the next 20% Reaping instance, they will come after you then. You can however go back and kill them on their own. Once a Reaping mob has been in combat they will become attack-able even if they reset.

Thankfully, Reaping mobs are not affected by other affixes! This means they are not healed by Sanguine, do not apply stacks of Bolster, will not give your tank trouble with Necrotic, and raging does not affect them either. They will not summon Explosive orbs and have normal threat tables, (looking at you, Skittish...). The only affix that affects them is Fortified, only because of the health pool of the original mob though.

Make sure you keep moving to dodge the Dazar'ai Juggernaut, these guys deal insane damage if they hit you with their Merciless Assault on higher keys. An easy way to deal with them is to have one ranged player stand out to bait the charges and they move for each one.

Have an interrupt rotation set up in your group for the Dazar'ai Augur and Dazar'ai Confessor mobs. Make sure to interrupt the Confessor's casts, Dispel, Bwonsamdi's Mantle & Mending Word. Also interrupt the Augurs casts, Fiery Enchant & Wildfire as they does a ton of damage.

If the Dazar'ai Confessor gets a cast of Bwonsamdi's Mantle off, mob's that are inside of the dome are not CC-able and must be dragged out.
Dazar'ai Juggernaut will cast Fanatic's Rage. This is a self-buff that can be interrupted.

You can easily cast a spell on the Feasting Skyscreamer from where your group is to pull it up. This is a great way to maximize your mob count in this one area. Be sure to interrupt its Terrifying Screech cast. If you know it won't be interrupted drop a Tremor Totem.

Rezan will cast Pursuit on a random target. An easy way for this not to be cast on melee players to optimize group damage is to have two ranged stand out to bait the cast. If you get targeted with the fixate run towards the opposite side of the room in a straight line. You can cast on the move spells hear to optimize damage.

Terrifying Visage can be ignored by positioning your character out of line of sight of the boss. Use one of the slanted pillars or the stairs near the entrance of the room. You can also have great use of Tremor Totem here. Being able to use Tremor Totem for every other fear.

The Reanimated Honor Guard will heal unless their Reanimation Totem is killed. Once the totem is killed, the Reanimated Honor Guard will get the Rotting Decay passive. This deals a bunch of AoE damage to the party so kill the Honor Guard quickly.

The Shieldbearer of Zul will cast Bulwark of Juju. If you time it correctly you can use Capacitor Totem to interrupt it. They can only be interrupted with stuns, fears, incapacitates or knockdowns.

You can actually draw out the Shadowblade Stalkers and prevent their initial stun by casting an Earthbind Totem at their location so it puts them in combat and they kill the totem.

As an Elemental Shaman we don’t bring anything to help skip these mobs so typically we rely on other classes for this utility. But we can pull all the mobs and die off in a corner to allow our group members to pass into the boss room. Then get a res from the healer. Class Utility!

Rogues can use Shroud of Concealment to skip into the boss room.

Deamon Hunters can help by using Imprison

Monks can use a Paralysis and Ring of Peace combo to move the mobs out of proximity aggro range.

You can Flame Shock all three Reanimation Totems in phase one to give you more Lava Surge procs and to help with other Reanimation Totems.

It's better to use your cooldowns in phase two so don’t worry about not having your Storm Elemental for Phase 1.

As a ranged Turret Class we want to not be clumped up in melee to maximize our damage. Usually the tank will drag the boss along the outer most triangles so don’t be dropping Toxic Pool along that path.

If you keep an eye on the boss he will shoot out globs of green, these are the Toxic Pool. If you are standing out of the group it is easier for you to see the one that will spawn on you. If you see a glob shoot out really high that one may be yours, allowing you to move before it lands on you and saving yourself from the initial tick of damage. This will take some practice to get right.

If you skipped the pack on the stairs entrance to the boss make sure you don't end the fight near them as you can proximity pull after the boss dies. And Wipe.

On Fortified weeks this is a good spot to use your second Bloodlust instead of Vol'kaal.

This is also a good time to be using your Primal Earth Elemental as there is quite a lot of tank damage going out. If you summon it make sure to target a Zanchuli Witch-Doctor or Shadowblade Stalker as you don’t want to DR a Shieldbearer of Zul from stuns. (Your Earth Elemental Stuns the target you cast it on when talented into Primal Elementalist) Unless of course you are interrupting Bulwark of Juju with the stun.

Interrupt the Venom Blasts, cast by Zanchuli Witch-Doctor and use Capacitor Totem to interrupt Bulwark of Juju. Cleanse Spirit to get your allies out of Unstable Hex (again be careful).

Make sure that you use the lever ASAP just in case of a wipe. You won't have to take the same path again if you do.

Priestess Alun'zaFeasting SkyscreamerToxic Saurid

You can get interrupts on the Skyscreamers every time as an Elemental Shaman and if they are going to go through make sure to drop a Tremor Totem to save a wipe.

Toxic Saurid do quite a lot of damage with their Leaping Thrash ability, so stay loosely spread to avoid extra damage taken.
Since this is a great opportunity to do some AoE damage with Stormkeeper, Pair your damage with Ancestral Guidance for some fantastic off-healing for these packs.

Try to avoid pulling Dinomancer Kish'o and her patting dinosaurs. This is a very hard hitting group of mobs and is very easily avoidable.

Similar to the first pack of mobs up the left staircase at the start of the dungeon. You will need to have interrupts on important casts from these mobs. Make sure to interrupt Bwonsamdi's Mantle, Mending Word and Fiery Enchant.

Make sure to have cooldowns here as they aren’t needed for the next boss. This is a really good spot to use Earth Elemental as well.
Make sure, as a ranged, to bait the Dazar'ai Juggernaut charge out and dodge the attack.

The Gilded Priestess will cast Transfusion and if you are targeted with it you can run into a pool of Tainted Blood. The Priestesses will then drain its own health once you have the debuff from the blood.

You can stay closer to melee to keep the spiders from Echoes of Shadra more grouped up.

Staying closer to the boss when stacking for Soulrend can be risky but also beneficial if your group focuses the Soulspawn down right away and reduces the amount of movement they have to do to deal with this mechanic.

Make sure to pool Maelstrom when Yazma is close to max energy as she will be casting Soulrend soon and spawning Soulspawn. Earthquake and Chain Lightning do quite a bit of damage to these adds.

Using the Static Charge Talent comes in handy on this boss as you are able to stun every spawn of Soulrend when they are grouped up.

Irontide Enforcers will cast Brutal Backhand, an AoE cone effect that hits hard so make sure not to stand in front of them. They will also use Shattering Toss, throwing the Tank or whoever has agro to another party member. This deals splash damage when the party member lands as well. When fighting these enemies, positioning is crucial so stand out of melee and avoid taking extra damage if possible.

Irontide Mastiffs will cast Bestial Wrath on themselves, buffing their physical damage. This can be removed with a Soothe ability.

Irontide Corsairs and Irontide Crackshots have ranged abilities. This can be quite annoying when trying to group them up for AoE damage. Be cognizant of this on Sanguine weeks and be prepared to knock them to a better positon with Thunderstorm if needed.

Ranged DPS can stay at max range to avoid getting hit by Azerite Powder Shot, This is pretty significant as it deals a heavy amount of damage to players.

Once you are in phase two you can stand outside of the arena and completely avoid almost all mechanics at max range. Including the Dive Bomb ability used by Sharkbait.

Sharkbait will continually cast Irontide Enforcer in phase two. He will prioritize casting this on players standing within the arena but also players within range of the boss before casting it on players outside of the arena. Since Elemental Shaman are a ranged class we can benefit by staying outside of the arena at max range to avoid mechanics and tunnel DPS into the boss.

One trick tanks can do on this fight is to bring Skycap'n Kragg just outside of the arena so that melee can avoid Dive Bomb and, if the healer or another DPS is properly baiting the Vile Bombarments, melee could never have to move. Making the boss a lot easier and shorter.

Some things to keep in mind for the mobs in this area are that the Cutwater Duelist and Irontide Oarsman cast Duelist Dash and Sea Spout respectively. These abilities can be deadly if multiple players get hit at once, but the Sea Spout can be interrupted thankfully.

The Vermin Trapper cast Rat Traps which if stood in deal an enormous amount of ticking damage. They will always be cast at the location your character was at when the cast ended.

So move quickly out of its radius and avoid the damage! Some classes such as Druids and Paladins can clear the traps without taking any damage by shape-shifting or using Blessing of Freedom. Havoc Demon Hunters can Blade Dance the traps as well to soak them up.

Also in this area, there are going to be three possible events that must be completed to activate the Council o' Captains boss fight. Unless of course you want to fight all three at once! Completing the event will make one of the three bosses friendly to your group and help you fight the other two!

The Bilge Rat Buccaneers cast Goin' Bananas which can be interrupted with a knockback or stun. Capacitor Totem

There is also a neutral Bilge Rat Swabby in this area that’s also usually pulled with this pack. Keep caution for its Slippery Suds ability as you will be stunned if you jump while the debuff is on you. This can be a deadly combination with Rat Traps if you like to jump around while fighting.

The bartender in the corner of the boss area will periodically throw brews throughout the fight. Having three different effects: Confidence-Boosting Freehold Brew which increases your Critical Strike rating, Invigorating Freehold Brew which increases your Haste, and Caustic Freehold Brew which puts a dot on the target. Players should try and get the brews that give the buffs and avoid the one that gives the damage debuff. Also your tank should strive to place the boss inside of the damage debuff, and take into consideration that the damage buffs will buff the bosses as well.

Eudora will cast Grapeshot. She will jump to anyone of the 4 corners of the room when she starts to cast Grapeshot. Try to stay close to Eudora after she jumps to easily avoid the damaging cones she fires. If you are going to get hit by Grapeshot use Astral Shift to reduce the damage you take and run against her rotation to not take multiple shots.

Eudora will also cast Powder Shot. When she does she will always target the player she has chosen before the damage goes out. So enable target of target frames to see who she is targeting. This gives you a bit of time to react and use a defensive to mitigate some of the damage. Having Harden Skin and Astral Shift for this really helps out your healer as on Tyrannical and high keys this does quite a bit of damage.

Captain Eudora's Powder Shot can also be line of sighted around specific pillars and walls in the boss area. This could be very beneficial on very high Tyrannical keys.
Captain Raoul will cast Blackout Barrel on random players. This can be dealt with in a number of ways depending on your comp. If you have a Monk or Paladin in the group, Blessing of Freedom and Tiger's Lust can break the player out of the barrel. If you don't have those classes then other players will need to break the player out.

Captain Raoul will also cast Barrel Smash. Damaging and knocking back players caught in its area. Avoid getting beverage buffs if Barrel Smash will interfere.

Captain Raoul & Captain Jolly (Captain Eudora is friendly)

Captain Raoul will cast Blackout Barrel on random players. This can be dealt with in a number of ways depending on your comp. If you have a Monk or Paladin in the group, Blessing of Freedom and Tiger's Lust can break the player out of the barrel. If you don't have those classes then other players will need to break the player out.

Captain Raoul will also cast Barrel Smash. Damaging and knocking back players caught in its area. Avoid getting beverage buffs if Barrel Smash will interfere.
Captain Eudora will periodically cast Chain Shot on one of the two other captains. This will stun them for 6 seconds. This spell comes in quite handy with Raoul is casting Barrel Smash and buffs are going out.

Captain Jolly will throughout the fight cast Cutting Surge, quickly jumping to a random player marked by an area of effect. Get out of this area to avoid the damage.

Captain Jolly will also cast Whirlpool of Blades at a targets location, returning slowly to Jolly.

Try to position away from the bosses as the buff will spawn close to the boss' location. That way you can bait the Whirlpool of Blades or Cutting Surge out and prevent it from interfering with the buffs location.

Captain Jolly & Captain Eudora ( Captain Raoul is friendly)

Captain Raoul will periodically drop a buff for the party with Tapped Keg, Standing inside the area of effect will increase the players damage dealt by 15%. The Bartender will NOT be throwing buffs around.

Captain Eudora's Powder Shot can also be line of sighted around specific pillars and walls in the boss area. This could be very beneficial on very high Tyrannical keys.

Captain Jolly will throughout the fight cast Cutting Surge, quickly jumping to a random player marked by an area of effect. Get out of this area to avoid the damage.

Captain Jolly will also cast Whirlpool of Blades at a targets location, returning slowly to Jolly.

The Blacktooth Knuckledusters cast Shattering Bellow which should be interrupted or it will silence you.

The Scrappers cast Blind Rage fixating on a random player and dealing increased damage if they reach them. This ability can be interrupted with a stun so use that Capacitor Totem. It can also be dispelled with Soothe.

Watch out for the Frost Blast cast by the Bilge Rat Brinescale, it does a lot of group damage and should be interrupted. Especially on Fortified weeks.

The Irontide Crushers will cast Boulder Throw at a random player, just move out of it to avoid the heavy damage and knockback. They will also cast Ground Shatter, an AoE nuke that knocks back players and deals a ton of damage so watch out!

The Cutwater Harpooners can be annoying with pulled with these other mobs. Their Cast Dragging Harpoon interrupts casts and pulls you to their location. This can be especially deadly if it is paired with Ground Shatter that’s cast by the Irontide Crusher.

First big thing to know about this fight as Elemental Shaman is that we can take advantage of the two Neutral Target Dummies just off to the side of the boss room. Keep Flame Shock up on these dummies for extra Lava Surge procs. You can maintain 3 very easily.

The extra Lava Burst will also help with added movement you will have to do if Shark Toss has been put on you. If you have a shark chasing you run the shark through a patch of Throw Chum that’s on the ground. This will Stun the shark and allow you to get away safely. Most groups usually have the healer get chased by the sharks throughout the fight as there is normally one shark out most of the time and DPS can continue to deal damage.

Trothak will cast Rearm and charge towards the shark that has been out the longest, picking it back up and knocking and dealing damage to players within the line of the charge. He will then throw another shark out in a short while. Don’t be in between a shark and the boss at all times.

Usually the group will stack up together and move when Cannon Barrage goes out. It is recommended that you wait and count to 3 before moving. This will reduce the area of effect the ability will have by clumping the fire together.

Swiftwind Saber knocks players back and deals damage to them. The animation is a little hard to see along with how clear its hitbox is. Players usually take a lot of damage from this fight so reducing the amount of damage you take is helpful for the healer.

If Bloodlust is available, try and use it for 45% boss health as it lines up with Harlan Sweete's increased damage taken phase.

The first two Animated Guardians can be skipped by hugging the left wall and ledge tightly.

The Minion of Zul have a magic buff called Bound by Shadow. When dispelled they will instantly die. It's best to use Arcane Torrent, Mass Dispel or any other Purge spell on these to quickly deal with them if you are going to be pulling the Guardians. Otherwise you can skip this whole front area with Shroud of Concealment.

If you are going to pull the Guardians make sure that as a ranged you stay at max range from these. They will cast Suppression Slam and you can easily our range the cone of effect.

Melee will have a tougher time with these so have your tank constantly be moving the adds to make it easier for the melee to see the slam casts.

Shadow-Borne Witch Doctors cast Shadow Bolt Volley and Deathly Chill, there should be an interrupt rotation for the Witches casts. Shadow Bolt Volley being the more important spell to interrupt.

Shadow-Borne Champions will periodically cast Vigilant Defense, shielding any incoming attacks from the direction the Champion is facing. You’ll have to move behind him to deal damage during the cast.

The Champion will also gain stacks of Ancestral Fury, these can be removed by Druids or Hunters.

Watch out for the tornadoes spawned by the Shadow-Borne Warriors when they cast Gust Slash on the tank.

Make sure to Deal with the Minion of Zul quickly in this room.

Spit Gold deals massive amounts of ticking damage so be sure to use either Astral Shift or Harden Skin if your Earth Elemental is available. Self healing here with Healing Surge is a good idea as well.

The Animated Gold mobs have very low hp and are quite easy to cleave down with a few Chain Lightning or Earthquake casts. Killing them kill allow your tank to keep the boss more stationary.

It is ideal to stack the piles of Molten Gold together.

King A'akul will cast Hidden Blade on random non-tank party members, applying a poison to them dealing damage over time. This can tick quite heavily so either have a defensive or have your healer dispel the poison if they can.

Bloodsworn Agent will teleport around when they cast Shadow Whirl.

Queen PatlaaSkeletal Hunting Raptor

The only thing to really pay attention to here is the ability Queen Patlaa casts called Darkshot. It will spawn a dark pool underneath the target hit that slows the player standing within it.

The higher the key the more encumbering the slow is. Elemental Shaman can just Ghost Wolf out of it due to Ghost Wolf not being able to be slowed past 100% movement speed.

But you shouldn’t be around the melee for this mechanic as it can hinder their movement quite a bit on higher keys.

Skeletal Hunting Raptorr will cast Hunting Leap on random players, jumping to them and slashing. This deals damage in a cone in front of them but you can cancel the cast if you knock them away with Thunderstorm.

King Rahu'aiGuard Captain AtuSeneschal M'bara

King Rahu'ai will cast Channel Lightning, dealing AoE damage to enemies within its range. You can interrupt this cast as soon as he finishes the cast and starts the channel by knocking him aside with Thunderstorm, using Death Grip on him or using a Monks Ring of Peace.

Seneschal M'bara will cast Induce Regeneration, this should be interrupted to not heal the mobs you are fighting.

Guard Captain Atu will cast Axe Barrage, which is a physical dot effect that applies to the entire party. You can however line of sight the cast if the tank has the mob inside the gauntlet room and you step out of it to hide behind a corner wall.

King TimaljiQueen Wasi

Queen Wasi will cast Shadow Bolt back to back so make sure to have an interrupt rotation going for this cast. She will also cast Seduction on a random non-tank player. This needs to be dispelled with Purge.

King Timalji will just cast Bladestorm and fixate on a random player so just stay away from him when he is casting it.

Purification ConstructPurification StrikePurification Beam

Purification Strike will always be cast on the tank and it will leave behind a pool of fire. Purification Beam is more dangerous and you should try not to get hit by it as best you can.

If you need to run over a pool of fire to not get hit by Purification Beam then it's best to do so.

You can also skip the construct by using Shroud of Concealment.

Embalming Fluids will cast Splash Fluid constantly, applying stacks of Embalming Fluid.This is can be pretty annoying as a caster. Communicate with your healer if they have a poison dispel so you can actually cast. Keeping in mind the cooldown of the dispel.

The two Interment Constructs will cast Entomb on a random DPS. The player will be teleported into the nearest coffin. It is best to tank these right next to one of the coffins.

Try to bait the casts of Burn Corruption along the outside area of the boss room. This is to leave a clear enough path for the group to move around and deal with the other mechanics.

The boss will Entomb a random DPS, they can reveal where they are by shaking the coffin they are in. If someone opens up a coffin a payer is not within, a Half-Finished Mummy will spawn. They must be interrupted and killed quickly if no party members can keep them permanently CC’d.

Spectral Witch Doctors will cast Frost Shock greatly slowly targets hit and dealing a chunk of damage. They will also summon a Healing Tide Totem that needs to be killed.

Spectral Berserkers are one of the more dangerous mobs in the dungeons. The Berserkers will cast Severing Blade which places a hard ticking DoT on the nearest target within 10 yards.

This is a good opportunity to use Earth Elemental on these mobs. Taking the DoT instead of the tank.

Spectral Brutes will also cast Blooded Leap on random players. Just dodge the ability.

Spectral Hex Priests will cast Hex and Spectral Bolt. Try to interrupt Spectral Bolt as often as possible. These deal a large amount of damage. You can Cleanse Spirit the Hex off of your allies but if it goes on you, either interrupt it or you may have to sit in it unless there is another curse dispel in your group.

Spectral Beastmaster are also a tough mob to encounter in this dungeon. They are stationary ranged mobs that cast Poison Barrage at random players. Make sure to position the cast so that it won’t hit multiple group members as it does quite a lot of damage. Spectral Beastmasters are usually picked up by Death Knights as pets because of how much damage they tend to deal to mobs and bosses.

Honored Raptors do the same mechanics as the raptors in the gauntlet.

The Spectral Brute will cast Ground Crush in a large area, move out of the cast or you may die depending on how high the key is. You can reset his cast of Ground Crush by knocking away with Thunderstorm or having a Death Knight Death Grip the mob.

You should consider your Bloodlust timers when pulling the trash around here. If you are coming up to some of the trash and lust is about to become available, consider skipping some of the trash to get to the next boss quicker and put Bloodlust on cooldown. You can always backtrack to get some of the trash percentage you need.

When Severing Axe is put on you, you should rotate your defensive cooldowns. Astral Shift and Harden Skin will really help with the not dying part from this dot. Self heal with Healing Surge and ask for a external if need be from your healer.

Whirling Axes will always move in a counter-clockwise pattern slowly rotating outwards. A good positioning strategy for Kula is to tank her in the direct centre of the room and whenever she casts Whirling Axes just move out and back in to the centre for the next cast.

Have an interrupt rotation set up for Lightning Bolt and Poison Nova. The Lightning Bolts can hurt quite a bit on higher keys but it's not a wipe if one gets off like it is for Poison Nova.

When Call of the Elements is cast you will be able to Purge the Earthwall Totem buff that is placed on the boss. But you will also be able to Flame Shock.

When ever Zanazal the Wise spawns to cast Poison Nova, he must be interrupted but you can also cast Flame Shock on him. It will continue to tick even after he disappears to potentially give you more Lava Surge procs.

King DazarTrashShadow of Zul

The Shadow of Zul will cast Dark Revelation on random party members. When the debuff ends it will deal AoE damage and summon a Minion of Zul. Make sure you are away from your allies when the debuff goes off and Purge the Minion of Zul to kill it.

Pool of Darkness will also spawn and cast an AoE pulsate in an area around it. You can out range the effect to ignore the mechanic.

The Shadow of Zul will be non stop casting Shadow Barrage on his target. It is possible that you may have to help the healer out here funneling heals into the tank if he is taking too much damage.

On Bursting or Bolstering weeks be careful with the initiates as they die super quickly and this can be an issue when Bolstering is an affix.

Make sure to interrupt the Tidesage Spiritualists when they cast Mending Rapids. It’s a fast ticking hot that heals all allies within 20yards. This is very important to interrupt.

The Tidesage Spiritualists will also cast Anchor of Binding rooting and damaging any player caught in it so just don’t stand in the blue swirly ground effects.

The Temple Attendants will be casting Water Blast so try and interrupt as many of those as possible as well, they tend to hit pretty hard.

The Attendants also cast Wash Away knocks back and damaging players. This can easily knock your character off the ledge and ontop of the Living Current mob below so be cognizant of your positioning.

Now that you are at the bottom of the stairs you will find the Living Current mob to the left and another down the stairs further on.

Groups will usually skip these with Shroud of Concealment by jumping off the waterfall and tightly hugging the right side while the Rogue uses Distract to help with proximity agro.

Surging Rush is the most deadly ability to watch out for. Getting hit by it can easly mean certain death as you can be knocked off the platform rather quickly. (R.I.P Gust of Wind)

This is even more evident on Tyrannical keys. The boss will always target a players direction for this ability. You can also see a small red arrow to indicate the bosses direction if you have him targeted.

Grasp from the Depthss can be removed from stunning it. Use a Capacitor Totem for this. Or Flame Shock it for more Lava Surge procs if your group doesn’t deal with them using stuns.
If Undertow is cast on you, use Ghost Wolf to outrun the push back effect. You may also want to use on the move spells to keep up your damage.

When Phase Two happens you can easily keep Flame Shock up on all three versions of the boss.

Also in Phase Two, you will have to deal with 3x Surging Rush! Sop make sure you target each mob to understand exactly which direction they are charging to.

Dealing with the Galecaller Apprentices will be quite easy as there are only two of them and depending on the affix's you may heave to kill one at a time. Don’t stand in their Slicing Hurricane ability and watch out for the Tempest tornadoes they spawn and hurl towards random players.

Make sure to interrupt Windspeaker Heldis as much as possible when she casts Windblast. Especially when she spawns a Minor Swiftness Ward increasing the casting speed of whoever stands in it. You'll want to stand in this ward. Have your tank drag her out of the ward if possible.

Usually groups will do one giant pull. Bringing everything out into the open space where the previous Mini Boss was to fight and kite them there.

This is where you can use big cooldowns like Earth Elemental and Storm Elemental along with some off healing and CC if need be with Earthbind Totem, Capacitor Totem and Ancestral Guidance. This is quite a big pull so there will be lots of AoE damage to do depending on the affixes and how comfortable your tank is with pulling.

Interrupt as much as the Water Blast casts as possible from the Attendants and help to kite by knocking mobs off the tank if need be with Thunderstorm.

The Ironhull Apprentices will be debuffing the tank with an armor reduction Sundering Blow so he will have to kite often. Also they will be casting Lesser Blessing of Ironsides and Whirling Slam which means the tank and melee will be moving often. The Slam ability is able to be interrupted with a stun however.

Runecarver Sorn will cast Minor Reinforcing Ward on the ground underneath himself. Anyone standing inside the ward will take 75% reduced damage, enemy or ally is both able to receive the buff. Be sure to drag the Runecarver out of the ward and any other enemies you pull with him. The Minor Reinforcing Ward will reduce ALL damage, including damage from affixes such as Quaking, Bursting, and Volcanic. So definitely take advantage of the damage reduction for certain affixes.

Runecarver Sorn will also cast Carve Flesh on a random group member, this player will take massive amounts of ticking damage so be sure to stand in the Minor Reinforcing Ward to stay alive.

Make sure you use your defensive spells Astral Shift and Harden Skin to help out your healer here during Shipbreaker Storm.

If Shipbreaker Storm becomes too much to handle it can be line of sighted around the corners of the bridge to be sure to position the mini boss on the bridge to take advantage of the LOS.

The Guardian Elemental can also be skipped by one player pulling him back into the previous room while the other group members stand aside behind the bushes to the left and as the Mini Boss runs after the bait player the rest will run across the bridge and drop down to the left rocks. The bait player can then either die and get Mass Resurrected by the healer or if they have an Invisibility spell to drop combat to survive the pull and save some time. The best classes to bait are Rogues, Mages, Hunters and any class. Shadowmeld. May take some time to practice.

It is imperative that you have an interrupt rotation for Galecaller Faye's Slicing Blast spell. Not interrupting the spell especially on Tyrannical weeks can be deadly as the damage stacks up quickly. When Swiftness Ward is placed down she also gains a Haste buff so make sure to interrupt her when she is in the ward so that the tank can move her out. Players can take advantage of the ward buff as well.

When Brother Ironhull places Reinforcing Ward down, make sure the bosses aren't standing inside of it. The ward removes any debuffs on whoever stands within it so you may have to Re-Apply Flame Shock on the bosses. This also means that if you have any stacks of Slicing Blast you can remove them by stepping into the ward.

Focus down Galecaller Faye as when she dies the fight becomes much easier.

It is best for casters to stand outside of the ring and avoid all mechanics of this fight while maximizing damage output. Though the haste buff rune is tempting, it is not worth the added movement you will be forced to do to maintain the buff up-time.

Killing the first Deepsea Ritualist to the left will grant you the shortcut to the area from the first boss, just in case you wipe.

Deepsea Ritualists should also be interrupted when they cast Unending Darkness so have an interrupt rotation for this spell. Allowing a couple to go through can be fatal.

Remove the Reanimated Bones buffs from Dredged Sailor with Purge. Can also have your Blood Elves use Arcane Torrent to remove them. Be cautious on Bolstering weeks as you will want to kill the Deepsea Ritualist first thus not to buff him with Bolstering stacks.

Tidesage Enforcers cast Deep Smash dealing frost damage and summoning multiple globules of water, dodge these swirl's on the ground.

Drowned DepthbringerAbyss Dweller

This is a good time to use Ancestral Guidance paired with Stormkeeper for some great off healing to help out your healer. There is quite a lot of damage going out to help to reduce the damage you take as well with Astral Shift.

Be sure to interrupt the Drowned Depthbringers when they cast Rip Mind as it has quite the impact on player's health pools. Void Bolt can be interrupted as well but be sure to have interrupts available for the more dangerous spells.

Abyss Dwellers cast Lash which can also be interrupted but since we are able to cleave easily with Chain Lightning in this area killing them as fast as possible is more productive. You can also AoE stun with Capacitor Totemand interrupt casts with Earthquake knockdowns if you are lucky.

Though this entire room can be skipped if you want to death run then Self Resurrect with Reincarnation. You can also use a Rogues Shroud of Concealment but this is better used up ahead.

Interrupt the Abyssal Cultists when they cast Detect Thoughtss and Consuming Void. Letting them go through will reduce the damage they take but if they do just Purge them off.
Move away from the effect of Mental Assault. It will stun you for 5 seconds and could be fatal.

The Colossal Tentacles must be tanked in melee range and they cast Colossal Slam so use a defensive when these go off. This is a good time to use your Earth Elemental to take some damage off the tank from the tentacles.

After crossing the bridge you will enter a bid open room called the Storms End chapel with rows of benches filled with Abyss Dwellers. AoE those down quickly as they cast Lash and there are a LOT of them. This is a good time to AoE stun them with Capacitor Totem and a great time to use Ancestral Guidance to help with off healing. We suggest to only pull one side at a time. And make sure to start the Rexar RP to save some time before you engage the boss.

Have an interrupt rotation set up to take care of Lord Stormsong's Void Bolt casts. 2 melee kicks should be able to handle this. Good thing Elemental Shaman have the best interrupt in the game. POG

If you have the Ancient Mindbender cast on you, you can run into the orbs to clear them and deal damage to break yourself out. If it isn't enough damage your party members have to switch, and attack you to break you out.

This is a movement heavy fight so keep yourself distanced from the orbs that are fixated on you and deal as much on the move damage as possible. Stopping to cast only when you have enough distance between you and the orbs.

Forgotten Denizen will cast Consume Essence, a long cast time ability that needs to be interrupted. It's better to prolong the interrupt until the end of the cast here and be sure to have interrupt rotations set up in your group for these adds. Focus one of them down to make the pull easier.

Sunken Denizen will need to be kited by the tank as they have increased auto attack damage. This is especially evident on higher level keys. They are pretty slow so kiting them in a small circle is easy to allow passive cleave by players.

Abyssal Eels have small health pools and can usually be pulled in multiple groups at a time. They apply a stacking debuff to players attacked by them so keep them under control if need be. They are not affected by certain affixes such as Sanguine, Bursting, or Bolstering.

During phase 1, Vol'zith the Whisperer will cast Whispers of Power on the Healer. This will buff their healing and damage but reduce their health to 10%.

During Phase 2, be sure to have strict interrupt rotations set up for the DPS in your group. Usually they are named Melee and Ranged adds to help with communication. The first Ranged cast of Consume Essence is okay to go through as long as your healer is not in the same realm as you. If any casts go off while the healer is there they will die.

After you return from phase 2 the boss will be be casting Grasp of the Sunken City and have a large shield. This is actually a really good time to take care of all the adds in the room if you skipped them prior to the boss. This is what most groups do as the healer does increased damage and can help kill the trash mobs faster.

After you interrupt the boss the Manifesation of the Deep can easily be kited by the tank. This is also a really good time to Bloodlust and use CDs. You can keep up one or two Flame Shock dots on them to help funnel more Lava Surge procs into the boss. As long as you aren't killing the adds.

If you did not kill the boss by now the phases will repeat.

The Kul Tiran Footman put Hindering Cut on the target they are attacking so let the tank pull so you can do your own job.

The Kul Tiran Halberd will cast a frontal cone ability called Slobber Knocker. Just make sure not to get hit by it.

The Kul Tiran Wavetender cast a buff on one of their allies called Watertight Shell. usually you want to interrupt this but if the spell gets off make sure to Purge it off the target. They will also cast Brackish Bolt, on higher keys these can really hurt especially on Fortified weeks so do interrupt them.

Kul Tiran Marksman hurt quite a bit with their Molten Slug cast that target random players. The damage cannot be avoided with interrupts but the mobs can be stunned/knocked back or line of sighted when the cast is going off. These guys are stationary ranged mobs so make sure to knock them out of Sanguine.

Kul Tiran Vanguards will cast Heavy Slash, a linear shockwave ability. Have a clear eye on where these mobs are facing at all times so you don’t get caught in one of the casts.

Iron Gaze / On the Hook will target a random ranged DPS or Healer. The strat is to kite him directly into the path of a Heavy Ordnance bomb that was chucked into the arena. Doing so will stop his cast, deal significant damage to him and disorient him for six seconds. He gains increasing movement speed with Boiling Rage so use Ghost Wolf if you really need to move fast.

If the channel is completed without the boss getting stunned the boss will then cast Hangman's Noose or Meat Hook, dragging a player into his hit box then finally finishing the combo with Steel Tempest or Gore Crash. If you get hooked just make sure to be in Ghost Wolf and don’t fight it. Go to the boss and pop a defensive and run out asap. You MAY die…

CC the Kul Tiran Marksman with a Hex to prevent him from dealing unwanted damage over the fight. Keeping them CC’d will also prevent more marksmen from spawning.

Let the Tank deal with the Kul Tiran Vanguard to safely face them away from the group when they cast their Heavy Slash ability.

Ashvane Commander’s use Trample. Watch out for this as it will target a random player and stunns them for 2 seconds. They will also use Bolstering Shout which is uninterruptible and buffs nearby enemies. Just Spam Purge these buffs off of the enemies.

Irontide Raiders are usually skipped as they are quite dangerous. Hug the water behind the house.

There are some Scrimshaw Gutters fighting across the water. These are some easy percentage as you can just Chain Lightning the mobs to tag and have them killed.

Before you reach the ship area there there will be a pack of Irontide Powdershots and a Spotter firing squad. Be sure to hide behind the crates as your tank goes up and stops them from firing.

Ashvane Spotters will cast Sighted Artillery on random players. This ability is very useful to help clear some of the trash for you though take in mind it won’t have any effect on the Ashvane Commanders and Ashvane Cannoneers.

Ashvane Deckhands will cast Crimson Swipe dealing damage in a cone so don’t stand in their path.

Do your best to dodge Dread Volley bolts as they land. They are mostly random but staying near the back of the room will give you the most time to react when they are going out.

Ashvane Deckhands can actually be CC’s on the ship using Hex. This prevents them from jumping down off the ship and keeps more Ashvane Deckhands from spawning later.

Dread Captain Lockwood will actually jump down off the ship on her own if no one fires the cannon. If the first group of adds were not killed more will spawn and the boss will come to the arena. A good Strategy is to keep the Cannoneer alive up until she is is about to transition again then kill the Ashvane Cannoneer and immediately blast her off the ship.

Similar to the Kul Tiran Vanguard from earlier the Bilge Rat Demolishers will cast Crushing Slam in a straight line in the direction of the tank. Just make sure you know where the Demo is facing.

Demolishers will also cast Terrifying Roar, causing all players within 10 yards to be feared for 4 seconds. Just help your melee out and tell them you will Tremor Totem the effect, they will be happy you did.

Try to stun or knockdown the Bilge Rat Buccaneers as often as you can with Earthquake or Capacitor Totem as their cast Banana Rampage is quite annoying. Especially if you get stunned by multiple bananas in a row.

Make sure you interrupt the Bilge Rat Tempest from casting either Choking Waters or Revitalizing Mist.

Usually groups will skip the majority of this trash since there is no Spotter to help out. Some groups will back track a bit with the Spotter coming up.

Ashvane Sniper

Groups will usually CC all four snipers and let the Spotter do all the hard work here. But if they get loose quickly AoE them down and rotate Stuns with Capacitor Totem. These guys hurt a lot.

Be careful when doing this area as agroing the boss will pull the entire boss area of trash, unless of course that’s what you want.

Ashvane Commanders cannot be affected by the Spotters Sighted Artillery so keep that in mind when doing this area with the spotter.

Be sure to Purge the Ashvane Destroyers when they cast Ferocity on themselves, gaining 65% bonus haste.

The Ashvane Invaders will cast Stinging Venom Coating, which buffs their melee attacks.

To be safe from Tidal Surge you must stand on the opposite side of the centre statue from the direction the wave is coming. Tidal Surge will also clear any Brine Pool it passes over.

Make sure to not be standing directly near the centre statue to allow easy movement to dodge waves throughout the fight. Tidal Surge will spawn swirls underneath players.

Use your defensives, healing pots and self heal a bit to help the healer out with Break Water damage. This ability hurts quite a bit.

Don’t stand in front of the boss or you may get smacked with the tank ability Crashing Tide.

These Terrors can actually be stunned with Capacitor Totem so keep that in mind if your tank can’t make it to them in time before they start casting Hull Cracker.

A total of 5 Demolishing Terrors will spawn on each platform so there is a limit to them.

You can keep Flame Shock up easily on two Terrors and the Boss for extra Lava Surge procs.

You can also use Water Walking to cross the water.

On the next platforms Demolishing Terrors will not start to spawn unless you engage the Gripping Terror so keep that in mind.

Use Astral Shift or self heal to reduce the impact Putrid Waters will have on you. This helps out healers.

Eradication is very deadly so dodge the swirls on the ground with Ghost Wolf!

Players should dodge this attack at all costs as it hurts a lot. Neurotoxin is a poison cast on players that will put them to sleep if they move within the 4 second duration. If you have to move make sure to drop a Tremor Totem to get the sleep effect off of you.

Sandfury Stonefists will cast Ground Pound, dealing AoE damage around it and knocking players back.

Charged Dust Devils should have an interrupt rotation going on there Healing Surge and Lightning Bolt spells.

Krolusk Pups will cast Head Slam at random party member, this will interrupt your casts and knock anyone within 2 yards. Just don’t be standing on anyone.

Have an interrupt assignments set up for the Faithless Tenders. Tenders will cast Greater Healing Potion. They will only cast this every so often so each player that can interrupt on a short cooldown should be assigned.

Faithless Tenders will also run to the closest egg and start casting Drain on it. If the cast finishes they will be given the buff Embryonic Vigor. This ability can be dispelled with Purge but just stun them with Capacitor Totem or interrupt the cast with Hex. Displacement effects do not cancel the cast.

Crazed Incubators will cast Lightning in a Bottle, this can also be interrupted but if the cast goes off just move out of the ground effect.

In the first phase 1 try to bait as many Noxious Breath casts onto the outer ring of the room. Have the whole group stack and tank the boss facing the outer ring. This will free up needed space for the rest of the phases.

The Dust Cloud ability cast by the Sand-crusted Strikers can effect the boss as well. Make sure to kite the snakes out of the cloud and kill them quickly to despawn any Dust Clouds.

Some groups will use Shroud of Concealment here to get into the boss room and just deal with the Dervishs but you can also hug the left side and CC the Imbued Stormcaller to make it past also by just pulling the one Agitated Nimbus in with the first group of Dervishs.

The Static-charged Dervish, when pulled in numbers, can be quite healing intensive as they constantly cast Electrocute and will stay stationary until they cast Spark. Don’t get hit by Spark it does a lot of damage.

This is a good time to use Ancestral Guidance to help with off healing.

This is an extremely healing intensive fight so help your healer out where you can by using Astral Shift or Harden Skin, if your Earth Elemental is available, when you are soaking pillars. Ancestral Guidance is also very powerful on this boss when combined with Healing Surge.

Communication is pretty important on this boss especially in higher keys so don’t be shy to use voice comms when calling out soaks for Energy Cores.

As a Shaman we can use Ghost Wolf to carry the orbs quite easily. Since carrying the Orb reduces movement speed drastically and Ghost Wolf can not be hindered in movement speed past 100% we are exceletent Orb Carriers.

One trick you can do with the orb is to throw it ahead of yourself and pick it up again to speed up the carrying process. You can throw it to your teammates as well that may be waiting to “dunk” the orb.

There will be a few Stealthed Orb Guardians stationed around the room. Usually you will find one at each orb.

Orb Guardians are the biggest threat in this area due to them picking up the orbs to bring them back. So keeping them CC’d is a good idea here.

Groups will usually skip all of this trash by either having a Rogue in the group with Shroud of Concealment or death skip. If you are going to death skip MAKE SURE you will resurrect on top of the Blue Diamond just up the stairs to the final boss. This is perfectly our of proximity aggro from all mobs. The upper portion of the Diamond should be your point of resurrection. Reincarnation skips come in handy here.

Hoodoo Hexer will cast Lava Burst, this should be interrupted as it's a hard hitting spell. Have an interrupt rotation when doing the mobs surrounding the final boss.

Heart Guardians will put a debuff on their target and do a lot of damage, they should be your primary focus.

Plague Doctors will cast Chain Lightning on random targets and Snake Charm. Make sure to interrupt these as well when you face them.

If you are going to be skipping the trash here you should backtrack (drag all the mobs into the boss room to kill them there) in the last phase of the boss while you have the buff she gives you. Making it easy to make up the percentage.

Plague Toads can put a nasty healing debuff on your healer called Plague. Either soak them yourself or kill as many as you can before they reach the healer.

This boss is more of a healing intense fight, so help heal the boss with Healing Surge in the downtime phases to help your healers mana pool.

The mobs in this fight are pretty spread out. Try to constantly keep your Flame Shock up on as many targets as you can.

Cardiac Shock swirls will spawn underneath players, watch out for them!

The vendors also cast Kaja'Cola Refresher on themselves or other enemies healing them. This should also be interrupted as it can’t be dispelled.

Off-Duty Laborers will chunk people with Throw Wrench so watch out tank!

Mech Jockeys are the more interesting type of mob as they have certain interactions with other mobs. Mech Jockeys will attempt to run to a nearby Mechanized Peacekeeper. If you do not wish to pull a Peacekeeper either stun or cc the Mech Jockey.

Mech Jockeys will also give you double the allotted trash percentage if you kill them inside of the Mechanized Peacekeepers. Peacekeepers are also very manageable as long as the tank moves away when they use Charged Shield. If a Mech Jockey is left outside of a Mechanized Peacekeeper they will cast Concussion Charge on their own. It's best to move out of the effect as it can quite easily one shot players on weeks with affixes such as Raging, Fortified or Bolstering.

Hired Assassins are the more dangerous mobs. They have two abilities that the group need to pay attention to. Toxic Blades should be interrupted. And Fan of Knives can only be interrupted via displacement, knock back or stun such as Thunderstorm or Capacitor Totem.

Finally Addled Thugs will use the ability Inhale Vapors on themselves. Try to interrupt these casts as well as the buff is quite nasty when combined with their Clothesline ability.

It’s important to save cooldowns such as Storm Elemental and Stormkeeper for when the boss is taking increased damage thanks to Footbomb Launcher.

Bombs have a limited duration of time until they explode on the party. You can prolong the vulnerability window the boss will have by

waiting until the last second on the last bomb to kick it into the boss.

Bloodlust is also useful to use after the first Static Pulse goes off.

A unique thing with Shocking Claw is that it will always target Melee members of your group. Having them bait the ability away from the healer and ranged players will be beneficial for movement.

Static Shock can really hurt so it’s important to use Astral Shift and self heal if need be with Healing Surge to help out your healer a bit.

If you can, try to not pull the Azerite Extractors. They do a lot of damage to your tank and cannot be crowd controlled. They take up quite a bit of extra time to deal with.

Weapons Testers will also cast Echo Blade dealing damage in a frontal cone. The tank should point these guys away from other players.

Venture Co. Alchemists need to be interrupted when they cast Transmute: Enemy to Goo. It’s a polymorph effect for 10 seconds.

Venture Co. Masterminds deal a ton of damage when they cast Mind Lash on players, so if its cast on you, use a defensive or self heal. They will also cast Azerite Injection which heals themselves and nearby allies. Purge this effect. Leech Globule will be cast at random players, moving in a straight line and siphoning health from any player near them.

Venture Co. Masterminds also have Truesight making it difficult to stealth past them. Usually groups will death run and battle res a player at the boss. You can also use Reincarnation if a battle res was not successful. Just make sure your res is safe to use.

Expert Technicians will cast Repair on a nearby Venture Co. War Machine to heal them. This ability can only be interrupted with displacement abilities such as Thunderstorm, Deathgrip or Ring of Peace.

Finally Venture Co. Skycorchers will cast AAzerite Heartseeker on random targets. This ability should be soaked by the tank or the player must use a defensive.

Homing Missile will prioritize on ranged players so as an Elemental Shaman you will most likely be dealing with a lot of these.
Gatling Gun does a ton of damage so when it is going off try to stay in melee range of the boss to better dodge the ability. Make sure you run back out for the Homing Missiles though

B.O.O.M.B.As will be hovering above the boss area throughout the entire phase 1 and will indicate the direction they will be casting Micro Missiless. This will make it easier for your group to pick a safe spot to stand for them.

In phase 2 you will want to always be at a Big Red Rocket in case you get picked for Drill Smash. You can easily keep up Flame Shock on the boss and the two Venture Co. Skyscorchers for extra Lava Surge procs to help with damage.

There is a good strategy some groups use if they have heavy ranged in the group. The tank positions the boss at the top of the stairs of the entrance to the boss area. The ranged can stand further down the hill so when Homing Missiles go out they don’t have to move. When Mini Missiles go out the group also has a much easier time dodging them since they don’t go on the stairs.

The Underrot Ticks will cast Blood Burst when they die. This can be deadly especially on certain affixes so try to stagger them.

The Fetid Maggot will cast Rotten Bile, a frontal cone nuke that will face random players. These can be interrupted however with displacement or stun abilities. Make use of Thunderstorm and Capacitor Totem here.

The Chosen Blood Matron have two abilities to watch out for. The first one is Savage Cleave, the Matron will charge towards a random player and cast Savage Cleave. This can be interrupted with a Death Knights Death Grip. You should have plenty of time to move however since there is a wined up for the cast. Chosen Blood Matron will also cast Warcry, buffing any other mobs in the area with increased damage. This buff can be removed with a Soothe effect.

Fanatic Headhunters wil cast Hooked Snare, this can be a deadly combo if you pulled a Chosen Blood Matron with Savage Cleave. A Paladins Blessing of Freedom or a Druids Shapeshift abilities can remove the snare.

Finally Devout Blood Priests have two abilities to note. The group must always try to interrupt Dark Reconstitution as it will heal other nearby enemies. The Priests will also cast Gift of G'huun, buffing other nearby mobs, increasing their damage and preventing them from dying as well. You can Purge this effect so it's not as important if a cast of this gets off.

Your group will want to go down the path that has the least amount of Chosen Blood Matrons on it.

One your group has killed the pathing Matron group the center of the bridge having the other mobs with the Befouled Spirit is usually skipped with Shroud of Concealment or a death run. It just takes up too much time.

If your group will not be able to do either keep in mind the casts the new mob Befouled Spirit will cast. Dark Omen will target a party member, channeling splash damage to them and anyone near them within 4 yards.

Harrowing Despair is the main worry for this mob. This ability should always be interrupted or it will deal massive AoE damage to your group and most likely wipe you.

Your group will want to have a strict interrupt rotation on the boss and Blood Effigy when they cast Blood Bolt. These hit pretty hard especially on higher keys.

Don’t be in the way of Creeping Rot when it is cast. It’s pretty easy to dodge.

Blood Effigy should be your priority when they spawn as killing them sooner will make the fight much easier to manage.

Your group will want to set up interrupt assignments for most of the trash in this room.

Feral Bloodswarmers are another dangerous mob. They will fixate on players with their Thirst For Blood spell, dealing increased melee damage to them. It is important to keep them slowed or rooted or stunned when the fixate is occurring to try and reduce the amount of damage the player will take. Additionally the Feral Bloodswarmer will also cast Sonic Screech, dealing AoE damage to the entire group this should be interrupted.

Avoid standing in front of the boss for Indigestion.

Fallen Deathspeakers will cast Raise Dead so be sure to interrupt them. Otherwise you will have to deal with more Reanimated Guardians.

Deathspeakers will also cast Wicked Frenzy on themselves. If there is a Soothe spell in your comp get rid of the buff.

Once you run near a burrowed Grotesque Horror they will begin to cast Void Spit. Your group should have an interrupt rotation for this spell as it does massive party wide damage.

The Corruptors will also cast Abyssal Reach, summoning various tentacle that will smash the ground in the cone towards players. Watch out for them!

Group together to remove everyones Putrid Blood stacks when Titan Keeper Hezrel casts Cleansing Light on a player.

Try to bait the casts of Vile Expulsion away from the centre of the room and towards previous casts of the ability. Moving the boss in a clockwise or counter-clockwise pattern around the room. This will conserve space.

Sometimes you can cleave off the boss with Chain Lightning onto the Rotting Spores to generate extra Maelstrom. This is only worth it if you can hit 4 or more targets.

Your tank needs to be very cognizant of the Sewer Vicejaws. They will cast Massive Chomp on their target significantly reducing the targets health pool and it stacks! Kite these mobs.

When pulling the Silt Crabs they will often cast Squeeze on anyone within melee range of them. They can be interrupted with knockdowns, stuns or displacements. So be sure to use Capacitor Totem and your Earthquake. Thunderstorm as a last resort as you can easily pull other mobs with it.

Stinging Parasite apply a debuff called Itchy Bite. They don't have much health but the tank or healer can be overrun by the damage.

Upheaval will be cast on random players from time to time. Make sure you have a defensive ready if it targets you! This hits super hard so play smart with your defensive cooldowns.

The Sand Queen will stack Enrage on her whenever a Buzzing Drone dies around her. This can be avoided by having a Druid or Hunter in your group with a Soothe effect. But Enrage has an effect on both Upheaval and Sandstorm damage.

A Rogue with Lockpicking or player with Inscription (Scroll of Unlocking) can open the short cut to skip the Sewer Vicejaw that scour the lowest section of the prison.

If you took the shortcut, your group can skip the Irontide Thug by having your Tank pull him by himself and drag the crocs away from the rest of the group. Your group can then hug the wall and slip by through the door. Allow your tank to die and then have your healer Mass res him.

If you aren't skipping the Irontide Thug make sure to interrupt Debilitating Shout. This will prolong the fight unnecessarily.

By freeing friendly prisoners your party will receive permanent buffs for the rest of the dungeon that persist through death. Based of the type of prisoner that you free a certain buff will be applied.

Orc/Dwarf – 10% Attack power
Blood Elf/Gnome – 10% Intellect
Tauren/Draenei – 1% Mana/Health every sec
Undead/Human – 10% bonus Stamina

Cutwater Striker and Blacktooth Arsonist will cast Throw Rock and Torch Strike respectively. These abilities can really ramp up on higher difficulty keys especially on Fortified weeks. The Strikers are also stationary mobs so you may need to either Line of Sight them or Death Grip them into the pack that you are fighting.

The Strikers and Arsonitsts will also run away when they reach low health. Earthbind Totem and Capacitor Totem are really useful to keep them from running off and bringing other mobs.

Bilge Rat Looters cast Darkstep jumping behind their target and buffing themselves for 12 seconds. This can be dispelled with Purge, try to dispel it as often as possible.

Bilge Rat Seaspeakers will cast Watery Dome and Salt Blast. Be sure to interrupt Watery Dome as it puts a large shield on all enemies nearby. If the cast goes off be sure to Purge the shield off of mobs. Salt Blast should be interrupted as long as you are able to easily deal with Watery Dome casts.

Groups will usually skip the pack of three just up the first staircase to enter this floor. Having a Rogue in the group you can Shroud of Concealment past these mobs by hugging the wall.

In Phase 1 have an interrupt rotation going in your group to deal with Howling Fear though because of our short cd interrupt Wind Shear, we can get every single interrupt in Phase 1 if we interrupt late.

Flashing Daggers needs to be line of sighted or it will most likely one shot you. Have your tank position the boss where he starts and use the corners of the prison to LoS the cast.

If Jes Howlis gets any casts of Motivating Cry on himself in Phase 2 be sure to Purge the effect.

In Phase 2 make sure to have another interrupt rotation assigned for your group and use Tremor Totem as a backup if a cast of Howling Fear is going to go off.

On Necrotic weeks it may be a smarter play to go around and open up the prisons with a Rogue or a player with Inscription (Scroll of Unlocking) before the boss encounter. Kill the mobs inside while pulling the other trash on this floor.

The Thug and Bilge Rat Looters will be dealt with in the same way in the first pull you do here.

The Ashvane Jailer casts Riot Shield, reducing and redirecting all magic damage to the Jailer. Our Earthquake can knock them down but it also does Physical damage bypassing the DR. They can also be stunned so take advantage of Capacitor Totem to interrupt this cast.

Ashvane Officers will cast Handcuff which silences and damages the player it is cast on. The cast and channel effect can both be interrupted.

Ashvane Flamecasters cast Fuselighter and Blaze, both spells can be interrupted if you need them to position better for the canon.

Ashvane Marine is a stationary mob that casts Shoot and Suppression Fire. They can be Line of Sighted around the corner of the prison to better position them. Ashvane Spotter use the same abilities.

At the canon it is recommended to deal with the mobs outside first then have your tank backtrack inside the prison to get the mobs the group needs for trash percentage.

Use Capacitor Totem, Earthbind Totem, Wind Shear, Earth Elemental and Thunderstorm to help keep mobs grouped up to make it easier to kill them with the canons.

Any party member can contribute to moving the barrels to a safe location. Usually the healer or tank will contribute the most in higher keys. It is best to group the barrels together when keeping them from chain reacting. You can use Ghost Wolf to move faster while carrying the barrels.

If Fuselighter is cast on you make sure to use a defensive if your healer will not be able to dispel you. Astral Shift or Harden Skin are your options here.

Remember the Ashvane Wardens will cast Lockdown. If you stand in this spell you will most likely die on higher keys.

Interrupt the Ashvane Priests when they cast Inner Flames and if they get any casts of the channel off make sure to Purge the effect off of the enemies.

This is a very healer intensive fight so help your healers out if they need it with off healing through Ancestral Guidance and Healing Surge.

If you are going to get two back to back Explosive Bursts then use Either Astral Shift or Harden Skin. Make sure to use the defensive just before the spell hits in order to use one defensive for two Explosive Bursts.

If you have a Demon Hunter in your group you can completely ignore the Deadeye mechanic. Have your Demon Hunter take the shot but just before it goes off they should use Blade Dance to Dodge the incoming damage.

If you don’t have a Demon Hunter in your group you will have to rotate players soaking the Deadeye.

The best spot to tank the boss is a corner utilizing the stairs and walls to limit how much your group members get knocked back from the abilities while keeping enough distance to not overlap Explosive Bursts.

Bewitched Captain will cast Spirited Defense which can be Purged or interrupted.

Enthralled Guards will cast Shadow Cleave damaging anyone infront of them so watch out!

Prior to the boss fight you will want to use Thunderstorm without pull the the boss with it. This is because Sister Solena will cast Soul Manipulation to mind control a random DPS. Casting the spell before this goes off will insure that it is not used on your party members whilst mind controlled.

Groups will usually Bloodlust this boss either at the start or second Witch. If you do not have it available consider clearing trash in other wings until you do.

When Sister Malady is holding the Iris and Aura of Dread is active you will want to be moving as much as you can to keep your stacks low. This is also a good time to use Ancestral Guidance to help with off healing when Unstable Runic Mark is cast. You can also cleanse your own curse from the mark with Cleanse Spirit.

Sister Briar will cast Jagged Nettles on a random party member. If she is casting it on you make sure to use Astral Shift or be prepared to self heal with Healing Surge to get the debuff off.

Aura of Thorns from Sister Briar isn’t much of an issue as long as you are controlling your damage when Jagged Nettles is cast on you.

If Dire Ritual is going to go off try and use a defensive. It isn’t avoidable damage as Elemental Shaman.

Have an interrupt rotation going for this boss, only interrupt the boss carrying the Focusing Iris

The party will want to take care of the Jagged Hounds running around the courtyard first. If pulled correctly they won’t bring in additional mobs. They will die pretty quickly so keep that in mind if you want to pull bigger here.

Coven Thornshapers will cast Infected Thorn and Effigy Reconstruction, both of which can be interrupted and on Fortified weeks Infected Thorn hurts a lot. Effigy Reconstruction MUST be interrupted or it will heal a other mobs to full, wasting lots of time.

Thornshapers will also cast Soul Fetish, this isn’t the highest priority to interrupt. Upon death they will buff another nearby enemy with 5 stacks of Soul Fetish increasing their damage per stack. Just get ready to Purge spam if you need to.

Your tank can move some of the mobs in this area into the fire that spawns to help deal damage to them.

Groups usually always Bloodlust this boss, if you don’t have it available consider clearing some of the other wings of trash until you do.

When Soul Thorns is cast the boss does not target anyone. One trick to do here is to actually Ghost Wolf right before the cast finishes. If the boss was casting the Soul Thorns on you Ghost Wolf will immune the effect.

Burning Brush can be pretty healing intensive especially at high stacks. This is a good time to use Astral Shift or Harden Skin if Earth Elemental isn’t needed for trash coming up. This is also an ideal time to help your healer out with the Ancestral Guidance and Healing Surge combo. Be cognizant of getting healer aggro from the Burning Souls that spawn from the boss being on fire.

Devouring Maggots cast Spit and with multiple maggots in some of the groups here, having multiple go off on one target can be devastating so they are pretty healing intensive. Be sure to keep an eye on your debuffs to properly help out your healer.

The Maggots also cast Infest which needs to be interrupted as much as possible. If one gets off, the target cast upon will spawn more maggots.

When Infected Peasants die they will spawn more maggots.

Pallid Gorger will cast Ravaging Leap and Retch. Be sure to not be in there way when they are casting Retch.

Be extra careful in this hallway when it comes to weeks that have Bolstering as an affix.

Be sure to interrupt Banquet Stewards when they cast Dinner Bell.

Pulls in this room are dangerous if you stay in the room, you risk pulling the boss who can not be reset. Usually groups will pull the mobs and bring them outside of the boss room.

Maddened Survivalists will throw Freezing Trap and Shrapnel Trap. Just don’t stand in these for obvious reasons.

These pulls can be healing intensive as well so make use of Ancestral Guidance and off healing.

This fight is an Elemental Shamans dream. You will want to deal with the adds that spawn and can do so easily with our Chain Lightning and Earthquake.

Be sure to Stun the Wasting Servants as they get close enough to all get hit by Capacitor Totem before they are eaten up by Consume Servant. Use the talent Static Charge to be able to stun every pack of Wasting Servants.

If you have Stormkeeper up and adds are spawned consider pairing your damage cooldown with a cast of Ancestral Guidance if the group needs some healing.

The tank can bait out Tenderize so that the rest of the group has an easier time dealing with the movement.

Groups will typically skip most of the trash down here with either a Shroud of Concealment from a Rogue or a death skip. This area just isn’t worth the time investment and other groups of trash are more efficient to pull.

Matron Alma will cast Ruinous Volley, dealing damage to everyone in your group if it isn’t interrupted. Usually she is skipped and you can actually walk past her into the stairway once she is at the end of her pat.

Marked Sisters will cast Runic Mark which you can dispel with Cleanse Spirit. Be sure to have the target away from any group members as you dispel them.

Coven Diviners will cast Consumed Soul Fragment giving them up to 5 stacks of the Soul Fetish buff. Just spam Purge this effect.

Coven Diviners will also cast Warding Candles so make sure to move the mobs out of the area of effect.

It’s important to always be interrupting the Heartsbane Soulcharmer whenever she casts Soul Volley. This is a group wide damaging ability.

Off healing can be very crucial in this fight depending on the healer so be prepared to help out with Ancestral Guidance and Healing Surge. Especially when Virulent Pathogen goes out on players.

Lady Waycrest will cast Discordant Cadenza which create purple swirls around the room. Just dodge these to help out the healers mana pool.

Be sure to have Cooldowns when Lady Waycrest joins the fight. This is the hardest point in the fight so you will want to kill Lord Waycrest ASAP from this point on (Bloodlust if you aren’t holding it for Gorak Tul).

Have an Interrupt rotation going for when Lady Waycrest casts Wracking Chord.

Gloom Horrors will leap to the furthest player away from the group with Dark Leap. A good strategy is to have the tank kite back and forth to bait the leaps.

This is a good time to Use Earth Elemental and try and kite them back and forth to take damage off the tank.

Also make good use of Ancestral Guidance here and Capacitor Totem on these mobs.

Keep adds from casting Death Lens by either using Thunderstorm to knock them away or Capacitor Totem to stun them.

If Dread Essence is about to go off and adds won’t be killed in time, hold off on funneling Maelstrom into the adds as it will be just wasted damage.

Groups will usually Bloodlust on this boss if it is available. Especially on Tyrannical weeks.
