This is a bit difficult as you must get Unkthor when he is not in submissve mode. Ogres are easy kills but a fast respawn rate makes it hard as well as dealing with the opposite faction doing similar quests. If someone else tags Unkthor while you are in range, you can use him to get the quest. If you arrive after the "sumbmission" you are out of luck till he drops into hostile and repeats the event.

You can find Unkor in the center. You can pull him without pull the other two ogres near him. Move him back a little and you should be just fine.

The quest works fine. You can defeat Unkor before you kill 10 Invaders. However, the quest might bug out for you if Unkor is already submissive when you start the quest. In that case, he will eventually run off and despawn. Just abandon the quest and retake it after he despawns.

after killing the 10 ogres, I then started beating Unkor, when he got down to about 30% he went submissive and had a silver ? pop up over his head, but the quest didnt complete, after about 3 min. Unkor then got up and ran away. When he respawned I then attacked him again and at 30% he went submissive again and this time he had the yellow ? over his head. I was able to complete the quest by talking to him. Didnt have to abandon and restart the quest at all.

This is a terrible quest. I beat him with 9 ogres, and he wouldn't complete the quest. I killed another ogre while he was sitting there, and he wouldn't complete the quest. I waited for him to reset (which takes over 5 minutes) and beat him again, and he still wouldn't complete. I had to abandon the quest and redo it. Unfortunately this leads to the Blademaster chain, so I couldn't just abandon it.

FYI, you can kill him with a powerful attack if you're not careful, or are trying to. I killed him with a Curse of Doom. He only takes 2-3 minutes to respawn if he dies though.

Kill Unkor First, you will need to kill all 10 Invaders prior to killing him.

If you do so, he will sit down with the silver question mark above his head, and you will have to wait for him to despawn//respawn. Was approximate 10 min wait.

Quest should be an easy solo for all @ lvl 64.

When it comes to DoT's, it seems they really do bug him. So use "instant" dmg when you fight him.
It might not count all the time but i tried him once with deadly poison, he buged, removed deadly poison and he was no longer bugged the second time i got him.
If you got time, stay and watch his fellow ogres dance! Funny sight.

I killed the 10 in the process sapping Unkar. I did not however get aggro of him.

The quest bugged and I had to wait for him to despawn. So if you're a Rogue don't bother sapping him and wasting yourtime.

Unkor is the two headed ogre in the center of the village. Invaders only have one head.

Confirmed that DoTs will bug the quest.
Killed all 10 Intruders first then blasted Unkor with Pyroblast/Fireball etc (fire spec mage). Unkor sat down and "complete quest" was greyed out in the dialogue when I right-clicked him.
Waited a bit for him to run off and respawn. Attacked with only frost/arcane spells (no DoTs) and was able to complete with no fuss.

About all those posts about how you have to kill 10 ogres before you submit Unkor, as of today, I killed I think the 2 other ogres that surround him around the bonfire, then I continued to kill Unkor till he submitted. Apparently he had a gray question mark over his head like any other uncompleted quest. But to revoke the comments about how you have to kill the ogres BEFORE you submit Unkor, I managed to finish off the other ogres that I needed for the 10, but.. he still completed for me, even though I submitted him after I killed the other ogres. They may have changed that in a patch or something, but I would not know since this is my 1st horde main.

You get credit from Unkor if someone else is beating Him.

I was on quest and I had 2/10 ogres killed, while lvl 70 shaman came in and took Unkor down.
I got message on My screen, that "Unkor Submits - Completed" or something similar. After that I killed rest od the ogres and after 10th kill, yellow ? appeared over Unkor's head and I was able to finish that quest.

This was done after patch 3.0.2

I just killed him, thinking it would stop automatically like most of these "beat this guy up" quests. Unfortunately, I should have listened to the title -- Don't Kill the Fat One. I am currently waiting for him to respawn.

Currently BUGGED!. Cannot get credit for the Invader kills, but i can make Unkor submit. It doesn't matter what i do, i currently cannot get any credit for killing the Invaders, anyone else having this problem?

You don't have to kill the Boulderfist Invaders first. I got Unkor to submit with only 5 killed. I think that all you have to get him to submit is kill the 2 invaders around him.

They must have fixed this in a recent patch or something, because I had no problems with it at all. After killing 3 ogres (including the two dancing in front of Unkor), I beat him down 'til he turned green. Then he just sat there with a silver question mark over his head until I killed the other 7 ogres I needed. Soon as the last one dropped, the question mark turned yellow and I could turn it in at the still-friendly Unkor.

I had no problems today with this quest. Killed 10 of the Boulderfist Invaders and when it came up Unkor, he submitted without much fight. I had my pet help drop his HP down to about 40% then put him on passive while I did the rest. He surrendered and the yellow question mark rose up. Hope they managed to fix this with the latest patch.

I know this may be tedious, but I find that you need to only accept the quest when he is up (hostile - not green and sitting down) and you must kill the 10 ogres FIRST, before attacking him.

Attacking him before you have killed your 10, or killing the 10 while he is not hostile seems to not give you credit. If he is sitting down because someone else just did the quest, don't kill the mobs.

So wait until the entire quest has reset, all mobs up and red, then accept the first quest, kill the 10, then kill him. I've done it twice that way and it worked for me.

Fire mages: This quest can be quite frustrating because of the DoT bug and the fact that we cannot control when our DoTs activate with ignite. Use frost and arcane spells to beat down Unkor. An ignite on him when he goes friendly will cause him to bug out.

I did this quest, so that each of the 3 first mob was killed at once. I waited until re-spawn. Because they died at different times, so one by one re-spawn. Slammed them again one by one. The last mobnak 3000 survived, and gave the mission.

Haven't been able to complete this quest after patch 4.1. I killed 10 invaders, attacked Unkor and as soon as he submits the quest just resets itself and cannot be completed. Tried it multiple times, doesn't work for me...

Completed this quest now, ofc one-shotted him the first time (feral druid), second try I shifted to travel form and hit him twice and he started spilling. :) So worked for me atleast.

Doing this quest today the tracker was bugged. It stayed 0/10 invaders on the quick track and in the log, even though the mouseover of the ogres or corpses had the correct count. After beating down Unkor I was able to turn it in. So don't worry if the kill count doesn't increment for you.

Just as a heads up for those going back and doing this quest in Cata, Unkor can be one shot. You will have to wait for him to respawn if you go all RAWR hulk strength on him. So maybe just take off your gear or something so your dot/melee swing/spell w/e doesn't kill him in one go without giving him a chance to submit.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

This quest is still bugged. Killed 10 Ogres before attempting him beat on him with my DK until he submitted. Gray question mark appeared over his head and can't complete. Its been literally years, you would think a developer could spend an hour or two fixing this.

Used Seal of Truth and Judgment with Burden of Guilt Talent the first time and he bugged out on me.

Used Seal of Righteousness and NO Judgement the second time and did not bug out.

This quest works fine, just don't go terminator style on his ass. just ungear and slash yer sword few times. paladins should watch out when slashing him cause it DoT's him, when it does just stop attacking wait for DoT's to go and slash him again few times untill he submits.

did this as a 71 pala with looms, first time he didn't stand a chance, avengers shield just critted him and he died :S

If you are level 90 - you will kill him, and have to wait for a respawn. Be sure to take all your gear off then just autoattack and you should complete the quest.

Did this today(6/19/13) as level 90 Frost DK IL 466. Didn't take any gear off just did not attack but tossed down my Death and Decay and let it do all the work. It ticked for almost 2k each time and he turned green with a yellow question mark above his head before he could die.

I killed the 10 ogres, then went to see him, but he was already friendly and had the silver ?, I'm guessing left over from someone else. After he respawned I hit him with an Icy Touch, which infected him with frost fever, but he still completed correctly, so either the DoT effect has been fixed or Frost Fever isn't enough to trigger the bug.

He takes a very long time to respawn and now at level 90, unlike other quests where you can wail on them and they stop at 1 hp, he will die with one hit.
Solution is to just unequip all armor/weapons and go to town on him with your fists.

Also note that as Undead, these type of quests where you must use an item at a certain % of hp or something along those line are a HUGE pain due to our racial Touch of the Grave which does a set amount of damage, regardless of armor being worn.
Using an ability like Thunder Clap was good at first but the racial procs off of melee, special attacks and their DoTs, and it did proc from Deep Wounds.

If you are using your fists, I would suggest attacking one of the other ogres first to proc the racial first, as I am assuming it has an ICD, I've never seen it proc back-to-back, then start wailing on Unkor.

Just went back to do this on my level 90 Undead Monk.
First try, he was borked friendly and I had to wait for reset.
Second try, he died immediately because I didn't strip enough off.
Third Try, I stripped naked, beat on him a several times... and Touch of the Grave killed him.
Fourth Try, I tried again, and Touch of the Grave killed him again.
Fifth Try, I put on about 3 or 4 pieces of gear, hit him once or twice and finally hit the sweet spot, and was able to turn it in.

Moral of the story is: if you're an undead, make sure you have enough gear on to hit him a coupe of times to get him to 30%, because if you have on no gear/weapons and are doing tiny bits of damage several times, you will proc Touch of the Grave and kill him.

Helpful tip for level 90 DKs looking to do this quest, placing down Death and Decay should do just the right amount of damage to get him into the sweet spot for quest completion without having to strip naked. I'm sure similar spells will also do the trick.

As of 5.4.7, I can't seem to get Touch of the Grave to proc from wanding something. It not only worked flawlessly on Unkor, but I couldn't get it to proc off of any other mobs. So if you're an Undead caster, wanding seems like a sure thing to complete this quest.

Tried doing the quest on my priest. Equipped fishing pole and melee-ed the life out of him. Took me like 2mins to get him down. Popped a crystal of Insanity as well to increase the damage i was doing. Went very well.

At level 90+ this guy can be killed one-shot even when you are naked. To solve this issue and finish the quest, get rez sickness - strip naked and die, resurrect using the spirit at the graveyard, then attack. The damage reduction should decrease your damage enough to make sure you don't kill him.

Ok high levels...

Some report they kill him no matter the state of undress, others say small DoTs will do the trick. I may as well throw in my two-cents and post here what worked.

For Mage, Warlocks, Rogues and Hunters, this is what works every-time for me...

First if you have the legend cape remove it.
Remove your weapon.
Remove your helm if it is socketed with meta/legend gems.
If you have trinkets which proc AoEs or damage aids (not stat boosters), remove those.
If you have tier gear bonuses remove a piece to break it.
Dismiss all pets.

Next settle in for a boring fist fight. That's it, no need to worry about auto attack just start smacking him down.

If you have removed every piece which can proc a mighty blow, adds or AoE damage your bare fists will chip away at Unkor 1 point at a time until he submits. It's slow, not so slow you can go make a cupa and return but you will be there for a few mins. There are times he will sit at a % for a bit but then he will slowly start going down again.

Hot Tip: If someone wants a invite to get credit make sure they are either naked or make them stay away or their trinks/capes/helms/etc can proc and then you have to start all over again. Also it goes without saying if they're a pet class have them dismiss their pet, you never know.

*Disclaimer: Honestly ANY class could use this fist fight method, I just haven't tried it out on any other class to be certain it works.

This quest bugged for me today. First I killed the 10 ogres. Then I went to Unkor who was sitting down with a gray question mark above his head. I waited and he finally got up and ran off. I killed a few more ogres waiting for Unkor to respawn. He came back red and I started wailing on him and he went green and cried I submit I submit. However, the quest did not complete. So I abandoned the quest went back again killing the 10 and then facing off against Unkor. This time I carefully hit him a couple times until his health got low enough and then he got the yellow question mark above his head and the quest completed. So I am wondering if that is the trick. Just hit him 1,2 or 3 times depending on your level and hopefully you won't have to redo.

If you are a lvl 90 player farming the loremaster achievement like me, you may have trouble battling this guy because he simply dies with one hit even before going into submissive mode.
But don't worry, just look for some lvl 64-70 player in the area and invite him to party and help you.
You can type this in the chat to do so: /who z-"Terokkar Forest" 64-70.

At level 100 I killed this mob in one hit even while naked and with res sickness. To get around this get a level 60-70 to damage him for you, he will become friendly at 30%.

So as a 100 needing this quest for my lore master title here are some suggestions.

A) do not abandon the quest and retry it just because the "fat one" claims he has already submitted. He needs to take his sweet time refreshing, and by sweet time, I mean he's waitin for the watermelon to grow and be at the peek of sweetness.

B) If you kill him, you will not get credit and you will have to wait. AGAIN! My best solution is to party up with a lower level toon. Around 7 PM Eastern time there was about 5 of those little things beggin for me to help them kill the adds around, so just bargain. most will party with you. Well maybe not you specifically, I don't know you and you might be a tad bit hateful, but most people will party.

Anywho! hope this helps and happy questing (or lore mastering in my case!)

As a level 100 DK, i found that Outbreak works pretty well for this quest. It did take a little fine tuning.

When completely naked, 3 ticks of outbreak killed him, but 2 ticks of outbreak didn't get him low enough to satisfy the quest requirement. I got around this by wearing a bunch of random gear until my damage from outbreak was just high enough to get the mob low enough in 2 ticks (a single piece of lvl 100 gear was too much, 3 or 4 pieces of bc greens was perfect though).

Once he submits and becomes friendly, it does clear any debuffs (including diseases) that you have placed on him.

If your are level 100 trying to do this quest simply go buy some Rough Dynamite(or craft your own as engineer) off of the Auction House and throw it at him it should leave him around 1000 hp no other way to really do this without killing him.

Easiest thing to do if you are a 100 DK; Go use 'Control Undead' on a local 'undead' unit (northeast of quest zone), and use it to beat him down and use death coil to heal your minion.

At lvl 100, completely naked, with rez sickness, I'm still not able to get him low enough w/o killing him. In desperation I tried a Thick Pi'jiu Brew, and the Spectral Brewmaster went completely insane and killed half the encampment. /cry

I actually really enjoyed the challenge of this quest as a higher level character. We're always killing things but how often are you told NOT to kill something? As a level 100 Druid, I didn't see any tips on how to complete this and there were no lower level characters in the area, so I came up with a work-around and I thought I would share.

To complete this quest at level 100 you must do one of the falling:

The easiest way is to group with a lower level character to help you beat down Unkor the Ruthless without killing him. You can usually find someone running around the area. Offer to help them kill Ogres if they will help you NOT kill Unkor the Ruthless and it will be a win-win.
Acquire EZ-Thro Dynamite II, which can be crafted by engineers, but does not require engineering to use. Purchase one from the AH or you can get 5 as a reward from the quest Shizz Work from the chain beginning with Outland Sucks! in Hellfire Peninsula (don't worry, it's short and easy and there are no other prerequisites other than level). Remove all of your armor so there is nothing to proc or add damage. Run up to Unkor the Ruthless, toss an EZ-Thro Dynamite II at him which should leave a sliver of health, and you're done! EZ-Thro Dynamite may work as well, however, I have not tested it.
Crate of Kidnapped Puppies. Remove all of your other armor so there is nothing to proc or add damage.

I had a lot of problems doing this on my demon hunter during 7.0 and 7.1 (started in 7.0 at the start of legion and dropped it, and tried again in 7.1). The quest failed for me on a total of 6 times where Unkor had a grey "?" when i got him under 30% with a "Soft Foam Sword" and also tried grouping up with low lvls.
I succeded however, when i brought him down with low lvl grenades from engineering (Rough Dynamite and Coarse Dynamite). Should note that when i saw other low lvl players tag him and bring him down they didn't have any troubles. So this shows that the Soft Foam Sword is bugged in regards to triggering his action.

(i always made sure to kill 10 mobs before going for Unkor, and took the quest when he was up as hostile)

The Soft Form Sword is bugged , I hit him with it , he gets down to 30% and the quest is still with grey questiomark. In order to complete it , I had to use my priest mind control to control one of the ogres , hit him down . After that it worked

Tried few other tricks but it did not work on my 110 priest. Anyway , the good ol' mind control works. Hopefully Blizzard fixes the soft form sword !

I took res sickness, got naked and still oneshot him at 110. I used the foam sword, bugged him out.

I got frustrated, submitted a Bug Ticket to Blizzard, then got smart about it.

If you're an Outlaw Rogue, you can Bribe another Ogre to fight him for you. They'll get very low but should be able to do the trick. <3

As of Patch 7.1.5, it was impossible for me (Level 110 Hunter) to naked-punch this guy with the ress debuff. I found that a Stormbound Tome helped me. It took a few tries, but eventually I hit him for 4726 which made him submit.

Did this on priest by Mind Controlling another ogre and taking the mob to low life with it.

Possible ways to do this at level 110:

1. Group with a priest and have them mind control one of the other ogres around to beat the boss
2. Alternatively, group with a lower level character and have the lower level character beat the boss

If you are 110, the way to do it is using a Goblin Dragon Gun, Mark II
even if you use a low lvl dynamite, they will kill him (even if the dynamite tooltip indicates it only does 300 dmg or so).

Somebody with engineering can craft them.

I just discovered another way to complete this at 110. Use Whole-Body Shrinka' then get nude. Your melee damage is reduced substantially and will allow you to subdue him without him bugging out or dying.

I've experienced the solution for 110 lvl.
You need Ez-Thro Dynamite II
When you throw dynamite to him, he die even you are naked.
You have to be naked and have res sickness debuff on you. But you need 3 dynamites because each hits about %30 of his health.

I just used the Christmas Greench Mechanical Greench to kill it, while I spammed healed it as a holy pally.

As of 7.3.5 you can use the Soft Foam Sword to finsh the quest.

If possible, try to find a level-appropriate player in the area to help you complete this quest if you're max level. It's cats-and-dogs easier than the other options (if it's available.)

As of today, 120 Shaman, Removed All Clothes, Armor, Trinkets, Rings... Firesale... everything had to go.
Took my flying mount up and did my best Anakin impression and jumped over the side. Died. Guess I am not a Jedi.
Rezzed at the cemetery to be down with the Rez Sickness. Ran back to Unkor, pulled out my trusty Soft Foam Sword... He submits! Grovels at my feet... ok you get the drift.

LVL 120, just taking off my weapon and auto attacking was enough. This ressurection sickness strat people keep suggesting is making it more complicated than it needs to be.

If you're max lvl and doing this during Shadowlands expac: Foam sword toy no longer works. but whole body shrinka toy did. i removed all eq, flew up high, fell down and died. got rez sickness (unsure if needed but oh well) then tried foam sword and it said invalid target. then saw another comment about the whole body shrinka toy instead and that did actually work.

Kilrath in Terokkar Forest has asked that you kill 10 Boulderfist Invaders and beat Unkor the Ruthless until he talks.

Description

I have been watching these beasts for days. The fat one says that he is waiting for something. What he is waiting for, however, is a mystery.

I have a plan but it is going to involve some violence on your part. You will need to kill several of his subordinates and then beat him within an inch of his life. Do this and I am certain he will tell us everything that we need to know.
