FINALLY figured it out, no, you don't have to do all the quests in Nagrand, just this one escort quest in Sunspring Post. forgot what its called tho...the NPC is in a little hut by the big hut.

I've completed every Nagrand quest available to me except for Durn the Hungerer, including the escort - but this quest isn't available to me. Garrosh doesn't have a grey ! over his head, either, so I doubt it's because of my level. I'm a level 67 warlock and at Revered with Mag'har.

OK, so i finally got this.

there are 3 confirmed quest lines you must finish before getting this Thrall questline to unlock

1) blademaster chain http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10107

2) altruis the demon hunter chain http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9983

3) the murkblood quests (murkblood invaders http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9872 as well as the escort quest out of sunspring village)

The first prerequisite is the Assassin questline in Hellfire Peninsula. That gets you neutral with the Mag'har in the first place.

You also have to kill Durn, which requires you do the quests off the WANTED poster first as well.
Not sure about the elemental questlines, they might also be required. I had completed them already by the time I finished the Altruis questline.

Safest thing is to just complete all Mag'har quests, that way you're sure to get the quest.

Note on the escort quest the horde npc will aggro the alliance npc if they see each other, so go ahead and take them out first.

i guess you're either lying or you're stupid if you can't get this quest and you've done what people say.

I did all the nagrand quests, am only honored with maghar, and i got this chain easily.

Afaik, there's a chain that involves Altruis from Shadowmoon valley. It's the thing with the demon hunter near black temple. I've done that one, didn't notice this quest when I was in nagrad so that might be a prereq. Doubtful though.

For all of you who claim you have completed all the pre-reqs and are not able to get this questline to open be _sure_ to complete the Blademaster chain. If you open the link in post 2 (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10107) and do just that quest it is not enough. You also have to complete these quests from the blademaster:

Ok, I have done every single quest in Nagrand. The escort Q i did at 64/65, I did the Blade Q chain at the end of 66. and I have just finished the Altruis the Demon Hunters tiresome quest chain (Pain in the but, runnning around bloody Outland *grunble grunble*) but I did it anyway; knowing that I would get this quest chain when I was done. Nothing.....I can't get this Q...I can't talk to Garrosh or the Greatmother. so annoyed...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :P

He'll tell you to go see the Great Grandmother.. then listen to her story and your on your way

You get a total of 6760 Mag'har rep from completing all the qeusts in this chain, as well as 1200 Sha'tar rep.

The required chains you MUST complete before doing this are:

The Blademaster Chain:

This starts in Nagrand, brings you to Terrokar forest and then back to Nagrand. When you complete this chain with "Diplomatic Measures" the Burning Blade Chain will be unlocked.

Burning Blade Chain (Lantresor of the Blade):

Once you complete these 2 quests at Kil'Sorrow fortress, you do another 2 up at the Laughing Skull ruins. The last quest in this chain is "Message to Garadar"

You will need a group for most parts of this quest. There are parts that are easily soloable. Last quest in this chain to complete is Forge Camp: Annihilated

Murkblood Invaders:

Get a note from Murkblood Invader who ride arround Nagrand to start the quest. If you're under 70 you might want a partner.

Totem of Kar'dash (Escort):

This quest chain becomes super super easy after hitting 70 & getting a flying mount. I would've killed myself if I had to use a non-flying mount for the 5th part.

Can someone tell me what im doing wrong is? I've done absolutely every quest in Nagrand. I've checked, and checked, and double checked this, and i still cant get this quest. Is it bugged or something?

I thought that I had done the escort quest. I flew over the guy, saw the green NPC down below, and he didn't have a quest ! above his head. So I assumed I had done it.

But I was wrong.

Turns out you have to kill all of the mobs near him, and THEN he will give you the escort quest. So if you've flown over and found the guy, and thought you'd already done it, try killing all of the mobs around him and see if he offers you the escort quest.

BTW, it was reasonably easy to do as a solo 70 BM Hunter. He heals himself, and my pet could tank most of the mobs. Cakewalk.

The pre-requisite quests alone got me about a level worth of XP. You can do the Murkblood and Blademaster/Burning Blade quests at level 65, but the Forge Camp quests are 66, so if you are trying to maximize your efficiency you need to get started at 65 on those pre-requisites.

I have been trying to start this quest for days now...
I've finished all the prequests from what i can see, i thought maybe that I hadn't done the escort but the quest isn't coming up when i kill the guards so i guess I've done it.
Has anyone else had this problem or is there something else I'm missing..?

Altruis quests are not needed to get the chain.
I did the blademaster chain, Murkblood Invaders, and the escort, before I was able to get this quest.

I've completed every quest (and double checked that i have) in nagrand except this 1 and "I'm Saved!" from the nesingwary quests and I still can't get this quest, any help?

This Quest Chain starts in Hellfire with The Assassin. This requires you are able to speak to Nazgrel which means you will have to have done at least some of the level 58 outland Quests*.

1. The Assassin
2. A Strange Weapon
3. The Warchief's Mandate
4. A Spirit Guide
5. The Mag'har
6. Messenger to Thrall
7. Envoy to the Mag'har

Also given at this point are the following, but may not be necessary to complete the Hero chain. They are very nice rep rewards for each so you may want to do them since you’re there anyway.
1. A Debilitating Sickness
2. Administering the Salve

The next part leads you to Jorin Dead Eye in Garadar, Nagrand.

1. The Impotent Leader
2. Don't Kill the Fat One
3. Success!
4. Because Kilrath is a Coward
5. Message in a Battle
6. An Audacious Advance
7. Diplomatic Measures

Takes you to Nagrand to Find Lantresor of the Blade which gives you the Blademaster Chain

2b. Body Of Evidence
3. Message to Garadar

You will also need to complete The following Unrelated Quests.
1. The Totem of Kar’dash

which is a simple escort quest beginning with the Mag'har Captive in one of the buildings of Sunspring Post.

The second part involves Altruis the Sufferer who is right by the Mag’har captive so these are good quests to do together.

4. Patience and Understanding
5. Crackin' Some Skulls
6. It's Just That Easy?
7. Forge Camp: Annihilated

This unlocks the final sequence which returns you to Garrosh . He sends you finally to visit Greatmother Geyah .

There is something missing in this guide.
Did the quests required as you say before coming to Nagrand, but still Jorin Dead Eye won't give me any quest. Finished the Altruis' chain but still nothing.

I think there are some quests in Terokkar as well, needed for this Mag'har chain to be opened. Otherewise I got no explaination, since I did all Hellfire and Zangarmarsh but skipped Terokkar Forest.

Hello, Greatmother. Garrosh told me that you wanted to speak with me.

If you are here, it would be safe to assume that the portal has opened. Most of the orcs here were too young or too sick to remember the Dark Portal.

<Greatmother Geyah points to the orcs around her.>

Many of them were orphans or would soon become orphans. Aye, Blackhand would have it no other way. Keep the sick from the healthy. Only the strong would survive... Or so they say.

You raised all of the orcs here, Greatmother?

They have grown up here. We kept them safe from harm. We did the best that we could in nursing them back to health. Many perished but many, many more grew strong. Like Garrosh...

<Greatmother Geyah sighs.>

He has lost his heart, you know. He tells me that I am his balance. That without me, the blood lust that consumed his father and ultimately cursed our people would take him over.

Do you believe that?

<Greatmother Geyah laughs weakly.>

Of course not, dear. But it's not me that has to believe...

Garrosh can lead the Mag'har. He is strong and wise. All of the spirits approve of him. He just needs to believe in himself. He fears so much... He fears so deeply that if he lets himself go, his rage will consume him and all that would be near him.

What can be done? I have tried many different things. I have done my best to help the people of Nagrand. Each time I have approached Garrosh, he has dismissed me.

I wish I knew, dear. He will not listen to you nor will he listen to me. In truth, it is why I am still here. It is why I have not left with Mother Kashur. He must find his heart. Our people will not survive through the winter without leadership.

Left? How can you choose to leave?

I am old. It is my time. When I pass, my spirit will move on to the spirit realm. It is there that I will stand with my ancestors. It is there that we will watch over our people.

When Garad was alive Mother Kashur's duty was the same as my duty now.

What is this duty?

The duty of a clan mother is to listen. To listen to the wind and the water and the fire and the earth. To gather information for her clan in the way others gather furs to stay warm. It is the spirits that I commune with... In my dreams, Mother Kashur speaks to me like the spirits that spoke to her once... When I pass, I will speak to Drakia and Celestine in this manner.

ty all all those post help me a lot i was stuck at 85 did the murkblood......86 and now 3 days to figure that the NPC GEZHE as the membership benefit quest he had a bleu interogation on his head and finaly double check and there was my last quest .

ive done the chains required for this quest (ithink) and still cannot get the quest. I need this chain to finish off nagrand for the loremaster achieve but cannot get it. any ideas?

I've completed every single quest there probably is to complete in Garadar...and I -still- haven't unlocked the Greatmother quest chain. Is there something I need to do in Hellfire Peninsula or somewhere before I can unlock it? I'm at revered reputation wise, but I'd rather not start farming ogres just yet to get to exalted. What else do I need to do?

I was stuck n flew around for an hour almost I hadn't done the mag'har captive quest and flew by n he didn't have a quest but if u kill the guys around him he will have a quest for u

I didnt get this quest until I was almost done with the Zone. I think the quest chain where you destroy the demon camp in the west is a prerequisite to this one because this quest didnt show up until I finished the demons.

This, this, this. I was having so much trouble unlocking this chain that I talked to a GM, who confirmed that it was indeed Totem of Kar'dash (Escort) that I was missing.

Well guys, I was stuck at 78/85 and i had already completed the Totem of Kar'dash quest and the Greatmother Quest still would not open. After reading a little bit I found out that the Crackin Skulls quest in Shatt opened up the rest of the artrius line. Totally missed it cause it was in Shatt. Came back and Great mother quests are good to go. Hope it helps.

As of 5.0.3/.4/.5/ I was getting 330, 550, 750 and 1050 per quest. Seams about an hour to get exalted if your quick enough.

Ok so i started doin these quests for the loremaster achieve and im now stuck. I completed the materials quest n now should b on meet kashur yet i have no ! Quests showing up i have been all over nagrand. Does anyone have any advice that may help me find this quest?

Confirming that the Altrius quest line definitely has to be completed before this quest becomes available despite being completely irrelevant.

Pretty much every quest in Nagrand is needed except for the consortium and nesingwary chains.

I was able to get this quest chain by only doing, all today in less than an hour, 3 main quest chains as prerequisite: the Totem of Kar’dash, Altruish the Sufferer, & Jorin Dead Eye's quest chains.
