The last phrase in Gekgek's dialog is likely a reference to a scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where King Arthur is attempting to speak with a French guard in a castle about the whereabouts of the holy grail. The guard insults Arthur and his knights in a rather odd fashion, and tells them to leave, "now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!"

This quest will make you unfriendly with the Oracles. Choose your faction before you do this quest.

Tracker Gekgek only offers this quest immediately after you kill Pitch (the mob standing right by him).

This quest sides you with Frenzyheart Tribe and against The Oracles. During your Frenzyheart quests, you'll eventually get Just Following Orders which abruptly switches you to Hostile with Frenzyheart, Friendly with Oracles. Fear not, this change is not permanent. You can always change which faction you are aligned with after the quest line is over.

i never picked it up after i killed pitch. how do i accuire this quest again? i went back to Gekgek after the fact but he has no quest to offer me :( i went frenzyheart hill and thee is nothing what sould i do?

Killing pitch again does not make the quest appear, not sure if someone with the "Part TIme Hunter" quest will make it appear or not.

I don't really get how you can "steal" a kill from someone who runs away with his tail between his legs (in this case, literally) just because the thing moved.

To obtain Quest:
You have to kill "Patch". That way you steal his pray and he makes you his slave... now you can get whole chain that allows you to chose what faction you will get to like. Oracales or Frenzyheart.

This quest chain is annoying. it looks like you are going to ally yourself with the frenzyheart but in reality at the end of this mammoth quest chain you actually finally get to choose which faction to ally yourself.
I had to search the internet for this. its not evident ingame is it?

Final Quest:
Hero's Burden - this is where you choose your faction.
You can repeat it each day to pick a different faction.

I intend to do a a lot of mining and herbing in Sholozar Basin, including areas occupied by one or the other clan, so I want to remain neutral with both. It seems to me that once I've done "Playing Along" I will always be allied with one side or the other. If this isn't the case, someone please post it here.

I did the quest but when i did it i lost the one guy that was your companion and nvr got one back so when i saw befor that he gave you a quest i just ignored it went afk and accidentaly logged out then when i got back on the quest wasnt there cuz i turned the quest i was doing (not the one he gave) wich was the quest that the guy was my companion but i still cant figure out why i cant get the quest. I cant get the guy again. Please HELP ME !

I am completely lost here. When I kill Pitch nothing happens. The Frenzyheart guy says "No you steal kill, now you owe Gekgek." There is no quest to pick up from him. I tried talking to all the Frenzyhearts but they have no quests for me. I am neutral with them and unfriendly with the Oracles. I just want to start these stupid missions but I have no idea how. I even tried killing the lich in the cave, (the one for Hero's Burden) but even then the little Oracle wouldn't talk to me. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help me please?

Doesn't matter if you're horde or alli - if you've completed the quests in the past, just go kill Artruis the Heartless and kill whichever toon in stone that you don't want rep with.

If you are not receiving the quest when killing Pitch, it might be because you have already started the quest-line, and thus already killed Pitch. (This happened to me, and I forgot I had ever done these quests, must have abandoned them when clearing my quest log).

It is worthwhile to go to Frenzyheart Hill and speak to either of the quest givers to check if you can pick up where you left off.

You can (or used to be able to) pick up just the Oracle side of this by finding the wounded Oracle to begin that side - I did on a previous character, and wondered what the wolvar were talking about me "switching sides" (having never done their quests). This time I did the full wolvar quests first though.

So, I've been stuck as well in or after this quest.
Killed pitch, no follow up quest.
Talked to the high shaman and ...nothing.

Solution:
Try to go talk to "Elder Harkek", right by the bonfire. He can maybe give you the shackles which are needed for the next quests in the chain.
He's easy to miss when you're focused on the highshaman Rakjak (as I was). But the two of them stand in each others eye sight, not far apart.
When you get the shackles, activate them to make sure, your new companion shows up and gives you the next quests.

I came and killed Pitch because I had a quest pointing to here (The Part-time Hunter) from Tamara at River's Heart (Tamara Wobblesprocket). She's going to take my kill but use it as her trophy for Nesingwary.

So the next quest in line being about stolen kills has its own bemusement.

What I can confirm is, the ! to start the quest disappears ~~when~~ edit: a short while after Pitch respawns, and reappears when Pitch is killed again. So if you're concerned you can't find the quest giver, make sure the cat's in the right phase - skinnable :)

I was unable to get Tracker Gekgek to give me this quest no matter how many times I killed Pitch.
I completed The Part-Time Hunter years ago.
While doing another quest where I needed to not kill the mob I found using the toy Soft Foam Sword. this hurt the mod to the point I could use an item on him, and that worked. I used the same toy on Pitch that made it so I had 2 swings on Pitch, not just once. I believe this is what let me get the quest Playing Along.
