25,23 Is the North-West entrance to the Nexus where you will use the flare at. Keristrasza will then spawn and continue the quest for you.

Note, you use the flare at the door way, not down the tunnel at the orb.

Don't be moving at the end of her speech or you wont be picked up by her and continue the event. If you are though, don't worry just wait for the flare cd and do it again.

There are several issues, like while shapeshifted you cannot ride Keristrasza, thus you have to wait for the quest items to cooldown, so that you can start again. Then when you are finished, and you land the quest doesn't complete, I've flown around 3 times now, and nothing.

You have to stick around after you land for one final sequence where Keristrasza is attacked by Malygos. If that doesn't happen, the quest won't complete.

Make sure you aren't shapeshifted druids, you have to restart the quest if you are when she sets fire to the body.

Also it bugs out a lot at the end and you don't get to see the cinematic bit.

The first two tries, Keristrasza would drop me off and get frozen then both would just disappear. I was standing on top of her and it just didn't work. About to do my third attempt before just giving up on the quest.

First try --- was mounting as she took off. "You are busy and cannot use taxi."
Second try --- landed and did not move, quest did NOT complete.
Third try --- landed and RAN immediately to her. When she said "Hurry, Bootrick, flee!" the quest completed

I didnt get this.. Im stadning in front the entrance to the nexus instance and use the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35718 , but nothing happens.. Where should i use it ?

I cant find any northwest entrance. There is only one entrance to the nexus

also won't work if someone else has started this step right before you -- a separate dragon summons for you but the quest doesn't finish... it seems to stall out over the fact that the corpse is already on fire. if this happens, wait for the cooldown and use it again, should work fine then :)

This happened to me. On my third attempt I logged out as soon as I mounted Keristrasza.
When I logged back in I finished the flight and the quest completed BEFORE I dismounted.

If you have problems with this quest (due to crowds), just wait till dragon take off and fire flare. You will be next :)

And after landing, wait till quest is finished next to Keristrazsa, else nothing happens and you can fly again.

EDIT dont forget to get rid of any shapeshift forms like shadowform or druid ones, tried twice before I figured out whats wrong and why quest wont finish.

On my third try of this quest I logged out just as we were taking off and then immediately logged back in, as advised above. After doing this, the quest completed the moment that Keristrasza and I landed. That's the information - it may (likely) be a coincidence, but so far it does seem to be working quite consistently this way!

took about 4-5 tries for me. the time it worked i saw a message from her i never saw previously (perhaps need to be quite close, and quickly get there) with basically her telling me to flee quickly, to live to finish what we've begun. this is before malygos spawns.

this is based off my experience only. hope it helps

I just completed this at 25, 21 up above in the top section.

Also, make sure the Dragon isn't up when you launch your rocket thing. If you use it when its up, it will not work. I had to wait 2 minutes for the cool down on the item

Ok one problem I had as a hunter was that my pet was out. Dismiss your pet then try it again. As stated:

1. Fire flare
2. Don't move and get and wait for dragon to take you up
3. Relog while in flight
4. After it lands, run towards her immediately

make sure no pets, no buffs. worked for me when I did that.

2 times I could not complete, despite running up to her immediately. I then removed the druid buff I had on and my aura and got complete. So do debuff.

very important how to do the quest:

the quest bugs if someone after you uses the flare. there must be at least a 10 second intervall to use the next flare.

If you are a druid, be in caster form. Else you will get the so loving message "Cant take taxi while being shapeshifted". This also apply to anybody "costumed".

Also, after you land, quickly move back to her, else the quest wont complete. (And to make sure it work, left-click and right-click on her, just to be sure).

Well this is an annoying quest. Had to do it a couple of times.

1. Go to 25,23... You should be standing outside of a giant stone door...
2. if there are other ppl doing this quest wiat for the dragon to fly away before you click the flare....
3. once you do the fly over, make sure you run up to the dragon the second after you have landed...
4. You'll see a message like... " Hurry, NAME! Flee! Live to finish what we've begun here....."
5. Quest Completed

Seems to work. Though I ran forward first then twards her at the end.

Ok so i do everything previous posts say to do WHY AM I STILL NOT GETTING IT! I'v done it 4 times now and every time i land i run to the dragon and the quest dosen't complete, what ^&*!es me right off is the guy behind me does get it . . . why?

I'm starting to get a little bothered by these quests.

First there was the quest where I had to go kill these dudes, pickup their weapons, and use their own weapons to kill their babies.

Then there was the quest to go kill Malygos's wife.

Now this quest has you go, and drop her dead body outside his house, while the red dragon chick comes up and is all like:

Keristrasza: MALYGOS, WE KILLED YO WIFE!
*uses fire breath on the body*
Keristrasza: AND WE SET HER ON FIRE!
*turns to you*
Keristrasza: Ok, lets get the F**k out of here.

This has got to be the worst quest ever when done in a PvP server, ppl always put you in combat which prevents you from flying with Keristrasza.

Tried it serveral times while in group of 3. We attempt to leave the group and "solo" the flight, turned out to work just fine.

Oh and yeah, we also "ran" when he told us to...

So it's either of those that probably causes this error.

Took me 5 try's, plus watching other people. It looks like the problem is due to Malgos not being re-set from the previous person that causes the quest to not complete.

You'll know you got it if you see Malgos yell "Saragosa! What has become of you". If you don't see that line, you wont get a completion.

As far as I can tell, there isn't any way to know if Malgos is reset or not, so if there is a crowd of people doing the quest you're probably better off just skipping it until there isn't anybody there. Otherwise, you're likely to be like me and so many others, and do it multiple times.

So to recap, it doesn't matter what tricks you pull (running in, buff's etc). If you dont see the line "Saragosa! What has become of you". You WILL NOT complete the quest.

There is a chance that logging out during flight might reset things and let you complete the quest anyway, but I can't test that.

If there is someone else doing the quest ahead of you and they are in the middle of the cut scene the quest will not complete since the dragon wont spawn for you.

So basically if there is a bunch of ppl lining up to do the quest, only every second person will complete it.

why do u negative rate good coments? what this guy said is true! after 4 failed atemts i talked to the ppl waiting in queue after me to use the quest item and they didnt use the flare, and i was able to complete!
i had druid buffs on me and flask and food, so dont belive coments like, RELOG blabla, its not true.

I don't know why, but I can confirm as of November 16th, 2008 at 2:34 p.m. on the Elune server, Alliance side, that the logout upon mounting workaround worked for me! Good luck to everyone else!

I tried to do this today, flew on here and landed normally. then my first time i stood with her for like 10 min, then malygos came, they disappeared and i got nothing. Second time, the second i landed it completed.

You summon her, stand right next to her, do not move or you will fail and she will fade away. You fly all over the place, then you land and you run right next to her immediately.

Malygos comes down and says:
Malygos yells: "Keristrasza you've bested my consort... now YOU will replace her!"
Keristrasza : NEVER!
*gets frozen in a block of ice. Malygos flies away. No quest complete*

*EDIT: I tried the No pet, no buffs, logged out... this quest is bugged and does not work.

finally i was able to get this quest completed.

I did try the logging out in flight method; but I don't know if this even helped.

however, there was no second dragon at the landing site, right before landing I was prompted with a Quest Completion message.

When you get down on the ground, she drops you off a bit behind her. What worked for me, was to run up to her as soon as we landed. That got me close enough to hear her remarks, which (apparently) triggered the Quest Completed for me.

The current bug with this quest has nothing to do with buffs or pets, but rather has to do with the player before you. Spending time watching the LANDING point will confirm the issue.

In ideal conditions, Keristrasza will not yet be at the landing point. Upon landing you receive the text telling you to flee. In this case, your quest will compete. However the quest Pauses at this point and does not progress. Keristrasza just stands around.

The NEXT person to land will trigger the quest to complete, but will not get credit. They'll simply see Malygos enter the event and the event will end. They will not get credit. Since the event has now ended, and Keristrasza is gone, the NEXT person will complete.

If you have a "spotter" watch the landing point and tell you when someone Succeeds and allow for the next person to launch in front of you, you are guaranteed a successful event.

This means that the quest currently has a 50% failure rate. I am certain Blizzard will address the issue in a coming patch.

Completed it with buffs and without logging out.
The quest completed just before I landed.

How did I do it?
I logged in at 6 am in the morning while everyone is asleep and no one was in Coldarra.

This confirms the theories about a scripted quest not beeing able to complete/function properly at all with several other people attempting the quest. There are more examples of similar scripted quest in Howling Fjord and other places.

Lets hope Blizzard fixes this in a future patch.

There is a huge problem with this quest often not being marked as complete after you finish it. The short answer is it often won't complete if there are other people doing it ahead of you and you should just try again until it does.

Now the long answer: There is a ton of misinformation here about what you need to do to get the quest to complete. There is not really a "bug" in the quest and taking off buffs, dismissing pets, logging in and out or moving a certain way after landing will not help in the slightest. It's basically just luck so when it works people assume that whatever they did must have fixed the problem.

Here's what's going on:

When you start the quest you fire a flare and Keristrasza appears and runs through her script. This takes around 90 seconds. As everyone quickly figures out, no one else can summon Keristrasza until the previous person's Keristrasza has despawned. The instant Keristrasza despawns and is replaced by a mount that takes the first quest-giver away the next person can summon her. So if you are trying to win the flare contest with a long line of questers, fire the instant she fades out to be replaced by the mount version.

As other people have correctly noted, you will not continue with the mount part of the quest if you cannot mount at that time (shapeshifted or already mounted or in combat).

The second part of the quest involves flying around and looking at things.

The third part of the quest works just like the first part but it's much less obvious because you're not directly controlling it. What happens is you land and then Keristrasza appears, tells you to run and then gets captured by Malygos. This seems to take a variable amount of time – sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it seems to take a few minutes. The important part is that, just like at the start, when you land the Keristrasza that appears is "your" Keristrasza and only one Keristrasza can be spawned at a time. The issue therefore is if you land and someone else's Keristrasza is still going through her script (even with just a second left), your Keristrasza will fail to spawn and you won't complete the quest. What happens is one person starts the script and the next two people in line (who are running through the first part as fast as possible) fail to complete the quest while the first person's script runs. Repeat.

As you can see, whether or not you complete the quest is entirely due to luck – whether or not the previous person's Keristrasza is still up. If she is, you just have to try again.

Due to the apparent variability in the time it takes the final script to run I don't think it's that useful to try to time your run but it may be possible. You'd need a friend over there telling you what was going on…

It's not really a bug so much as bad design. If you were to do the quest when no one else had done it in the past 5 minutes it would complete every time. That's why this wasn't discovered in Beta and the issue will largely go away when the initial rush of the expansion is over but you'll still see it when you've got a group going through the quests together.

This worked for me: I moved during the first scene, but after the flight sequence I didn't move at all until I got quest completion. I didn't log out at all.

Take from this what you will. Me and a mate did it in 2 different methods.

His method.
Start as normal (no-one there, corpse not on fire). Log out mid flight, no buffs. Stood still when landing. Quest complete (first try).

My method.
Start as normal (no-one there, corpse not on fire). Stayed logged in. Had buffs (spec. Gift of the wild and well fed). Ran to dragon when landed. NOT complete.

Than I did his (logged, no buffs) and got it in that method.

I tried 3 times and finally got quest completed after logging out in flight.

I didn't get a quest completed message though, and the scene finished when the dragon you fly on gets frozen in the ice block and says "NEVER!"

It took me about 30 minutes to find the place WITH someone else's coordinates. Here's a tip: It's not at the entryways down in the pit, it's another entryway up top, a bit of a ways from the center of the place.

When you fire the flare, she'll appear outside of the doorway, so be sure and turn around for everything.

I had no issues doing this quest, Im pretty sure they fixed it. I used the flare, flew around, then landed. A few seconds after landing I completed the quest and then Malygos showed up and froze her. Simple. And I didnt do any of the wierd stuff people are talking about like logging mid flight or cancelling buffs etc.

Could anyone transcript what happened after the quest completed? Keristrasza told me to flee and then remained there until despawn some minutes later. Next thing I know she's supposed to be in the Nexus?

I think the script stopped working after my quest got completed. Annoying, as I wanted to know what happens next!

when you land she should say

"Keristrasza says: Hurry, Hópe! Flee! Live to finish what we've begun here...."

And you get the quest completed line. Then

"Malygos yells: Keristrasza! You've bested my consort... and now YOU shall take her place!
Keristrasza yells: Never!"

and she is iceblocked and taken away.

The quest has a new bug. he never iceblocks her, so she doesnt despawn. So if you go all the way around and there is a Keristrasza standing there from a different quest she wont give you the 'flee' message. But you will trigger the iceblock. So go back and do it again and hop someone else didnt do it just before you again. Took me 6 tries.

Tried it today twice so far without success. I did everything suggested here,I did see the corpse of sarasosa, and I didn't move after landing I didn't move throughout the whole thing and it will not complete. Still bugged I guess.

Still bugged (Wed 12/10).

I've done this a dozen times with three toons so far.

This last time, Malygos didn't say anything or even appear; She told me to run, and the quest completed. She bugged at that point, as Malygos didn't show up. (The next person would have failed.)

If you see her on the ground as you're coming in for a landing, you (probably) won't complete. If she's not there, you probably will.

Once it took me six tries to complete. The other two took three tries.

i tried everything to get this quest to complete, and what finally did it is when i ran over to Keristraza IMMEDIATELY after dismounting and stood in her "target circle" until malygos spawned. that was the only way i could get the quest to complete

I didn't get a quest completion even with no one else running the event. She appeared when she was supposed to at all times and it still didn't complete. I stood still at all times. I was not mounted. Etc. etc. and it still didn't complete.

I'm sorry, this is a bug. There is no way they designed it to do this. Their intention was for it to complete every time and it does not. Bug.

PEOPLE: Stop assuming that because you farted as you landed, that everyone who does this quest has to fart just as they land to complete. Learn your logical fallacies.

After trying this quest 5 times with failure, I listened to eragord and ran to her after landing instead of standing still. This completed the quest for me before she began her final speech at Malygos. Standing still just didn't complete the quest for me.

4th time trying, I get the FULL event everytime, yet no quest complete. I'm trying ONE more time without logout trick or anything, and if it doesnt work, then getting off for the night. Trying again in the morning.

...by the way, anyone notice that Keristrasza has a looong beard in dragon form? BLizz too lazy to differentiate male and female dragons?

EDIT: Got bored, tried the logout thing, didn't work. I just dismissed my ghoul, and am going to avoid looking the screen at all and saying random prayers in hopes of the quest completing. And I misspelled Keristrasza.

EDITS TWO AND THREE, FOR GREAT JUSTICE: It worked! :DDD I know the ghoul had SOME effect. Also, just in case, I had music playing off youtube. It was epic music for added effect. ^_^

I figured it out. Thank you for all the previous posts. At the very beginning of the flight she says " stay close to me i would hate for anything to happen to you." SO stay under her, when she lands immediately run under her for your protection. highlight her and get in the middle of the green circle. STAY RIGHT under her, she protects you and the quest is complete.

1st attempt - fly around looking at the prettiness of the Nexus (the only reason for this bit, really), land, there's already a Keri there, I don't get quest completion.
2nd attempt - as above until I land, no Keri already there this time, then get the quest text, she's ice-blocked and vanishes. But still no quest completion. Note, there was no-one else there.
3rd attempt - no Keri on the ground, but she despawns as she drops me. No sodding completion possible. Again, no-one else in the vicinity.

I hate this quest.

Didn't work for me. When she landed, she did not tell me to flee, she just stood there and Malygos came out and destroyed her. This happened to me twice in a row. On my third attempt, I tried logging out in flight. After logging back on and landing, she told me to run away and the objective was satisfied.

The quest has changed slightly in 3.0.8. Instead of being given Raelorasz's Flare, you are now given Raelorasz's Spark, which requires you to use next to the unlit bonfire wood at the Northwest Entrance (towards the trees more than the actual entrance). The effect is the same although the method slightly different.

I guess Blizzard didn't want a Mage to hand you a flare gun as opposed to something a bit more magical such as a spark. Or perhaps they wanted a bonfire to be present to have a more definitive place for players to find rather than "Nexus' Northwest Entrance".

All the information above is now invalid and just records of a broken, but now fixed, quest. Did it three times in a row, each time, success. The only difference now is that you require to use the flare on a wooden pile, same location just a 180 degree turn away from the bridge.

The quest is changed in patch 3.0.8. The provided item is now "Raelorazs' Spark". You need to go to to 34.24 and use the "Spark" even though the fire is invisible Keristrazsa will spawn and you'll get your quest completed without doing anything except maybe watching TV while she is talking to Malygos.

Not quite all the information is invalid.. Once again, if you're moving at the start of the quest, you won't be picked up, and will be unable to complete the quest. You will also now have to wait for the unlit signal fire to respawn. Takes about 3-5 minutes, didn't time it.

The signal fire actually fixes two problems this quest had previously. It makes it easy to find the spot where you are supposed to summon the dragon AND the fire's respawn timer ensures that other people cannot start the quest while it is already in progress for someone else. Props to Blizzard, the signal fire is a very creative fix. :)

Yeah non of those damn coordinates work, it keeps talking about a signal flare which is not there at all - its far from the door, north (well not that far, but its not in the doorway)

Confirmed. I happened to be moving closer to Saragosa's corpse to look at it when Keristrasza stopped talking.

I got the error, "You are moving" in yellow, and I was not picked up by Keristrasza.

I had to wait approximately 5 minutes until the signal fire despawned.

Those Coords are correct. Its not In the "doorway" its outside it a little bit. It does look like a teepee type thing. like a bonfire.

You will find the signal fire at 25.3 - 21.8 exactly. There will be a a doorway just south of the fire. The signal fire looks like sticks in the shape of a tepee.

Completed this quest simply by waiting by the empty spot where the signal fire was supposed to be. Turns out someone else was doing it at the moment. I simply watched the dragon appear, and got a complete. Nice! /thank'ed the other player and rode off :)

Note here if you are a user of the QuestHelper addon: the co-ordinates that the mod gives are wrong as at the time of this post. The addon send you to the west side of the Nexus were you LAND-not start the quest. The item to start the quest is near the northern entrance to the nexus: not far from the passageway to the Raid portal. Co-ordinates are given here by other users.

If you don't have co-ordinates, go through the 4 way entrance at the top-center of the Nexus. You will pass the portal leading to the raid. Follow the North path and go through the entrance and the fire will be directly in front of you. Can't miss it.

If you move right before she's about to take off, you will get the message 'you are moving' and you will not take off with her, and have to call her again. Which I just had to do, thanks to that comment being downgraded.

I was running around the area mentioned above for ages trying to find this, basically there's a stacked pile of logs that you have to light, if you have your back facing the entrance mentioned it's just on your right in front of you. hopefully this clears the confusion for some.

This quest cannot be done with 2 or more players at the same time, unfortunately. I level my DK together with a friend but we each had to do it separately.

When you get there, use the flare. And the dragon will come to you. Then you get to ride on him about 2 minutes. Then the quest is over.

I just had the WEIRDEST thing happen...

I have Cartographer_QuestInfo addon installed. I clicked where it said "Assault on Malygos complete", and went to where it showed up on the map (around 34,25). I saw nothing unusual there, so I came here to read the posts. I didn't get very far into them when I heard the "Quest Complete" music (I forget if an addon does that or if it's vanilla WoW). When I went back to the WoW window, it said I had completed the quest!

I am NOT grouped with anyone, and I have absolutely no idea why I got credit for it... but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. :)

I've done this one on several chars and always I have had the known issue at least once on each toon. Today I did it again and got the Complete message when Keristrasza burned the corpse. Then followed the usual scripted event with the capture of here, but the quest was already completed. Guess one could say that it has been fixed now.

I've now run through this quest several times on multiple characters and still don't really understand the logic behind it.

They decide to lure Malygos from "his realm" and launch an all-out attack on him in that time with all their troops. They do this by angering him with the body of his "consort". So far, it sounds good.

However, despite all this, and despite Malygos being lured, they fail -- spectactularly.

They fail so badly that not only is Malygos not defeated, but he imprisons (and mind-controls into his slave) the Ancient Red Dragon who organized the whole thing with barely a thought. Yet there's no explanation as to why the Red Dragonflight would make such a monumental miscalculation, they just do...

Quest seems to have been changed since last I did it. Previously, Keristrasza would land with you far away, you ran to her quickly to recieve quest credit when she pulsed it. If you were not close enough, you didn't get completion.

As of just a few minutes ago when I did it on my newest toon to northrend, however, the quest credit was given out as soon as Keristrasza picks you up and takes you for a ride.

Good change is good.

I don't know if they changed the quest AGAIN, but...

I was moving when it was time for lift-off at the bonfire, so I got the "you're moving"-message instead of getting a ride from Raelorasz. However, I also got the quest completed message, so on a whim I simply rode back to Transitus Shield and sure enough, I was able to complete the mission there.

Addendum: I went to do this quest with another character, and there was already someone doing it (from the opposite faction, no less). I waited for him to get it done, and when he jumped on Keristrasza's back, I got the quest completetion message, and was able to turn it in without having to go through the scripted events.

1. Open your map. Move your character so that the arrow representing your position is directly above the "N" and to the left of "The" in "The Nexus" on the map. The bundle of wood you have to light is outside, in the snow.
2. Light the bundle of wood using the item provided to you, Raelorasz' Spark.
3. Take your hands off your keyboard and mouse, sit back, and enjoy the show. After a few minutes of NPC dialog and a scene where you ride a dragon, you should complete the quest. You do not have to do ANYTHING.
4. Turn in the quest at Transitus Shield.

how the hell do you do this quest if you can't see the bundle of wood? I have been standing in this area clicking the damn item and it keeps putting that error message saying something like the item needs to be unlit.

If someone else has just lit the fire, you're in luck - stay by the bundle of wood / Keristrasza (when she appears) and you'll get credit. However, the fire will stay lit for a minute or two (presumably the length of the flight) so you'll have to wait for it to go out if you see a fire going, but no one around.

The current patch for Quest helper is incorrect, "beachboy" is correct on how this needs to be done. You will be out in the snow and not under the Nexus when you do this. The signal flair looks like a cone shaped bundle of sticks or a what looks like an unlit "bond fire". The rest "beachboy" already discribed.

If you're a druid and are using a seperate addon for you're bars (Ex: Dominos or Bartender) you can leave vehicle when you get on Keristrasza and use your flight form and go turn in the quest completely ignoring the NPC dialog and show.

So you must have Northrend flying and your flight form to do this.

Just thought I'd let you druids know.

Just did this quest last night with someone else. They used the flair and got picked up by the dragon. Meanwhile the quest completed for me a few seconds after Keristrasza picked up the other person. So, while the other person in my group was doing the event, I was already flying to turn it in.

So if you see someone on the same quest, and your having trouble because you forgot to dismount/shapeshift, you can tag along with someone while your cooldown is waiting.

You know, if you think about it, this quest is pretty screwed up.

You're basically luring malygos out of the Nexus by killing his wife, dumping her corpse on his doorstep and setting the corpse on fire.

Jeez.

Unfortunately for me, there wasn't anyone to tell me what I'm about to write. I had to learn the hard way.

If you're going for the joyride on Keristrasza, and your dungeon finder queue pops up, well that's tough, because you can't take it! You are put into the group and can see your other four groupmates, however, you can't port. When trying to teleport to the dungeon, you simply get an 'You can't do that right now' error message. In an attempt to salvage my 25 minute wait time, I dismounted Keristrasza and tried the teleport function again mid-fall. Sadly, it didn't work, and I was given another error message, this time saying 'You can't do that while moving' (or some variant).

In the end, I fell to my death on one of those impossibly high up circular blue platforms that litter Coldarra, had to ressurect at the graveyard, and wasn't able to take the awfully long queue for DPS.

Lesson of the day....

Timing is everything. ;)

The only thing you need to do is to put some wooden in fire with the item you recieved when you accepted the quest. The wooden is at 25,22. When this is done you can let your hands of your mouse and keyboard and just watch.

Keristrasza says: Stay close to me, <name>. I could not bear for any harm to come to you.
Keristrasza yells: MALYGOS!
Keristrasza puts the Corpse of Saragosa on the ground.
Keristrasza yells: Come, Lord of Magic, and recover your precious consort....
Keristrasza flames the Corpse and sets it on fire.
Keristrasza yells: ...what remains of her!
Keristrasza says: Come, <name>. Let us see the fruits of our efforts.
Keristrasza takes the player on her back and flies around the Nexus, observing the situation, including Malygos battling the reds high above.
Malygos yells: Saragosa! What has become of you?
She lands in eastern Coldarra as the quest completes, but the script event continues.
Keristrasza says: Hurry, <name>! Flee! Live to finish what we've begun here....
Malygos yells: Keristrasza! You've bested my consort... and now YOU shall take her place!
Malygos shoots a bolt at Keristrasza, freezing her so that he can capture her.
Keristrasza yells: Never!
Having caught Keristrasza, both dragons despawn.

I feel sorry for Malygos, Saragosa and Keristrasza after doing this quest. Malygos got his consort, one of his most beloved minions, killed and burnt into ashes, Saragosa got killed and Keristrasza got forced into becoming Malygos' consort.

As many people are still fleshing out their WotLK / Northrend content in this starting zone, or even trying to wrangle some The Wyrmrest Accord reputation, I felt this mini-guide would be extremely helpful to new and experienced players alike. It should be noted that the majority of these quests count towards Nothing Boring About Borean which also leads one towards . =^)

These quest series begin by discovering a Scintillating Fragment (right-click on this item in the player's bags), dropping from one of the Coldarra Spellbinders, which then starts the first quest chain .
*Player note: Do not confuse the Coldarra Spellbinders (humanoids) with Coldarra Spellweavers (which are dragonkin)*

Puzzling... which after turning in to Raelorasz at the Transitus Shield gives players...

The Cell where you search for two other fragments of an arcane prison (Prison Casing / Energy Core. Items acquired at this point become Augmented Arcane Prison upon turn-in.
*Player note: Both items are found only on the two blue dragon micro-bosses (General Cerulean / Warbringer Goredrak) in the center of the blue round magic circles outside of the The Nexus fissures.*

Here it appears this chain ends, but actually continues on in a 2nd chain. If you lose your Augmented Arcane Prison at any time, speak to Raelorasz at the Transitus Shield for a free replacement.
*Player note: Just be certain that it wasn't placed in the bank during a side trip, as there aren't any banks within a large portion of this zone (including the Hold). If he doesn't automagically give you the option to replace it, try clicking the "What is the cause of this conflict?" to bring it up.*

Upon right-clicking Augmented Arcane Prison, player then releases Keristrasza who then begs for assistance to confront Malygos by talking to her once the player is ready for the The Nexus raid zone.

Keristrasza allows players to speak to her again to continue the chain.
*Player note: If she somehow gets lost or the player drops the quest, it is best advised to go just outside of the Shield and summon her for each next quest, as other locations sometimes quest error or are incorrect areas.*

Bait and Switch has players collect 10 Crystallized Mana Shards (which are the pink crystal plants all over Coldarra) to make bait to beat his blue dragon guardian, Saragosa human form / Saragosa (dragon non-quest form). Pretty self-explanatory, just turn them in when done, any extras can be safely deleted.

Once collected she calls for Saragosa's End and gives players a Arcane Power Focus with which to bait Saragosa and drag back Saragosa's Corpse for another quest.
*Player note: When ready, talk to Keristrasza by using the Augmented Arcane Prison and she will teleport the player to Saragosa's platform up way above. Use the Arcane Power Focus to summon her and she'll arrive in dragon form then change to human form for the fight. When dead, call Keristrasza and turn in the quest, accept the next quest and stop talking to her. Speak to her again for a FREE teleport back down to the ground for the next turn-in.*

Mustering the Reds is where she asks players to carry her to Raelorasz back at Transitus Shield (in the Prison). Turn it in!

Raelorasz then wants players to start Springing the Trap by using Raelorasz' Spark to light a signal fire on some bundles of wood to the northwest of the Nexus at coords 25.5, 22.
*Player note still valid by user beachboy:

Finally Raelorasz asks the player to lay to rest the corrupted aspect of the Prisoner of War, Keristrasza, which shows her as insane probably due to being forced to become Malygos's new consort. Could also explain Keristrasza's Broken Heart
*Player note: Players will have to defeat all of the bosses in the The Nexus in order to be able to finally release Keristrasza's corrupted aspect. Each boss is connected to one of the three click-able spheres to release her (Grand Magus Telestra=Telestra's Containment Sphere / Anomalus=Anomalus' Containment Sphere / Ormorok the Tree-Shaper=Ormorok's Containment Sphere). Proven exception is the Horde Commander and Alliance Commander, which are trash bosses that can be skipped, though Heroic replacements Commander Stoutbeard and Commander Kolurg have blue gear loot.*

I am a hunter. I had both pet and companion being active but this quest was completed for me.

1. Go to /way 25.34 21.81 (where the quest mark indicator shows on the map) and set up fire to the Signal Fire (a high pile of wood) using the quest item "Raelorasz' Spark". Remember you need to wait till the fire of the Signal Fire is distinguished if it is already burning.

2. Once the new Signal Fire started burning just watch the whole event starts and there is nothing you can do until the event ends.

Mainly events goes like this;

(1) Keristrasza will be flying down talking to you
(2) Keristrasza will do a trick to call Malygos
(3) You will be riding on the back of the Keristrasza and making a fun(?) and watching Malygos being attacked by bunch of other dragons while you are flying around a long big circle (I wish I could have an opportunity to shoot him a couple of bullets as well.. but sorry not this time..)
(4) Keristrasza will fly down and let you stand on the ground
(5) Malygos (with a full health?) flying down and start attacking the Keristrasza (sadly I can not help but watch.. )
(6) Keristrasza has been adapted by Malygos and both figures disappear

3. Event ends

If you want, you can start repeating from step 1 and watch the same event as many times as you want. But don't forget to hand the quest at the camp to complete the quest.

went to the wood - was alight already - it said quest completed - flew back to shield place and handed it in - so -

a - disappointing to not see how things turned out because

b - after hand in there seems to be no further quests, not even a breadcrumb to go elsewhere

so it must have been the "big finish" quest which seemed to auto-complete

(am I missing a follow up quest here?)

I had a quest marked for Coldarra in the Borean Tundra, but I couldn't pick up any quests. You need to talk to Raelorasz in the Transitus Shield and ask for a new Augmented Arcane Prison. Click in it your bags, and it should spawn a quest giver next to you. This should allow you to continue the quest chain.
