how to get a Hair Trigger? As far as I know, engineering 375-450 isn't implemented yet?

The Hair Trigger for the quest is also known as an Explosive Trigger. Get an Engineer to make that, and it'll complete that quest objective.
They're considered the same thing by the game, even though they have two different names. No doubt Blizzard will clear that up in time.

To get the crystallized fire for the Explosive Trigger you will need to mine nodes of quality above Cobalt; so, Saronite, etc.

An engineer can make the item for you... you may want to gather the mats prior. Mats for Explosive Trigger (Hair Trigger) are one cobalt bar and explosive powder... give to engineer and quest item is complete.

Currently at around 75-80g on Eonar... Still a great deal of money for that small reward. Hopefully they will drop more in price before I leave the Thundra.

Warning to frost mages! Roknar is immune 100% to frost spells. He also has a spell that throws you in the air a little, which interrupts spellcasts.

Just dump this quest unless your are an engineer or can get the Overcharged Capacitor form one. It leads nowhere and 145 gold for an overcharged capacitor is just ridiculous.

The coords for the tools are 64,23 near a pillar
the coords for rocknar are 81,42 kill hem and he drop
the overcharged capacitor can u buy in the AH or if u know a 375 engeneer he can make it with 4 cobaltbar and 1 crystalled earth

Roknor or w/e his name is is found near Death's Stand, he is encased in a big thing of ice with a couple of dead guys walking around him. When you get close enough he yells at you, and begins the fight. Really easy to solo :) Just gotta kill 'im and loot the dust.

However downrated this guy needs to just get a life and stop thinking there so great. He gave us a pointer. Beta is just about the same as normal/retail wow severs. If you dont think so. On my realm that overcharged item is going for over 400g right now. So get a damn life kid.

This quest even though down the line it will lead you to some nice rewards, its not worth the money your going to have to shovel out to get an overcharged capacitator.

81.12, 42.13 is not two seperate coords, but rather one over-precise one
the decimal numbers just narrow it down from one full grid "square"

Is this a joke, you have to buy the capacitor? Unreal. Is there no place in game you can pick one up? And they are selling for 34g now at AH. I recommend the trade channel, I got a capacitor for 4g.

Blizzard have plenty of form in terms of making quests require crafted items to complete, and this is no exception. Luckily, this one doesn't require anything much in the way of materials, and it's also one of the more common items made to powerlevel engineering, so if you can't find one on the AH reasonably cheaply, an engineer should be happy to to make one if you ask nicely.

From this quest line (including the reward from the previous quest) you will make 42.28g (57.97g at 80) if you take the most profitable item rewards from each quest and vendor them. After having done this math I am going to go ahead and buy a capacitor off the AH for 16g even though at first I felt this was too expensive. The rep and xp seem worth it now.

The name Overcharger is obviously a pun by Blizzard as well, not just you smarties. As implementing an item with pretty much the sole use of being a quest item could be foreseen to be pretty valuable.

The overcharged capacitors are created by engineers. You'll need to check your AH (or hit up an engineer friend) in order to get one.

Well it's not as clear as it should be... incased in ice could be due to someone casting it on him.

His name on the otherhand might be very misleading... 'Rok'nar sounds a bit rocky :P

I actually thought it might be an earth elemental as it's got the same model as previous earth elementals (Silithis, Badlands, etc)

I don't get it, the overcharged cap is suppose to drop from the "Library Guardian" Is there anyone who has actually gotten one from a drop. I been killing these guardians for hours, and no drop. Why should I have to buy the thing from AH for some overpriced amount. Requiring them to be purchased to complete the quest is insidious, no one should have to be subject to the AH pricing just to complete a quest. Other than a BOSS or Elite that I cannot kill at level 72, or the AH, where is this item dropped from?

So in my case, I do not have a toon that can make one, and I do not know any engineers that can either, NONE on my server AH, so how do I complete this quest. HA, this is just wrong on Blizz's part to require a crafted item without the ability to get it from a drop to complete a quest, FORCING YOU TO PAY EXORBITANT AMOUNTS TO PURCHASE ONE. I have a choice to either drop the quest and loose all the work I did for the other items, or wait, wait, wait, wait, wait until hell freezes before I can either buy it from AH or find an engineer that will make it for me. THIS IS JUST WRONG!

As a gnome engineer, I didn't find it horrid at all. I supposed having a few overcharged capacitors in my inventory (I've been levelling) didn't hurt. This whole area feels odd, though. I don't reckon I should mine gnomes, even mechanised ones. Being a gnome is odd from the start, I suppose; we start in a war zone, although I read somewhere that might change.

Thank to those who pointed out where the tools were. When I checked in to this thread, I swear I was standing 10 yards away, but hadn't seen them. As there doesn't seem to be a screenshot anymore, I'll just say the tools are on the south west of the structure not the south east. The easiest thing to do is follow along the oil pipe that comes along the ground to the structure from Midpoint Station (from the north west). Just before the oil pipe rises to join the structure you'll see the tools on your left on the other side of the vertical support pillar.

So far as I can tell (I have done a few thousand quests) this is the only one which requires another player to complete. I am not speaking of quests which are meant for groups or dungeons.

just cost me 75G in Stormwind AH for the capacitor, but made 40G of it back by selling all my trash loot and will prob get rest back with selling quest rewards and a bit of daily farming - no skin off my nose really to do this quest line

Blizzard should make this OVERCHARGED CAPACITOR to be a Drop ...
The Membership on WoW has dropped severly and it is next to impossible to find n Engineer willing to make these things much less creat them and post them for sell on the AH ... If not then this Quest is Dead...

about 33g on my server for the Overcharged Capacitor. But still it should be a drop or the item should be removed from the quest. As more expansions are made, these quests are less done and items like these will be made less.

Seems like 1 engineer had nothing to do but make the capacitors all day. 30g's a pop isn't too bad and a good supply at the Stormwind AH. The only part I didn't like was the long boat ride with no food, drink, and ladies at the pool.

Well . . . this was a first. I couldn't do any spell damage to Rocknar, but he couldn't do much to me either as I'm level 85 Mage. Out of frustration I hit him with my staff - something i never do - and voila took him down in 3-4 whacks. Surprised that wasn't already posted.

For those of you who were in trouble, just like I were, here is a quick summarization.

The objective of this quest is to travel to two different places in Borean Tundra aswell as a friendly Auction House (or a friendly engineer). The quest giver asks you to collect three items.

A Handful of Rocknar's Grit
Overcharged Capacitor
Crafty's Tools

The mob you need to kill for A Handful of Rocknar's Grit, Rocknar, is located at "81.50, 42.50". For those of you without a coordinate addon (get one), this is just a few yards west of Death's Stand in the south-eastern Tundra. He is 100% immune to frost, which was a pain for my mage, but other than that he's no harder than other mobs. Watch out for the Carrion Condor's on the rocks close to him, since aggroing them might be an issue.

Crafty's Tools can be found at "64.40, 23.10" underneath the big yellow oil platform in which you've spent earlier quests in the chain. No harder than that.

As for the Overcharged Capacitor, it can be crafted by engineers, (unless you get it from 3 different dungeons as a drop, which isn't very likely. Like others has stated, it really should be renamed to "Overpriced Capacitor", since mosts engineers sell these for a gazillion gold.

After reading all the comments I was prepared to spend over 30G on one from the AH but I was pleasantly surprised to find they only sell for around 9G on my server. Bought it on buyout and then I turned in the quest.

As a level 70 frost mage Rocknar was the most difficult part of this quest but even he wasn't that hard. Since he is immune to frost I just kept up my ice barrier and then alternated between using fire blast and then hitting him with my staff when I was waiting for the fire blast to finish cooldown. It took about 5 fire blasts to finish him off but my ice barrier absorbed all the damage in between my fire blast cooldown.

Pretty easy quest and the XP is nice.

And this is why I love Carbonite add on. It pointed me right to the tools. Now the Overcharged Capacitor is a different story. Guess I'm headed to the auction house since I don't have a char on this realm that's an engineer.

I was stuck in this quest for a long time in my main character, the price for an overcharged capacitator was too high at AH and I didn't bother to pursue it. That was when I first started playing wow, a little over 2 years ago. Today, I was grinding reputation for my alt that has engineering and decided to go inside a hole in a mountain in Storm Peaks to explore. There I found, these little Mechagnome Laborer and started killing it to mine. For my surprise, it dropped an Overcharged Capacitator! If I only new it back then... :) So, just a tip for those who had the same experience and didn't want to pay too much for this item in the AH. I found it at the Temple of Storms location, and you can see it in the map linked to these little guys. The OVERCHARGED capacitator dropped for me after the 3rd kill. :)

If you're a Frost Mage, there is a way to get Rocknar without changing specs if you are an Engineer. The key is to keep shielded while on the attack. Step 1: Use your Ice Barrier. Step 2: get close enough to pull him with and Explosive Decoy. It hits him pretty hard and takes nearly half his health. Step 3: attack with your weapon. It won't hurt him too bad but it helps a little. (remember to keep shielded with your Ice Barrier) Step 4: wait for the cool down then hit him with a Super Sapper Charge. If that doesn't get him, then wait for the cool down again and hit him again with another Super Sapper Charge or "The Big One". (you can also use your Mechanical Dragon in a Trinket slot to help fight. Takes a little time but it's doable.

everyone is right about the first 2 items.... the overcharged capacitor is only 13 gold and small silver at the AH or like everyone else said see if u can find a engineer with 375 or better to build u one cheap... best bet buy the materials for it cobalt bars.. less than 1 gold each and u need 4 and 1 Crystallized Earth at 3 1/2 gold... so in the end u may loose a couple gold but u still get the exp... lol have fun ya'll

Once again Blizzard gets an F for failing to realize not everyone has a high (or for that matter low) level engineer that can make the Overcharged Capacitor. Once again Blizzard failed to realize when they pull crap like this people, being people, will understand not everyone has an engineer that can make this so they will make a bunch and sell them on the AH for a 2,000% profit. (numbers made up as I do not have an engineer to calculate the cost of making one) but I'm sure it's close. Further, blizzard get's an F minus as they tied this quest into loremaster so IF you want loremaster, you have to A. create another toon to become an engineer and craft one or B. Pay through the nose to get one on the AH. This is Wrath content and Blizzard STILL hasn't figured it out. After . . . how many years? It's not a mistake, it's not an oversight, it was intended. Blizzard loves to find ways to screw with the players. Sadly, they know we'll stick around hoping they'll change and not screw with us. It's a great game, moments like this makes ya wonder. . . is it really THAT great? Oh well, nothing says I HAVE to go for loremaster.
