Really, why can't we get a reskin of unobtainable mounts or mythic mounts. Is collecting 300 mounts not enough of a mythic effort that we can't get something that isn't just a recolour? This one really should be something special, not just another variation on a mount that already has 14 other models.

I dont know why ppl are downvoting the just complaints. Gladiator mounts, as well as the vicioust war mounts also cater to a small % people, I see no reason why we as collector (of mounts!) need to get a reskin every time (kite, dragon, firehawk) while new mount are being made every season and small expac. I want to use it for other thing beside showing off.

Before everyone continues to complain, this mount was planned back in MoP and just never made it in, so for them to bring it back like they did the red waterstrider who was ALSO supposed to come in MoP isn't a bad thing

Must say, if you actually achieved 300 mounts you deserve that title too <Lord of the Reins> , as a mount collector ,i dont think i can get to 300 before legion unless i buy store/tgc mounts.

Let me see if I can make this more understandable for those that are still confused.

I recently talked to a GM and I have (for the most part) figured this out, although I am still a little confused myself about some things. Below is what I do understand..

Do not look in your Mount tab (Shift + P). Blizzard uses the "usable" mount idea per character. What that means is each toon will have a different number of "usable" mounts depending on Faction, Class and Profession. The actual number in the achievement is misleading, it is the total of ONE toon who can ride that number of mounts. It is your job to find that ONE toon. They will NOT tell you!
Check the WoW Armory and you will see the actual number of "usable" mounts for each of your toons. If you have alot like me, it is a painstaking task!
Personally I think this is just idiotic, it makes this achievement misleading, more difficult and very confusing!

Lol blizzard... even she/he worked ass off for year... I couldn't even recognize if someone around me with this mount "Just another pandaland mount" At least green firehawk was somewhat unique and cool.

Working out what counts for the achievement, and what makes it go up by one on whom, is an exercise in frustration. Trying to work out if it was worth sending my Paladin to get the Argent Tournament charger, I decided to bite the bullet and just count the mounts manually on several characters of both factions with a combination of class-specific mounts and professions. I used an add-on to hide opposite faction mounts from the journal.

Some time and one headache later (I am at 287 of 300 mounts), I feel confident saying:

profession mounts count on everyone, even if they do not have the profession
class specific mounts count, but only on that class
for some reason, the Pale Thorngrazer, faction mount of Wrynn's Vanguard, can be ridden by Horde and appears to count cross-faction towards the mount count

For example, my Horde Warlock who is an engineer and leatherworker, has a mount count of 287 (achievement pane>statistics>character>gear), and so does my Alliance Paladin, who has no professions. My Alliance mage with tailoring, who learned the four carpets, has a count of 285. My Alliance mage with engineering who has learned both engineering mounts has a mount count of 285. If the profession was necessary for the mount to count, there would be a discrepancy.

Note: There is no faction discrepancy between my mount counts as I have both the Horde Deathwheel and Alliance Treadblade. And yes, I'm sending Carrot to start the Argent Tournament dailies and get her Paladin charger, as that should bump her mount count up by one, making her my official 'log on when you get a new mount' character.

ETA: And yeah, I could have just used the statistics and compared across characters but all the conflicting information about what counts/what doesn't count was bugging me, so I decided to count and compare journal to stats across characters, just to be sure!

Let's imagine for a second that Blizzard is getting tons of complaints about people who see a different number of mounts located on the in-game tab if that individual also plays a horde character. They may get to around 250 mounts, as an example per my case, yet the total mount number says I have 300+ overall.

Next, let's think from a business perspective on how to get mount collectors to play more: actually MAKE the mounts from both factions count towards your mount totals used in the achievements.

If Blizzard were smart, imagine they fixed this inconsistency by simply changing it so your actual TOTAL mount count listed on the in-game mount tab is what will start to be what is used in calculating progress for these achievements.

Since the mount for this achievement is simply the last unused Cloud Serpent skin, I honestly believe that this is their plan. It is an INCREDIBLE insult to mount collectors to have such a meaningless reward for a feat such as collecting 300+ mounts.

So, my theory is that they are planning on introducing a 350 mount achievement QUITE soon, in fact, as soon as they make the announcement that they are, in fact, going to allow your total mount count from both factions to start counting. Then, mount collectors like pretty much anyone who took the time to read this message and got this far down, heh, would actually understand why this Cloud Serpent was chosen, it's effectively meaningless. The 350 mount reward, if what I've been *hinted* at how they plan to do things, will actually be a unique model and not just a reskin of other mounts you see every day.

Blizzard may seem "dumb" at times, but they understand that collectors are some of their most important and dedicated players. By making people who perhaps only played Alliance in the past and only collected Alliance mounts, this change would force them to actually go and experience the Horde side of things to progress further in their mount collecting. And that time is money in Blizzard's eyes.

Personally, making this change and doing what I am suggesting/hinting at is a no-brainer and I actually WOULD consider them "dumb" if they did NOT take this route fairly soon, either in the Legion pre-patch or shortly after Legion launches.

Having a paladin toon is advantageous in this achievement because of 2 class specific mount and 1 argent crusade paladin-only mount.

I was looking over my list of mounts and saw that I had 215 mounts, yet I did not have 坐騎大遊行/坐騎大遊行 so I put in a ticket to find out why and now I am sharing it with everyone in case they run into the same problem. Here is the response:

I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to contact us, and hope this finds you well!

There seems to be quite a bit of confusion when it comes to the Mount Collection Achievements so I wanted to cover that with ya really quick =D

There's always a bit of confusion on those achievements, so don't feel bad here. It's a bit tricky to try to explain as well. =P

The achievement for the mounts counts each character's mounts separately, which is why if you've got a Warlock, Death Knight or Paladin, they'll have the extra mounts available specifically for their class.

There is also a difference between what the list shows and what the achievement counts. The list will count the total number of alliance and horde mounts together, but the achievement will only count what the character has available to them. That means the achievement will only count the mounts of that particular character's faction, which is different than what the mount list will show, if that makes sense.

So it boils down to one of your characters having over 200 mounts in the list, but less than 200 are available for them to use, so it won't count the achievement just yet. =/

The total for these achievements is to reach X mounts on one character, not account wide (X being 50 for Leading the Cavalry, 100 for Mountain of Mounts, etc). Horde mounts will not show up in the mount list for Alliance toons, and vice-versa.

This is also the reason that it's a good idea to use a Death Knight, Paladin or a Warlock to track this achievement. They will have all the mounts available to that faction, as well as their two specific class mounts. Those 2 mounts do not show up on other classes mount list, making it so that your Pally or Lock will always have more mounts than your Rogue or Mage (etc.).

To get the achievement progress to update, just log into your Pally or Lock and open up your mount list, then check your progress and it should reflect any and all mounts you've gotten thus far.

Profession specific mounts WILL show up on toons that do not have the profession, even though it will not let you mount them, so obtaining them on an alt with that profession, then logging on your Pally or Lock will add those into your total number of mounts.

Hope this helps clear up the confusion that there might have been regarding these achievements! If there is anything else we can do to make sure you have an excellent time in Azeroth, Sanctuary and beyond, let us know. :)

This achievement seems to be buggy right now. I got a mount from an achievement and it took a week or so for it to finally show on my progress. Last night I was sitting at 299/300 and I finally got the Astral Cloud Serpent, and nothing happened. I even logged into my DK and Pally, and I even closed the game and reopened it. Even logged in this morning and still didn't get the achievement. Will put in a ticket.
------- Edit: After logging into 4 different characters, it finally popped.

Do the new class mounts count towards the achievement account-wide or just for the respective character. They appear in the collection as unusable so I assume the latter. This would make it most sensible to get the Paladin mount + tints as they would increase your count by four.

I was 4 mounts away from this in 7.2, once 7.2.5 hit I was logging over all of my toons to use the new toys to learn them all flight paths they may not have had, once I got to my alli palli, the moment I logged on him I got the achievement. I do NOT have any of the new class mounts yet for any class. I went through my mount list and the only new mount I have is this one. So I really have no idea where the other 4 mounts came from, if this is a bug, or if it WAS bugged and some older mounts I had were not counting for this. Either way, I guess this is something off my todo list now.

Be careful because Cantralian's comment "profession mounts count on everyone, even if they do not have the profession"], is spot on.
Meaning if you already have profession mounts on one character in your account - all characters ALREADY got em.

So don't be like my... friend who thought he could get the 5 missing mounts for the achievement by getting Tailoring and Engineering on an old level 60 Paladin and then paying for a level 100 boost. Oh, I'm...er I mean *he* is so unhappy now...

I found this method to be the most helpful since it tells you what you currently have, what you are currently missing and where you can get it. and with this method you get to actually SEE the mounts.

I am also using this method to gather my pets. 2 birds 1 stone.

Follow these instructions. This is what I did:

Look up your character on battle.net (armory). On the main page of your character
Click Companions & Mounts (it's a link to the left side of the screen under Summary). You will now see 2 tabs (Companions, Mounts).
Click on Mounts
Click Not Collected
Then to the right side of the screen under the Filters... field,
Click Show Advanced Filters.
Select Vendor, Quest, Faction

When I did this I noticed that I had not bought any of the Blood Elf Mounts (7 of them) even though I thought I did.

So with this tool you can easily see what you have and what you are missing and then go about getting your 100 mounts! Also use this tool for getting you pets. BAM!

The method of counting mounts by Blizzard is slightly buggy. I just purchased two grinded Reputation mounts and added them to my collection at the same time but strangely only one counted to the total.

I searched for my character on the WoW website and in my profile only one of the mounts was collected. The other was still listed as uncollected even though I could summon and ride around on it!

I submitted a ticket and received this reply:

Greetings

This is GM Aaokki

I would like to let you know that this achievement is usable by a single character.
If you learn a new mount and your total does not increase, another character on your account can ride more mounts than your current character.

You can update your achievement total by logging on to the character that has access to the most mounts on your account. You can look up your characters on the Wowhead Profiler to see their individual mount totals and determine which character the achievement is tracking. (http://www.wowhead.com/list)

I logged in on all of my characters and I found that my count for the missing mount only went up after I checked my Paladin. After that, the mount also showed up on WoWhead and the WoW Armory on the website.

TLDR: If the mount tracker is not counting your new mount, relog on ALL your toons. But usually, its the DK, Pally or Warlock that will add to the missing count.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but just fyi you're class and proffesion mounts count separately and INCREMENTALLY. As in- Death knights and paladins have 2 class mounts, Tailors have 4 flying carpets, Demon hunters have 1, etc. I say this becasue I was stuck at 299. I logged into all of my characters trying to see who had the most of a currency, then all the sudden BOOM!, got it as I logged in(on my paladin which is weird because I only have the 2 class mounts and he's not 110). So if you're in my shoes and looking for the last one, or just got one at 299 and the achievement isn't dinging- trying switching characters, you may already have it!

While there are many comments and threads about mount collecting achievements, I would like to make clear a few things since they are still debatable.

As of patch 8.1 there is a chain of 10 achievements starting by collecting 10 mounts to the last one which is gained by collecting 400 mounts
Note that currently there are 497 obtainable mounts (that can count toward the achievement counter (or as blizzard says: 'Usable by a single character' but this is not a true statement as we will see below)

Just for reference these achievements are listed below:
1. 獸欄管理者
2. 塞滿獸倉
3. 帶領騎兵隊 that gives you 白化龍韁繩
4. 堆積如山的坐騎 / 堆積如山的坐騎 that gives you 藍色龍鷹 / 紅色龍鷹
5. 我們需要更多馬鞍 / 我們需要更多馬鞍 that gives you 翠玉熊貓人風箏線
6. 坐騎大遊行 / 坐騎大遊行 that gives you 裝甲藍色龍鷹 / 裝甲紅色龍鷹
7. 坐騎奇觀 / 坐騎奇觀 that gives you 魔焰隼鷹
8. 騎靈王 / 騎靈王 that gives you 蒼藍穹天雲蛟
9. 獸欄永遠不嫌大 / 獸欄永遠不嫌大 that gives you 刺骨霜片核心

Before we begin, lets make clear that the number that appears in your collection tab is not the one that matters for the achievement because this number represents the total number of mounts you own on YOUR ACCOUNT
There are many mounts (mostly main cities/racial mounts) that have a counterpart in the opposite faction.
For example if you obtain the 冬泉霜刃豹韁繩 in an alliance toon you will automatically obtain 毒皮暴掠龍之哨 in your horde toons
That means that in your collection tab will be added 2 mounts but actually in your achievement tracker will be added 1 mount (since a specific character can use 1 additional mount, not 2).

First of all, all mounts are acount-wide except 瓦許伊爾海馬 but some of them are not counting on all of your toons
Below I will list the mounts that can confuse you since some of them are counting on all of your toons but some of them aren't

CONTROVERSIAL MOUNTS

-PROFESSION MOUNTS
There are some profession mounts that can craft/learn/ride only while you own a specific profession BUT ONCE YOU LEARN THEM THEY ARE COUNTING ON ALL OF YOUR TOONS. That mean that it doesnt mater if you learn them in you main/alt and you can even delete this profession once you learn these mounts.
These mounts are:
Tailoring: 飛毯 , 莊嚴飛毯 , 寒霜飛毯 , 爬行飛毯
Leatherworking: 騎乘鞍座 , 領角鹿騎乘鞍座

-LEGION CLASS HALL MOUNTS
ALL LEGION CLASS HALL MOUNTS ARE COUNTING ON ALL OF YOUR TOONS ONCE YOU LEARN THEM NO MATTER IF THEY CAN USE THEM
That means that every new class hall mount that you learn in a new class (using your alts) is counting as a '+1' in your achievement.
You have a potential of +21 Mounts (toward the achievement) if you collect each one of the class hall mounts (pretty challenging tbh)
Priest: 大祭司光誓追尋者
Mage: 大法師稜彩圓盤
Death Knight: 邪裔鎮壓者腐朽韁繩
Monk: 班盧，宗師良伴
Warrior: 戰鬥領主嗜血戰龍鋼鐵韁繩
Shaman: 狂怒風暴圖騰
Demon Hunter: 斬魔者破魔尖嘯獸
Hunter: 恐怖狼鷹的信任 , 勇猛狼鷹的信任 and 忠誠狼鷹的信任
Rogue: 致命掠鴉韁繩 , 血色掠鴉韁繩 , 禍害掠鴉韁繩 and 影尊劫殺掠鴉
Paladin: 閃閃發光的大領主黃金戰騎韁繩 , 冷酷無情的大領主復仇戰騎韁繩 , 世代相傳的大領主悍勇戰騎韁繩 and 堅定不移的大領主警戒戰騎韁繩
Warlock: 虛空領主混沌憤怒戰馬 , 虛空領主厄運憤怒戰馬 and 虛空領主硫磺憤怒戰馬

-CLASS MOUNTS ***NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH LEGION CLASS HALL MOUNTS***
SOME CLASS MOUNTS ARE COUNTING ON ALL OF YOUR TOONS ONCE YOU LEARN THEM NO MATTER IF THEY CAN USE THEM BUT THERE ARE SOME OF THEM THAT AREN'T)
Below I will list/show you which are these mounts and how they are working:

MOUNTS THAT ARE COUNTING ON ALL OF YOUR TOONS ONCE YOU LEARN THEM
Warlock: 惡魔戰馬 , 恐懼戰馬
Death Knight: 亞榭洛死亡戰騎
Paladin: 銀白戰騎 (This can be bought in cost of 100 勇士徽印 )

MOUNTS THAT ARE ***NOT*** COUNTING ON ALL OF YOUR TOONS
Paladin: 召喚主教的伊萊克 , 召喚大主教伊萊克
Demon Hunter: 魔刃豹

As we can see, Paladins got 2 mounts that are counting only on them while Demon Hunter's got only 1
That makes Paladins the holders of the highest possible number in the game.
Theorytically speaking, you dont even need Demon Hunter's 魔刃豹 as you can see.

-VASHJ'IR MOUNT ***NOT ACCOUNT WIDE***
瓦許伊爾海馬
THIS MOUNT NEED TO BE OBTAINED ON EACH TOON INDIVIDUALLY.
Its CRUSIAL to obtain this mount on your PALADIN in order to get the highest possible number because if you don't, your paladin will got 1 less mount than the higher possible number.
In order to Obtain this mount you need to complete a short questline starting with 決勝時刻 and ending with 深淵坐騎
If the starting quest is not available for you, make sure to complete the attunement quests of Broken Isles / Argus / Kul TIras or Zandalar, then the quest will be available for you.

Keep in mind that the achievement tracker counts each time you log in with a toon.
For example if you log in with your Paladin and your Paladin got the highest number of mounts (lets say: 382), then when you log in in your main the counter will still say '382', even if you get one more mount the tracker will not change but the next time you will log in with your paladin the tracker will say '383'
You can check each toon's mounts in Achievements tab -> Statistics -> Character -> Mounts Owned

-HOW TO GET THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE NUMBERS OF MOUNTS
-Have a Paladin and level him at least to level 80 (that will grants you the 召喚主教的伊萊克 , 召喚大主教伊萊克 and gives you the accessibility to obtain the 瓦許伊爾海馬
-Get 瓦許伊爾海馬 on your Paladin
-Learn Leatherworking and Tailoring and Create/Learn the 6 mounts we mentioned above (after you learn them you are free to delete your profession or whatever you want)
-Have a Warlock at level 40 ( at level 40 you have learned both 惡魔戰馬 and 恐懼戰馬 )
-Have a Death Knight (no matter what level your DK will be, you only need his 亞榭洛死亡戰騎 )
*Dont forget 銀白戰騎 that can be obtained only by Paladin but I scarcely listed it here since we can consider it as a normal mount

At this Point your Paladin will be +2 mounts that anyother toon (if this toon got 瓦許伊爾海馬 ) otherwise will be +3.
You dont have to log in to your Paladin everytime you obtain a new mount, Just make sure to do it when you are 2-3 mounts away from an achievement

I just did the Mount Parade achievement (200 mounts) and now trying to think, if I should get this title achievement as well.. I started collecting mounts in 2011 lol.

The next part would be following:

1) To get all the rest Faction mounts.
2) Rest of the Achievement mounts.. Hardest part would be raid metas as you can still do old ones just once per week per char.

This would lead to somewhat around 240 mounts. PvP adds about 30 mounts. Calendar only a few.

Rest 30 should come from luck and Garrison.

Gonna be pain in ass, if I decide to do it.

For some reason I thought the amount of mounts we needed for this title was four hundred. I was so excited when the achievement popped up, but now I feel kind of cheated. I'm good with keeping it though! I was at the trading post collecting my Crusty Crawler, when the Heavenly Azure Cloud Serpent was also added to my collection! I'm going to buckle down and try for five hundred!
