I would really like it if Blizz stopped rewarding incredibly time consuming feats, like collecting 400 mounts, with just basic recolors of other mounts. I'd like a reason to use the 400 mount reward over one of the cooler, more unique mounts I would have collected on the way to obtaining it.

Did we get something worse as a reaction to our complaints? 400 mounts is insane, its huge amounts of RNG and exalted rep grinding. There is no easy way to achieve this, it'd be the culmination of some of the hardest achievements in the game... And the reward is something that already has two recolours on in the game. Is it so crazy to ask for a unique, special model to represent the incredibly hard work to get here.

I still think its totaly stupid from blizzard to give a Ground mount, for the 400 mount achievement, yeah you can show it off for a few month, then we get flying in BFA, and no one will ever use it again.

Even some of the other models for lower numbers of mounts, are way better, so why give a crappy looking mount for some thing that req way more work to get?

Grats on first price, you get this Skoda Fabia 2000 edition, with a new paint.
Grats on second Price, you get a Porsche Panamera.

This is probably the most disappointing reward for one of the hardest achievements in the game. A recolor of a mount that came out 7 years ago (or more than 10 years if you count the Raven Lord), for people who's been farming gold, reputations, raids, dungeons, rares and achievements for many years? That doesn't even fly? Is a fresh new model too much to ask?

Like they should honestly feel ashamed. Who thinks this is okay? Who thinks its okay that they give garbage rewards for the hardest achievements, and put the few quality mounts on the shop?

Shu-Zen, or something equivalent, should've been the reward.

I'm not sure what is going on with the achievement for this, but my Paladin and Druid have the exact same amount of mounts... which kinda makes no sense since the paladin has more due to class mounts ( 4 Legion horses and 2 original ). The achievement also is having a hard time updating because I just got a mount and I'm still stuck at 398 instead of 399. Just a heads up!

Even though this mount (and the 3 other colorations of it) are all already reskinned raptors, this model is still probably my favorite of all ground mounts. You can bet I'll be showing it off, flight or not, once I get it.

it's like they just dust off re-colors of mount models that didn't get used (as a collectible mount) in a previous expansion. for once it would be nice to get a unique mount that was made specifically for this series of achievements.

If you guys don't like the mount, feel free not to grind for it. Nobody is forcing you to. Like someone else already said, consider yourselves lucky that Blizzard is one of very few companies that even gives out physical (you know what I mean) rewards for achievements. All the negativity is completely unnecessary.

That being said, the Biting Frostshard Core would be far more fitting for 400 than this thing. Even the Heavenly Azure serpent would tbh. I also do agree that the higher number achievements should be the ones that reward flyers. Maybe a rework in the future? Probably not though.

Blizzard if you are reading this, please make the 450/500 achievement reward a flying mount or add some jetpacks to the mount equipment.

I call mine TAFI. It full name would be Time Absorbing Fell Infused Chicken of Doom.
I dont really care much that Tafi is a reskin.
But due to the amount of time thrown into multi alt dungeon runs, mob farming and such. I will be riding this chicken till it breaks.

If we somehow now get mount equipment to get ground mounts into the air....

I understand all the comments on this section, and you are all right, and I might get downvotes for this but I actually like this mount a lot. No other mount in the game has a flashier, richer color and to be honest, if you forget the way you earn it, it is one of the best looking mounts in the game, if not the best. By far my favorite ground mount. Anyone mounted on it stands out of big crowds extensively and everyone's impressed by it. It's a lot more noticeable than its two recolors as well.

ON THE OTHER HAND, it makes absolutely zero sense that it doesn't fly. That's a big mistake.

why do they always make the mounts i like gated behind these achievements. I was hoping Blizzard would add this mount to the game, then they announced it will be reward for 400 mounts, Way to kick ppl in the gut Blizzard. They always find ways to stick it to their most dedicated fans, whether it by giving garbage rewards for extremely hard feats or on the other hand giving the chance for players to get something they always wanted only for it to be gated by an extremely arduous, time-consuming achievements that only a handful of people will be able to do.

It is so damn unbelievable that all this models, the orange, purple and green colored ravenlord also can not fly. I can't say how disappointed i was, after flying with this mount on traveling routes, and after owning all the models, it is a non flying bird. So please Blizzard, if you didn't see this while making even Kuafon flyable: It is really time to make these rare birds able to fly. Why not, when even a mouse and a pig can fly?

I'm really surprised at the overwhelmingly negative comments on this reward mount. I guess its because its a recolour but I absolutely love it.
Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder and nostalgia is also is a factor for me. Anzu was the first mount that sparked my interest in collecting back in TBC and it was the first mount i actively farmed. I loved it back then and its still on my favorite list today. Flametalon was a great looking recolour and proved to be surprisingly hard to get, requiring over 250 attempts. Then in WoD, Voidtalon was amazing. I only started seriously collecting rare mounts last year (2020) so I had to get Voidtalon the hard way without insta spawns on server resets or class trials. I finally got it on boxing day and the collection method was (and still is) the most original and exciting way of collecting any mount in the game. I can still vividly remember the planning and hours that went into it, the competition with other collectors and then finally seeing that white portal. Then i saw this frenzied version and it inspired me to collect the 400 just to get it. Not only do i love it, its also an incredibly apt reward. I haven't liked any of the other reward mounts along the way but this mount made it all worth it for me.

It's interesting to me that Blizzard took the time to change the Scrapforged Mechaspider a few patches ago and give it the ability to fly. In fact they turned it into an X-wing fighter, it's really cool. And that's not even a reward for anything special like this. You would think they would take the time to change a mount like this so it could fly or give it some special bells and whistles. It doesn't even have any interesting /specialeffects. I must admit, when I mounted it in Elysian Hold, I was surprised when it wouldn't lift off the ground. Surely a mount that is a reward for 400 collected mounts would fly! Nope. Sad.

Just got this. Leapt out the Mage Tower door expecting to fly. Broke both legs and shattered my pelvis. 6 months in Stormwind Cathedral intensive care unit. 2 years physical therapy and rehab in Ironforge among dwarves that would yell insults at me as a motivational tool. Now there's a yellow exclamation point above my head and people keep running up to me asking to do a quest called Grounded With Extreme Prejudice and the follow up quest You'll Never Walk Again - Or Fly For That Matter.

Lazy is the word for this quest "reward". I thought the 350 mount was insulting but to do another ground mount at 400 as well? And if you look at #500, it too is a ground mount. All that work for 10 lousy points and a mount I'll never use?
Way to put zero thought into this lazy blizzard. ugh.

Well I know I won't hurry to obtain any more mounts, not worth the time nor the money.

I think, if the rumours about dynamic ground mounts are true, then I'll forgive Blizzard for this oversight. Imagine Mario Karting your way through Elwynn on one of these.

Just got this and I love the look, I just wish it could fly (just like I think Anzu not being able to fly is a crime, I love him, But it hardly gets any use with dynamic flying being a thing)

OMG.....was so excited to get the Frenzied Feltalon and WTF, it doesn't fly? Who had this bright idea? (pun intended)

This is a beautiful mount and I was so looking forward to zooming around on my fluorescent green birdie. Gutted as I had a big push recently to collect mounts and feel as though someone at Blizz has been sat in the corner laughing at me.

Why make a clearly flyable creature not capable of flying - it never occurred to me that it wouldn't fly. So sad..... :'(
