According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/reins_of_the_swift_spectral_tiger.htm (most information sourced from there), the expansion was released on the 15th of April 2008 and the set loots are Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger, Fishing Chair, and Goblin Gumbo Kettle. The lowest Buy It Now price starts around $850 USD upwards to $1,000 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 10 items. Prices have been increasing steadily due to Fires of Outland expansion having sold out.

Facts:

You receive one rare and one epic item version when you redeem the code (free).
The level 20 mount (rare) and the level 40 mount (epic) look similar and either can be traded in-game.
Both the rare and epic version can be learned by one character.
When learned, each tiger mount counts toward the Mountain 'o Mounts achievement (Horde or Alliance).

Blizzard has announced that the "removal" of the BoP flag on most TCG mounts is intended and expected to go live ( Blue Post ):

In the upcoming content patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade, we are changing the Upper Deck Trading Card Game mounts to be Bind-on-Use instead of Bind-on-Pickup. This will allow players to sell newly redeemed TCG mounts in-game through the trade window, Auction House or via CoD. The primary goal behind this change is to help reduce the number of players who are getting scammed by trading for an invalid mount code. As part of this update, the NPC vendor functionality currently in place for these mounts will be removed, and instead the mount (both epic and non-epic when applicable), will now be immediately placed in your inventory upon the verified redemption of the code. If you have already redeemed one of these codes and have not purchased both the epic and non-epic versions from the vendor window, it's important that you do so before the patch is released.

This update will affect the Spectral Tiger, Swift Spectral Tiger, X-51 Nether-Rocket, X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME, Big Battle Bear, and Magic Rooster Egg. Items that were obtained before the patch will not be affected by this change and will continue to be soulbound to the character that purchased them.

They are not so much as removing the BoP flag as they are creating a new item without it.

Prices of theese if people sell them ingame will most likely go for insane amounts, average ebay price is 1000 USD, buying gold for 1000 USD is a aproximately 100k gold, so if the seller wanna earn it in rl money it's 1000 USD, if they wanna sell it and earn money ingame it will be around 80-110k gold cba counting exactly since different gold sellers have different prices om servers.. That is some serious ammounts of gold!
Downrated or not, still will go for much for those aiming to buy ingame

The Spectral Tiger is now also available as a rare drop from Landro's Gift Box. I saw a dude selling the reins a few nights ago for 70k, saying he'd gotten it from the box. Lucky guy. Feathermoon server, Horde side.

Is there any real selling point to this mount now? I mean... it looks cool, but with the new expansion how many people are going to be riding land mounts? They have become almost obsolete. I've wanted this BAD for a long time but now, as I wait for my FEDEX copy of Cata to arrive, getting swooped down upon by flying drake mounts in classic zones I wonder how much I would I even use it?

I got the Landro's Pet Box in the deck that came with my Cataclysm collector's edition- when i redeemed it, I got 50 sandbox tigers, and the Reigns of the Swift Spectral Tiger. I was stunned to receive this mount. It was not BOP so I could in theory have sold it for a massive profit- instead, I chose to use the mount myself, and it is now the only mount I ride. I have gotten some comments and people have asked me where to get it, and I tell them I got incredibly lucky.

As for not being able to show it off- even once my toon learns flying (as I redeemed it on my new alt that I intend to become my main), I will still use this mount in the cities, BGs, or in instances where mounting is possible.

Hello all, i'm gonna warn you against a scammer I met, to prevent you from doing the same mistake.

The tiger is the mount I desire the most in wow, so I made annoucements to buy it.

One day, a guy whispers me he sold it.
But to sell it, he said he had to migrate, so I had to pay something BEFORE the trade, so he would not pay the transfer for nothing (if I changed my mind)

I had to pay 100k, and after, he would migrate and sell me the two tigers for 700k.

He never shew again.

Luckily,I sent a request to the GM, and they give me back my 100k.

The morale is: never pay before, just gold vs tiger, nothing else.

Just got this mount and of course, the rare version. I learned this Swift version and am very happy with it.

Pulled the card from a box of WoW Archives cards. I traded gold to a friend for one box and bought two others. This was the only mount I got, but also, the only one I wanted.

I would say I got extremely lucky as you could literally spend thousands on cards and still not get it.

If these were still valued in the thousands of dollars range, I would have sold it but the price on ebay has fallen in the years since they were originally released. At this time they are regularly selling for $500-600.

I still think it is the single best looking mount in the game. I have many rares, but none of the others really compare. The spectral wolf or horse look like cheapened versions of this as well so please don't try to argue that point.

If you are looking for it, I sure wish you the best of luck in your search. Don't get discouraged. If all else fails, buy one.

A friend of mine SMS'd me earlier tonight:

"There's a Blue Spectral Tiger on my server's AH, for 600K-is it worth it?"

My reply was something like:

"Hmm...well, they go for $500-$650 on ebay, and they might not be as rare as you might think, it's from the following 3 sets:

Fires of Outland, Archives, and Class Starter Deck

but if you have 600000 gold laying around, why not? "

Seems an hour later it was off the AH, it either sold for 600K or someone offered a good deal. We'll never know :)

Undoubtedly the most prestigeous and beautiful ground mount in the game to date, the Swift Spectral tiger has always been my biggest goal and dream concerning World of Warcraft. After years of longing and planning, even saving up real money for this gem but always feeling those could be better spent elsewhere, I had the spectacular luck of having a friend with a very big heart. He got this card for a bargain price from a private seller in Maine who had been trying to sell it for quite some time but to no avail. People on Ebay tend to go for the renowned sellers and he had gotten it from a booster pack, his first at that, so he was happy for whatever profit he could turn.

So, I told my friend to sell the card for 600 euro once back in Europe. He agreed, after first having said he'd want me to have it. Months passed and I had more or less come to terms with the fact that I would not have this mount, since my moneymaking skills in-game ain't huge and I'm not exactly rich outside of the game either.

And then, one day just before my birthday, I get a notion from the postal office that I have a package arriving, a "high value" package. I have no idea what it is (BUT I do have a hunch) and I am on the verge of calling them and telling them to return to sender, that it must be a mistake but was assured that it was adressed to me. So I go down to pick it up, but Io and behold...my ID card had expired, so they wouldn't allow me. I had to phone the postal office, get a Power of Attorney, which you NEED AN ID CARD TO GET! I went bonkers and said "I am ME, this is sent to ME, are you telling me that a small piece of plastic can verify or deny who I am in reality?"...so they agreed to get me the PoA as long as my mom would co-sign and prove her ID...I growled a bit but settled down.

What happened next? Well, we went up to the store (here the postal office is in stores...moronic) and it was the day before Easter, so it was PACKED. We waited in line for 1 hour, and then it was our turn. It took the clerk 30 minutes to get the Power of Attorney sorted (he was new) and the line kept growing behind us. What happens next? Well, JUST as I go up to pay the shipping fee and he's got my package in his hands, the card machine stops working...it dies due to overload. I almost exploded right then and there. We were then forced to go outside and withdraw cash, and the queue was...30 people, since ALL card machines in the entire store had died.

After a good additional 30 minutes, we FINALLY could go back and get the package...4 hours later.

We go out to the car, I open the package...and there is the Spectral tiger card...glistening and packaged with such care...I actually shed a tear. No doubt the biggest triumf in my WoW life, and I will never feel saddened about missing out on the Swift Zulian tiger again since I now have THE Cat in the World of Warcraft.

I like it more when you are in Shadowform. You can only see the armor and not the rest of the body. It is very transparent, almost it does not exist.

Ebay markets this mount at $400.00-$900.00 USD. In WoW this mount is going rack you up a hefty 375,000 gold roughly. Is this mount worth the money? As far as out of the game is concerned, I would never pay so much for a mount but then again, how hardcore of a WoW player are you?

I had one of those in my Landros Loot Box from the Cataclysm CE - Damn, I was so stupid and sold it for 250k. It took around 3 minutes until it was sold.

After playable races, some mounts need to be remodel too. I used to love this mount but compare to new ones i mean cmon its almost 2014 and compare to new mounts (any of it after wotlk), it look like incomplete graphic failure... sorry but its true no heart feelings :p

Got mine when I decided to buy a single pack of cards and not even knowing the Spectral Tiger existed. However, it was redeemed on my old main whom of which was on my dad's account. I don't have it on my account :c Should I pay to transfer my rooms over to his account and then his toons to my account so I can have my mount again? Would it be worth it? I have 11 90's lol.

I've just purchased Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger on Ravencrest EU for 765K gold.

The prices have gone up quite a lot lately. Earlier this year it costed around 600K. Now it's getting sold for around 750-900K

I wonder what it will cost later in the next expansion

Purchased the blue version of this mount a few days ago on US Lightbringer server. It cost me 250k which wasn't too hard to farm with those garn nighthowls. The swift version was selling for 450k. Bottom line is this mount is a thumbs up 👍 and is totally worth it

Am I the only one unable to even see the model of it ingame in the mount journal? I searched for "Swift Spectral Tiger" like 10 times with separate words & combinations etc. Still it didn"t show any results.

I can easily see other mounts which I haven't collected yet. So is the mount removed or do I have to purchase the mount to even see it in the journal or what the hell is wrong?

I wonder, why this or other tcg mounts in general are incredibly popular in US and so rare in EU?

We rarely see any and they go for goldcap, while US can get them for half as much.

If you check any tcg tracking websites, US have about 20 tigers in AH, eu has 0, so goes for other tcg.

I purchased mine for 420k gold on Darkspear US around july 2015, but now it tends to hang around 850k, as of may 2016. Its still worth it though, as it is a gorgeous mount, especially when you pair it up with 小鬼靈之虎.

Does anyone know if there is actually 2 chances of getting the TCG card from the original Feast of Winter Veil set? I know there is 1 chance from the Fires of Outland booster pack that it comes with but I think many years ago I read somewhere that there is also a chance to get one in the pack of winter veil cards in the set as well. I can't remember if this is true or not but if anyone can verify that would be great. I am just interested in knowing all possible ways to get the card from a pack or set. Thanks!

Back in 2010 I bought 2 Cataclysm Special Edition boxes with the hopes the value would appreciate over time! It didn't generate quite the value I anticipated so I decided to open it - couldn't believe I got the Spectral Tiger from the box.

I pruchased my digital code back in MoP for 600 bucks, learned to epic one and reselled the rare one for 500k.

Considering it goes for 4000 dollars now, I think it wasn't that bad of a deal.

I would also like to add that I purchased this using TIP I got from my job in hotel back in 2013... Where I live TIP isn't mandatory and it's considered a free bonus you can give as a customer if you are satisfied with the provided service.

Would never have used my salary to buy it.

To anyone who is considering buying it using IRL money: Think it through. The mount is still beautiful and rare, but there are so many other mounts that look better and can fly.

Be aware of scams going around supposedly selling dupes for relatively cheap amount of gold or pay pal payment.
They want to add you on discord and convince you mount is bop now and then they want to sell code for gold or money.
Dont fall for it, save your gold and money and report these guys.

I just purchased mine on eBay and redeem the code I must say after many years of dreaming this mount I finally saved up enough money to purchase it the mount looks so amazing and I must say of you manage to get another spectral tiger mount card sell it in the future last year price was 4k this year is 8-12k$.

So price will definitely reach rockets in the future.

To hype up the release of Dragonflight, Blizzard is releasing a twitch drop of the Feldrake mount (TCG Mount) on November 2022.

Expect TCG-item prices to drop but know that in 2/4/6 years time the items might be given away.

The Spectral Tiger loot card is the most expensive mount card today due to how rare it is with very few codes left that have not yet been redeemed. That currently makes it second place as the most expensive redemption code for WoW, behind 藍色魚人蛋 which is the most expensive and rare.
