I am so pumped to lightning the crap out of everything.
Pretty disapointing. Much like the other hero trees it's full of boring passive $%^&. Literally no changes for enhance except replacing your LB occasionally with a dif spell. The only remotely interesting thing is rolling thunder, does that imply a permanent wolf or? Shame they refuse to do anything that interacts or changes ascendance. Same ancient model since cataclysm and now cata classic is about to launch. What a joke.
Does this mean we are not going to play the Eye of the storm talent as Elemental (elemental blast/earth shock cost reduced)?if we shall cast less elemental blasts that costs more maelstorm, we will proc less Surge of Power talent too. But the new Unlimited power talent (which we had in previous patch and everybody hated) requires you to cast more spenders... so what should we do?All of these are pretty much required talents to get capstones. For now the overall design for Ele, as always has been, looks a lot couterintuitive. Lot of talents that are pretty much useless, fake-good and might be dps loss. And the Mastery stats shall be totally useless (so Mountain will fall capstone talent is useless).I hope that playing Eye of the storm doesn't diminish the maelstorm counted for the new Tempest talent.I hope the procs of Rolling Thunder and Awakening Storm will not overlap with Stormkeeper (as it did in season 2) and the normal Tempest talent. All those problems could be resolved by adding more stacks rather than overwrite the buffs.
Sooooo Shamans are not using 2 Handed weapons like in the hero talent preview? Major bummer.
what a big bummer! I expected more from this talent tree after farseer, but what do you do, blizzard really hates shamans. Just look at the mage hero talents and notice the difference. unlimited power again? What came out to the shaman after weeks is bull#$%^.
Shocking Grasp reminded me of DoolB's analysis of the Hunters Sentinel Tree and the Sideline talent: the problem of an uncontrollable slow effect. His example applies perfectly here: imagine in a pull, the tank trying to gather the mobs, but some of them are left behind because he received a critical from our ability, but others not?A skill like this would be better if it were sharing a node.
Unlimited power talent better work like Iron fur and not like Festermight. if they add that gameplay to shamans while actively pulling it out of unholy DK for being horrible to play around they are cooked.
Can't wait for Stormbringer to be less DPS than the lava burst spam Farseer tree!
And even looking at the image they chose to represent the tree, they could have come up with so many other ideas, like:Your abilities affect the surrounding weather, giving you a chance of being hit by a hypercharged lightning that empowers your abilities:
I like this; it seems very straightforward; one line for single-target, one for AoE and one for a more defensive PvP-oriented setup. Now make Shaman playable by more races.
Not a total disaster, but does very little for Elemental that we were after. The win is Tempest; this looks like a great augmentation, with some good cleave, burst and if it has a good animation I think we'll all be pleased. The triple chain lightning node is fantastic fun too - we all love CL. Unfortunately, it basically ends there.Having tempest proc but not giving us control over it because it replaces our filler will feel awful; instead of cleaving on demand, we do it randomly. We have another duplication of stormbringer with an awful 50 sec timer, more rng, more secondary stat bloat, more "basically mastery reskinned", and more homogenisation of enhance and elemental, with one of elemental's choice capstones given to enhancement. Our lack of valuable ascendence, no empowered elemental, no unique spells, no controllable cleave, extremely minor survivability buff which can't be reliably kept up, and a hero tree that forces further separation of the lava/lightning divide leaves us with an overall extremely disappointing hero tree.Ultimately, this tree can be summed up as:- More mastery procs- RNG filler buff- RNG survivability buff- secondary stat bloat- Forces lightning-only buildElemental shaman are now faced with:- Widely criticised lava vs lightning choice (stormkeeper vs farseer)- Unimaginative reskins of our mastery (duplication of spells through mastery procs, farseer's ancestors, stormkeeper procs etc.)- Zero attempt to make our elemental worthwhile- Zero attempt to address the significant amount of uncontrollable rng that dictates the spec; DRE, mastery procs, ancestor procs, crit procs, extra mastery procs, tempest procs- Zero attempt to address our really underwhelming spenders- Zero attempt to improve our survivability reliably- Zero attempt to improve our on-demand AoE capabilities.- Zero attempt to give us a valuable raid buff.A rework better follow soon to address these concerns, or the already highly underrepresented Ele Shaman is dead on arrival for TWW.
Ele sham main here, and I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed by this... not going to lie. There's some potential here but nothing that makes anything about these talents feel like "hero" talents. Recycling a tier set bonus or Torghast powers into a talent has been a theme previously, but its honestly lazy creation. If this was all they had planned, idk what took so long to release this tree other than not wanting to upset players early.I agree that the current LvB meatball spam is pretty brain dead and I was hoping to maybe get something else that truly feels like you control all of the elements. Don't get me wrong, we currently have 3 elements we fight with, but nothing here is new. I get it, the tree is called stormbringer, but I'm sure enhance shaman wanted something brings elemental playstyle, just as ele wants some enhance goodies.Hopefully Blizz reads this and gets some constructive feedback, but here's some ideas if you want to use them:- Make the rolling thunder tree a selectable option. Meaning give enhance the option to get stormkeeper and allow elemental the opportunity to spawn a nature feral spirit.- Give us a talent that could change our AOE element. Elemental can have earthquake turn into avalanche with chance to freeze (not root) targets temporarily. Enhancement could have crash lightning turn into volcanic magma where it has a similar hit effect but also puts a light DOT on it. I realize a big DOT could make this broken.- Give us a defensive slot. Literally anything other than the used up CL/CH option that's existed for years. Hell, make Ancestral Guidance have 2 charges and slightly empowered healing from its currently useless state.- A raid buff. PLEEEEEASE make us be useful other than WF totem (ele has nothing). Here's been my idea I've pitched around a few times. "Ancestral Movement Totem: Drop a totem at the target location that persists for 10 seconds. Any party or raid member who walks within 10 yards of this totem may cast while moving for 5 seconds. 2 minute Cooldown." And yes it could be reapplied similar to wind rush totem...Or at least bring back he elemental aura, or allow us to have skyfury totem in PVE. Please Blizz...pleeeeeease just give shaman some love without an absolute nerf hammer for once.
Well as enh - woo, cause I like meaty stormstrike spam.
