You're just along for the ride on this one. You'll mount a dragon and fly around her prison (42,31). The other dragons will take out the guards and you'll land on the platform. Once the prison is open, she'll teleport you to the top of the mage tower in Amber Ledge where you can complete the quest.

Be careful when you get ready to do this quest. Make sure you dismount before accepting it. If you don't the mages will fly off without you and you may have to wait 5-15 minutes before Warmage Anzim will speak to you again.

If you do happen to miss the flight, abandoning the quest and relogging helps make it show up again.

Turned in the prequisite for this quest,Taking Wing and all it said i "Dont meet the requiriments for this quest". Warmage Anzim never gave me any quest and nothing happened after i turned in the quest. Im level 70 and wasnt on my mount when i turned it in.

You also must see the floating drakes around him before you take the quest, or you will get a message that you don't meet the requirements for the quest.

It seems you have to be level 71 to get this quest did the pre req at 70 and got the error others mentioned above when it tried to start the followup, after I dinged 71 it was available

I had no problems at level 70 getting the quest of prequest. I was on my mount when I turned in.

Talk to Warmage Anzim, and it will automatically put you on a flight. You then fly on the dragon to a platform in the sky. You talk to Archmage Evanor and she will teleport herself and you to the Mage Tower at Amber Ledge. Talk to her and turn it in.

I have a feeling like this quest is just overall bugged cause I've logged out unmounted got out of shadow form closed game mounted and unmounted waited a few minutes and still can't do the quest even after doing everything else

I asked a DK who was about to accept the quest to share it with me. He invited me to group and I immediately saw the exclamation mark and was able to accept the quest.
But later on it was him who couldn't accept the quest. After re-grouping with me he was able to accept and complete the quest fine.

This was my fix after the - TAKING FLIGHT - quest to be able to get - RESCUING EVANOR-

I made sure I was unmounted. I logged in the tower.
I deleted my WTF folder. Moved all addons to a temp folder.
Restarted wow. ran over unmounted. and I was able to get the quest. and complete - DRAGONSPEAK - and - TRAVERSING THE RIFT.-

ALL 4 quests done. and Now Friendly with Kirin Tor.

Yes, it's bugged. You need to dismount before turning in the prequel, Taking Wing.

If, like everyone else, you turn it in while mounted, you get the 'You don't meet the requirements for this quest" message, and the drakes fly away.

What I did:

Dismount.
Wait for the four drakes to fly back.
Logout.
Login.

He then had the "!" for me.

Once she teleports you back to the tower, Lady Evanor is available for quest turn in at the top level. Also, don't worry about using your key as the prison opens automatically.

hum i just started the quest while unmounted and but i was moving when i started it so they flew away did another quest in the meanwhile and figured id restart it when they come back but when i returned i could simply go turn in the quest without even having to fly along :P

They've fixed this quest so that you automatically dismount when you accept the quest. However, if you move while accepting it, it'll display an error message ("You are moving.") and the drakes will fly off without you. And if you abandon the quest, you won't see it at first, but just relog and the quest should be available again.

I do not think it has been fixed. I accept on mount and dragons flew off without me. I also tried logging in/out and no luck. A quick abandon and restart of the quest resolved the issue.

You need to be unmounted from a flying mount. Or nothing will happen. I need to unmounted and abandoned the quest re-take it to continue.

Hilariously enough, I accepted while mounted (not sure if that has anything to do with it), the Warmage said "hey, mages, let's go fly", and then they flew on without me. I kind of just stood there confusedly before shrugging and following the Questhelper arrow to the tower, where Lady Evanor stood. I didn't do anything but walk to the tower and turn in my quest.

I feel kind of gypped.

Don't initiate this quest mounted, it bugged for me -the dragons took flight and left me at the start NPC. Abandoning the quest, dismounting and and restarting fixed it.

Can someone tell me how I can get revived because I'm dead during this quest at the Evanor prison and I can reach my corpse to get revived :S

I just had the most hilarious thing happen. I'm not even on this quest but I was flying near the platform where she gets rescued as another player was doing it, so I stopped to watch....and got ported to the top of the tower along with the quester! ROFL! The other player got a chuckle out of it as well :D

I took that quest while I was mounted. I had that quest completed but still there was no NPC to return that quest, so I fly there by myself. I met the Lady there and she teleported both of us to the tower and then I could return quest. So it is possible to finish that quest without abandoning it.

Anzim on Amber Ledge wants you to fly with his war mages to free Lady Evanor at Beryl Point. You are then to report to her in the mage tower on Amber Ledge.

Description
