You get a cage with a plaguehound in it, so run out into the fields towards the west of the landing (near the elevator) and bring out the pup. You can do one of two things to get agro on the crows that fly overhead, you can 1. dot 'em or pull them yourself or 2. have your dog do it , its the only ability he has that isn't an attack. The meat is 100% drop if your dog is out and you can click on the meat in your inventory to feed it to your dog.

I tried to do this quest, killed over 30 birds with the dog out, resummoned another one and tried again and it wouldn't drop. I wasn't in a raid. Must just be buggy, going to abandon and retake it when I can be bothered to log back in.

To feed the hound you right click on meat, you can actually farm the 5 crow meat needed, then summon the hound and feed him the 5 meat pieces.

I didn't even bother with the dog until I was ready to turn the quest in.

I just had my priest "dot" a bird, it came down, and I got the meat. Repeat 4 times. Then I summon ed the dog and right-clicked on the meat in my bags 5 times.

End of quest.

For the hunters... if you have summoned the plaguehound and have had enough of it, you can right-click its portrait to "Dismiss" it. You can then call your pet as normal.

As long as You wont complete the quest, You can use plaguehound as a pet/tank. If an mob attacks on You, plaguehound will agro it within a blink.
As a priest, I was able to cast My whole rotation (VT+SW:P+MB), before hound lost agro.

When you summon the plaguehound, your current minion or pet disappears and you'll have to Call Pet or resummon your minion afterward. My not so well geared 68 warlock only got a couple of DoTs on the crows before pulling aggro off. The meat you need drops from the crows as long as you have the quest, whether the hound is out or not, so if you already have some sort of pet, you might not even want to bother with the hound until you have all your meat.

Hunters (and warlocks I suppose), should summon the pet while mounted, while doing so, you'll keep your "real" pet, and can use it to fight with the crows.

I have the dog out, have the quest, and are killing the right crows, because it has the right name and it says when I put my cursor over them "Let Them Eat Crow: Crow Meat." No meat has dropped, I've killed about 15.

If you get the brilliant idea to save him for company (and a little bit of dps) it wont work outside Vengance Landing

An interesting little note: as a warlock, you can use Health Funnel to heal the plaguehound! Unless you use the "summon while mounted" strategy, that is.

Guaranteed drop rate for crow meat, I killed 5 crows and got them.

Hey there! Just wanted to add that I had some issues with this quest. I killed like 50 crows, but didn't get a single drop nor did the plague hound eat the crows when they died. Talked to someone else who were doing the quest, and they told me that the crow meat seemed to have a 100% drop chance. So, I abandoned the quest, and took it again, and what do you know? The Crow meat started dropped from each crow I killed! So, if you have the same problem, abandon and retake!

Pontius, the kennel keeper at Vengeance Landing, wants you to use the Plaguehound Cage to summon a Hungry Plaguehound and feed it Crow Meat from Fjord Crows west of Vengeance Landing.

Description

The high executor wants me to use my dogs to sniff out enemy scouts, but I can tell you right now these plaguehounds aren't going anywhere until they're properly fed.

If our military doesn't understand that these beasts are picky enough to not eat the rubbish they've given me, then they can't expect them to be of any use in the field.

You seem to have some time on your hands, why don't you take one of these dogs out hunting for crows out west? Their meat isn't very tasty to us, but my boys love it!
