Brief Explanation of the SolutionOver the entrance to the room of the 9th room there are 5 symbols on top, all of which allude to the rhymes that Ratts made, underneath there are 3 symbols which are the instructions to decrypting the original JYPFFQVY. The first symbol is an hourglass and There’s an hourglass with a cake inside the room, referring to the anniversary date, so we take JYPFFQVY and use the anniversary date, which is 11/23/2024 To move every letter to the left of the abecedary by the corresponding number of the date.
For example: J has to be moved one space to the left of the abecedary, which gives I, then you move Y one space to the left, then P 2 spaces to the left and so on.

Then you get IXNCDQTU.

For the next step we have to decipher IXNCDQTU using a vigenere cypher because by following the portal in the room of the 9th orb we eventually found secret letters underneath a boat in the eye of azshara dungeon that spelled „VIG“.

We went to a website that decrypts vigenere cyphers and then we have to choose 3 things: What we want to decrypt, what is the key and what is the abecedary we want to use.
There is a clue inside one of the rooms in the catacombs that Ratts has been reading called: „The hidden zeroth letter of the alphabet“ which is a clue that led to the choice of the abecedary: instead of being the normal abcdef… we added a 0 at the beginning so that its 0abcdef…

Now we have to choose what to decrypt, so we choose IXNCDQTU.

Now we have to choose a key. There is a missing rhyme in The final chapter of Ratts journal, we found out that the Rhyme was „for the love of play“ because its 16 letters exactly in every language we checked. Since we have 16 letters for the key and we only need 8, we split the key in 2. Forthelo and veofplay.

So we apply the vigenere decryption to IXNCDQTU using the abecedary with the 0 at the beginning and forthelo as the key, so we get: CIWJWLHF
Then we apply the second key „veofplay“ to „CIWJWLHF“ and so we get „HDHDGOGH“

Then we convert „HDHDGOGH“ into numbers in order to be able to input it into the machine, by simply writing what position of the abecedary each letter occupies.
