Tigre Blanco: Dps Meele
Niuzao: Tanques
Grulla Roja: Healers
Aca

Escudos y penitencias a Wrathion.

Y, a veces, NO hacer nada.
Wrathion dice: ¡Gran Grulla Roja!
Me honra tu visita.
Wrathion dice: Gran Grulla. No has visto las cosas que yo he visto.
Chi-Ji dice: Me subestimas.
Wrathion dice: ¡Poderoso Buey Negro!
Niuzao dice: ¡Precisamente!
Wrathion dice: Claro. Lo sabía.
Niuzao dice: Por supuesto. Quizá podamos poner a prueba tu entendimiento.
Wrathion dice: ¡Gran Tigre Blanco!

As a heads up, because this conufused me:
For most of the celestials you just run up to where they're hanging out and get credit for talking to them; you don't even have to sit through the conversation.
For Yu'lon (Jade Serpent,) however, you have to talk to Wration out by the bridge heading in to the temple grounds, and then you'll be cutscene-ported to her room. If you go directly there you'll just see him hanging out with her doing nothing and the objective won't trigger.
Comentario de

For Chi-ji's challenge (healer), you'll be fighting humanoid Deathwing with Wrathion. You'll need to keep both him and yourself alive during the fight. There is some manner of buff in play that causes healing done to increase the damage of your next attack; being a Mistweaver I didn't pay much attention to it. I'd imagine the effect exists so the challenge isn't too much harder for specs with less synergy between their damage and healing abilities, ie everyone but MW/Disc.
Note that Wrathion is not a member of your party, so the only smart heals that will hit him are ones that aren't restricted to your party. Pay attention to your tooltips- "friendly target within x yards" means it'll hit him, "party or raid member within x yards" means it won't.
Abilities of note are:
A fixate ability that he'll use on Wrathion, so you can't make things easier by tanking Deathwing yourself the whole time. While DW hits you like a wet noodle, he does bonus damage to Wrathion.
Deathwing doesn't hit all that hard, but his attacks will give you a stacking DoT.
He'll occasionally spawn a pack of slimes that need to be AE'd.
A rain of fire. Shadows will appear where they'll hit a few seconds beforehand, so this is pretty easy to avoid.
A wide frontal cone AE. This means that even if you're not punching him in the face you may want to stay close to him so you can move out of it more easily.
I only saw this once, and it's what caused me to fail the first time- a big red pool that spawned on top of him and does a @#$%load of damage. It
might
be something that happens when the slimes die sometimes? I'm not sure.
Midway through the fight, he'll disappear, Wrathion will stand in the middle, and earth elementals at four sides will start firing spines at him. You're supposed to intercept the spines so they don't hit him, but the ones I missed seemed to not hit him so hard that letting them all land and brute-force healing through it was outside the realm of possibility.
As a ilvl530-ish Mistweaver the fight was pretty trivial outside of the aforementioned slime pool fail. Put your statue down in the middle, fistweave Deathwing, SCK->BoK the slimes, don't stand in bad (aside from the spines,) finish tour of Pandaria, collect epic.
Here's a video of me doing it:

The Jade Temple challenge makes use of your kit as a ranged DPS to do damage from afar, control mobs and avoid damage effects. You will be fighting a blindfolded Wrathion, who does not melee but instead uses a variety of AOE attacks and spells to try and damage you. Further adding to this are a number of blood elementals he will spawn that respawn a minute after they are killed, and his later ability to split into many 1k HP copies that will damage you severely if not destroyed in time.
My video shows what to expect in the encounter. How to beat it is up to you and your class specialties. I would recommend using a kit that allows for damage while moving and the ability to put out wide-range, low damage AOE.

For the melee challenge (White Tiger), you fight a blindfolded Wrathion:
Wrathion has ~31M health.
You do bonus damage for attacking him from behind.
Self healing abilities really help during this fight.
He jumps to your position and begin to cast a 180 degree frontal arc that hits for over 200k. He does this all throughout the fight. He does not melee attack.
He will summon one set of red oozes shortly into this first phase which you must kite or dispose of from range or very quickly in melee. They hit very hard and move fairly fast. As a rogue I took shuriken toss and dispatched them while running away.
He will also summon pools under your feet at regular intervals.
After a little bit, he will go into a mirror image phase in which he stops using all his abilities and summons a good number of copies of himself (10+). You must destroy as many images of him as possible, as once they finish casting each image will hit you for 20k. He cast this three times in a row when I did my trial. He might simply do this until you hit the correct image.
After the mirror images, he returns back to his normal abilties.
It took me three attempts to win the challenge: one to figure out how to deal with the oozes, the second to figure out I need to kill the images fast, and defeated him on the third. I hope this guide helps!

Tank Challenge
You defend Wrathion from an image of Human Deathwing. Wrathion takes 300% damage from all of Deathwing's attacks.
10.5 million HP, he hit me for about 30k per swing. The damage will definitely ramp up over time, so use your cooldowns.
He puts a stacking debuff on you that does about 22,000 every few seconds per stack.
Casts an ability called Blood of the Deathsworn that can be interrupted. If you do not, it makes a large puddle on the ground that damages you and Wrathion.
Occasionally fixates on Wrathion, you taunt him off and it stops.
Also spawns slimes with around 100k HP.
I don't know if it's timed, but at 30% he split into four images in a cross formation around Wrathion and fired bolts at him. You have to intercept them with your character to protect him from taking damage.

Swing by the August Celestial Quartermaster in your Shrine to pick up
Bendición celestial
before heading out for your challenge. It automatically gives you a passive buff related to the challenge you're doing. Ex: The Ox challenge it passively increases your stamina by 10% and stacks with other stamina buffs such as the 10% Commanding Shout or Dark Intent.
Passive Buffs for each Challenge:
Challenge of the Jade Serpent:
(Ranged DPS) - Intellect increased by 10%.
Challenge of the Red Crane:
(Healer) - Passive 1k heal per second.
Challenge of the Black Ox:
(Tank) - Stamina increased by 10%.
Challenge of the White Tiger:
(Melee DPS) - Strength / Agility increased by 10%
Edit: Thought I should add, all you need to do is keep this item in your bags or bank* to get the buff when you're near their temples. Useful for August Celestial Dailies too, but completely safe to vendor when you're done.
Edit: Unfortunately for Hunters, it is safe to ignore this item as your challenge coincides with ranged casters' challenge; which will only grant you +INT

From a Resto Druid's perspective:
Disclaimer - I am a normal mode raider and I completed this challenge with ilvl 517. My observations/hints after doing this 30+ times until finally completing it:
- My strat involved keeping Deathwing off of me. The MW Monk that posted here is a Heroic raider and his class mechanics are a LOT different. He tanked Deathwing the whole time apart from when Deathwing is fixated on Wrathion. When I succeeded, Deathwing did not hit me once (and he hits HARD).
- When I got the mechanics down and found time to HoT myself, this turned out to be a BAD idea. As soon as I started to overheal myself, I got aggro. Similarly, when I started to do more damage than just a DoT every 10 seconds or so, I got aggro.
- The fight is a timed, two-phase encounter with the 2 phases cycling until you kill Deathwing (he has 14.x million health). I went through 3 full cycles and was in the first phase of the 4th when Deathwing dropped (Deathwing is not in the fight in phase 2). In Phase 1 you heal Wrathion and damage Deathwing. In Phase 2 you take damage for Wrathion by stepping in front of missiles being thrown by (4) elementals. During this time you can recoup some mana.
- Keep everything rolling on Wrathion: Lifebloom, Wildgrowth, Rejuv, Ironbark, Swiftmend, and you'll be casting a lot of Regrowths. Deathwing hits him like a truck.
- I was specced into Nature's Vigil, but when I used it....yeah, I got aggro. I was also specced into Force of Nature and I didn't end up using that either. Not enough heal. I would recommend Incarnation and Heart of the Wild for this challenge.
- Smackthekids recommendation to get a Celestial Offering sounds really good. I missed out on this trick.
- You can do any of the challenges. It doesn't have to match the cloak you want to get. When you finally get the chance to choose your cloak, all of them are available to pick from. I do not think you can buy a second one, however, to use for a different spec (at the time of this post). I chose the spirit one and it will work great for my off-spec Moonkin (Spirit/Haste).
- There is a damage buff you get for the whole fight. You do not have to do the 14mil damage to Deathwing with just Moonfire. You do, however, have to use Moonfire at a frequency of ~10 seconds to keep the buff "working": It looked like every time I used Moonfire the buff would fire about (3) missiles at Deathwing (one every couple of seconds) and then stop until I hit him with Moonfire again.
- I did not AoE the adds on this fight. It takes too long IMO. I single-targeted and hit them with one Moonfire. 1 or 2 ticks and they were dead.
- Don't give up. Once you learn the dance you'll get him.
- I stayed pretty far away from Wrathion and Deathwing during Phase 1 to avoid Deathwing's AoE spells. You come into the center for Phase 2, and just before Phase 2 ends, you want to run out and let Wrathion take aggro again. As soon as Phase one starts, I threw an Ironbark on Wrathion and got the HoTs going again ASAP.
- Good Luck!

It's kinda impossible doing this as a Ret Pally 517. I was able to interrupt his cast but idk why the bubbles keep spawning forever and they hit HARD. Anyone have a strategy or a video?
EDIT: If you have a tank spec, do it as a tank, easy by far!

The ranged dps one can be quite challenging for classes which can't do much damage on the move as well as those with limited AoE.
I noticed that you can cheese the encounter, by letting the bloods spawn around the area where you start and then quickly moving to the end of the balcony behind Yu'lon. The bloods will not follow you. When he does his multi-clone cast, you can just wait it out on the balcony. The damage won't reach you and after a few casts, he will come back to his normal attacks on you.

For all the Elemental Shaman out there, this is how I did it. I'm a 526 ilvl troll shaman.
I used Earthgrab Totem, Capaciator Totem and Astral Shift. I brought Potions of the Jade Serpent, Healing Potions, Alchemist Flask and Pearl Milk Tea.
I began the fight standing behind Wrathion for the DPS bonus. I popped Earth Elemental Totem, Berserker, Stormlash Totem and the Potion before aggroing him so I could still use a Healing Potion later on. DPSed him as much as I could until the adds spawned. Killed them with Bloodlust and Ascendance on. When you're fast enough, they'll respawn just before the images of Wrathion appear. Next time I combined Astral Shift and Shamanic Rage so I could just stand there and DPS the tears...
After that, the images reappeard a few times. Try to heal yourself with Healing Tide/Healing Stream between the waves of images in case you're very unlucky and take to long to find Wrathion among them.
Rinse and repeat, hand in quest, try not to die of adrenaline overdose and have a nice day.
Oh and in case you've got multiple trinkets lying around, I used Wushoolay's Final Choice and Cha-ye's Essence of Brilliance (normally I use the Shadow Pan Assault Trinket for Haste). Helped me a lot because I moved around too much for the extra Haste to have any effect.
I hope this helps you. Took me only 4 hours to figure out. xD

As a Protadin, here is how I did it:
- Used DPS trinkets for more DPS, self-healing, and off-healing
- Talents: Pursuit of Justice, Fist of Justice, Sacred Shield, Hand of Purity, Divine Purpose, Execution Sentence
- Major Glyphs: Focused Shield, Battle Healer, Word of Glory
I focused on off-healing Wrathion, using Execution Sentence, WoG, and Hand of Purity on him each time they were up to keep him healed. Interrupt Blood of the Deathsworn whenever it is cast. Use your stun if you feel like you're getting behind and spam-cast Flash of Light on either yourself or Wrathion during those six seconds. It's not really a DPS race as far as I could tell (why would it be?), so just focus on keeping yourself and wimpy Wrathion alive. When Wrathion is being focused by the split beams, I switched my Sacred Shield over to him because I was having trouble getting to all the beams. Good luck!

As a rogue I found the key to the encounter was bursting down the adds and using the remaining time to focus on survival.
I found combat the preferred specialisation for this encounter, due to extra cleave and burst damage through blade flurry and killing spree.
The fight goes something like the following:
-
Phase 1
: Wrathion switches between using a
cone aoe
, a
rain of fire
and an interuptable
pool aoe
at your current location. All of these are easily avoided, so use this time to ensure you have recuperate up, and use leeching poison shiv to heal yourself up as needed.
-
Phase 2
: Wrathion summons a group of
blood adds
, at this point use blade flurry + killing spree / shadow blades / adrenaline rush to kill the adds as quickly as possible. Use evasion or combat readiness for survival if needed. Make sure you save at least one cooldown for the next set of adds.
Some players use shuriken toss to kill the adds from range, but I found it far more effective to nuke them down in melee, because they gain a stacking
movement buff
over time.
Once the adds are dead, return to phase 1. The adds will respawn after ~30 seconds or so, which will return you to phase 2.
-
Phase 3
: Wrathion will run to the center, and summon mirror images of himself. You need to kill as many of these as possible, before they finish casting. They will all die when you kill the "real" Wrathion.
Ignore any adds which are up at this point, and use fan of knives to kill as many of the mirror images as possible (they die in one hit). Use cloak of shadows to block the damage if you don't hit the real Wrathion in time.
He will repeat the mirror image phase three times, in between the casts try to burn down any remaining adds as much as possible.
After phase 3, the fight returns to phase 1 (assuming no adds are still up). Again, use the time without adds to get your health as high as possible, using recuperate and leeching poison shiv.

I did a few tries to see all the mechanics before downing this (sorry for killing you a few times Wrathion!) - I probably could have dps'ed a bit more as a 530 dpri (I ended up doing about half of Suzu's dps), but I decided to be a bit cautious and took me till the 4th DW phase on the kill.
If you use click-grid-healing addons (like healbot/vuhdo), you can choose to set focus on Wrathion before the fight starts, which will allow you to heal him with your focus target area of your click-grid.
Deathwing phase:
Vision of Deathwing
's melee was about 40-50k/swing, so
Molten Fury
(15k/2s dot, stacks) at high stacks is definitely worse (I tried to see just how long I could heal myself through it for giggles - I died at 7 stacks). Keep dispelling yourself if you choose to tank outside of fixates.
Frontal 180 cleave and meteor rain (similar to the dps version of
cleave
and
rain of fire
) are part of Deathwing's rotation and have no real cast time - dodge them when you see their spell effects. Meteors (
Molten Brimstones
) will sometimes land on Wrathion for ~135k damage each - don't be afraid to eat a few meteors to heal him as it hits you for only ~35k each.
The adds, Neltharion's Tears, are similar to its
dps counterparts
. They respawn like bloods on Spine fight each time Chi-Ji yells "The elements are undying! Make use of your time before they rise again!". Time between respawns seemed to be around 55s.
The fixate (
Eyes of the Destroyer
) is channeled, so you can tell how long before Deathwing is back on you if you are tanking. Deathwing's melee against his son is roughly 80-100k/swing.
The pool of gunk (
Blood of the Deathborn
) is centered on where you were standing when Deathwing finishes casting, and won't start damaging until about 2s after it drops. Know when to run if you want to put it down in a particular location.
I'm starting to think he casts this based on how long you've been in DW phase, because while I usually had one cast, sometimes I had two when I spent too much time healing Wrathion instead of dps'ing Deathwing.
Elemental phase:
Stay stacked on Wrathion, and strafe ~3y to intercept the bolts. This way you can intercept every bolt.

I cannot for the life of me complete this quest as either a healer or a ranged DPS. I have 520 level gearscore, but they just keep kicking my ass. Ad a resto druid, I have little to no attacks, so the fith lasts forever since the boss never takes any damage from Wrathion, and as a Moonkin, I have little to no AOE for the adds that spawn and blow up. This is infuriatingly hard and I have no idea how to complete this solo. Unless you can do it in a group, I think I'm screwed.

Xuen says: I hope now you understand the limits of strength without vision. It is one thing to change the world, but quite another to do what is right.
Xuen says: Young prince, I hope you take this lesson to heart.
Wrathion says: I am pleased that our hero is still alive. Thank you for your blessing, mighty tiger.

I did this yesterday (Jade Serpent's Challenge) on my 519 arcane mage and I'm hoping this'll be of some help to some ppl who feel as though they've been banging their heads against a wall...
First things first, unless you get lucky, you're going to have to be patient; as if the fight's not tricky enough, the collision detection on his arc ability and the aggro that mirror image is supposed to hold are both things you can't rely on, they're both a bit iffy.
Secondly, if you've got some guildies on, do get them to meet you at Shrine of Two Moons first and buff you with whatever ya can get; King's, Might, Fortitude and Shammy's mastery buffs are all a good idea. If you find yourself down to about 140k health during the fight, unless Wrathion's nearly dead, you're not coming back from that, so you can just leg it out the entrance, re-set the fight and try it again without losing your buffs. I only figured this out after about 6 wipes, but still lost my buffs after a coupla attempts by cutting it too fine before blinking out. The buffs will make it easier though.
As for how to kill him, the key to that is remembering that you do more damage to him from behind. So as soon as he's zipped over to your location, don't panic and blink, just run thru him 5 yards so you're behind him and rattle off a couple of arc blasts, you won't have much time to hit him with much more than that before you have to move again. Also, don't waste time trying to put your rune of power down, you simply haven't got time to do it. There's no secret jiggery-pokery to the blood adds. Kite them round the outskirts of the room, casting arc explosion as you go. Save your cd's for this bit and don't use them all at once. I used my TW on the first wave to burn them down asap and give me some spare time to get a good start on Wrathion. Then, next wave used arcane power, whilst using my Static-Caster's Medallion every time they turned up. IF you get the opportunity to kite them in a small circle around Wrathion, do so, as your arcane explosion will do some invaluable damage to him also. Every little helps. The bit where lots of little replica Wrathions are in the middle is simple enough. Just get in the middle of them and 2 arc explosions should do it. You do not want a load of them casting inferno. That hurts, lol.
In short:
1: when he comes to you, run thru him a few yards and attack from behind.
2: kite bloods, use arc explosion, do this near him if you can.
3: save your blink for when you need to get out the fire circle he does, you shouldn't need it for his arc, unless bloods are up.
4 use mirror image whenever it's available if the bloods are up.
5: if in doubt, run out thru the entrance and reset the instance. It's better than dying as you'll keep your buffs.
I really hope this helps, as I know how frustrated I was getting with it. Anyway, best of luck and keep perservering, the cloak does lovely things to your dps :)
Cheers, Coffinboffin (The Hex Pistols - Dentarg EU)

Xuen's challenge is proving aggravating, and not even for what it is... Wrathion's cone and Deathborn circle are still hitting me, even though I am a good 10 yards outside his cone arc or out of the bloody circle before it's even fully up (horrible hit detection for the lose)...... Plus, no matter what I do to stay behind him, it's impossible, cause he's turning around too much for me to still be considered "behind him"...
/Sigh.

XUEN CHALLENGE (Melee DPS as a rogue)
Let me start by saying I spent quite a bit of time on it, roughly two hours I'd dare say. This was significantly harder then the 'boss' encounters in the Rogue legendary dagger questchain. Atleast for me, others may have different experiences.
I did this as an Assassination Rogue with 532 item level. I reforged for full mastery (instead of haste which is the current way to go at my gear level (RPPM trinkets etc)).
The reason I did this is because I also specced in Shuriken toss to deal with the blobs. And more Mastery means Harder Deadly Poison ticks so they die quicker.
**************************************************************
I started with putting Vendetta up before the fight (you won't get full duration anyway so unglyph it for more burst) and I also pre-potted. Stealth > garrote (for having Venomous wounds up straight away). I immediatly pop shadow blades as soon as SND is up and envenom, put rupture up and just nuke him as much as I can-. I got him to roughly 55 % I'd say when the blobs spawned (sometimes they spawn quicker) then I FoK'ed twice and I ran off using the BURST OF SPEED talent (very usefull here) and then I finished them off one by one with shuriken toss (they should all have taken some nice dmg from your DP ticks already). These should die quickly enough.
As soon as they're dead go back on Wrathion and maximize your dps. Your aim should be to get him as low as possible before he ressurects the blobs. Now when the second wave of blobs spawn he should be well under 35 %.
Whatever you do, stay on him and stay behind him for the 250 % dmg buff. You can use Evasion, smokebomb, cloak of shadow) all your defensive CD's at this point even if he's in a magma pool, stay on him (use feint).
Roughly 25 seconds after the second pair of blobs spawn he should be running to the middle for his mirror images, you should try and kill him before the mirror images (it can be tricky with energy pooling to kill all the mirrors while the blobs are on you aswell, it's annoying as hell).
I literally killed him just as he arrived to the middle of the room. Again Blurreed Speed was super handy here, as soon as started running to the middle I popped blurred speed and dispatched him off to cookieville. It was tight, had he gotten his cast off in the middle I probably wouldn't have made it because I ignored the second wave of blob adds (and as you know, the longer they're up the quicker they become and the harder they hit).
I hope this is usefull to some of you rogues out there :) I wish you all the best of luck!
(this should work for any melee dps I imagine, just nuke him as much as you can, only kill the first wave of blobs then focus him non-stop).
I guess for some heavy AOE classes dispatching the first wave of blobs should be child's play. The quicker you kill them the more time you've got on Wrathion as they spawn based on a timer as far as I could tell.

Burst of Speed
Shuriken Toss
Get Healing Pots, Flask and Celestial Offering.
Open with Garrote, SnD, Vendetta, Shadow Blades. Evasion when blobs spawns, stay on Wrathion as long as you can, FoK and Crimson Tempest the adds.
Burst of speed run away from blobs, Shuriken Toss to kill off remaining blobs.
Recuperate, get back on Wrathion, you should have plenty of time on him before next phase.
Images phase
When he runs to middle of room, follow him, conserve energy while auto-attacking.
Preparation to reset evasion CD. Run towards the solid image and use FoK. Cloak of Shadows/Smoke Bomb if required.
Evasion if adds are getting near you. After 3 waves of images, the cycle repeats.
At this point he should be <35% HP. Burn him down with Dispatch and DPS CDs, stay on him as much as you can afford to, if the adds are hurting you, run away and use Shuriken Toss, Deadly Throw on him while kiting them. Pop a Healing pot and you got him.
Burst of speed is the key to this fight.

Did as a surv hunter (512 level), I thought it is the hardest solo so far, I found it much harder than the forge scenario. Anyway a few tips!
1. Try and get behind him though it is not that easy and most of the time you won't get a chance, the start of the encounter is the best chance for this. This is because he takes more damage but don't stand in stuff. There is nothing in this fight that it's good to stand in!
2. Don't even think of doing this fight without
Tromba
. You will need it when he copies himself multiple times. I went for
as well as the fight is aoe intensive and it helped loads.
3.Do not use
just for the sake of it. Save it till he has copied himself because he then copies himself again and you want
Tromba
of cool down or else you could have a problem! I found the copies to be the biggest problem because if you don't kill them quickly they one shot you and the are spread out quite far so that multishot only seemed to get about 3 of them.
4. You can deterrence through the copies damage but it won't do you any good unless you can get some focus back as they keep doing their massive damage
5.His rain of fire thing is interuptable.
6.Adds are a priority most of the time until he is low on health and you feel you can burn him down, The sludge adds move fast and will kill you if they catch you.
Trampa de hielo
is your friend, probably should be glyphed although I didn't do that.
7. Relax. I spent over an hour and a half on this fight. At the end I couldn't be bothered to wait cool downs to come off readiness or my pet res etc and I really was just mucking around and ended up killing him. I guess it's just practice makes perfect!

i507 Disc Priest using Haste Meta Gem
It wasn't that it was bad, it was that it was grueling. But once I figured some thing out, it actually just became about doing the mechanics right. The other problem was targeting, as I kept trying to target Chi-Ji and made a focus macro to help heal Wrathion better. I mostly used Binding Heal on Wrathion. You want to be DPS'ing constantly. Your healing spells and atonement spells will keep damage up on the boss. There's a buff that Chi-Ji places on you that works well with Atonement.
Phase 1:
Kite the boss around. Unless you have a way of interrupting the first ability, it will summon a large red puddle to get out of and avoid. Try to kite him around the edge so only half the pool is in the room. But in the thick of things, don't worry about this too much. They eventually despawn.
By kiting, you avoid a lot of his melee damage and the meteor shower. And prevent Wrathion from taking damage by standing in stuff. He does no damage anyway, so you don't have to worry about it.
When he fixates on Wrathion (using Eyes of the something), immediately use Psychic Horror to fear him off. That will save you a ton of healing. He'll follow that up with another AoE Spell (brown ground effect), so just avoid that.
Lastly, in this phase, he'll summon adds. They're really low on health... one Shadow Word: Pain will kill them in its duration. I basically just got into a position to halo, and then 1 tick of Mind Sear finished them off.
Phase 2 is a recovery phase. There will be some adds to kill, and in the 4 cardinal directions elementals shoot a log of fire at Wrathion. You just have to stand and let them hit you instead of him. To do this successfully, you will have to move forward to intercept some of them early. You can easily heal Wrathion during this time to get him nice and full, but if you've been good about your fears, he really won't be that hurt.
Once the phase is done, the boss activates again. I fear him and use a Hymn of Hope if I need to (which actually sent two fireballs at him).
That's all there is to it. You'll want to use your speed boost a lot (Feathers or Body and Soul) to keep moving and get the correct positioning.
Good luck!

disc/holy priest:
I tried the Red Crane (healer) challenge as ilvl 507 disc priest first, but failed a couple of times. Doing damage myself didn't work out because of too much incoming damage. Healing Wrathion didn't work out in the long run because I had to spend to much mana and didn't get past 50 or 40% before beeing oom (I was specced towards atonement with only medium mana efficiency).
So finally I specced holy (switched in two spirit gems but forgot to change glyphs...). In Charkra Serenity and with Mindmender mana worked out fine. I kept renew rolling on Wrathion and switched between heal and binding heal and HW:serenity on cd. I used Prayer of Mending sometimes, but I think it doesn't jump from player to NPC, so that maybe wasn't the best choice. With Mindmender on cooldown I didn't even need Hymn of Hope.
The fight takes a couple of minutes because Wrathion doesn't do much damage. But it basically boils down to not standing in stuff, keeping both of us alive and running into Wrathion to have the adds in one place and Mind Sear them down asap. BTW: Placing a Lightwell can block the adds/projectiles in phase 2 (from one direction) :)

For Yu'lon (ranged dps), if you are struggling, take the lesson she's trying to teach Wrathion (and I say that having sworn at her out loud for longer than I care to admit). When she says wisdom is knowing when to do NOTHING, she really means it. This fight becomes extremely simple if you just cc the adds without ever hitting them, and leave Wrathion alone and far away when he splits.
When it starts, nuke Wrathion, keeping max dots on him and cc'ing the adds until he splits. Ignore the adds, as she says. Don't panic - when they spawn they don't attack immediately, so stay on Wrathion as long as possible before they aggro. Wait until they come to you, then cc. On my priest, this meant fearing the adds (Psyfiend and Void Tendrils both work as well), but any slow/stun/immobilize should work. Just get them away from you while you continue to dps Wrathion. Be aware that Wrathion can be feared/stunned as well.
Here's the important part: when Wrathion splits, run out on the balcony behind Yu'lon and hang out. Just wait, bandage, regen mana. The explosion when his copies finish casting will not reach you out there. When the adds come, re-cc them. Wrathion eventually will run up (this can take awhile), and he should be low HP. Nuke/dot him up.
As a side note, Wrathion doesn't pull until you actually hit him. Pre-pot and stand behind him for the buff. At the beginning, you should be able to duck through him a couple of times to avoid his big hit ability and take advantage of the dps buff while all your trinket procs are still up for maximum kill time, before the first adds spawn.

For melee dps, Is he supposed to be constantly turning to face you during the few seconds after you interrupt him? I feel like this is meant to be you opportunity to really burn him but he just turns to face me no matter how quick I am. Also I found that if your not like directly behind him his cleave will still hit you no matter where you are in relation to the graphic(A spell graphic not accurately showing the danger area of an attack? shocking i know -_-)
Haven't managed to do it yet but i'll keep trying. Very pleased to see this isn't a pushover quest and you actually have to know what you're doing. I'm up to the last fight of rank 9 in the brawlers guild and i can say this fight(at least the melee challenge portion) is right up there with the high rank bosses in terms of difficulty.

I heal on my priest using Vuhdo. I understand that Wrathion does not show up as being in your group interface but he is considered to be a part of you group. Hence, AoE heals such as prayer of healing will heal both you and Wrathion. I also did notice that I could use prayer of mending on him as well. This is a spell that can be used only on people who are part of your group. I found setting him as a focus on my healing interface helped a lot for keeping him and myself both up.

I did it as a 524 ilevel resto druid, on my first attempt. I'm a normal mode raider who recently killed Lei Shen on Normal. Here's some of what I did.
My talents were Feline Swiftness, Nature's Swiftness(In 5.4, Ysera's Gift might be good once you get Nature's Swiftness as an ability), Faerie Swarm, Soul of the Forest, Ursol's Vortex, and Heart of the Wild.
I kept Regrowth and a triple stack of Lifebloom running on Wrathion at all times, using Rejuvenation on Clearcasting, as well as Swiftmend and a Healing Touch+Nature's Swiftness macro to heal him up when he got low. I also periodically used Ironbark on Wrathion to reduce his damage when I was low on mana
I stayed moving for the most part when I wasn't healing, running out of the rain of fire, ground effects and so forth. Druids being a relatively mobile healing class helped a great deal
I didn't attack Deathwing at all, nor did I ever get aggro on him even while healing myself; as such, the Eyes of the Destroyer phase was largely inconsequential for me. I didn't find the amount of damage he did to Wrathion problematic, so I saw no reason to tank him or divert his attention.
A single cast of Moonfire was enough to defeat the adds once the DOT ran its course, and I kited them until they died. Other classes may have instant cast nukes or dots that would also work; an instant-cast one that doesn't kill instantly may be better than a cast time one that does
When the "defend Wrathion" phase came up, I popped Barkskin and soaked the projectiles, standing on Wrathion, strafing out to intercept each one, and healing myself with Rejuvenation. It's not too bad if one hits him, but it's better to avoid it.
I forgot to get the Celestial Offering on this character, but it's worth repeating that it helps
I popped Innervate and my Shado-Pan trinket at every opportunity, while the normal version of Horridon's Last Gasp helped keep my mana up; this fight is mainly about finding a good equilibrium and keeping Wrathion healed without expending your mana too quickly
The fight was very long; over 10 minutes or so, but it's overall easier than the DPS challenge, which I'm stuck on with my fury warrior. If you stick to a safe routine, keep Wrathion alive and his health up, and don't take risks, you will prevail
I hope this advice was useful for healers; I did it mainly with a resto druid in mind, but some of the principles- mainly that slow and steady wins the race here- apply to other classes. Good luck and have fun.

Speak with Yu'lon
Wrathion says: The Jade Serpent is the incarnation of wisdom in Pandaria. Let's see what she has to say.
Wrathion says: Great Jade Serpetn! Hear our plea.
Wrathion says: My champion and I seek the blessing of your wisdom.
Yu'lon says: Ah, the dragon-child and the hero. Together you will achieve great things.
Yu'lon says: Tell me, dragon-child: What is the nature of wisdom?
Wrathion says: To do what is right, no matter the cost. That is wisdom.
Yu'lon says: Spoken like a true child of the Aspects. Always seeking to change the world.
Yu'lon says: But true wisdom comes from KNOWING what is right. And sometimes, DOING nothing at all.
Wrathion says: When is it ever wise not to act for the greater good?
Yu'lon says: To learn THAT is to learn true wisdom.
Yu'lon says: Come forward! I will give you my blessing.
Yu'lon says: My challenge, if you accept it, will test your cunning and footwork in the midst of life-threatening danger.
Speak with Xuen
Wrathion says: I am looking forward to this: The White Tiger is the embodiment of strength in Pandaria!
Wrathion says: Great White Tiger! Hear our plea.
Xuen says: Ah, the young black dragon graces my temple. The deeds of you and your champion are quickly becoming Pandaren legend.
Wrathion says: I take great pride in the company I keep.
Xuen says: Tell me young prince: What is the nature of strength?
Wrathion says: The power to crush one's foes. That is strength.
Xuen says: You speak only in terms of one's enemies.
Wrathion says: Certainly, strength can benefit one's allies.
Xuen says: How so?
Wrathion says: ...by using it to crush their enemies!
Xuen says: A black dragon, through and through. Very well, I will give you my blessing, but also some advice:
Xuen says: Strength used in the service of others is twice as powerful as strength spent on our foes.
Xuen says: Now. My challenge, should you accept it, will test your ability to stand right in the face of danger and persevere.
Speak with Niuzao
Wrathion says: Here we are, the home of Niuzao, the Black Ox. He is the patron spirit of Pandaren fortitude, the only celestial who chooses to live beyond the wall.
Wrathion says: Mighty Black Ox! Hear our plea.
Wrathion says: My champion and I seek your blessing of fortitude.
Niuzao says: So enters the dragon, and his mortal champion. You are welcome here.
Niuzao says: Tell me, Black Prince: What is the nature of fortitude?
Wrathion says: The strength to overcome any hardship! This is fortitude.
Niuzao says: You confuse strength with fortitude, young dragon. But power is worthless without spirit.
Niuzao says: I have seen humple slaves endure unimaginable torture, only to rise up and overthrow their masters.
Niuzao says: And I have seen the mightiest of emporers laid low by the perserverance of the smallest of enemies.
Wrathion says: You mean to say - physical strength is developed without, but fortitude comes from within?
Niuzao says: Precisely!
Wrathion says: ...Sure, I knew that.
Niuzao says: Of course you did. We will put your understanding to the test.
Niuzao says: My challenge, if you accept it, will test your champion's ability to defend and protect while enduring terrible hardship.
Speak with Chi-Ji
Wrathion says: The Red Crane of Hope has inspired the citizens of Pandaria from the very dawn of history. I very much want to speak with him.
Wrathion says: Great Red Crane! Hear our plea.
Wrathion says: My champion and I seek your blessing of hope.
Chi-Ji says: My my, the child of the Worldbreaker, proof that none are beyond redemption. I am honored by your visit.
Chi-Ji says: Tell me, son of the Earth-Warder: What is the nature of hope?
Wrathion says: Hope is... a belief in a better tomorrow.
Chi-Ji says: You speak, but you doubt your own words.
Wrathion says: ...Great Crane. You have not seen what I have seen.
Chi-Ji says: You underestimate me.
Wrathion says: ...the fires that once burned the sky will return. It is inevitable. The Burning Legion WILL find Azeroth.
Wration says: Seas of blood, cities in ruin! Who are we - one divided world - to stand against a legion?
Wration says: You speak of hope. Believe me, the thinnest sliver of belief that we might somehow survive the coming devastation is all that sustains me.
Chi-Ji says: Rise, son of Deathwing. I will give you my blessing, for you need it more than any I have ever met.
Chi-Ji says: I challenge you not to think of hope as a vague and unimaginable future.
Chi-Ji says: Live EVERY day with hope in your heart. In doing so, you CREATE the future you dream of.
Wrathion says: ...thank you, Great Crane.
Chi-Ji says: My challenge, if you accept it, tasks you with healing the most grievous of wounds.
Travel back to The Veiled Stair, meet with Wrathion again on Mason's Folly
Quest accepted: Cloak of Virtue
Wrathion says: Welcome back, champion!
Wrathion says: Excellent work with the celestials. Can you believe how chatty they were?
Wrathion says: I just wanted them to hand us our reward, but they were just "talk talk talk talk talk"
(I found this to be rather funny, because I believe it is a tongue in cheek comment about how most players feel about the lengthy dialogue in the game)
Wrathion says: I'm sorry - where were we? Oh yes! I have something for you:
Wrathion says: The very spirits of Pandaria are supporting us in our grand crusade! Behold:
Wrathion says: The strength of the White Tiger.
Wrathion says: The wisdom of the Jade Serpent.
Wrathion says: THe fortitude of the Black Ox.
Wrathion says: And from the Red Crane, a shining beacon of hope for a better world!
Wrathion says: Our world.
Wrathion says: There! It is ready.

Tank challenge -- 518 prot warrior
Compared to protadin comments earlier, I do consider this a DPS race, due to very low ability to restore health to Wrathion as a warrior.
Use DPS trinkets and +STR food buffs and flasks. You will have lower health, yes, but you can survive through with timely CD use, especially relying on victory rush / impending victory from killing add waves (who hit hard, by the way). On my successful attempt, I somehow managed to stay up even with almost 3M damage taken, if you want a reference point.
Your goal should be to finish fight before 2nd wave of mirror image attacks... you are really pushing your luck if you expect to keep Wrathion alive much longer than that.

After attempting the DPS challenge a number of times, I decided to give the tank challenge a go based on some general comments I read about how much easier it is. Ended up getting it on my first try. I did it in almost all DPS gear. Used a 2 piece Tier 14 tank gear with everything reforged to heavy mastery. Also replaced rune on sword with tank rune.
That was more than enough as I never dropped my health below 80% with minimal cooldowns popped. Wrathion also was in no danger of dying. Be sure to interrupt where possible and if DW does get a cast off, be sure to drag him out of it so Wrathion doesn't take unnecessary damage.
I would highly recommend any DPS/tank specs to try tank one first.

I like a challenge but after 3 hours on Yu'lon with my Balance (boomkin) Druid (518) the closes I came was 20%.
I tried killing the adds asap, multidot them and kite them but that was no succes, when the last died the 1st was back.
I tried cc, started power nuking the prince and when the adds came mass entangle them. then attack prince again until entangle broke, then mass entangled again. this went well but after 3rd mass entangle they are so fast i can't cast it quick enough before they grab me.
Hope they tune down the fight a bit.

I found this post explaining a trick for
Ranged DPS
. It's from a mage's perspective, but should work for other RDPS as well.
A thousand thanks and kudoz to the guy who found it. It worked for me today, hope it still works for everyone who gets their runestones done in the future.

1. Start behind him, pop every cd you got and start blasting away from behind, hopefully getting a nice big combustion.
2. As soon as he spawns his icky adds, blink and run up to the balcony, jumping up on the fence and balancing over to the far end.
3. When Wrathion comes running he might perform his aoe once, depending on how fast you jumped up on the fence. If not he will simply stand there, looking dumb and cast his other two spells. For convenience, save your interrupts for the Blood of whatever, as the rain of fire does minimal damage.
4. Now just pump away at him until he runs down and does his mirror image thing. While he is downstairs playing you can use the downtime to heal up, check your gear and read a book.
5. When Wrathion returns to being just one dude, jump down from the fence to get aggro and then jump right back up again. He will come running like a faithful dog and your Little dance can start over again.
6. Repeat step 4 and 5 as many times as needed and then go get your "well deserved" reward!

Crane healing challenge felt about the same difficulty as a heroic scenario. Don't stand in stuff, heal Wrathion, heal yourself... and don't stand in stuff. Wrathion is a poor tank and he'll let a group of slimes munch on you the whole fight, so I'd suggest killing them yourself.
I wish I'd tried the healing challenge in my dps spec (elemental shaman). I think it would be quite doable.
Edit: I just did the serpent one as well just to see what it is like. So much harder! And I checked the healing one and the game will not allow you to attempt it unless you are in a healing spec.

If you can do either the tank or healer trials, they're easy because
you can cheat
:)
The Healer trial being in Krasurang allows you to pick up a full complement of buffs by using the Mercenary Contracts available from
Proveditor Grantley
or
Ongrom Dientenegro
for 10 Commendations which makes things a bit easier. Only downside is you have to fly halfway across the map to rebuff if you fail.
Even better is the Tank trial being in Townlong Steppes allows you to pick up a Shado-Pan companion from Shado-Pan Garrison dailies as they (currently) will assist in the trial fight. I got through the trial very easily using
Taoshi
. Others report
Flor Nevada
is also very beneficial for the fight.
Edit: You can also now use
Brebaje de Pi'jiu brumoso
Brebaje de Pi'jiu espeso
&
Brebaje de Pi'jiu burbujeante
from Timeless Isle in any of the trials as well for yet another boost.

Regarding this quest:
- Your main role here is one of 3 basic, Heal, Defend or Fight Wrathion... its all based on your choice and preferred.
A BRIEF WARNING = Make sure you
SPOKEN to each Celestial
before you "
Perform your battle
", either as a Tank, Healer or DPS. The very reason for this is that as soon your finished your battle you cannot speak to the other celestials without being forced to "re-do" it all over. (Celestials become locked) AkA = They see the quest as complete.
Edit: The following "Bug-related" that you could not speak to any other Celestial after you completed a fight has been sorted, So dont worry if you choose to do your fight before flying over to each of the celestials after your battle been completed.
At "Jade Temple", you will find "Wrathion" outside the "Great Gate", the outer-wall section.
The following Battles comes from what you feel most comfortible playing as (if your e.g Druid/shaman), or other class that just have 1 single role (as rogue).

he first thing you do is to go and speak to the Celestials that you will not fight, and take your "serious" celestial last, since after the fight you cant speak to any other celestial.
Second, Prepare to move
ALOT
and that you got Food, Flask and Potions with you becuse this WILL be tough and it may take you a few (10+) deaths if you dont play safe but also Offensive...
A Side note, IF you got Talents/Spells to selfheal i highly suggest drag them to the bar or activate the Talents for this fight since the very least selfhealing for a tank/dps fight is cruicible to succeed!.
- Now i do wish you give it an Attempt (maybe not the first serious) but so you see the mobs, Damage and mechanics going on during the fight so u get a glimps of what to move from, Kill or Heal heavenly through.

Yu'lon easy mode (ranged dps)
do this, and you'll love me after :)
- When you engage Wrathion just focus on avoiding damage in the begining, dont use your cd's instantly. When adds spawn, run out to the balcony ASAP but before that use and ability that lets you drop aggro (for mages invisibility, priests fade, etc)
Now the best part comes: adds will now go back to the center of the room with the gong. You will never see them again and won't have to worry about them :))
- Now's time to hurt Wrathion, just keep in mind that you never leave the balcony and don't go too close to the stairs or the adds will start chasing you again. So, avoid damage and do some dps.
- At some point (25% health) Wrathion will go back to the gong room to summon his mirror images. DONT FOLLOW, stay where you are, and heal yourself (glyphed invo for mages)
- After while all mirror images will drop dead, Wrathion will come back, so again: avoid damage and do your dps (just dont go near stairs)
If Wrathion goes again to summon his mirror image (that happens if you are like me lfr geared), again you stay there on balcony, heal, and dps him when he comes back.

First of all, it doesnt matter which challenge you do, as long as you complete it, even if you do the healer challenge, you can take the ranged DPS cloak....
Second, I couldnt find any post stating where to find the celestials
... if you, like me just talked to everyone and didnt really took attention of the celestials names or dont know them and want to know which zone to go to get the challenge quest, here they are:
Jade Forest (Jade Temple): Range DPS
Krasarang Wilds (Red Crane): Healers
Kun lai summit (White Tiger) : Melee DPS
Townlong steppes (Black Ox): Tanks
I wish I could give you the coords as well but I dont know all of em :(

Challenge of Yu'lon as a Shadow Priest is cake. Just spec into Spectral Guise. DPS Boss, right before adds spawn cast mind binder followed by spectral guise and book up to the balcony behind yu'lon. After that it's just you and him.
Some may think the mindbender isn't needed but with the spectral guise only lasting 6 seconds it makes the timing easier to ensure you don't get their aggro. the mindbender pulls the aggro, the spectral guise disengages you.

This is for Windwalker Monks on how to beat the Melee DPS challenge at the Temple of the White Tiger:
As a windwalker monk I found that all these mechanics were fairly easy. First, get out of his cone fast, roll if needed. Always interrupt the Blood cast. It's easy not to stand in it, but once interrupt he stands their for a few seconds looking stupid and giving you seconds of valuable DPS. Him splitting was cake for a monk, just Spinning Crane Kick through them all and poof.
But this comment is for how to handle the adds which wasted me more times then I can count. The easiest way was to Touch of Karma Wrathion and Spinning Crane Kick all of them until the adds are dead. However this only works every 90 seconds and there is a group of adds that will pop up before the cooldown resets. So, for that batch you'll have to use your defensive cooldowns. Fortifying Brew and the talent Dampen Harm are invaluable. Also know that these adds are stunable. So if they surround you use the talent Leg Sweep. If you can get them all in front of you (including Wrathion) use Fists of Fury. If those are all on cooldown then your best bet is just to kite like mad with Spinning Crane Kick.
The only issue Windwalkers have with this fight are those adds, just stun them and save cooldowns for them. Like many WoW fights, this isn't hard, but it is crazy easy to make mistakes. And the mistake forgiveness on this fight is very low.
The video of me beating it:

For the healing challenge, it is worth noting that the fixiate on Wrathion CAN BE interrupted (I did it with fear, but stuns should work aswell), so if you find it troublesome to heal your black dragon, feel free to use any ability that can cc Deathwing! Also, after each succesful "elemental" phase, the next bolts will travel faster and faster, making it harder to intercept the missiles, bear that in mind! Good luck :)

As a 519 Fury warrior, I had trouble with this. To be honest, it's probably because I suck. It took me many attempts (read: 5-6 hours worth), and a bit of good luck on positioning to get it down. My main issue were the slimes, and having enough DPS to get them down before they killed me.
My advice is to spec Bladestorm, Impending Victory, Disrupting Shout and Double Time.
The key is to absolutely make sure you interrupt every cast of the Blood AoE. If you're in the middle of Bladestorming slimes, use Disrupting Shout, otherwise, Pummel. ALWAYS group the slimes together and ALWAYS keep Wrathion as close to the slimes as possible (even when they're dead) so you can quickly pick up DPS and interrupt Blood AoE. Don't put your back to the slimes (duh) and try to DPS them as much as possible before they become "active" (they have a little bit of time when they spawn where they don't attack).
Start the fight slowly, don't pop cooldowns. For the first set of slimes, use Bladestorm (and only bladestorm). After the first set is down, you should be able to squeeze in 2x Impending Victories to heal up before the next set of slimes. For the 2nd set of slimes, use Recklessness WITH Die by the Sword, obviously with Whirlwinding x3 + Raging Blow.
Once the second set is down, you'll be in (or entering) phase 2 with Wrathion's clones. Pop a heal pot. Alternate between Heroic Leap and your double Charge to kill as many clones as possible. ALWAYS try and get the largest group of clones first. I think there are 3 waves of clones, with Wrathion taking a short pause in between. Killing the clones enable your Impending Victory, so use that to heal up during those pauses. You should find that by the end of phase 3 you should have a pretty full health bar due to Impending Victory.
At this point, you'll be entering the first phase again...and simultaneously....the slimes will be spawning. Pop Bladestorm again....and anything else you have (probably not much, Skull Banner maybe). Continue to interrupt....do the dance....Execute the $%^& out of him and keep it cool.
It took me ages to get a perfect execution and a lucky run of positioning. At my gear level (only LFR) and without much of a self heal, the Slimes were the biggest challenge. Keep at it. The only buff I used was a STR flask.

For the struggling warrior on the White Tiger/Melee challenge of this quest: There's a small bug in the stack generation of the adds (Neltharion's Tears), if you fear them shortly after they spawn, they never start generating any stacks - making kiting a fair option to a slow but quite easy kill.
Simply pop your 3 minute cooldowns early on, and start kiting as soon as the feared Tears return to you. Then await a good moment to pop the cooldowns again and you should have him down by the third cooldown rotation.

Have been trying this all afternoon as a Combat Rogue, and after 5 wipes, I either need better gear (I have ilvl 507/508 gear atm), or this event needs to be nerfed heavily, at least the Neltharion's Tears need nerfed from the fight. Unless somebody has any tips or tricks to complete this in Combat Spec. As I lack 2 daggers to try Assassination. :(

It really seems like this not possible to do on destruction. Ive been told to aoe the adds down but i cant kill them before they kill me. Instead i aoe fear them to buy 20 secs. keep nuking to boss trying not to take damage. Cant get him below 20% before adds come back and kill me. THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING IM MISSING! :(

Shadow Priest solution.
I had a hard time doing this quest because of the adds making me busy so i couldnt dps the boss. Finaly i managed to find a way to do it. Its not pretty i know but atleast it got the job done. =)
1. Start the boss and dps with all you got until he start to spawn the adds. Then run away against the dragon on the balcony.
2. Jump up on the fence and make your way all the way to the back so you stand behind the dragon. As soon as you jump up the adds stop coming so do this as soon as you get out on the balcony.
3. Jump down and the boss will rush you. As long as you dont go to close of the entrance the adds should not come for you. Dps the boss and avoid his abilitys. Void tendrills are a great weapon of choice hear to get him to stand still for a longer period of time.
4. When boss runs inside, jump up the fence again. He will now do his mirror images so just wait for him to finish before jumping down again and repeat step nr 3.
Depending on your gear it will take a couple of rounds to get him down. I was itemlvl 521 and got him down on the third round. This should work for any ranged dps class. Good luck! =)

I completed this on my resto druid (ilevel in the low 520s, 3043 haste/high mastery build) in the following way.
Buffs/benefits:
- I made sure I had a
Celestial Offering
(regen 1k health/sec - every little bit helps, right?).
- I used a
Flask of the Warm Sun
. I ended up throwing out a lot of Regrowths though, and near the end I was pretty low on mana, so
Flask of Falling Leaves
might have been beneficial.
- I used Intellect buff food (
Mogu Fish Stew
), but again, if I had to redo I'd consider using spirit buff food like
Steamed Crab Surprise
instead.
- I got all of the Mercenary buffs from the
Operation: Shieldwall commission collector
(
Arcane Brilliance
,
Blessing of Might
,
Power Word: Fortitude
, and
Binding Elemental Oath
). Horde commission collector
here
.
- I had a warlock healthstone from an LFR I ran just before starting the quest. Yes, I can always heal myself - but any mana savings is worth it!
Talents I found useful:
-
Heart of the Wild
- for the DPS and stat benefits.
-
Incarnation
- especially for mana regen.
-
Displacer Beast
- I cannot recommend this talent enough for this encounter. It saved me from a ton of damage. The only wrinkle is that the default behavior of DB switches you into cat form, so here is a macro I used to switch me out:
/use Displacer Beast
/cancelform
UI considerations:
- Before starting the encounter use /focus on Wrathion, then move the focus frame near your unit frame.
- Vuhdo users - I found it useful to make a new panel that included Wrathion and me so I could use all the keybinds I was used to:
- /vuhdo opt
- Move > Add new panel > Type: Special, Value: Focus, OK
- Click on new panel's + sign to make a new unit next to the focus unit you created, then for the new unit select Type: Special, Value: Self
- I'd suggest moving the frames close to the center of your UI so you can take in both health levels and the field of play at a glance.
The encounter (phase 1 - Deathwing beating on Wrathion):
- I started by letting Deathwing aggro on Wrathion, then put up Faerie Fire on DW. I then used Ironbark on Wrathion on cooldown and kept Moonfire on DW as often as I could.
- If you get aggro, don't panic. Just kite while healing and eventually DW will turn back to Wrathion.
- During the rain of fire, just take a step or two to avoid being hit if you're standing in a dark spot. No need to run around like crazy.
- For DW's cone attack, the fiery pools, and the annoying oozes, use Displacer Beast as needed to leap away from danger (and laugh about how OP it is for this fight).
- When the oozes come out, Moonfire and kite them. Use Barkskin as needed.
- Note that the oozes each seem to have their own respawn timer. I killed mine so that they more or less respawned 2 at a time, which I found less chaotic to deal with.
- Keep all your heals rolling on Wrathion during this phase, because he doesn't use defensive cooldowns and he stands in the fire like an LFR tank. /sigh
The encounter (phase 2 - spines):
- Don't stand too close to Wrathion while blocking the thrown spines or he'll take damage anyway.
- Sometimes more than one spine will come almost simultaneously - don't panic if you can't block every single one.
- I was able to regen quite a bit of mana this phase by using more conservative healing options.
Definitely the hardest part of the fight is dealing with the oozes, but once you get a handle on those it's a win. All in all a challenging but fun encounter! Good luck!

Healer/Chi-Ji
- Priest
item level ~508 - LFR
spec - holy, tried disco but I fail too many times
core spells:
Heal, Holy Word: Serenity, Greater Heal, Flash Heal, Divine Star, Renew, Prayer of Mending, Power Word: Shield
Glyphs:
Glyph of Reflective Shield, Glyph of Renew, Glyph of Prayer of Mending
Aura/buff:
Chakra: Serenity, Inner Will
Basically there are two phases:
boss and elementals
Boss phase:
focus on Wrahtion only, use Renew, Prayer of Mending, Power Word: Shield, Word: Serenity on cooldown; Heal and Greate Heal regarding need; Flash Heal only in crisis (mana conservation)
When boss spawns 4 elementals (~25k HP each) use Divine Star, aim to Wrahtion, it will heal him and kill adds on the way back. Ideally kill them at the center of the room
Elemental phase:
Simply use Leap of Faith to pull Wrahtion out of the line of fire. If you kill adds in the middle or on line of fire, it will kill them during this phase, or just use Divine Star again.
Try to save mana during this time, use cooldowns on trinkets, Arcane Torrent, etc ...
When boss spawns, send Shadowfiend on him, DO NOT FORGET TO SWITCH BACK TO WRAHTION, sometimes, you loose focus and you fail.
Repeat until its completed. It take many phase switch until Wrahtion finally kill him, do not rush.
If you get aggro, use Fade, Spectral Guise or run like hell, each hit on you cause 300% hit on Wrahtion !

Elemental Shaman. Struggled several hours, running up nearly 1K in repair bills. Then I saw rehlyihmah's post (above). He provided the key, here's some more details:
525 Draenei. I meant to switch talents: drop Elemental Blast for Primal Elementalist, but forgot. That talent would be much better here. But, I downed him without it.
Pre-pull) Warm Sun Flask, Blessing of the Celetials Token (10% Int buff in Jade Temple), Searing Totem, Earth Elem Totem, Stormlash Totem, Jade Serpent Pot, ... Go
Pull) Elem Blast, Flame shock, Lava Burst, Lightning Spam, you know the drill.
Keys) Stay behind him (blindside buff). When the adds spawn, back off. Rocky should agro on boss and get it on adds fairly quick. Find out which way is behind him (to maintain blindside buff), and Ghost Wolf 30-35 yards away.
Target an add, ascend (I didn't hero, was saving it). Lava Beam. Remember, Lava Beam increases with each jump. You target an add, because you want Wrathion to get hit with the later (bigger) jumps. The adds will find you, and start crawling to you, but should be dead before they get back to you. And, if you're lucky you'll have a few precious seconds of Ascend left to get a few Lava Bursts on him.
Go back to dancing w/ Wrathion, stay behind him, but close (just past the 5 yard mark, crumbling arc seems to have a slightly bigger hit radius than the graphic). Use Lightning Bolt while moving, save Lava Surge procs for when you have the blindside buff.
If you don't kill him before the mirrors, you'll be really close. My last Bolt before he disappeared finished him (he runs away from you, towards the middle, granting his blindside buff).
You can fight through the mirrors (Shaman Rage + Astral Shift + Healing Totem), hoping to find him and finish him.
Or you can wait on the Terrace (behind Yu'lon). It's a risk either way. The mirrors can kill you if you have bad luck finding him. Or you'll have to deal with the blobs twice before the mirror phase finishes. They respawn every 55-60 seconds. Worst case, the blob's 2nd respawn will be at the same time the mirror phase is finishing, and you have to deal with both again.
If you choose to wait out the mirrors, you still have Earthgrab totem, Fire Elemental Totem, Hero, Thunderstorm (the knockback works on the adds, but not Wrathion), another potion of choice (heal or Jade Serpent). Do what you need to do to survive the blobs, then get on his blindside and finish him.
Good luck. I needed it, you probably will too :)

Retribution Paladin
strategy for Melee Challenge at White Tiger Temple
I've completed this challenge as Retribution Paladin with ilvl 518 gears. I've attempted like close to 30 times to figure out a way to do it.
Preparation
Make sure you have reset your talents to comprise of Pursuit of Justice, Repentance, Eternal Flame and Light's Hammer.
Prepare the required food that increases your strength, have the Celestial Offering coin, some bandages and also healing potions in bag. Don't forget your Flask of Winter's Bite.
Execution
Starts off the fight with your Inquisition active.
Cast Repentance on Wrathion once he started to cast falling fireballs. Right after he is in meditation mode, the ooze will spawn.
Make a few hit on one ooze, and then run away from Wrathion, where those oozes will move towards you. Once those oozes are near, cast Light's Hammer among them, and starts killing them using your Hammer of the Righteous and also Divine Storm.
Heal up yourself with Flash of Light or bandage or Eternal Flame (keep your Lay on Hands and healing potions on emergency use).
Start hitting Wrathion after you are healed up, right after he recovered from meditation mode, he'll cast the fire pools, you need to immediately cast Rebuke to interrupt this.
Once he is interrupted, blow your Avenging Wrath, Guardian of Ancient Kings and Holy Avenger, and start whacking him. You can easily avoid the frontal arc. With right movement, you should be able to get him down to approximate 50% health before he starts casting another fallig fireballs. Please note that in between this fight, he'll cast another pool of fire, and this must be interrupted. When he is reaching about 50% health, the first ooze will start resurrecting and move towards you. Once you notice the first ooze appearing alive again, immediately cast Repentance on Wrathion again to put him into meditation mode.
Kill each ooze one by one, using Light's Hammer and Divine Storm, heal up yourself again before whacking Wrathion again.
This time, when you start whacking Wrathion, he'll run to the center to start casting multiple images of himself. You must immediately cast Repentance on him again before he successfully casted that.
Once the oozes start to come alive again, take them down again using Light's Hammer or Divine Storm.
Repeat step 5 to step 9 until Wrathion is dead.
Key to Winning the Fight
Wrathion
must not
allowed to cast the multiple image at all.
Wrathion must be interrupted in casting the pool of fire at all time.
If the above is done successfully, you'll be able to kill Wrathion easily, as long as he is not casting his multiple images at all. As throughout the fight, the rez timer of oozes will definitely overlap with Wrathion casting his multiple images. This must be avoided as having both multiple Wrathion images and oozes up is suicidal.
Hope the above helps. Good luck to every Retribution Paladin attempting this.

For Elemental Shaman, here is how I finally got it done:
I originally posted this along with a bit of commentary on my blog:
http://www.theycallmesal.com/2013/07/wrathions-cloak-legendary-pain-in-arse.html
We don’t have much in the way of an agro dump, so our main issue will be the adds. What a lot of spell casters (curse you, hunters!) are doing is burning Wrathion down right at the start. You probably need pretty good gear for this strat. My ilevel was 525. Spec into anything that is bursty, because it is a short fight.
First, I stood behind Wrathion and to the right, because his aoe damage will hit you if you are in the center. Then, I put down my Searing Totem, Capacitor Totem, moved Capacitor using Totemic Projection (talent) so it was right next to Wrathion, popped a potion and then started the fight. About two seconds in, after my gear starts proccing, I pop Fire Elemental Totem and Ascendance. I have Stormlash Totem and Spriritwalker’s Grace macroed to Ascendance. Wrathion is stunned for a bit because of Capacitor so I can pound him with Lava Burst, but walk backwards (using the S key) to use Ascendance to its full extent while he comes towards me. When Ascendance is done, I pop Heroism.
Now, we have to worry about the adds. Hopefully I am far enough away so I can stand still and use Chain Lightning to get them down. If they are standing together, it will take two or three casts to take care of them. If they get too close, I use Earthgrab Totem (talent) to keep them away. After they are down, the key is to STAY BEHIND WRATHION. Do whatever it takes to do this. When I had a good shot at the guy, I used Elemental Mastery (talent) to get as much damage out as quick as I could. When the adds came back up, my Earth Elemental Totem was off cooldown and could handle them while I continued to burn Wrathion and perhaps throw some chain lighting at the adds.
We have it easy for the mirage phase. Just tab target and use Chain Lighting. Wrathion stands still for a bit, so you can get some decent shots in that way.
If I saw that I was in trouble, I used Shamanistic Rage. I have Gift of the Naru on my action bars to get my health up. I might suggest getting lock rocks from a friend if you don’t have access to that spell or others like it. I was not shy about using Healing Stream Totem or if I could stand in one spot for a bit, Healing Tide Totem (talent).
When I finally got him down, it was right after the first wave of Mirage. After that, the adds get faster and all my tricks are on cooldown, with the possible exception of Ascendance, which I also have a potion macroed to (remember, I pre-potted). Along with using Spiritwalker’s Grace, you might still have a chance to get him down. However it seems to me that if you see a second mirage, you are in trouble.

Another spell out of the toolbox for
priest healing
: in phase 2, when the elemental shoot bolts at Fururion, he will knock unconcious in the middle. Just move out of the center and
Leap of faith
him to your safe spot.
This way you have most of the phase 2 to recover and don't have to do the elementium-bolt-dance.
On a side note: I was very successful during meteor rain with
prayer of mending
healing us both through most of the damage.

Finished this a week ago as a ilevel 531 Resto Druid
.
Thought it was going to be harder, but it wasn't that bad.
Here's some tips:
- Use the mushrooms to block the missiles.
- Just spam moonfire on the adds/boss (it does enough dmg).
- You can tank the mob which makes it easier to heal.
- Barkskin is your friend ;).
- I took Soul of the Forest for extra lifebloom/rejuv ticks if needed, but take Incarnation if you're having mana issues (or if you're lower geared).
- Keep moving when he casts the ground AOE, he drops it on you. It won't hit you if you keep moving while he's casting it.
Here is an instructional video that I made of it:

ok I finally did xuen challenge on my rogue with only lfr gear at ilvl 506,it is possible, just took alot of trial and error
rogue-combat spec.
talents to take - combat readiness, leaching poison, bos, dirty tricks, anticipation.
glyphs - adrenaline rush, blade flurry, evasion
buffs - food buff, the +10% agility buff from the celestial quartermaster and the crystal of insanity buff
poisons- leaching/deadly.
keep at least 5 combo points pooled for kidney shot, which is why you need anticipation talents, you don't need to kite anything.
Just open normally, don't blow anything yet, it's basically an endurance fight.
When the first blobs pop, use evasion with bladeflurry and shadowblades/andrenaline rush. Also kidney shot wrathion with those points you've been pooling. A revealing strike/kidney shot is about a 7.5 second stun which is what helps alot. Since you do extra damage behind you also do extra healing from leaching poison, shiv. health if needed don't use Fok, just crimson tempest at 5 stacks till they are dead. They'll go down really fast and you'll lose not much hp.
Keep dpsing as normal, phase 2 with the mirrors happens about the same time the blobs respawn. When he starts running to the middle to summon then you blind him(dirty tricks talent required here). use combat readiness and blade flurry/ killing spree on the respawned blobs, just make sure you aren't next to wrathion or your cleave will disable blind. you can throw a smoke bomb here to minimize damage if you want.
After blobs are dead you'll probably be at 50% hp so you can health pot possibly if you aren't sure you can do mirrors without taking damage. Go back to wrathion, try and stun/gouge but you'll probably get the mirror phase. run to largest group and FoK, if you don't find the group in time just hit cloak of shadows to avoid damage or feint to minimize it.
Now you're back to phase 1 again, you'll have to use prep because your evasion won't be back up in time, shadow blades should be back up again so just repeat when blobs respawn. I got him down just as the blobs respawned again for the mirror phase on the second time through, so a much longer fight than normal due to my low gear.
I spent alot of time trying with assassin/sub spec but combat spec was much better at taking down adds faster I found.

Just a small point as a hunter, the Yu'lon challenge can be somewhat difficult if you're specced Beast Mastery and/or not uber geared. I attempted this in Raid Finder and Valor gear (About 508 ilvl). Certain trinkets and the hunter 2-set can sabotage the balcony method of dealing with the adds. Avoid using pet spawning trinkets or gear sets if possible. Lynx Rush was wonky for me in this fight, so I suggest using Murder of Crows unless you really need the help burning the adds the first time, then Blink Strikes isn't a bad choice.
I can suggest a reliable method of beating the encounter. Pull Wrathion normally, hang near the doorway and be ready to burn the adds fast. The adds spawn on top of him, so lure him close to the door ASAP. Because Beast Cleave is such a potent part of BM's AOE damage your pet may get squashed if you're slightly under-geared. Just use heart of the Phoenix there to get your pet back up if it drops.
Once the adds are dead, take the fight to the balcony and do the trick mentioned by several other posters. Avoid walking anywhere close to the main room, but if you mess up, dismiss your pet, kite the adds and wait for either Wrathion to use the meteor shower to feign death or a point where you can comfortably range the conal smash. You're going to want to stay on the ground for about 5+ seconds to be safe.
Use Stampede and Dire Beast (or better yet spec out of it for this fight) ONLY if you are on the far end of the balcony and have room to move. Please note, Wrathion's conal smash is hax (the hurt box is larger than the graphic). It still does damage behind him on the sides, so either you need to get directly behind him (ideal because it makes you do extra damage), or opt to range him rather than risking getting hit if you're not sure you can make it. Post haste and the extra distance Disengage glyph helps. (Just make sure you're not like me... and don't Disengage off the balcony like a pro).
Whenever Wrathion runs back to do mirror images.
Put your pet on passive
, run to the balcony edge, dismiss them, feign death, then wait for Wrathion to finish playing with himself. once he comes back, call back your pet and continue to burn.
If done correctly, the adds will hang out near the doorway towards the entrance of the Jade Temple. Small factors like the aforementioned Tier 15 Hunter 2 set will sometimes aggro the slimes even if you feel like you're no where close. The secret to success (for the under-geared like me) is being able to identify when the slimes are coming for you and
make the feign death count
.
This strat works for all hunter specs, but I think it helps BM the most. You might want to do this method anyway to avoid mirror image if you have a hard time picking out the real Wrathion during his mirror image.
-Good Luck

The ChiJi healing trial fight is ridiculously easy, it just seemed to last 8 or 9 minutes. I had no problem keeping Wrathion up as a resto shaman 519 ilvl. No mana problems at all because Wrathion doesn't seem to notice the slimes coming at you so you get WS proc when they hit you and 1 shot them with LB and if your glyphed Telluric Currents even more mana back. In your healing downtime dps the boss it makes it go quicker. BL, Stormlash, blow your elementals too (you won't need the healing buff from them if you have that talent) all will help kill the bad guy quicker.
Usual stuff, keep ES and Riptide on him, interrupt boss's one spell, don't stand in stuff. Stand in the way of the crystals they shoot at him.
I read below you can get the Dominance Offensive buy a merc buffs because it is in Krarasang, you don't need them but it would make it quicker.

My ilvl is 528 so your results may vary. Beat him on the second try in 20.02 seconds, on the first I screwed up my rotation. Very easy. Stand infront of wrathion and get all your buffs, flask food, august celestial coin etc. I recomend having the evocation talent for buff. Go ahead and pre pot and pop all cooldowns. Use mirror images last. start off with pyro then immediatly use your bomb spell. Blink behind him he will attack your mirror images. Start your burn rotation. Get an instant pryo proc, pop pom then alter time hit hit with two pyros hit alter time again another two pyros then combustion and inferno blast to spread to the adds that have shown up. Continue to dps until he dies. I hit 1.1 million dps. And he was dead before I knew what happened. I didnt even realize there were multiple phases lol. Ill try to post screenshots later of recount.

Completed the melee dps challenge last night as a windwalker monk (with 524 ilevel). I think doing it as windwalker monk may be one of the easiest classes to complete this challenge with simply because of their ability to do ranged AoE. I completely avoided taking any more than 1-2 hits from the bloods by using Storm, Earth, and Fire to throw a mirror image at them and then running to kite the adds while spamming Spinning Crane Kick. This just killed them all and otherwise it was simply a matter of avoiding things on the ground mostly. Make sure you use stuns and silences (silence when he is summoning the large pools, and you can stun him to stop him using the mirror images). If he does manage to summon mirror images as is likely while you are kiting bloods around I found spinning crane kick normally takes them all out in just a couple of seconds before they really start to attack.

As BM Worgen, I found that using Ice trap to slow the blobs, then running to the balcony and staying there, FD'ing when needed, was all I needed to do. I could stand up there and attack Wrathion at range and the blobs stayed on the ground floor.
Simply rezzed the pet when he died, kept Ice trap up as much as possible. FD'ed when needed.

Finished this tonight as ilvl 512 destro warlock, and I have some useful tips...
Was having major issues with the adds until I read mmarti74's post about dropping their aggro at the base of the stairs. This doesn't work (at least not for warlocks) however once I started using the entire length of the temple, meaning from where Wrathion stands to the very end of the balcony, I noticed that I was staying alive much longer. So, my advice for locks is the use your ports to go up and down the stairs and you should manage to stay out of aoe damage while killing adds. Also...
-Mannoroth's Fury is for sure the better selection, Kil'jaeden's Cunning will slow you down and get you killed.
-Shadow Fury as often as you can on adds, Soul Leech is probably the best for this fight too.
-
Muñeco anatómico
if you have this you can use it outside the entrance to build up embers before the fight. Obviously the beginning is the easiest part to do damage so having them at the start will be advantageous.
-
Invocar infernal
since this has ten minute CD it's best to save this for the second ad phase, if you can tell things aren't going well you don't want to use it prematurely.
-In fact, if things go bad right from the start you can run outside of the temple and Wrathion will despawn, saving you a repair bill.

I completed the quest today after finally getting my 12 Titanstones on my Death Knight. I'm giving a short description of what it entails in Tank challenge.
I tried the DPS challenge and got owned lol so it was off to plan B :P
Then I tried the Tank challenge in Blood spec but full dps gear thanks to Ecwfrk's (great tip!) post below. I picked up Protector Yi from the Shado-Pan Garrison dailies in Townlong Steppes like he suggested.
I had a food buff and was in full 502 LFR gear. He went down on the second attempt. I would highly recommend this approach to those who have a tank spec. The NPC from the Shado-Pan is of tremendous help and I hardly fell below 70% health with Conversion talent as a DK.
Some things to note:
I suggest setting focus on Wrathion and keeping an eye on his health. I actually failed the first time because Wrathion died.
When the mob targets Wrathion you need to taunt it off him.
4-5 blobs spawn as adds during phase 1 and 2 but they do minimal damage so just AoE down if possible.
In phase two, projectiles will be fired at Wrathion from 4 directions; Wrathion will be in the center. You need to step in front of Wrathion and soak the damage from the projectiles before they hit him.
Other than that, its just a matter of dps and avoiding stuff throughout the fight (meteors in sky and fire on ground) with an eye on Wrathion's health.
I highly recommend the Tank challenge instead of the DPS challenge if you want to have an easier time. You can choose any reward after completing the challenge. After reading how some people spent thousands on repair bills, the Tank challenge is not only easier but
an important plus point is as long as you stay alive, you can save on repair bills because Wrathion resets!
If Wrathion dies you can just restart the challenge. Similarly, if you are low on health, just run away and let Wrathion die first and it will reset :D
I had handed in the completed quest at the overlook at Mason's Folly (75, 80), east of Tavern of the Mists. The Wrathion in the Tavern did not accept the completed quest.

Get right behind him and spam mind spike and only mind blast when it is instant. When adds come up immediately hit fade and run as far as you can, with feathers, to the end up the balcony. This should keep them at the bottom room. While staying on the balcony, continue speed boosting behind him and spam mind spike. Bubble and renew as needed. Also, the cleave attack goes back a yard or two beyond the visual effect be weary.

Did this as an ilvl515 ele shaman. Not going to lie, was a bit of a pain and took a few attempts.
Started off near the door and popped stone elemental, hero, storm lash totem and ascendance. Zerged him as hard as possible avoiding his AoE's and standing behind him as much as possible.
When oozes spawned I nuked them down straight away and carried on fighting Wrathion. When he does his mirror ability I went up to the balcony and waited for oozes. If you are at the back of the balcony, the mirrors wont hit you when they finish casting.
After dealing with the oozes I moved forward to CL the mirrors until he was revealed. Kept doing that until that phase was over.
Next phase was just like 1st, avoid AoE and nuke.
Used Astral shift, shamanistic rage and earthgrab totem on oozes. Using Ascendance on the nuke phases as soon as the CD ended helped immensely.
If you haven't managed to beat it yet, hang in there as you will get it. Happy slaying

As a Disc Priest, I found this to be stupid easy and one shot it.
I used Power Infusion, my haste meta gem and Glyph of Smite to increase my DPS.
I use Body and Soul PW:S procs to kite the boss when needed. I casted PW:Solace, Cascade, PoMs, PW:S, and Glyphed Penance to keep Wraithion and myself alive during kite phases (when you are fixated) there're fire pools and aoe all over causing bits of damage.
I would use PW:Barrier or Pain Supp during fixates on Wraithion (cause he just chills there and fights).
I life gripped Wraithion out of the red pools.
I would use Void Tendrils on the small adds until I had a moment to Mind Sear them down (they die quick).
You can also let Wraithion soak those shards. I popped Spirit Shell and spammed Flash Heal on him when I got low and was unable to soak or Atonement heal (though Binding Heal would have been a better choice thinking back).
I didn't try to rush down the boss, it took a good 5 minutes, and I focused on staying alive and keeping Wraithion alive rather than trying to burst him down. With a 534 ilvl, I have enough intellect that the boss fell passively from Atonement heals.
Fun quest!

Red Crane as Resto Druid (ilvl 500):
Done this challenge (2nd try) by far easier than White Tiger as Feral.
1)
Did you know you can use Entangling roots on Deathwing? No? Do it and spam him with wrath with heart of the wild up when little adds are dead after just one-two moonfire ticks.
If you can keep aggro from Deathwing, even better! you can kite him with ease: he hits hard but he's very slow. Just use Nature's Grasp when off cooldown.
2)
And use Ironbark when Prince is getting lots of damage from elementals.
3)
Don't stand in the fire.
4)
Profit.
By far the easiest imo.
I didn't even take the buffs from the Domination point mercenaries.

In regards to the Ranged DPS challenge at the Jade Serpent temple, there's a few other things that I haven't seen anyone mention that'll help out a lot:
1) You can interrupt both the Reign of Fire attack Wrathion does, and Blood of the Deathsworn (the AoE fire circle). It's arguably smarter to interrupt Blood of the Deathsworn, since Reign of Fire is easy to dodge. It also causes Wrathion to stand put doing nothing for a few seconds, which is always hilarious.
2)
STAND RIGHT ON TOP OF HIM.
Wrathion doesn't melee at all, so if you're in melee range, it's
ridiculously
easy to just run through him when he does Crumbling Arc, and then blow him up from behind with the double-damage buff. This was especially easy on my Hunter, but spellcaster-types shouldn't have any problems doing this either.

Melee challenge tips (Xuen):
You can actually skip the nasty "mirror phase" starts at around 2 minutes so the goal is to beat Wrathion before it. The black dragon takes
250% more damage
if you attack him from behind thanks to
Punto ciego
debuff so your top #1 priority is to attack him BEHIND as much as you can.
As a
Guerrero
, our short cooldowned stun
Descarga tormentosa
comes incredibly handy to extend the time you can spend behind him. Using it properly at the end of
Arco desmoronado
casts earns you some highly valuable seconds under the Blindside effect.
The guide below is made at ilvl 524 so a Normal ToT raiding geared toon can achieve this but if you find yourself in trouble on beating him in time you can use some additional help to boost your dps, such like
consumables
,
external buffs
,
Hero
/
BL
from a friend or even the
Bendición celestial
item.

As a combat rogue I have managed to complete this. I thought I would put what I did up here in case it helps others.
There is a bit of luck involved ( at least in my case). First pot up and ensure you have eaten. I used the sea mist for the extra agility.
Next get a celestial offering.
I had shadow focus combat readiness leaching poison shadow step prey on the weak and anticipation in talents.
recuperate, evasion and adrenaline rush for my glyphs.
I also borrowed some health stones from a warlock and had master healing potions.
I had dancing steel on both weapons and used leeching poison and deadly
I started by sapping Wrathion and ambush.
Expose armour
Use kick for interrupting pool of fire keep recuperation up and shadowstep to stay behind him also kidney shot him as much as possible.
With the blood use evasion on the first occasion make sure you reset it and killing spree which kills the lot .
Don'tworry about the rain of fire you can see where it is going to hit.
I had the second set bloods and mirror phase at the same time use health stones ensure you are on full health combat readiness and evasion. Kite the bloods and use fan of knives go for the largest group of clones after the three phases the bloods should be dead as well.
Heal up
Then adrenaline rush and shadow blade keep behind him and you should do it.
Took me about 2 days and 2000 gold in repairs.
Good luck

The first few attempts netted a repair bill to the tune of 175g. The guides and posts for this quest are not nearly specific enough or intuitive enough.
The lava blobs are way too fast to kite. And don't respond well to ice trap. I get it, here come the comments of L2play. Nice for you that you have 520+ gear....
If you are like me, I had a LFR geared ilvl 508 BM Hunter to work with. Don't hate.
Here is what I did.
1) Read all the posts under this quests.
2) Watched a SV Hunter video and a Warlock video on YouTube
3) Followed the drop-aggro-and-run-for-the-balcony strategy.
HOWEVER:
As a low level BM Hunter it needs to be amended. And not just with "drop aggro".
1) Summon pet (I used a Wolf). Put on assist and have growl on.
2) Eat +stat food and take a +1000 Agi potion.
3) Start the fight by clicking the gong (cogwheel).
4) Move behind the prince. Damage from behind is x3 (triple dmg).
5) Drop a Snake trap and an Explosive Trap on him.
6) Serpent sting and arcane shot to engage and send the pet (on assist).
7) At this time I moved around him, watching which way the pet is facing, to avoid his cone earth crumble ability, and used A Murder of Crows, Bestial Wrath, Glaive Toss, and Dire Beast.
I wanted to save Stampede since someone mentioned in a post to not pop all Cooldowns at the start.
8) Moved to close where the stairs are. Watched for the lava bubbles.
9) Once lava bubbles appeared, ran up the steps and waited for the blobs to head for me.
10) Feign Death.
11) The lava bubbles went back to the middle circle. Jumped up and ran further into the terrace (or call it a balcony). Stop if you are behind the circle in the stone works.
12) At this time the lava bubbles came back to me. I used Readiness and Feign Death again. The lava bubbles went back to the circle. My pet was dead at this time.
13) Revive Pet.
14) Wrathion (at 80% health) now targeted the Wolf and came up to the terrace. The bubbles stayed in place.
15) This is where I went all out and used Stampede and all other cooldowns that were up. Strangely enough, I was able to stand on the left side of the terrace (if you are looking straight at the green Dragon's butt). Wrathion did not cast a single ground effect my way. All I had to dodge was the firebolts which showed up as black ground effects.
16) Whittling Wrathion down was fairly easy and I wasn't even hitting him from behind. At some percent (I suspect it was around 25%) he dashes back off the terrace to his starting point. Pull back the pet IMMEDIATELY! Otherwise you will aggro the globs and have to Feign Death again.
17) Wrathion then splits into his mirror images. Stay way at the back of the terrace. And Wait...Wrathion will come back.
18) Wrathion still had my pet targeted and came right for it. Him and the wolf headed to the back of the terrace and I leisurely dpsd him down to 0%, not even having to move much out of AOE stuff.
Then the quest will stun you and Wrathion walks way and the quest completes.
Once you feign death to evade the blobs the first time, do not go anywhere near the stairs...when Wrathion casts about 20 images of himself, they will disappear and the blobs will stay put if you stay at the back of the terrace. I made the mistake twice to go "look" what Wrathion is doing. DON'T. Wait.
All in all it took me 320g in repairs and a good amount of frustration before figuring out that you need to drop aggro twice if you're a hunter, especially if you have the tier set bonus of spawning a Thunderhawk.

If you do the Yu'lon fight, keep in mind that the bloods move faster the longer they're alive. Once they're been alive for awhile, it's like trying to outrun Usain Bolt on meth. In other words - it's freaking impossible.

As an arms warrior Warbringer and especially Storm bolt was what actually made the difference for me to kill him, combined with dps cds when possible.
Also have in mind that the images, unlike the tears, do give victory rush so you can heal good during that phase if you interrupt a bunch of images with disrupting shout and kill some one by one with impending victory/victory rush
One more observation is that glyph of gag order seemed to minimize the number of casts he did.
Last but not least, try to have Die by the Sword available for the when he is bellow 30-25%.
A well timed, un-glyphed, intimidating shout after DBtS finished helped to get rid of the adds and stay long enough on him to burn the last % while he was chain-stunned with shockwave and storm bolt.
hope that helps

Alright, I'm iLvl 526 destruction warlock with a 2 piece bonus. I cannot get these adds down in time. I can kill 3 or 4 (maybe even 5).. I know how to play my toon but damn.. Wrathion is not an issue. When I can DPS him, he goes down fast. And as I do damage, I heal me and my pet (or absorb). The only video I saw of a warlock kill on YouTube.com is from demonology. I saw one post here from a destro warlock who said he used the whole room to kill them.. I tried, but by the last blob, it is moving so fast and hitting so hard, it one shots me
When I got the legendary staff in the last XPac, I could not do some trial as destro. Perhaps this is the wrong spec. And the lack of warlock posts here concerns me. (Hunter should have it easy). Just looking for ideas... Any ideas. (And hey, telling me to give up this toon is not an option.. If I want hate, I'll go to Justin Beiber love sites and flame them. I'm talking constructive criticism here).

does quite a damage if you don't move and in phase 2 be quick and protect him using your body from the projectiles lunched by 4 mobs, During this phase I accidentally found out that if you use Banners as a shield to destroy the projectiles useful when you cant really stop them or you are to far away ( I think this works well for monks to with the Black Ox Statue ). He is basically gonna cycle through PH until he dies.
I hope this was useful Info.Good luck

DPS challenge done last night on 522 Arcane mage. The trick is to leave the adds in the room at the bottom of the stairs. I used greater invisibilty. Before the fight starts get right behind him. When ever possible attack wrathion from behind you get a huge damage increase. (if your behind him he cant hit you with his attack) I was getting crits well over a million. Stay at the bottom of the stairs till he casts his lava bubble adds, freeze them to the ground with frost nova pop invisability and run up stairs (this took a couple tries to get right, do not pop invis on steps, cast before you are on them) if done correctly adds will not follow. Stay away from steps rest of the fight. when Wraithion comes up pop CDs and mirror images he will waste time attacking them and you can dps him to about 50%. he will then go down stairs to cast his mirror images, DO NOT FOLLOW, ignore him. Just stay on the balcony and get your mana back up and catch your breath. When he comes back up after about 20 sec dps dps dps avoid stuff, win. This took me at least 10 tries to get just right but it worked and I have my 600 cloak.

So I tried this as feral dps and I lost count at how many tries I attempted. It was death after death for a couple of hours. At ilvl 518, I could not finish the encounter. When the slimes pick up their speed buff, they catch up to me and I die. I changed spec to guardian and went to do Niuzao's challenge. I finished it on my 3rd try! So if you can change spec to a tank one, it is waaaaay easier than the melee dps. It doesn't matter what challenge you do, you get to pick any one of the six cloaks.

My tips:
This video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3q8w2r_jH0
helped me a lot (already been posted here I know).
If adds spawned within 10 sec. of starting the fight I ran out and reset. Wait a few min. for CD and try again.
Remember to use your abilities when you see the debuff
Punto ciego
on yourself.
My dps was not as high as in the video so when he ran to the center and started to summon images I used
Ceguera
on Wrathion and
calmly
dealt with the adds a second time with Shuriken Toss.
After the second spawn of adds (while he is still blinded): Full energy bar,
Esfumarse
and
Golpe bajo
.
After using Fan of Knives on a group of mirror images run towards the next group.
Be sure to not spam FoK because it takes about two sec. for them to disappear if you were lucky to hit the right one.
After the mirror image phase I was able to use my offensive CD again and complete the challenge.
Items that helped me:
Nenúfar mustio
For rogues ->
. Persist through death (but disappears if you do single talent swap).
Infusión de kafa
Good for dealing with first set of adds along side Wrathion.
Bendición celestial
Passive bonus.
This was quite the challenge. Patience and some luck needed.
Wish you all the best of luck.

Rogue tips for Xu'en's challenge
This is hard, with a substantial amount of RNG. Sometimes he'll randomly pop out
Lágrimas de Neltharion
and those are your biggest and only problem in this fight. Basically you'll find that you take damage during the Tears phases, and
heal yourself
when it's only you and Wrathion.
I did it after a couple hours at ilvl 524 using the following setup:
Spec: Assassination
Talents
Enfoque de las Sombras
is not really relevant but will give you a tiny advantage during the opener
Disposición al combate
is a life saver during the tears phases
Veneno parasitante
provides an amazing self-heal because it scales with damage, which is enormous when you strike him from behind. Besides you'll need to use
Puyazo
regularly for added heals.
Paso de las Sombras
is very helpful to get behind Wrathion after kiting the tears or just to make sure you're in the right spot to hit him AND avoid damage from his arc
Abusar de los débiles
because you can stun Wrathion with
Golpe en los riñones
, avoiding further aggravating mechanics for 6 seconds and adding to your DPS
Anticipación
because it is adds a ton of damage by not wasting combo point overflow, especially when your offensive cooldowns are up
Glyphs
makes sure Wrathion is inactive when you blind him to take care of the tears
because additional DPS
is helpful during the tears phases, and a second time in the fight when you are burning Wrathion down and don't want to kite the tears.
Always start behind Wrathion and hit him from behind as often as possible for a nice damage -and self-heal, thanks leeching poison- bonus.
Interrupt
Sangre de los nacidos de la muerte
. If you don't have a visible boss cast bar, look at the ring of fire under him when he starts casting that one. the 50K damage hurt, limit your movement options and your DPS and are completely avoidable this way. Always interrupt.
Did you know you could stun Wrathion? You can.
When he starts summoning
Lágrimas de Neltharion
, the fun begins.
Ceguera
him and move away. If you have combo points left, pop
.
Kite the tears around and spam
Abanico de cuchillos
, Keep
Hacer picadillo
up in case you have to melee one and cast
Tempestad carmesí
otherwise at 4 or 5 combo points.
When they are all down, bandage up and go back to DPSing Wrathion.
When he starts popping mirror images of himself, run around near the biggest group and cast
Abanico de cuchillos
. Do not cast it more than once per group because a single cast takes care of the images and you want to keep your energy for the next group of images. The added fun here is that he'll most likely conjure more
Lágrimas de Neltharion
, so you have to kite them at the same time. Don't run around in circles because the tears will follow the shortest path and catch up, and really hurt you.
When he is down to 5 to 10% health, just beat him on the head and pop your defensive and offensive cooldowns if they are up.
I used my offensive cooldowns twice during this fight, the first time being right after the first wave of tears. I did not pop them right away because sometimes he summons tears
very
early in the fight and your cooldowns go to waste. You do get some good one on one violence after you deal with the first wave of tears, though.
You will need consumables, but don't start using them before you get the hang of it (i.e. you get to see the second summoning of tears). That's when you know you got the mechanics down and should use a flask, food and other buffs. You should already have
Bendición celestial
(bought from the quartermaster at honored).
I suggest
Frasco de flores primaverales
,
Tallarines de arroz Niebla Marina
,
Pergamino de runas de entereza III
and
Tambores de los reyes olvidados
. prepot with
Mordisco de mur
, have a fellow warlock drop a soulwell for you. You will most likely need a healing potion at some point during the fight.
Good luck, you're going to need it.

Is this quest bugged up in general, or just for tanks? I've tried over ten times now, and I can't get past this second phase for tanks. When he teleports to the middle, those bolts never come his way. They immediately blow up on Wrathion. Any news would be much obliged.

For those of you (like me), who doesn't seem to be able to turn in the quest.
It's not bugged, even though you can see Wrathion inside the Inn in The Veiled Stair, thats not the "correct" Wrathion you deliver the quest to.
The "correct" Wrathion is located at Mason's Folly (73,79) in The Veiled Stair.

Got him today as a fire mage 516GS. Took 10+ attempts on 2 specs.Followed the balcony strategy from the high rated post.
He still summons the blood bubbles on the balcony but if u dont agro them they stay where they spawned. It makes fight easier but still quite a pain. You need certain amount of DPS to put in this. If you dont interrupt him casting the Blood of Deatnborn you end with 3 pools of unactive blood pools that dispawn during Mirrow image stage. They are quite harmless unless you or YOUR pet get too close. Dont go back on the stairs as the very first pile of blood will get to you right away. It stays downstairs in the middle of the room during the whole fight. So when Wrathion is going downstairs during Mirrow images the blood pools upstairs disspawn, and it's a relief time for self-heal. Then he comes back upstairs casting the new blood pools.
For mages I suggest to go either fire or arcane because looks like water elem keeps bringing the blood from downstairs or agro the peacefull blood piles on the balcony. Yes, u can cast images along with all other DPS cooldowns.
Correct me about the bloods upstairs. Seems you better stay away from them.

As a Blood Death Knight doing the challenge at Niuzao temple - the tank challenge - this is easy enough.
The general tactics are:
- Interrupt Deathwing's blood attack. If you fail, move away from the bubbling area.
- Keep Deathwing dotted up. When the blobs spawn use pestilence (or blood boil if you have the talent) to dot them and throw down a Death and decay between you and them, with the slowing glyph, so they have to go over it and will slowly die. Keep running from the blobs - don't let them touch you. If you get close to them, death strike to keep yourself healed and shielded.
- When Deathwing turns to attack Wrathion, quickly taunt him - have this as a key you can easily press. Don't waste time clicking it.
- When the time comes to protect Wrathion, the phase where there are four adds, move around to take the bolts, simply. This is best done with a large absorption shield, so try to hit this phase with lots of death strikes used. You can always use Icebound fortitude or Deathpact. If bloods are alive during this phase, quickly nuke them using death strike so you don't lower your health too much.
It is good to have Deathpact just in case. Death and Decay glyph works for the bloods.

Just finished the tank challenge on my Prot Warrior, ilvl 519. Took me about 3 1/2 hours all told, at least I was on my 4th flask when I finally got it. So you can do this if you're just in LFR / valor gear; it doesn't take ToT heroics. I didn't die often, 4-5 times all told, mainly I wiped due to Wrathion crying uncle. The first day I mostly wiped at 50% and didn't do better than 30% remaining life on Deathwing. The second day I had a bunch of attempts end in the 8-15% range before finally getting it.
Many tips can be found around the forums, here's what I found most useful:
1) Second Wind to keep yourself alive.
2) Key bind Pummel where you can get it. I moved it from my usual spot (number 9) to the space bar. Yes the space bar. You don't have to jump and you can hit it real fast. If your taunt key isn't close by, move it too. It's worth the bit of time it takes to relearn the key binds; you don't have time to move your hands, you must have these abilities where you can hit them immediately.
3) Use a banner to block missiles.
4) You will definitely want a Shado-Pan companion. Don't know if this is by design or not, but take advantage of it. The two days I worked on this, the three girls were up. Snow Blossom was by far the most useful, not just for additional DPS, but because
her water elementals helped block missiles
! It's a bit random, but if two of them are up during the missile phase, Wrathion shouldn't get hit at all.

As a LFR geared combat rogue, I found this challenge incredibly difficult but I finally managed it this morning after around 20 attempts. All my gear is upgraded, gemmed, enchanted and I was using flasks, food buffs and every edge I had at my disposal. You can't buff player skills I guess.
Tried a number of different methods, but every failure was linked to how I dealt with the oozes. I tried burning them with cooldowns or kiting them and killing them with shuriken toss but I never managed to get Wrathion close. I'd either die to the oozes (or a crumbling arc I couldn't quite avoid as I was burning them) or I'd be so low on energy from the constant ST spam and Burst Of Speed (to stay out of range) that I couldn't get enough FoKs off during the mirror stage to take them all out. Also I only had a few seconds of dps time on Wrathion before I was back on oozes.
Anyway, not sure if the encounter bugged for me but thought I'd relay what happened in case anyone else is stuck and wants to try.
I dps'd Wrathion as normal until the oozes spawned and then began kiting them around the outside of the room, spending all the cps on recuperation. I ignored Wrathion, tried to pool energy for the mirror phase and basically just kept my distance from everything that could kill me. Here's the part that I'm not sure if it bugged, but after three complete cycles of mirror phase, the oozes stopped respawning, the blood cast stopped and the rain cast stopped. In fact, the only thing left was the crumbling arc.
I stood off him for a minute as I wasn't sure what was going on but after that, I just dps'd wrathion, stunning him when I could and making damn sure I stayed well away from the glitchy crumbling arc range. No more bloods, no oozes, no rain.
Not sure if this is by design and I reached a sympathy/boredom timer where the game just rewards you for being patient and incompetent in equal measure, or whether it bugged but thought someone might find it useful.
tl:dr Try concentrating on staying alive for ~10 minutes and nothing else and it might get massively easier.

Attention Hunters: The aggro drop strategy for dealing with adds no longer works with Feign Death. There was a hot fix to keep Feign Death from making adds unkillable, and apparently the adds are now immune to Feign Death. The way I finally won the fight was to stay close behind him for the buff and nuke away, jumping through him whenever he turned around or laid down his aoe. I dropped frost traps in the middle of the room to keep the adds under control and just went full out on Wrathion the whole time. This method worked on the 2nd try.

Just managed to do the healing challenge (Chi-Ji) as a 531 holy paladin, geared with some heroic items.
(By some stroke of luck I'd actually managed to get all the necessary runestones on an alt (disc priest) prior to my main. I had a bit of a go with said disc priest (515) geared and found I just kept wiping halfway so gave up, but at least had a bit of practise with the fight so knew what to do.)
Therefore just went in with the holy paladin and got it on the third go. I guess the gear does help, I did also use a flask and food, and used a pot during the fight when I thought the damage was getting a bit heavy. Mostly I was able to just build up good absorbs, eternal flames, using cds etc as you would on a normal fight. I didn't need to block the missiles too much on that phase, just sort of ran around and spam healed. The adds are easily one shotted by any dps spell you have, I used judgment, holy shock and even holy prism when I had it ready. It was certainly an intense fight, I didn't focus on dpsing the boss at all apart from throwing in some holy prisms, crusader striking for a bit of mana regen. If you just set focus on healing wrathion, he'll do all the work for you. Just make sure you keep monitoring mana as always and using every ability you have to get through the fight.

For Disco priest this works; shield, renew, pennance, greater heal x5, binding heal to top up both.
Kill the adds with, Halo it one shots, have Holy Nova as backup if you dont kill any.
Leap of faith to pull him to the edge during the barrage and then top up mana/health.
Then your big shield or suppression (rotate) when the barrage stops.
For the DPS buff setup a macro for SWP and cast after 5 greater heals or so, a second macro for mind bender, cast after SWP as required for mana The macros target Deathwing and marco to target Wrathion.
My Disco Item lvl 510 mostly my dps gear with spirit. I found SWP gave most buff damage, plus bit from Halo and MB. My Main Spec DPS struggles on 524 item lvl But the cloak is owe so worth it.
stand behind deathwing and move backwards/forwards to aviod the rain, stand near the edge to maximize halo
Plus mana potions and spirit buffs.

Shadow priests CAN do this! But it's tricky, and takes a little preparation.
This fight really takes place completely on the balcony. And you will only be able to do it in stages -- hitting him and wearing down his health a little in each 'round' of fighting. Do NOT engage the elements! Instant wipe - those blobs hit HARD and move FAST. You MUST stay on the balcony, and AWAY from the stairs, or those things will come up the stairs and after you again.
To prepare:
First create a macro to /target Wrathion. During the 'intermission' stage when Wrathion casts his mirror images on the main floor it is difficult to even see him let alone target him. The images each have 1k health, while Wrathion has 20 million, and eventually you will target him -- that is when the images are dead and you can begin another 'round' of fighting.
Second, practice running to the very BACK of the balcony and jumping to the top level of the fence. If you miss and fall you're dead (or if you're quick and Levitate you'll be almost dead...LOL). Either way you'll need to start over. If you don't die and run back in Wrathion is not there, and the fight is over. Don't worry -- as soon as you hit the gong again he will reappear.
Third -- and this was the key! -- make sure you have the talent for Angelic Feather. Speed helps! Also, talent in to help proc instant casts: Divine Insight and From Darkness, Comes Light. I also had Halo and Angelic Bulwark.
The fight:
Wrathion will not engage until you hit him. Before the fight begins you can place one Feather at the base of the stairs, and I placed the other two on either side of the balcony circle. You can even place the Feathers before you hit the gong -- they will stay put.
The MOST important part of the fight is the beginning. Forget about the 'extra' damage for hitting from behind -- it's not worth dying over. From behind you have too far to run to get to the top of the balcony fence, and those blobs will chase you up the stairs. IF YOU HAVE BLOBS ON THE BALCONY THE FIGHT IS OVER. There is no way you can dps those things down, and they keep coming -- faster and faster.
To engage Wrathion I stood in the center at the bottom of the stairs -- in front of where I placed my Feather. I sent in my Shadow Fiend, IMMEDIATELY hit FADE (to drop aggro), and then turned around and RAN (over the Feather) and jumped to the top of the fence. Then you stay on the top of the fence and WAIT. Eventually Wrathion will come up there, but you won't have any blobs with him. You WILL have red bubbly pools of goop -- stay OUT of them. If you get caught the blobs will spawn and the fight is over. This is why speed helps. You can maybe get ONE good hit with a Mind Blast -- but then just keep throwing out instant dots and KEEP RUNNING. Why the other feathers placed at the sides of the balcony circle will help.
Eventually you'll have an 'intermission', and Wrathion will return to the main floor and cast his mirror images. For this you return to the top of the fence at the back of the balcony -- you have no aggro there. And heal up! And you can again place Feathers around the back part of the circle on the floor of the balcony. From this position it is very hard to see Wrathion -- why the /target Wrathion macro will help. Eventually the images will drop dead and you will only target Wrathion. There is no need to rush -- I waited until my Shadow Fiend was off cool down to begin again.
Now you step off the fence to the floor of the balcony. When you do Wrathion will re-engage and come up the stairs after you. Stay at the BACK part of the balcony. Sic your Fiend on him, get off a Mind Blast and a Halo, then RUN and dot as you did at the beginning. And stay OUT of those red pools. They will bubble, but no blobs will spawn -- IF you stay out of them! Stay away from the stairs, or blobs will come up the stairs after you, and the fight will be over. This will continue for about 30 seconds, and then you get another 'intermission'. The pools will disappear and you return to the fence to heal, place feathers and wait for your cool downs to reset.
Rinse and repeat! It took me about five or six 'rounds' of fighting to eventually wear him down and kill him, and the fight took about 15-20 minutes waiting for the cool downs to reset. PATIENCE!
I can't tell you how many hours I spent -- and how much gold for repairs. Or how many ways I tried to get him before I figured out this combination. Good luck -- and hope this helps! And you can wear your new back with PRIDE!

If you are doing the Ox Challenge as a Brewmaster Monk here is the lowdown:
Spec into Momentum OR Celerity, Zen Sphere, Power Strikes, Leg Sweep, Healing Elixirs, and Xuen.
Try to anticipate the slimes spawning and have 4 chi. As soon as slimes respawn immediately hit them with Dizzying Haze and follow that up with Breath of Fire, Keg Smash, Breath of Fire x 2. That should wipe out the slimes immediately. If they spawn at an inopportune time, that's what Leg Sweep is for. Go in with a Spinning Crane Kick then Leg Sweep then finish them off with more Spinning Crane Kick, Keg Smash, or Breath of Fire.
The most important thing to do is taunt Deathwing IMMEDIATELY when he fixates on Wrathion. It is most likely the case that he will get 1 hit in on Wrathion, but that's acceptable because you should be able to out-DPS the one hit he gets for each fixate.
Also be sure to avoid the falling fireballs from Reign of Fire, and try to interrupt Blood of the Deathborn as much as possible since you don't want 50k DPS AoEs filling up the field.
In order to keep yourself alive make sure you always use Expel Harm and Zen Sphere on cooldown. Whenever you have the Healing Elixirs buff and you are down about 90k on HP, make sure to pop Purifying Brew. This should also get rid of stagger you have from Deathwing.
If you are ever desperately low on HP, just kite Deathwing and the adds with Dizzying Haze while using Expel Harm or Healing Spheres together with Zen Sphere and Purifying Brew (Healing Elixir) to get your HP back up. Xuen will taunt Deathwing as well, but you still have to watch out for his frontal cone AoE and you also have to be sure to taunt him when he fixates on Wrathion.
During the missile phase, missiles will be fired at Wrathion from the north, south, east, and west. Your Black Ox Statue WILL EAT missiles from one of those directions. Place it either before the fight or at the beginning of that phase and make sure you personally intercept the missiles from the other three directions by running into them. This is why you spec into Momentum or Celerity. Both are equally useful depending on how the RNG decides to fire the missiles at Wrathion. The advantage to placing the Black Ox Statue before the fight is that you can quickly switch its position to intercept missiles if you cannot make it in time.
It took me about 6 tries to complete the challenge. At first I had Chi Wave, but I realized that it tended not to jump to the mobs in this encounter so it was virtually useless. Also Deathwing's frontal cone half-circle AoE is really glitched and will sometimes hit you even if you are way out of it. For best results, be BEHIND him but still in melee range. Good luck!

This quest clearly combines all of my weak points in one because as an ilvl 515 Lock I have died like 10 times and haven't even come close to killing him. I think I'll just save this for after 5.4 when I am over geared for it. lol

For hunters:
After a hotfix, feigning death does nothing at all, so all the strats about running to the balcony and FD making the adds go back down to the middle no longer work.
Instead: Get a dps pet out (I used a wolf), put him on passive, move to the doorway so you attack Wrathion from behind, sick your pet on him and pop everything. Stay close at first and get behind him while he does his cone attack for the 250% added damage buff. When the oozes spawn, run up to the balcony and jump up on the rail. Stay there. If you timed it right (if you run while wrathion is doing a cone attack he will follow you and continue to dps you on the rail, this is bad) wrathion will continue doing his thing in the big room and the oozes will stop still and stand around looking confused for a while, but will no longer follow you. Then you wait.
And wait some more. Wrathion will eventually do his mirror phase down in the main room, you stay on the rail. If your pet is dead, res it and dismiss it or it gets stuck up on the rail, bring it out later. Heal up, do some knitting, ponder the wonders of life, but don't move. The oozes will stick around gaining a buff which gives them amazing speed, up to 2000% speed increase at 100 stacks, and this takes a really long time. Once they get up to 100 they go away, and they never ever come back. At this point, jump down off the rail and Wrathion will immediately run for you up on the balcony. Call your pet and jump back up on the rail, and continue to dps him. You can get down off the rail now if you wish to, keep hitting him and avoiding his aoe damage. If he was at high health he may go back for another mirror image phase, if he does, wait it out on the balcony and he'll come back to you eventually, then kill him.
Again, it takes a really really long time for the oozes to despawn, REALLY long, stay there, dont be tempted to hop down and see if Wrathion feels like playing fair, they will destroy you.
Good luck.

As a boomkin im looking for tips and tricks for this. we have to stand and cast except for our dots which seem to do no damage to the adds. I have tried speed boost to get distance between me and the adds but they seem to get one now too. and the damage they do is retarded high. Booms have no agro drop, we move slow and we have to channel to cast. once again seems like blizz has shown hatred to us. Oh its not a matter of gear either with a 523 ilvl this should be easy! PLEASE HELP!

Ranged dps:
If you're a
balance druid
like me and can't do a total threat drop for the easy way out, here's how I did it.
Spec into mass entanglement. Also spec into renewal for emergency heals. Moonbeast glyph is also pretty much a must here, as you're gonna be throwing rejuv and healing touch on yourself a lot.
When the fight starts, pop all your cooldowns to take out a nice chunk of his hp.
When the lava adds spawn, root them near the entrance of the room. Then focus on Wrathion again. Take him to the balcony before the 20 sec of the root runs out. When the adds are coming back towards you, focus one or two down, then mass root again and run to the entrance. Rinse and repeat.
The adds will be separated when they regenerate, but it shouldn't be too difficult to manage your roots and take the few that get to you.
Just be sure to keep your moon/sunfires on Wrathion at all times.
When he does the mirror image, run to the balcony and kill the adds when they regen again. Be careful with your kiting and stay away from the stairs or you'll get his Inferno damage.
And here's the kicker: After a certain amount of time (or maybe a certain amount of regens, I couldn't tell),
the adds completely disappear
. I don't think he summons them again so the fight is obviously super easy after that.
Good luck, fellow boomkins!

Something that caught my eye which may be a reference to a next expansion when Wrathion was talking with Chi-Ji The red Crane.
Wraithion: ... the fires that once burned the skys will return. It is inevitable. The Legion WILL find azeroth.
Now if blizzard announce that as next expansion i am gonna assume that was a clue to it notice when he is talking in the chat WILL is in all capitals. And some how i think wrathion is gonna play a big part in it whether he is a boss or the savior.(i am going for the big bad boss alongside the main boss of the legion)

I completed this yesterday as a Survival Hunter (around 522 ilvl). The other strategy mentioned here - waiting out the blobs while on the balcony - did not work for me. I'm not sure if it was nerfed or not, but when I tried it the blobs got to 99 stacks of the haste buff and instead of despawning, the buff became a permanent 2000% movement speed increase. I also took damage from the mirror image phase and the fireball phase while on the balcony requiring me to either use Deterrence and Bandages to survive.
However, what DID work for me - and what I suspect is probably the intention of the encounter - was to deal with the adds by simply killing them immediately when they spawned. I'd suggest laying down a few traps and maybe talenting into Narrow Escape to buy yourself time with the oozes (they actually don't have a terrible amount of hp, about 450K).
Start out behind Wrathion; if you are interested you can pre-pot 3-4 seconds after he emotes putting covering his eyes. Note that you get +250% damage when you are behind him, so this gives you a little bit of a burst at the beginning.
Stay out of the fire he throws on the ground (I believe this can be interrupted but I didn't bother). During the fire-from-the-sky phase just avoid it, pretty simple. During the mirror image phase, find the version of Wrathion that is not translucent and interrupt the cast to end the phase. During the normal attacking phase, just run THROUGH him if you are in the area where the ability is going to land. I found myself getting whacked a few times even though it didn't seem like I was in range, so I highly recommend running straight through him to get behind him rather than trying to run further away to outrange the ability.
Once I stopped trying to do fancy/weird stuff like despawning the oozes, I got the fight down fairly quickly. Good luck!

*Sigh* I finally did this as a 518 feral kitty. I spent approximately seven days in a rage, having nervous tic's, my husband was concerned for my mental health. As soon as I started violently cursing at the computer, he would silently leave the room. At each death, as I got closer to downing this #%$#hole, my heart would start pounding, I'd get tunnel vision, and I would be so sure I was about to kill him... then I would die, and would go through a soul wrenching moment of denial, followed by a period of cursing the WoW gods and the OBVIOUS bug they are not addressing on the Xuen challenge, and finally blind rage where I would get pissed at everyone, Wow developers, Ghostcrawler, guildies, random people in trade, friends on facebook, my husband, my dogs, my cats, even my bird for squawking in the middle of the fight. Once this subsided, my CD on berserk was done, I would do the walk of shame back over to the gong, buff up and start again.
This is what worked for me as feral:
From the start of the fight, he always seems to turn to his left when he does his first AOE cast, so I learned his position, generally I would put myself directly on his right shoulder. This means I could focus immediately once he turned 90 degrees to cast his first attack on hitting him from behind and getting that 250% buff. I used virmins bite right before pull and made sure savage roar was up before pull so I could get all my bleeds up with Savage Roar and the 250% buff. So while i am running and focusing on blobs, my bleeds are just ticking away on boss (who, I do not like so much anymore...I *thought* he was a nice guy...)
I made sure to have health potions on hand, kept rejuvenate up as much as possible, and would hit Savage Roar just to get NS to proc and get my heal.
The AOE spell he casts is bugged, if you are behind and well off to the side of him, but out of the damage area you will still get hit. There were many attempts where I would have had him down if this bug was fixed.
I didnt focus much on interrupting his blood spell, if i could, great, if not, I ran away and healed myself for whatever I could.
When he summons those blob adds, I would make sure I had enough energy to run through them with a thrash and a swipe (make sure Savage Roar is up). Generally three good passes of thrash and swipe, healing at the end of each pass was enough t o get them down. Then I would go right back to boss once I was sure my thrash would tic them down to death. I had tried mass entanglement but his damage would set them free, and if I couldn't cc them or finish them off, they get a speed buff that outruns even my dash. So I gave up on cc'ing and just went back to the thrash/swipe route.
As soon as he went to run to the center of the room to do his mirrors, I would stop casting to allow my energy to run up. I also saved berserk for this phase. First round I would swipe and generally have no problem getting them down, second round of images, I might miss some so I cast Survival Instincts preemptively. Then he called them up a third damn time and I was able to luckily nab the correct image with my last couple of swipes.
Also important to keep Savage Roar up for the WHOLE fight. It's easy to forget with all the running. The Thrash/Swipe trick at my ilevel would only be viable with that buff. Also, make sure when you go to get your Rip up that you are behind him, so your rip ticks away with the 250% buff. I probably died upwards of 30 times. But keep plugging away and you will get it. Its definetly not a DPS race, moreso healing yourself when you can, and bringing down adds first, boss second.
This challenge was ridiculously difficult and not fun, too much luck involved and too many bugs. Hopefully they address it, according to a GM who actually chatted with me in game after complaining multiple times and threatening to quit, they are aware of the bugs and are working on them.
I think it would be in their best interest to post up that up, because I have NEVER been so close to quitting this game.
Good luck!

Ranged Dps Challenge : I wish I could tell you there was some simple secret to finish this; however, all I can really say is thus: It pretty much just comes down to figuring out what he is going to do and when he is going to do it. This is what I did (Just F.Y.I I used Frost armor for the extra haste):
Flask up
Frasco del sol cálido
Get Well Fed
Té con perlas de tapioca
Make sure you have
Bendición celestial
Set pet to passive
Ring the Gong
Stand behind him / pop your cooldowns (Time Warp, Mirror Image, Icy Veins and I used
Medallón de taumaturgo estático
Use Potion of the Jade Serpent
Set pet to attack Black Prince (and leave him on him)
Cast Frost Bomb (just before it explodes tell your pet to freeze, on a normal mob that should hit for like 450k+)
After that just blast him to high hell and back; by the time he spawned the elemental adds I already had him well below half health. Once the elementals pop, have your per freeze them and nuke them down and go back to attacking prince. At some point after that he'll pop his mirror images; run through the middle and AoE them down before they AoE and just melt your face, elementals come back up, kill them, more mirror images pop up, kill them again and then you can go back to killing him. After I dealt with the secound round of adds I nuked him and he died. Granted with all my cooldowns up my frostbolts were hitting for 1million+ every .5 secs.

As affliction warlock I used this macro:
#showtooltip curse of exhaustion
/tar Blood of the Deathborn
/cast soulburn
/cast curse of exhaustion
/tar wrathion
It sorts targeting, and slows the adds, provided you have a soulshard available, and they're grouped up.
I also planted my voidwalker just behind wrathion from where I was standing when starting the fight, and let it have the first strike, so that wrathion would have his back towards me at least for the first bit.
Gates at each side of the room, and demonic circle near the center, for kiting privileges.
Good luck :)

I just did this as a ilvl 506 discipline priest. Here is the best tip that you need to know. When Wrathion goes into the middle and you have to shield him with your body...don't do that. Instead stand off to the side, out of the way of the missiles and pull him to you with Leap of Faith...Works like a charm and you get the whole time to heal and mana up...Once I figured this out it made the whole event very simple.

Okay. Here's my advice for Demonology warlocks. Before getting into it, there's a few things to know.
First, this fight is second only to Kanrethad (the "green fire" boss) in terms of sheer ridiculous deviousness on the part of Blizzard. It is going to test you to the utmost limits as a ranged DPS in general, and as a Demonology warlock specifically.
Second, this is a long, brutal, knock-down fight; you aren't going to "lololol" through it in five seconds, and you may not even finish it in 5.4 if you think to out-gear the fight. The damage Wrathion does is enormous, and constant, and huge-AOE based. You must be a top notch raider in addition to good DPS: you have to constantly move out of stuff (I do mean constantly in the sense that if you stand still for more than 3 seconds, there's a good chance you'll end up failing overall), and you have to understand the fight a lot before you just waltz into it.
Third, you are going to die. No, seriously. Unless you are blessed by the Geek Gods themselves and you find a glitch to exploit, if you try to actually win this fight with straight-up strategy, you are going to die at least a few times trying to get it all right. This is a raid boss. Treat it as such, and don't be upset if it gets you a few times before you get it right.
Got all that? Good. Here's how to win.
Preparation:
Use
for a stronger pet. You could, in theory, use a
Señor del Vacío
, but I strongly, strongly recommend you stick to a
Guardia de cólera
, because of two things. First,
Tormenta de cólera
is vital to tearing up the adds you get during the fight, and second
Lanzamiento de hachas
will help interrupt Wrathion and/or the adds at critical times (normally if you get pushed into a corner and need to buy a few seconds to get mobile). Turn off threat generation on the pet; you won't need it for the tricks you'll be pulling here.
Get at least a half-stack of bandages; you can use them at certain, specific "quiet moments" outlined below. Have a healthstone as well (doesn't need to be glyphed), and you may want to also include some health pots. If you can spare a raid flask, use it, as well as the best Int or mastery food you can get your hands on (like
Guiso de pescado mogu
). You should be sporting top raid enchants and gems all the way. Make sure
is up before starting.
When you go into the room you fight Wrathion in, there are two main areas to consider. The inner room is long at the sides as you come in, with two rounded nooks on either end. Up some stairs, where Yu'lon floats is a nice, huge balcony as well. (Yu'lon will be annoying during this time, constantly floating in the way, making it hard to see between areas and/or targeting anything with the mouse. Be aware of this impediment while fighting.)
Before ringing the gong, set up a
Portal demoníaco
at either end of the long rug in the inner room. Do not put the gateway all the way in either nook; if something goes wrong, you'll be trapped in a corner with large AOE damage coming down on you and/or mobs cornering you. Always, always leave space to move in any direction.
You can use
Círculo demoníaco
at the top of the stairs under Yu'lon; I actually found I didn't need it, but it's a good last-moment way to yank out of AOE about to hit you, sometimes.
Buff up, take a breath, then ring the gong and stand behind Wrathion (i.e. between him and the front door you came in).
Phase 1:
I opened up with the pet, so that aggro immediately went to him, and started with a typical rotation of
Marca del caos
,
Corrupción
, and
. (FYI, I double-tap both DOTs so that they will have the full 150% duration we can get now. You really, really have no time to stand around refreshing much, so giving yourself some extra time to think helps.) This all should take two rotations of Wrathion's 180-degree arc attack, after which he usually seems to start a room-wide attack that drops little meteors on the ground. I stunned him with the pet, and used the time to bring out
Invocar guarda terrorífico
, and pop
(and my trinket at the time); basically pop all the DPS cooldowns now.
By this time, you should have adds. Use the pet AOE and
Mano de Gul'dan
, and any other AOE attacks you can possibly muster against the adds. You may want to talent for
and
Furia de las Sombras
; this will not only help DPS a little faster, but the AOE stun can help keep your pet alive longer while you deal with adds.
While all of this business with the adds is going on, Wrathion will drop a big, stationary AOE that doesn't hurt as much, but still ticks for about 45K a second. It's easy to see it coming: just before it bursts up, there's a faint circle of fire where it's going to land. It is almost always used on you, and it will stay in place until Phase 2 starts, making moving around harder.
Your job during Phase 1 is: refresh DOTs as often as you can, destroy the adds as fast as you can manage, keep moving out of AOE attacks on the ground (and/or use pet stun to stop them once in a while), and hop through the gateway when you can to drop threat and buy time for you to DPS boss or adds more. You can in fact drag the fight up to the balcony, which you need to do after killing the second wave of adds.
After a certain point, Yu'lon will say something about "staying focused on the true threat", and Wrathion will run/jump down to the exact center of the inner room. This is the start of Phase 2.
Phase 2:
Immediately run up to the balcony; under no circumstances is anything else important except popping CDs to survive and/or move faster. During this phase, Wrathion summons a butt-load of weak, 1K health adds. After a few seconds, the adds do a big radius AOE; each add's attack doesn't hurt much, but there's something like 20 adds at a time, so if you don't kill them all, all those little AOEs hurt a lot.
Having said all this... the best way to survive this phase is
not to do a damn thing
. You can run to the outside balcony far enough that the adds in the inner room can't reach you with their AOE attack. So run/teleport up to there, and call back your pet with passive stance. When you get up there, if there are no little Wrathion adds up, bandage yourself if you need to, and/or resummon your pet to replenish its health too. Wait for the ooze adds to respawn, AOE them down as fast as you can, using earlier techniques. If the adds are down and you and your pet have good health, put the pet back on aggressive stance and send it down to fight the little adds (helps keep your Demonic Fury up in case you need to leap, reapply Doom, or AOE even harder).
Phase 2 lasts a long, long time. Be patient, don't get sloppy from wanting to make things go faster.
Wash, Rinse, Repeat:
After a time, phase 2 ends and Wrathion will run all the way up to the balcony super fast to start his normal rotation again. While moving out of the way of this initial attack, go back to your basic rotation (curse & DOTs), and put pet on aggressive (if it wasn't already).
Now you just repeat everything all over again. Use gateway to drop threat and/or move out of AOE attacks. AOE down adds soon as they appear. Keep moving out of Wrathion's attacks.
Biggest advice I have is: be patient. You can win this fight if you just slug it out. It lasted long enough to summon the terrorguard twice (once at beginning, once at end).

Mind Sear down adds.
Leap of Faith Wrathion out of the middle during elemental phase /dance and get mana back.
Repeat if needed.
I used renew, binding heal, flash heal, greater heal, mind sear and shadow word:pain oh and my self heal desperate prayer if needed. Ranged dps that can drop aggro should have an easy time with this until Blizz fixes the glitch.
As previous comments have said... wait until he summons the adds. Then you move to the balcony ASAP and drop aggro. the blood adds will leave you alone the rest of the fight. Stay on the balcony and ignore his mirror image phases completely; heal up during this time. He'll come back to you. DO NOT GO NEAR THE STAIRS. You do not want to reaggro the blood adds.
I had a hard time getting the blood adds to ignore me until I noticed one thing... Get on the balcony leaving the bloods on the main floor BEFORE you drop aggro. So for instance as a mage. I run/blink up to the balcony and THEN greater invisibility. This always properly dropped the adds and they never bothered me at all. But If I invisibled and then went up to the balcony then they reaggroed and followed me making it impossible.

BM hunter with average 506 item level.
It was pretty easy in the end. I used a spirit beast pet for the heal. I just set it to autocast so I could concentrate on the fight itself. I didn't care much about being behind Wrathion, though when I was the difference in damage was very noticable. I just felt it was more important that I avoid his spells and kill the adds. Killing the adds was very important. If there were any up, I was killing them. When they were all down I moved back to Wrathion, usually running around to avoid reign of fire and cone attack. The adds rarely ever hit me, and when they did I would either disengage or they'd be so close to dead that I'd just finish them off. I did need to kill them fast though or they'd get too quick to kite.
The real problem I had was with the mirror image phase. I couldn't figure out how to keep killing enough images to prevent a massive amount of AE damage. After dying to it several times I realized I could just outrange and wait it out on the balcony. Once I did that I finished the challenge the very first try. His adds did come up to find me during that phase, but it didn't matter. I just kited them around up there and killed them. Then waited for Wrathion to come back up.
I had to go through two mirror image phases, likely due to my low item level and the associated lower dps, but the fight was never in question. I did sometimes need to heal my pet, so periodically I tossed a mend out. There's probably a REAL way to pass through the mirror image phase, but I couldn't see it. Multishot couldn't kill enough images and since the mirror images continue to respawn four times (I think), energy became a problem very fast. In the end, cheesing the encounter by avoiding the mirror image phase entirely was a perfectly acceptable option. If someone else had a better strategy for the mirror images, I would be very interested in hearing it.

EDIT: Apparantly the Ranged DPS fight (Yu'lon's Challenge) has been nerfed through a hotfix a few days ago. Both Wrathion's health, as well as the health of the Neltharion's Tear adds has been reduced. (Possibly even halved.) To all ranged DPS that have given up the fight before, it is easier than ever before now!
I just completed this fight as an Elemental Shaman - iLvl 526 equipped. Although I feared the worst, the Ranged DPS fight (Yu'lon) was actually
very easy.
I don't know whether they nerfed the fight an aweful lot or if I outgeared it massively or something, although I suspect it was nerfed.
I did the fight as follows:
- Stand behind Wrathion at the start and pop all cooldowns (Hero - Lifeblood - Potion of the Jade Serpent - Ascendance) before attacking.
- I kept attacking him from behind as much as possible, only moving away to avoid his cone attack.
- I moved over to the balcony to dodge his attacks, I'm uncertain whether or not this changed the fight compared to comments I have read on WoWhead.
- He spawned several fire pools I had to move out from, plus a few rain of fires over the course of the fight.
- He spawned his 'Neltharion's Tear' adds
ONE
time over the course of the fight, AoEd them down easily with Chain Lightning.
- For me, he
DID NOT
split up / mirror imaged.
- I killed him whilst only having to deal with the abovementioned, nothing more.
He had around 17.5M HP in total.

Just finished this as a 516 Assassination Rogue with 510 dual daggers (
Colmillo envenenado de Megaera
max upgraded and
Encantar arma: Son del viento
enchant). All my gear is LFR, Heroic Scenario, and Shadow Pan Assault Valor gear, plus the 4 piece set bonus for Shadow Blades.
The first few attempts were about a month ago with item level 512 with a net result of 17 attempts and 400g repair cost. Moreover, I also followed the advice in some posts to switch to Combat spec.
Reading a few updates about the "nerf" to Neltharion's Tears and a reduction of Wrathion's health (I didn't see any evidence of that - still at 31 million) brought me back to give it another shot. I am also about 1600 August Celestials reputation away from getting
Bendición celestial
; so no 10% Agility boost.
I decided to give it a go in Assassination with
Lanzamiento de shuriken
as the last talent.
As a side-note, it took me 7 attempts and 110g repair cost this time around.
Here is what I did:
1)
Té con perlas de tapioca
2)
Frasco de flores primaverales
3) Start challenge
4) Wait for Wrathion to put on Blindfold
5)
Mordisco de mur
6) Stealth
7) Ambush
The first few attempts, Wrathion's AoE didn't show up with more than a little puff of dirt, so I increased Particle Density, Environmental Detail, and Ground Clutter (ESC > System > Graphics) to "Good". This gave everything a nice clear border of where to stand "behind" him for the 250% bonus to attacks.
I also made a macro to target Wrathion and cast
Ceguera
, so that I could take care of Neltharion's Tears undisturbed.
The first three attempts wiped me out when Wrathion cast his mirror images. I suspect it was just bad luck with not interrupting the pools of boiling fire/blood that he casts.
The next to last attempt I got him to about 15% when the added Neltharion's Tears got me. It was just a matter of getting used to using defensive moves and using
and
Puyazo
at the right time.
So, after the opening sequence for the last attempt, I used
Tempestad carmesí
with full combo points just after Wrathion cast Neltharion's Tears and hit the Blind macro. Sprinted out of range of Wrathion and used
Abanico de cuchillos
and then
Lanzamiento de shuriken
to whittle the Tears down.
At this point I was at full health, hit Vanish and ambushed Warathion, reapplied all dots, recuperate, and stayed behind his shoulder during his AoE. When he summoned other (single) Neltharion's Tears I focused them and they died really quick.
During the mirror image stage I used Sprint, Combat Readiness and Evasion to dodge the new Neltharion's Tears and hit Fan of Knives to kill the images, focusing on the biggest clusters; one FoK per cluster to not waste Energy.
As previously stated, the mirror images gave me the biggest trouble, a combination of low health and not killing the right mirror image to make them go away before their massive cast AoE killed me. The last attempt I found all of them without losing a lot of health and from there, Wrathion just stood still, took a beating, jumped to do his AoE.
Staying behind him at the AoE time and mashing buttons like crazy he went down amidst at least 6 or 7 Neltharion's tears. I am pretty sure I used Readiness or Smoke Bomb hoping like crazy that Wrathion would die.
And he did. One happy Rogue.
So, if you are way better at playing your Rogue than me, which I am sure you are, and you have better gear than me, which I am confident you do, this challenge should be going your way and you ought to be able to proudly don your new cape and await the Siege of Orgrimmar...just remember, us Orc Rogues will be waiting here, too.... =)

White Tiger challenge monk easy mode:
Have a macro ready to Paralysis Wrathion, and have it glyphed for range.
Hammer him as per the Rogue instructions above, interrupt the blood pools, and whenever the blood of Neltharion mobs appear, hit Wrathion with Paralysis.
Kill the mobs, paralyze Wrathion again, and then use Healing Spheres and Expel harm to heal up.
Then beat on Wrathion again. Use spinning Crane kick to get rid of the images, and have it glyphed for speed.
If, at any time you get below 50% health, paralyze Wrathion again, and heal up.
Easy.

Xuen's Challenge
as a
Retribution Paladin
.
Got through it last night after just two attempts, 520ilvl. I started DPSing without blowing my cooldowns as I waited for the blobs to spawn. As they did, I cast Repentance on Wrathion and took care of the blobs one by one. Had specced into Long Arm of the Law so I got close, bursted one down and then moved away, rince and repeat. Then blew all my cooldowns and went straight for him, burning him down to around 50% before the blobs started respawning, then its just rince and repeating + mirror images.
I cannot stress how much Repentance helps when you fight him and the blobs. Always cast it when the blobs are respawning, that way you can focus on only one thing at a time and it goes pretty smoothly if you nail it right.
The only other things you need to worry about are the pools he cast (Which can and should be interrupted whenever possible), rain of fire (Which you can avoid easily) and the Mirror Image phase which requires you to go around and AoE the mirror images or hit the correct one for them to die. I noticed that the correct one is usually highlighted so you can hit him first with a judgement if you see it.
So to summarize:
1) Always attack from the back, whenever possible. 250% damage buff when doing so.
2) Always Repetance Wrathion when the blobs spawn to ease on the pressure on yourself as you take care of them, they die fast with a little burst, you might need to save an offensive cooldown for them, but you might not need it! (Also keep your defensive ones ready if things get nasty.)
3) Always interrupt the pools cast and avoid the rain of fire.
4) Try to go for the highlighted Wrathion on the Mirror Image phase, failing that AoE as many as possible.
5) Bring consumables, they really help! Flask, stat foods and the Celestial Offering coin from the August Celestials quartermaster (Gives you a 10% strength/agility buff when in the Temple of the White Tiger), healing and/or strength potions are also advised.
Hope this helps, happy hunting and enjoy your ilvl 600 capes!

Some pointers I noted as a melee DPS doing the White Tiger Challenge:
- Sometimes Wrathion's arc attack would hit me even when I was waaaay out of it (no lag spikes, good latency, too).
I found the best way to avoid this was to run out of it in the direction of the 'flat' side of the arc (semi-circle) - that is, the opposite direction that Wrathion faces - and then to turn and run back towards him. Although this brought me physically closer to the ground effect, my guess is that it better registers you've left it if you can turn around and come back without touching it.
-Bloods he spawns have pretty low hp (like 250k?), but sometimes if you try and aoe them they wont quite die quick enough, I recommend single target dropping them - or doing it at range if you can.
-Wrathion just finished casting the pool of fire when I killed him, and upon completing the event you get stunned for a few seconds probably for RP or whatever. Anyway, I got stunned in the fire and died. Still got credit though - awarded as soon as Wrathion goes down.
-For fury warriors, the mirror images grant Victory Rush, the bloods do not. Use mirror phase to heal up a little (but make sure you aoe like a baller too, or it'll be for nothing).
-All in all, it's actually pretty quick he drops fast enough with the damage buff from standing behind him. The hardest part for me was not getting pwnt by Arc hitting where it wasn't supposed to. Oh and I screwed up mirror phase a couple of times. But with a few attempts anybody should be able to get through this easy enough.

I tried to do
Chi'ji's challenge (for healers)
as a holy priest since I did not see much guidance from anyone who attempted it in that spec. After trying it, I would highly recommend you
NOT
do this as a holy priest. It is completely worth flying to a city and respec your talents into Disc. Unless you are just up for a difficult challenge, stay holy. I do not think it is impossible to do as holy, but it gets frustrating. The challenge is astronomically easier as a Disc. You might still have some trouble in the beginning just getting used to the fight mechanics. Other than that, the fight is not that bad after the respec into Disc.

In the melee challenge, the by far most frustrating part is the incorrect representation of the hit arc of Crumbling Arc. After doing a bit of testing (and quite a bit of dying), I've come to the conclusion that the real arc is precisely infront of him. The graphic on the ground indicates that it is rotated some 60 degrees or so to his left, but this is incorrect. So look at how he stands, and stand behind him on his left shoulder. Yes, it will look as if you are in the box, but you will not get hit. Conversely, if you dodge this to his right, you can seem to be a long way out of the box, and still get hit.
Other notes: It might be a good idea to kill the tears a bit spread out, rather than all at once. This is because Wrathion resurects them seemingly based on when they die, and this way, you will only have one or two up at any time. They don't hit all that hard.
Your priority is always to avoid the arc and interrupt Blood of the Deathborn. Just dodge the rain.

I was just trying to do that as resto druid. Tried about 4 times and either I died or Wrathion. In the same time other druid was doing that, he/she was doing better and when he/she did that I got my challenge completed too lol... So if someone is having troubles doing that try to find a moment when someone else is doing that too :) maybe it'' work the same way it'd worked with me... Good luck

I completed the Chi-Ji's Challenge (healer) as a resto druid. At first I was struggling as some of the post's here seem to suggest that you need to maintain dps on DW while still healing yourself and Wrathion. Once I decided to simply focus on keeping Wrathion alive things went a lot smoother. I do raid reg modes so my ilvl 526 when attempted this. I'm sure being a higher ilvl helped but imo this challenge isn't so difficult if you just settle in for a longer fight. It is a "healing" challenge after all.
I did have the celestial offering buff as well.
The toughest part for me was when the oozes spawned as this seems to be the same time that DW starts pounding on Wrathion with really hard hits. At the same time you have the 6 or so oozes chasing you and debuffing (druids can dispell it) you. The way I handled this was to make sure that Wrathion had all HoT's I could on him when the oozes spawned (if you aren't a hot healer I'd suggest just making sure he has full health and whatever absorbs you can on him). I then used ursol's vortex to hold them in place (they do hurt quite a bit if you just stand and let them hit you while you kill them) so I could Channel Hurricane on them. It only takes a cpl ticks of it and they all die. Then I get back on Wrathion and get him topped back up. Be aware he'll probably be getting low health by now so you will probably a need a cpl big heals to get him back up. If you get aggro from DW just kite him and heal yourself, he will turn back to Wrathion after a short time.
During phase 2 as stated by Prrumm in an earlier post, placing mushrooms between the attackers and Wrathion will block the missiles so you will only have to block one side yourself:) Just remember not to bloom them:P I'm assuming then that any object would work? Example being a shaman's totems? This is an excellent time to get both yourself and Wrathion back to full health and regen some mana before phase 1 starts again.
I did put Moonfire on DW whenever I could but like I said at the beginning of the post, once I stopped worrying about dps'ing DW everything got a lot easier, it just took a little longer to kill him. Just FOCUS on HEALING! After all, if you are completing this challenge, then that is what your expertise is meant to be used for:P

I just did the Jade Temple Challenge. I was an iLVL519 Fire Mage. I read all the ideas on here. After starting the battle, I got behind him and burned him away. Then I mirror image to confuse him and get the mobs to chase the mirrors.
I went invisible and went to the far end of the balcony. Through combinations of moving, blinking, counterspells I kept alive and pounded Wraithion until he went back down the stairs and mirrored. They did not come up to the balcony and after some time he charged up alone. Then used my blinks and speed movement powers to stay away from the ground effects. And he went down with some nice fire mage crit pounding.
I tried standing on the balcony railing, but that was to tough. Only tried it once.
I had healing potions, lock rock and bandage to heal me. I learned more each time I tried, but a combination off all the posters ideas as I said above worked for me. After about 6 or 7 tries I got him down.
5.4 is supposed to hit in a few days and I wanted to get this done before hand. The whole legendary grind is a bit extreme but it is a must do, at least on one toon for the story.

2 shot it as a 508 destruction warlock.
I dpsed him for a bit from behind till he was about 70%. I then went to the balcony where bloods started chasing me. They didn't have much HP so I just killed them and then resumed trying to dps wrathion from behind. Shadowfury stuns them and aoe conflagrate slows them, plus you get plenty of embers from rain of fire for ember taps if they manage to hit you. Sac+soul link+bulwark = huge embertaps in case you mess up or suck.
He then went back to the main room to summon mirror images but they didn't bother me. After a while Wrathion ran back up to me and I finished him.
In total 2 sets of bloods spawned for me and I killed them without much trouble. Honestly this was a cakewalk compared to the green fire boss.

So, I just finished the melee dps challenge in the Temple of the White Tiger. I did my homework beforehand - reading posts here and watching a few videos on YouTube. I was a 519 combat rogue and thought I'd share some tips and tactics that helped me.
The first two or three attempts were spent just figuring out the mechanics. I was fully flasked and fooded and used
Tambores de los reyes olvidados
and
Bendición celestial
for the agility bonuses. Talents and glyphs I left as they were, but ended up tweaking them later.
As soon as Wrathion went active, I Cheap Shotted him and popped Revealing Strike, Adrenaline Rush, and Shadow Blades burning him as fast as I could. I did a 5 combo Kidney Shot and continued to burn him from behind. That's about all the major damage I could muster for the first few times I tried. When he started his frontal arc attack, I tried to figure out where I could stand without getting hit, which actually was pretty easy. If I ever got caught out of position, I used Feint to mitigate the damage. The problems started when the adds started coming and I resorted to kiting to stay alive because they do hit pretty hard, especially against a squishy rogue. By the time I took down the adds, Wrathion's mirror image phase started and I was basically in survival mode, popping defensive CDs and kiting. This, obviously, didn't work well and I needed to figure out a new strat.
What worked? Didn't use Shurikens (and kiting with them) and kept Anticipation as my last Talent. Combat Readiness, Leeching Poison, Cloak and Dagger, and Prey on the Weak rounded them out. I also re-glyphed to Cloak of Shadows for the damage reduction, Evasion for the damage avoidance, and Blade Flurry simply because I used this with Killing Spree for the first set of adds, which burned them down real quick. Also could have used Recuperate for the extra 0.5% but that was in my back pocket if this setup wasn't working.
Same strat to start and try to maximize dps while minimizing damage taken. It's a very busy fight and his frontal attack is huge. I actually ended up taking a long time to get him, but as I said, once the mechanics were figured out I just took my time, stayed alive, and burned him as much as I could.
- Kept Recuperate up as much as possible, but don't waste combo points if it's already up
- I don't think I used Slice 'n Dice at all as it seemed like I was always using CPs for other abilities
- Burned the first set of adds as fast as possible. I had the most success with Killing Spree and Blade Flurry active. Watch out, however, as you may get caught in Wrathion's frontal attack during this. Be prepared to move fast or Feint to minimize damage if you're caught in it.
- Interrupts are must, but use them carefully. If too many pools form it makes running around and out of his frontal attack tricky. Pools do 50K damage (per second I think) if you're caught in one. The worst was when I HAD to interrupt him and had an opportunity to do so, but my abilities were on cooldown because I had wasted them earlier.
- Used Fan of Knives when the mirror images formed. I tried to interrupt him before that phase, with limited success. He casts this three times and they mirrors are one-shotted with FoK so I ran in a circle with Sprint and cleared them out pretty easily. If they pop, the damage they do is pretty much fatal.
- I was kiting the second set of adds during the mirror phase, also with FoK. Basically, FoK was my best friend for adds. But at the same time, you can't burn Wrathion and the adds with FoK, so I switched to Blade Flurry and regular attacks with defensive CDs to get rid of the adds. Defensive CDs were Evasion and Cloak of Shadow and Combat Readiness. Those all helped a lot as the most damage I seemed to take were from the adds.
- If I could burn the adds and fight Wrathion one-on-one, it was actually quite easy. During his frontal attack, he's easy to get behind and burn him a bit at a time. Again, Kidney Shots helped but I essentially threw everything I had at him to keep my health up and dps him when I could since dps on him was difficult when adds were up. SS +Evisc, Shiv, Rupture, KS, Kick, etc. and of course, any other CDs I had available, especially Adrenaline Rush and Shadow Blades. I popped Vanish once for an extra Cheap Shot and used Premeditation once to reset my sprint for the mirrors and Evasion for the adds.
Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining the fight, and to be honest, I did it so many times (probably about 12) and they all started blending together. All I know is I had to stay alive but not waste my time kiting. You have to get those adds down so you can focus on Wrathion. The 250% damage you do from behind is huge. I think I had to do the mirrors twice, both times I fanned them down with minimal damage, and it seemed like the adds were always up (or at least one or two) and when I had a chance and my health was decent, I made sure to get rid of them. If my health got low, I made sure my Recuperate was up, Shiv'ed when I could, and used a health potion once.

Ranged DPS - Temple of the Jade Serpent
I kept reading up on other people's comments, trying different methods and this is what worked for me (523 Frost Mage - August 27, 2013 - Patch 5.3)
*Make note, this is a completely mechanics based fight, which is easy once you understand them, so don't give up if you fail a few times
Hit the gong and stand behind Wrathion
Frost Armor on
Summon Water Elemental -
You will need to be able to summon it often so keep on hot bar
Cast Arcane Intellect
Drink Pear Milk Tea
Drink Flask of the Warm Sun
Use Drums of Forgotten Kings
Begin by using Ice Barrier -
allow it to get down to around 40 seconds or closer
Use Invocation
(I have Glyph of Evocation, which helps way more than you know as you will see)
Right before you attack drink Potion of the Jade Serpent
Activate Icy Veins
(again I have glyph of Icy Veins)
Use Nether Tempest
Use Frozen Orb
Then attack away with Frostbolt w/ all procs as they become available
Blink will be truly utilized in this fight as you will need to get out of the way of his ground attack
Make sure you remain behind him
Adds will spawn
Use Mirror Image and frozen orb (if up)
Cast Time Warp
Move up to the balcony use frost nova to slow the adds down and kill them
(they die fast, but respawn eventually)
Once on the balcony (you will repeat this step as many times as need) use Invocation w/ glyph and restore your health to 100%
Do NOT worry about his mirrored image phase, don't even attack them, instead focus on adds and restoring your health
Keep the adds dead, stay behind Wrathion and nuke
At this point use CD's as the become available, making sure to keep you Water Elemental up
Ice Barrier, Frost Orb and invocation will be your main sustainability spells.
It took me about 5-6x before I downed him simply to learn the mechanics and when to cast what spells, so don't get discouraged if you die time after time. Just take a breather away from the computer come back and more than anything else have fun with it or else it can be increasingly difficult.

IL 524BM. This is a very easy quest if you do the following:
1. Go to the balcony and practice running to the rail step with a jump to the step then a STEP to the top of the rail. Practice this until you are sure you can repeat it easily.
2. Pet on aggro.
3.Ring gong and engage Wraith. Stay behind him and dps as much as you can.
4. IMPORTANT: When blobs come out AOE them to get aggro on pet. Immediately run to balcony jump to step and step to rail. FEIGN DEATH immediately and stay dead.
5. left click one of the blobs- do not attack stay dead. You will see a little counter underneath his portrait. Watch the counter as it slowly moves from 1-100. STAY DEAD this will take about 5 minutes. After the counter reaches 100 it will reset. STAY DEAD.
6. When the blobs disappear, heal yourself up and summon pet who is dead. STAY in the spot on balcony if you go anywhere near the steps blobs will re-spawn. From this position all you have to do is kill Wraith. If you did it correctly your pet should be by the rail where you summoned him and you wont even get any aoe from Wraith he is too busy fighting your pet.
This way is so easy it is automatic. You will not have to do anything on rail except heal with bandages from time to time as Wraith's fir damage hits you- only does about 12% and you can easily bandage out. Nothing can attack you while you are on rail until you hit Wraith when he comes up after you revive your pet. Good luck

Finished Chi-ji's healer challenge as 517 Holy Priest. It needed a few tries to understand the spell cycle. A few points to remember:
1. SERENITY: This is just like solo tank healing, so go Serenity. Always keep it on Wrathion. You can use it on yourself if you are taking a beating by Deathwing, but use it wisely.
2. PRAYER OF MENDING: All times on Wrathion. Glyph of Prayer of mending may help. I had it.
3. MANA SAVING: Use Inner Will, not Inner Fire. When DW is after you, Wrathion is not taking damage. So do not waste healing. You can keep PoM and/or Renew on him.
4. MISSILES: When they come, block one side, and keep healing Wrathion. Serenity, PoM, Greater Heal, Flash Heal, Renew.
5. TRINKETS: Use on CD. Use wisely. Timing matters.
6. MINDBENDER: Use on CD. Again, timing matters, so use wisely. Do not use it on adds. Only on DW.
7. DIVINE STAR: Less mana, fast cd, deals damage twice. Forget Halo/Cascade. Align yourself with adds, Wrathion and DW, and fire! One shot adds, damage to DW, healing to Wrathion.
8. ATTACK DEATHWING: Whenever Wrathion is full health, keep PoM on him and cast Holy Fire and/or SW: Pain on DW. DoTs are useful.
8. FOOD AND FLASK: Don't forget these. Steamed Crab Surprise and Flask of Falling Leaves.
9. CELESTIAL BLESSING: May come useful.
10. GLYPH: I had glyphs of PoM and Renew. Use whichever you want.
GOOD LUCK! The blessing of the Red Crane is with you!

Just did Xuen's challenge as a ilevel 510 combat rogue. Took me about a dozen tries but only used flask of spring blossoms and healing potions. The key was to make sure that I killed the tears 1 or 2 at a time but still kill them quickly. One of the biggest problems I had was getting to the image phase and having all the tears up at the same time. When I only had 1 or 2 on me I had no problem getting past the image phase. I used no stuns and just used kick to interrupt his his annoying ground aoe spell. the rest I just avoided. Used evasion and combat readiness on the first batch of tears and after that just killed them as they came 1 or 2 at a time.

Fire Mage, LFR gear only.
It is, still, not easy, however there are certain measures to take the egde out of the problem.
Keep clear of the adds. Kill them close to the exit, run to the balcony and use
Invisibilidad
. For the rest of the fight: Keep clear of the stairs; the blood will rise again but don't join in again. This hint has been mentioned several times already and is worth tons of cookies.
Know the encounter:
Furorion casting arcs - move (just) behind him. You do not need 40 yards distance - he will close in for the next arc, anyway.
Furorion casting blood - make use of
,
Aliento de dragón
,
(if it comes in with some damage), and of course
Contrahechizo
. Keep your floor tidy.
Don't fear the rain of fire (don't waste interrupts). Can be dodged easily.
Play it safe and ensure you have access to some healing.
is as obvious as asking your local
Piedra de salud
dealer for assistance.
If that is not enough, get the
Nenúfar mustio
from
Sele'na
!
(
feels a little bit like cheating; the symbiosis buff will not vanish if you fail unexpectedly)
Knowing this, item level is
not an issue
in this fight.

Windwalker Monk easy mode addendum: ok so these few tips for windwalkers were definitely a big help for me to try to get a personal strat that would work for me. My Gear ilvl was 512. It is my ALT. So it was not 'well geared,' nor am I 'my best' on my monk (I am hunter.). I just wanted to add a few tips that helped me. I have a 500sh MW OS, and being I did the ranged challenge on my main (oh-mi-gahd it is SO much harder), I wanted to 'play' with the healing challenge. The reason I am including this is that I knew that I would more than likely not complete the healing challenge, so I did not rush in my attempt, nor panic, nor feel like I HAVE TO DO THIS NOW! That 'mind set' however got me very close to actually completing the healing challenge. I decided to carry that 'no big deal, take it slow' attitude into the melee challenge. I completed it on my 3rd attempt. Yet when I check my recount, it was a 12+ min long encounter, and actually FUN (the ranged I was a nervous wreck and it was not fun b/c of it)
things to keep in mind.
- There is no end unless you die or wrathion does. You do not have to bust out every CD, pot, ninja move etc to finish this. JUST STAY ALIVE
- Paralysis is your best friend! it has a very short CD, but it will snag wrathion still for a LONG time. Macro it, use it as much as you can.
- Save 3 chi and your Fist of Fury for the blood spawns (they are stunable and FoF while they are grouped up will get their health down significantly, get 1 tiger paw in for tiger power) Do not even use it on wrathion, just always save it for them. When Wrathion summons them, paralyze him and get some separation between wrath and you before using fist of fury (and then your glyphed spinning crane kick) on the blood spawns (you want the distance between you to not accidentally hit him with fist or spinning crane and knock him out of paralysis. Just kite spinning and finish them off
- Remember to be careful with your Chi Wave, it does help with staying alive, but just get in your head after using Paralysis, stay away from chi wave, it will take wrath out of paralysis early.
- Wrath should stay paralyzed PLENTY of time to drop healing spheres. Get topped off take a breather, go back to bashing wrath.
- Try to interrupt his Blood of the Deathborn, just hit it when you see the orange circle start under you. If you do not get it off, just take your DMG tick and roll/transcend out, hit paralysis (it will most likely be up) and drop healing spheres again
- The 180 crumbling arc you just need to move behind his opposite shoulder, you will get that down
- Just stay alive, if you are alive and are getting the paralysis and then the blood spawns and heal back up done, you are winning. if you do not panic and keep going you will get it done.
- When he does his mirror image just spin crane thru that. but be ready for it to come back TWO more times back to back, get them down, get back to Wrath, get back into the above routine.
When I was finally done, I realized I forgot to even use Invoke Xuen, Dampen Harm, Fortify Brew, and Touch of Karma. I just was in the above groove and knew it would have to end sometime I just kept at it. 12+min, i did just 65k DPS, and I healed almost 4 mil with my healing spheres. My DMG taken was so insane I can not remember all the numbers
One other thing I noticed helped me when I was playing around with the healing challenge, that when I had music going in my headset, I did much better. I had it blasting in the melee one as well and it helped me. I think the music helps you focus more on just the visual cues and have a faster/better reaction rather than get fluffed up by the game sounds of the encounter. Between Xuens Morgan Freeman Star Wars voice and Wrathion, it can fluster you.
My main advice, do not be concerned with a full on kick his arse fast attack. Just get the hits in between staying alive and handling his abilities. And anytime you feel like you are about to panic, remember PARALYSIS. You can basically take a nap after using it. YOU GOT THIS WW MONK!

For healing priests (specifically discipline):
I did this as a ilvl 515 Disc Priest against Chi-Ji's challenge.
Specific talents that I felt made this fight easier:
Angelic Feather
Solace and Insanity
Halo
Glyph of Penance
This fight took me three attempts; the first I made the mistake of thinking I could just use Prayer of Mending/Power Word: Shield/Atonement to keep Wrathion up. I quickly learned that I couldn't and Wrathion doesn't keep very good threat
at all
. The second attempt, I was about 50% before I fat fingered Leap of Faith at the wrong time on accident.
Here's how it went down, and why I think as a disc priest your iLvl and skill is largely irrelevant. The fight is pretty trivial once you get the jist of it.
Heal via atonement. I never once cast flash/greater/binding/prayer of healing at all. You will quickly gain agro and this is a good thing. Once you do, shield yourself and kite. Use Angelic Feathers to distance yourself and jump/spin cast Penance and PW:Solace. When you lose agro or he stops, do your regular atonement (ie Smite) attacks. You
want
agro on this fight as it means that his damage to Wrathion is extremely negligible and because you're using Angelic Feathers, he shouldn't do a whole lot of damage to you, either (and any damage done is quickly healed.)
When adds are spawned, gain distance from them (easy to do) and cast Halo. Halo should be saved for this situation. If you get the right distance, Halo will one-shot them all.
Once Wrathion is put into the middle of the room and you're supposed to block the missiles, simply cast Leap of Faith on him. Heal him up and hang out until the fight resumes.
Very easy fight once you get the kiting/adds/Leap of Faith thing down.

I completed the healing challenge and found that provided you keep the debuff dispelled from yourself and you are able to generate a little dps to kill the oozes then the fight gets a lot easier.
Having dot on Deathwing means that your dps buff from healing Wrathion is triggered on each tick which provides a nice bit of passive dps.
Here is my successful attempt on my Resto Shaman:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXaAvhK96N4
I made sure that Wrathion was my focus target for Vuhdo and just have Deathwing as my primary target.
Took about 6 attempts to get my Sh*t together.

Doing the healer challenge I kept getting a really annoying glitch where Deathwing would sometimes respawn invisible after the elementals phase; he'd be fighting Wrathion but I could neither see nor target him (not very helpful as a priest with mana issues who needs to use Mindbender!)
If anyone else gets this bug, I found using Psychic Scream while standing on Wrathion (where I expected Deathwing to be) would make him partially visible; most of his model still missing but at least now targettable. It may well be that aoe damage spells could have the same effect, worth trying anyway!

As a rogue, i really recommend going combat on this one. (Melee challenge)
I had major issues being in assassination spec.. but then i just switched to combat,
dps'd from behind for the dps buff, turned on blade furry when the adds popped (fan of knives on wrathions multiple selfs) and turned it off once they were dead and etc. It went ALOT easier. I also used recuperate quite alot and it does help.
Evasion too ofc :)

For those of you trying to figure out why Wrathion is not at Mason's Folley after only talking to just one Celestial and completing just one of the challenges, might want to go to all the temples and talk to all the celestials first. I kept running back between The Tavern in the Mists and Temple of the White Tiger trying to talk to Wrathion trying to get to the next part of the questline and could not for the life of me figure out why I couldn't complete it lol...

Finally, in the day of the release of the new patch, I was able to obtain the last
Piedra rúnica de los titanes
, so I could tackle this. I decided to try Nuizao, being a Guardian Druid.
After 20+ attempts, in which I survived most of the time, I realized some things.
Testarazo
and
Bramido
are your friends. Keep them near, you will be using them all the fight. Also, if you want, spect into
Azote poderoso
. It buys you a little breath time.
The most difficult part (for me at least) was protecting Wrathion against the elementals. Be sure to position yourself right, usually the missiles went through me.
Use wisely your companion. Pick Snow Blossom if you can, but, if you are extremelly unlucky as me, and you got the two rogues and the hunter, pick Taoshi. After I choose her, the DPS was a lot better.
Good luck to all of you!

520 ilvl destro lock.
literally just 3 shot it.
start behind wrathion. VW pet tanking him, set portal to balcony, rain of fire and pop doomguard at start.
just stay behind him, aoe the adds (they are really easy to kill, no need to kite, just use your stun and aoe), get to balcony for mirror phase, stay up there till its over. if pet dies, resummon.
repeat till he dies.
it was literally that easy.

How does Wrathion have 31m health points when you're trying to kill him, but only 1.2m when you're trying to defend him? It doesn't make any sense! Also, the "tanking" challenge is false; in a normal tanking situation, you have a healer to help and dps to kill. A tank can't do all three. And like most other chicken#$%^ mobs in WoW, there's too much running around and not enough fighting.

When I tried the Yu'lon challenge as a frost mage with a lot of lag and DC issues and a 530 ilvl, there were 15 days between the last successful attempts posted and my attempts, so the tips and tricks that were posted had apparently been "fixed" by Blizzard. I was able to burst Wrathion down to about 9.5 million hp but kept dying to the 4 or 5 blobs following me around (they were able to cast their speed boost far more often than I was able to cast frost nova and blink). Hopping up on the railing behind Yu'lon made the blobs evade everything I threw at them, and falling off the opposite side of the railing resulted in a reset, although I didn't fall off the ledge, so it's possible that Blizz extended the floor so people wouldn't die from falling off (I read a few posts about dying due to fall damage).
I was finally able to complete the challenge by switching to fire spec, using glyph of combustion, glyph of inferno blast, glyph of evocation, flask of the warm sun, runescroll of fortitude (the level 90 version) mogu fish stew and a warlock cookie (seems like overkill, lol, but with my lag spikes, I needed everything I could get my hands on). When Yu'lon talked about the elementals (I assume she meant the blobs) said something like they were not permanently dead and to use my time wisely, I cast evocation while standing on the balcony railing to restore 10% of my health per channeling. I think the best decision I made was using nether tempest as my level 75 talent and casting it on all of the blobs while blinking and running away. They basically killed themselves with the AoE, lol. On my successful attempt, I did not run around through Wrathion's mirror images casting my arcane explosion, but stood on the balcony railing and waited for them to disappear while casting evocation to regain health.
One good thing about falling off the railing onto the lip of the balcony is that you can mount up on a repair mount, and then a flying mount to get back in to the challenge area, but don't forget, that does reset the encounter.

ok, I must be doing something wrong, I cannot seem to beat the tank challenge as a prot pally, I get the full buffs (priest, druid/kings, might, and warlock stones), I have a Shado-Pan companion (tried Taoshi, Protector Yi, Voice of Chao, even soft-belly guy). I cannot seem to kill Deathwing and keep Wrathion alive, while keeping myself alive. Anyone have helpful suggestions, and please no noob comments or insults, I am truly stumped. TY

Completed healer's challenge (Chi-ji) as a
holy paladin
, item level 515. For my 3rd and succesfull 4th try I choosed Seal of Truth instead of Seal of Insight, so I was able to dps Deathwing with Judgement, leaving Censure effect on him, which gave me that nice buff. I was also able to kite him thanks to movement speed from Pursuite of Justice talent point, so Wrathion didn't take so much dmg and I could easily heal us both up. When red oozes spawned, killed them with Holy Prism talent spell on one shot. Stunning Deathwing as often as possible also helped a lot. During second phase I just healed Wrathion through, used Sacred Shield. Guess Hand of Protection would have helped too. Don't forget to dispel debuff on yourself (it didn't show up on my Healbot). To see Wrathion in Healbot, set him as a focus target and make sure to set Healbot to display your focus.
Hope this helps to someone, good luck!

This was pretty easy for my lock. I didn't really prepare.
I picked up
Bendición celestial
.
Went in as a 525 Destro. VW up and forgot to use terrorguard.
Stayed behind, spammed some burns and chaos bolts... Adds up I shadowfuried, then howl of terror if they got too close... Burned Wrathion again and done.
Took one try but my health was about 5% and didn't think I was going to make it.

Did this just now as a 530 feral druid on my first try.
Had a
Bendición celestial
sitting in my bank, and was buffed with
Frasco de flores primaverales
(and MoTW of course).
Took Mass Entanglement, Force of Nature, and Dream of Cenarius as my talents.
Very straightforward fight, avoid his
Arco desmoronado
, stay behind him at all times to get
Punto ciego
.
Pop Tiger's Fury and Berserk when the
Lágrimas de Neltharion
are up and nuke them down. If you have trouble with these then pop Mass Entanglement/FoN to get some breathing space.
I almost died on his mirror images though, I panicked and just randomly swiped at whatever was there instead of targetting the most clustered group of images which would've been much more efficient. May want to save Barkskin and Survival Instincts for this stage, this was the only thing that really hit me hard.
Skull bash his
Sangre de los nacidos de la muerte
so that the ground isn't littered with void zones. His
Reino del Fuego
is very easy to avoid, you'll see shadows on the ground where the fireballs hit.
Good luck!

Protection Warriors; I have some tips for you if you're pulling your hair out like I was.
I must have tried this 30 times before I got a strat that worked. My main problem at first was staying alive, then it was keeping Wrathion alive, then it was doing enough DPS to kill Deathwing. So I am going to break this down by those three categories.
1. Staying alive:
Talent into Second Wind. This is critical.
Talent into Storm Bolt for stunning DW.
Talent into Shockwave for stunning DW and adds.
Keep Deathwing Stunned as much as possible.
Get a stack of Master Healing Potions - use when low on health.
Use Rallying Cry / Last Stand when needed
Use Demoralizing Banner when needed
Get Celestial Offering from Sage Whiteheart to raise stamina
Get out of melee range to drop fire stacks when they get too high
Group with a Warlock beforehand to get Cookies if you can
I had the two piece T15 bonus too, if you can get that it really helps
2. Keeping Wrathion up
Get First Aid up to 600, get some Heavy Windool bandages
Make a macro:
"/tar Wrathion
/use Heavy Windwool Bandage"
Use Macro when Wrathion needs heals
Interrupt all Blood of Deathborn from Deathwing - this is critical
Be sure to taunt DW immediately when he focuses Wrathion
Kite DW around during AOE
Keep Thunderclap reserved to collect adds - keep agro off Wrathion
For "Missle phase":
Use Mocking Banner to block one elemental's missles.
Use "Stack of Stone Blocks" to block another elemental (obtained from the Shado-Pan Quartermaster
Block the two other missle rows with your body - if you have adds on you, position them so they block another row
3. Getting DPS up to kill DW in time
Use Flask of Winter's Bite
Eat +str food
Get a companion from Shado-Pan dailies (i used Fei Li the Fire Mage)
Farm a Pi'Jiu Brew from Spectral Monks on Timelss Isle (use just before pulling DW for a Spectral Monk to fight with you). Brewmaster or Windwalker are best.
For the missle phase these two companions help block missles too.
Use Battle Shout
Throw Skull Banner at pull
Use some DPS gear if you can. I had a weapon with Dancing Steel and a DPS trinket.
Pre-pot with Potion of Mogu Power.
Its a lot to do, but it seems we Warriors need to pull out all the tricks to get this one down.
And I know some of us didn't have problems getting the kill, but this guide is intended for those that are struggling.
Hope it helps!

Just finished this on my 516 alt fury warrior after many frustrating attempts. I'm not great at melee, my main is a hunter, but when when I finally figured out how to do it it was easy.
I used second wind and Disrupting shout, but the key for me was Bladestorm which I spec'd after about 15 failed attempt with dragon roar.
Pop everything offensive CD the first time he turns his back to for that cleave thing. Stay on top of him, interrupt the aoe he casts. Then when the bloods come out blade storm with a defensive cd if you need to, but stay on top of him.
I had a tricky time with the mirrors, making sure having enough rage to whirl or thunder clap, but the great thing is when you kill them you can victory rush to build your health back between each wave of them.
Good luck, I sure needed it.

Just did the tank one as a 523 Prot warrior - I found using Lao-Chiln the Iron Belly to me a good partner. He is a WW monk and does stuns helped out a lot, between me and him Deathwing stayed locked down lot.
For the missile part I just around round and blocked them. For the adds simple Thunderclap and than I let them stay on me for rage and Veg boost.

It was hard to find much information about how to do this as an Enhancement Shaman, so I decided to post my successful strategy. Note: I was ilvl 525-ish, but still using a raid finder weapon in my offhand when I completed this fight.
After close to 20 fails on Saturday (kiting adds/trying to do AoE on them, etc), I decided to rethink and start fresh on a Sunday and completed it in one try. Here's what I did:
Your goal is to burst to get Wrathion's health down as much as possible before he calls on any adds. Optimize everything you can for burst at the beginning of the fight and make sure to take healing/damage reduction talents and not waste them until you need them. And, I hope it goes without saying, make sure you are gemmed and enchanted.
Talents:
Astral Shift/Call of the Elements
Ancestral Guidance
EM/PE
Glyphs:
Fire Elemental
Feral Spirit
Buff up as much as possible at the beginning - 300 agi food, pre-pot, have Celestial Blessings in your bank/bag.
Pop heroism at the start of the fight.
Interrupt him to prevent the ring of fire as often as possible, and continue to give it
EVERYTHING
you've got. He does no melee attack so just take a couple of steps
through
him and turn around every time he casts the ground effect. If you run away, it takes away from pure dps time. When the blobs appear, Astral Shift and Ancestral Guidance and Sprit Wolves (maybe even one of the healing totems if you need it). Don't try to AOE or do anything to the blobs - stay on Wrathion and finish him off. Refresh healing totem with CotE, if needed. The goal here is to
NOT
let mirror images appear.
If you have enough juice to finish him off before the first mirror images, you can do this fight in one go.

Has this quest for melee DPS been nerfed on 5.4 or something?
Or do WW monks have an easy time with this?
I switched to WW just to see how the MDPS challenge was and found it quite easy. I was even using my brewmaster gear, which means 15% exp and full crit, so not enough haste.

529 Arcane Mage:
Had
Bendición celestial
for +10% intellect. Used
Frasco del sol cálido
, and are something that also increases intellect by 275.
Started off behind him so I had
Punto ciego
. Popped
Barrera de hielo
,
Reflejo exacto
,
Poder Arcano
, and
Distorsión temporal
in that order. and hit him hard with Arcane Blast until I had 4 stacks, then hit Arcane Barrage.
Always try to be behind him so you have
Punto ciego
. The usual "don't stand in anything" applies. When the blobs come out, kite them and use Arcane Explosion, but avoid anything on the ground.
I beat him down pretty quick. It didn't get to the point where he creates multiple clones of himself. But if you do get to that point, Arcane Explosion through them and kill them all.
At all times, keep Wrathion targeted, when you can't pewpew him because you're killing blobs or his clones, or running...keep Nether Tempest up so there is Damage being done to him at all times.

This is honestly the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Not only is it ridiculously hard on its own, but I cannot find a single strategy for Boomkins. The blobs come out and I can't AoE them down cause I have to get away from Wrathion, and if the blobs are up for only a few seconds they begin gaining their buff so they become unbeatable. And I can't just kite them because their buff ends up allowing them to catch up or leave me unable to DPS Wrath.

As an ilvl534 boomkin I was finding this the hardest thing to do of his quest line but I did finally manage to get past it. This is for Yu'lon the Jade Serpent. The strategy for boomkins is as follows:
1) Find a mage you can party with (yes it is a solo fight) & meet up with your mage partner at the arboretum (where the Cloud Serpents are at) near the temple. Once you are together use Symbiosis on the mage & you will gain the buff Mirror Image. Also the mage needs to give you the Arcane buff as well. Also don't let your mage leave the party as you need them to stay to keep the Symbiosis up but they can stay at the arboretum & don't have to travel to the temple with you unless they want to.
2) Get a Flask of the Sun as it is an intell buff that will be needed. You will also need the talents of Force of Nature (grants treants to help with dps), Dream of Cenarius (increases the healing power of Healing touch), Mass Entanglement (helps with adds), & Cenarion Ward (another healing effect). These may not be your normal talents but for this fight they help tremendously. Don't forget the Celestial Offering as well as that is an additional buff of intell.
3) Engage Wraithon. Start out by hitting him from behind a couple of times & using Force of Nature. When he spawns adds first time use Mirror Image as this will buy you time to get up top & heal yourself some. Try to use Force of Nature when you can as the dps helps & they also root a single target. The adds were the hardest part of this challenge. One Wraithon does his split stay up top by the dragon & dps down the adds with the help of your treants & stay up top till Wraithon's split has been completed. Use Mirror Image when it is off cool down, use Mass Entanglement on adds when you can & target boss while they are entangled.
It took me 2 tries this way verus dying over 75 times with no Mirror Image & over 2k worth of repairs. It make take you a time or 2 to master Wraithon with this method as I'm not very clear or concise about what I did (I'm not much of a teacher sorry) but with the ideas I have here it should make it so much easier on you.
***I'm also sorry I don't have all the links to the different things but I just don't really know how to link them in here.

Did the melee/dps version on my frost DK the other day. Failed a LOT of times but no way was this going to be another 'sha and anvils' scenario and i kept at it until finally i completed it.
Id read a lot on here and watched youtube vids to get the grasp of what was going on and my main problem was usually the bit where he splits. That usually finished me off, as sometimes i just had nothing left to hit them with before they 'exploded' - i could avoid everything else and would dps him from behind whenever i could, kite the blobs and run about as much as possible mainly trying to stay alive.
I also found using my self heals from behind him topped me up pretty good, so it was just a case of managing his split thing effectively every time he did it, and he seemed to do it a lot on the attempt when i finally beat him. But each time i tried to make sure i had some AOE ability ready to go and that seemed to do the trick.
Death grip, and strangulate helped to buy me time and also to get behind him.
Once i had him down to like 15% or something i just threw caution to the wind and hit him with all i had, saved my AMD for the end and my ghoul and finally finally i did it :-). I think my flask of winters bite had run out at this point, although i did have the temple buff thing from the August Celestials.
I think i was ilvl 521 when i completed it, and my gear was by no means fantastic, LFR mainly.
4 months work and the cloak is now mine :-)

Simple Easymode for Ret Paladins or anyone who can CC.
It took me 3 tries at Xuen. The first one I just leeroy'ed it and died to mirror images. The second one, I tried cc'ing him every once in a while and still died to mirror images. The third try, I decided to follow one of the tenets of true strength - PATIENCE.
Here's what you need to know:
Start the fight, the moment he starts summoning blobs, CC him with Repentance. Kill the blobs, one at a time. Kite them around the room. I specced into Long Arm of the Law for the Judgment speed boost to get away from the blobs. It takes longer, but every cooldown you get, use Word of Glory (or Eternal Flame) while killing blobs to heal yourself. Every once in
