This looks like a realy cool talent! I think im going to go with it :P Its so awesome that mages are finnaly not the only class who can blink, (mages are overpowered in cata because of it). To blink then stealth in one ability is awesome!

Just to Clarify on this ability, is DOES work exactly like blink, plus stealthing you as well

However this stealth does not work like a rogue's Vanish, you will stealth, but any mobs that were attacking you, will continue to do so

I did this test solo, so i am unable to confirm whether it doesnt affect your threat at all, or if it functions similar to the NE's Shadowmeld, in that it will drop you to the bottom of the threat table until you exit stealth

What happens if you are affected by faerie fire? Does it prevent the spell from being used entirely or does the blink part still work?

Although this does not work like a Rogue's Vanish. It does mean you can get another opener in if you use it before you're brought back outta Prowl, assuming you don't have any dots on you.

I love the reference to Dungeons&Dragons. To clarify there is a rather awesome beast that you can fight, and it teleports, its self and you if the fight goes badly. Also the fact that the displacer beast is cat-like in nature -think of an underweight panther with tentacles, and the ability to teleport- makes this even better. Just as long as it's not a tarrasque...

If you're carrying someone while blinking, he will blink with you. Checked with Travel Form and Obsidian Nightwing on BG.

Too good for PvP!

You can Pounce with this while in combat to peel someone off your partner.

Get out of tight situations where you are focused as kill target.

Restealth when hunters Flare gets you.

Use Typhoon then restealth back to find hidden enemies in arena and not get found yourself.

Another useful tip when using this ability to vanish in PvP is to use symbiosis on a paladin to gain their Divine Shield and use it before activating Displacer Beast. All DoTs are cleared and you can safely escape.

As of 5.2, I think I have seen druids using this while holding the flag in Warsong Gulch. It would make sense since there is no longer a stealth component.

Can druids anyone confirm?

Edit: Tried it myself on the PTR and it does work. Could prove useful for flag carrying.

As of Patch 5.2.0, Displacer Beast no longer makes the user Prowl. It simple teleports you forward, activates Cat Form with a +50% speed boost for 4 secs.

Note that this skill takes you out of Prowl, and the 50% speed boost does not stack with Dash.

So as of 5.3 to fully clarify the strength of this talent even now it DOES NOT stealth you in anway, as previously said it's effectively a blink, which means you can use it to escape stuns and such, followed by a nice 50% speed boost for 4 seconds activating cat form which is a nice 25% (+15% with 90 pvp gear set) . So you get an escape, a speed boost and a form change all in 1 GCD and its useable whilst carrying PvP flags. The combined affect of this makes it a valuable defensive and game winning cooldown, as well as a "no target needed" offensive gap closing cooldown :)

Very underrated skill now that it lost the stealth component, most druid guides discredit it and say the choice is between the other two mobility talents. It's the only skill that instantly warps you, causing you to avoid any floor damage / other mechanics between you and your destination. Only thing holding it back is the cooldown, which was probably tuned to not infuriate pvpers more than it was to allow druids to blink past raid damage regularly.

This spell should not trigger cat form in PvE...

Bear druids just do not want to leave bear form during combat, since they will instantly die.

Healers and Boomkins just do not want to go into cat form, since it is an utter waste of a global cooldown just to shift back into caster/moonkin form.

Cat druids are already in Cat form, so it just does not matter to them at all.

I suggest that, at least for PvE content, displacer beast be made to not trigger any shapeshift at all - it should just teleport you and give a movespeed buff...

I used to underestimate this spell, but now I'm the number one fan of it.

It is extremely similar to Blink of Mages, but in case you are like me and have never had a mage, I will tell you some tips:

- Use this spell to move faster between places (duh)
- Use this to quickly move out from AoEs, specially from bosses' skills, like Desecrate and Annihilate (Garrosh Hellscream), for example.
- Use this to cross AoEs that you can't even touch, like Spirit Strangle on Timeless Isle.
- Use this to get out from sight of any enemy player on PvP, facing him and blinking to his back (to get away or to counter-attack)
- Use this to get back from spells that pushes you away, as you would do with Wild Charge. For example on Shock Pulse (Iron Juggernaut) or even Typhoon and Thunderstorm.
- Use this to negate fall damage. While you are falling, activate this spell when are about to hit the ground. Don't worry too much about the height because you have Feline Grace, making it safer.
- Use to run away from mobs. It's probably be more efficient than Feline Swiftness and Wild Charge, because how much more distance away, less the chances to get hit by Dazed.
- Using while carrying a flag on Battlegrounds won't make you drop it.
- This spell removes Prowl, keep it on mind.
- While carrying someone on your back with Glyph of the Stag, both you and your partner will be teleported. (Epic Mount with Falling Flame, lol)

There are more possibilities, if you know any say it.

Differences between Displacer Beast and Blink respectively:
Cooldown: 30s and 15s
Distance: 20y and 20y (28y with Charred Glyph)
Cost: free and 2% of Mana Base
Speed bônus: 50% for 4s and nothing
Blink's Glyphs: Charred Glyph, Glyph of Momentum and Glyph of Rapid Displacement

The speed buff does not stack with the Worgen racial: Darkflight.

You can still use Displacer Beast when Darkflight is active and get the 20 yard blink.

And of course, having them on side-by-side rotation maximizes your overall movement opportunities.
