Brewmaster Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

Brewmasters are difficult to kill: The Brewmaster class is built around the Stagger mechanic. In a proper gameplay setting, about 86% of physical damage, and 30% of magic damage is delayed over 10 seconds to the Brewmaster. Magic mitigation is roughly on par with other classes in terms of surviving hits. On the other hand, physical mitigation is extremely powerful and 2nd only to Protection Warrior from a raw mitigation standpoint. Brewmaster mitigation has 100% uptime, which is a major benefit to the group always having the defensive capability to head into the next big pull. The stagger kit paired with three major defensive cooldowns: Fortifying Brew, Zen Meditation and (if talented) Dampen Harm make Brewmaster a very sturdy tank.

Detox: Having both a poison and disease dispel has proven to be extremely useful in BFA. There are at least 2-3 mobs or bosses in every dungeon that favor having one or especially two dispels in the party. Some dungeons like Temple and Underrot have critical disease dispel mechanics that some healer classes might not be capable of dispelling, and the tank being able to make up for the healer’s lack of a disease dispel can round out the group composition nicely. Unique tank utility with Ring of Peace: Ring is an exceptional utility spell. Ring makes Brewmaster stand apart from other tanks because of its shear defensive power. Ring stops almost every trash mob in the game from being able to successfully melee you for the duration. There are many uses beyond the basic defensive ring- It can be used as an interrupt, a displacer to move mobs out of sanguine or toward the rest of the pack. It can be used as a defensive barrier on a party member being fixated by a mob, or a space creator to skip a pack of mobs. It can be an emergency option to separate an infested mob from the rest of the pack, or a blockade to prevent mobs from running in fear through sanguine. The list goes on.

AOE mass taunt capability: Another unique aspect to Brewmaster is having the option to AOE taunt an entire pack of mobs. If talented into Summon Black Ox Statue, taunting the statue itself will apply Provoke to every mob in the vicinity. If you keg smash the mobs in the 3-second threat increase window, you will have a significant threat lead on every mob. This can solve threat issues when it is too dangerous to ever be in melee range, especially on the Skittish affix.

Baseline AOE stun: Leg Sweep is great to have in the group composition. 3 seconds is currently the longest AOE stun available, and is often a lifesaver to stop a Spawn of G'huun from getting away or infesting another mob. Having 2-3 stuns in a group is often required for some pulls in higher keys as well.

Mystic Touch: In BFA all 3 monk specializations provide a physical damage boost for all party members. A 5% damage buff is a big deal for most melee classes, and can be the difference between timing a key and depleting at the highest level.

High mobility: Nothing beats how quickly Brewmaster can get in and out of a pack of mobs. Not only does Brewmaster have Chi Torpedo or Tiger's Lust for fast movement; Transcendence is invaluable for teleporting through walls or floors and instantly line-of-sighting (LOS) mobs to take little damage while pulling or kiting.

Decent Self and off healing: Oftentimes using Vivify as a filler spell while kiting a pack is a good choice. This paired with Gift of the Ox and Celestial Fortune, along with many good azerite traits to be mentioned later on, provide a large healing potential for Brewmaster. On higher-level keys a Brewmaster can match or even do more healing than the healer on some trash mob pulls. Off-healing with vivify also deserves an honorable mention as it can save lives.

Universal CC - Paralysis: In season 1 of BFA, having Crowd Control (CC) abilities in the group is important. Monk brings a universal CC with paralyze, and can permanently keep a mob paralyzed if desired. The other universal CC is Blind, but is only usable once in a pull due to the long cooldown. Paralyze can also be used as an interrupt on most mobs when not needed for CC.

Consistent AOE damage (while kiting as well): Brewmaster performs average or less in the AOE damage department compared to other tanks on paper. However, since kiting is so necessary in BFA, Brewmaster overall damage ranks high compared to the other tanks. Keg Smash, Breath of Fire and (if talented) Chi Burst are all usable from range while kiting and make up the majority of AOE damage. Not only does this provide good overall damage, but threat is hardly an issue while kiting as well.

Weaknesses

Lack of grip: The biggest challenge for Brewmaster. In reality, most mythic+ players are used to having a Death Grip in the group. Particularly with caster mobs and ranged archer mobs, grip solves movement issues immediately and nobody has to worry about bringing the mob in. Without having a grip, kicks need to be coordinated on casters when the pull begins, or LOS needs to be used by the whole group to bring the mobs into the pack. This weakness does provide a challenge, but can be worked around without sacrificing much at all (with practice).

Melee range interrupt: One of the most annoying things is being a tank with a melee-range interrupt. Spear Hand Strike does its job, but you do have to be right on top of the mob to hit the crucial interrupt. While moving a boss or mob, running back into melee range and kicking might not be possible. This is easily handled as a DK or DH tank with ranged interrupt abilities.

No Combat Ressurection: One of the other downsides to a Brewmaster tank is the lack of combat resurrection (like Raise Ally). Deaths happen in keys; realistically, things will go wrong and the group will need to recover. In patch 8.1, engineers now have a battle-rez item called: Unstable Temporal Time Shifter. This may help solve group composition issues with Brewmaster needing to run with Druids, as DPS and sometimes the tank or healer can now help battle-rez in some situations.

Most AOE threat is tied to Keg Smash: This is only a weakness at the beginning of a pull usually. Keg smash hits a small radius around the targeted mob, and is the main source of threat. On big pulls, you must wait until all or almost all mobs are within the range for kegsmash to hit everything. If party members are not aware of this and pull mobs away from the group early, it is often difficult to reclaim threat on the pack of mobs as a whole. Communicate this with the group to solve any issues. Oftentimes it only means waiting to DPS for 2-3 seconds.

No damage Cooldowns: In Legion, Brewmasters had the ability to have high burst on pull with two charges of Keg Smash, followed by two casts of Breath of Fire and then Exploding Keg to deal a high amount of AOE damage quickly. This is no longer the case, and with no DPS cooldowns to play around either, Brewmasters are unable to burst for high amounts of damage. This is not a game-breaking weakness, since overall damage is still solid, but it is worth keeping in mind.

Patch 8.1 ChangesStaggerNew Azerite Traits

Straight, No Chaser - Replacing the Niuzao's Blessing trait, this will be a nice option to have in dungeons and raid. It’s a small chance to gain the extra brew charge, but it’s a decent survival bonus when it procs as well as the constant armor bonus.

Exit Strategy - Replaces Azerite Fortification. This gives the class even more mobility and some defensive use to Roll or Chi Torpedo, and may be worth grabbing one exit trait for dungeon use.

Other Changes

Crackling Jade Lightning - now deals damage instantly instead of waiting for a tick as a nice quality of life change for tagging mobs or breaking CC.

Summon Black Ox Statue - Will now pulse threat to all enemies within 20 yards, instead of 30 yards. This is a quality of life improvement as well; 30-yard radius is tough to play around without pulling unintended mobs.

All tanks now gain main stat from spirit flasks and feasts instead of stamina while in tank spec, another quality of life improvement.

StaggerBest Races for Mythic+Alliance

Night Elf: Shadowmeld is very strong. I could go on and on about the skips made possible using meld. Melding after a skip not only prevents a death from the tank which saves 5 seconds, but instantly drops combat instead of having to wait around trying to die in some situations. If all five Alliance members have stealth or shadowmeld, this becomes even faster and is a huge time save. Beyond this, shadowmeld can be used like Vanish to avoid targeted mechanics in dungeons.

Dwarf and Dark Iron Dwarf: Stoneform and Fireblood are both also very strong. Not only do these provide extra damage reduction cooldowns for on-use, but can remove many of the threatening bleeds in BFA dungeons. This includes removing grievous and necrotic stacks.

Horde

Blood Elf: Arcane Torrent is strong in BFA dungeons. There are many enemy buffs and effects to purge with torrent. Torrent is good to use for energy regeneration when not needed as a purge as well.

Tauren/High Mountain Tauren: War Stomp and Bull Rush fill similar niches. Both abilities are nice as an AOE disrupt on enemy casts, and have a very short stun involved. The stuns will put Diminishing Returns on other group members’ stuns as well, so be sure to use these racials last or as an emergency interrupt.

Brewmaster Utility

Ring of Peace: The most unique part of the Brewmaster kit. Ring will stop almost every trash mob in the game from being able to reach you as the tank. In addition, it can be used as an interrupt, a displacer to move mobs out of sanguine or toward the rest of the pack. It can be used as a defensive barrier on a party member being fixated by a mob, or a space creator to skip a pack of mobs. It can be an emergency option to separate an infested mob from the rest of the pack, or a blockade to prevent mobs from running in fear through sanguine. The most typical use for ring is to start kiting in general. Especially on necrotic weeks, the freedom and space given by ring is extra valuable.

Leg Sweep: Sweep is generally available to use once during every trash mob pull. A 3-second AOE stun can be clutch to have, for both survival and optimizing group damage. Use sweep often and at the right moments. Try to catch channeling spells or Spawn of G'huun attempting to infest for extra value.

Mystic Touch: Apply this to every mob as soon as possible. This is normally easy to do, but pay attention to bosses such as Vol'kaal where each totem should be tagged right off the bat to apply mystic touch.

Special Delivery: Special delivery is an option to take as a back up slow. The problem with SD is that the kegs will miss the mobs frequently if the pack is being kited. It is a strong 50% slow, and the whole purpose of the talent is to make kiting easier. It is a little unreliable, so preferably use another slow in the party if possible.

Summon Black Ox Statue: Brewmaster brings the capability of mass-taunting via the Ox Statue commonly referred to as Dave. Mass taunting is especially strong in massive pulls like in the beginning of Tol Dagor, or during skittish weeks in general. All that needs to be done is to lay down the statue in the middle of all the mobs and then use a macro to Provoke it. Throw a Keg Smash in right after the AOE taunt and all threat should safely belong to you. Be careful when positioning the statue so it does not pull extra mobs.

Vivify: helps add to self-healing when kiting. Vivify can also be used to save party members being focused down by mechanics such as Drain Fluids.

Provoke: Provides a speed boost on the enemy mob. This is another unique ability, and can sometimes replace Death Grip (or provide an alternative rather) in certain situations. As an example, provoking a mob across a sanguine puddle is a great way to prevent some healing on it.

Paralysis: the universal CC paralyze is particularly useful in season one of BFA. The infested affix ensures that paralyze is used nearly every pull. It is also refreshable, and usable on any crowd-controllable mob.

Crackling Jade Lightning: Jade lightning can provide a utility niche if a 40-yard range spell is needed. Sometimes mobs may be pulled with a far-reaching ability to sneak them past another pack. Jade lightning does instant damage as of patch 8.1, so breaking infested targets out of CC or pulling mobs is now faster than ever.

Resuscitate: Having a resurrection spell is nice as the tank. Start casting after pulls to get a party member up while your healer drinks to save time.

Tiger's Lust: Beyond the movement speed increase (which can also be cast on another player to get them out of harm’s way), tiger’s lust also adds a root/slow disable to the group’s utility pool. Tiger’s lust is comparable to Blessing of Freedom.

TalentsTrell's default talent build

Eye of the Tiger: A small boost to single-target healing and damage, my personal preference if Chi Burst is not needed.

Chi Burst: Take chi burst when you feel that more AOE burst damage/threat is needed. Chi burst is also a tool that can be used to prevent an infested mob (season one) from spawning at the very beginning of a key. Aim a chi burst at the mob through the starting gate if close enough, and it will pull early causing the infest to cancel.

Chi Torpedo: My personal preference, the 10-second speed bonus after initially rolling is great for kiting and fast pace throughout the key. The speed bonus is stackable/refreshable as well, so time a 2nd torpedo just as the previous buff is about to expire.

Tiger's Lust: can be just as good as torpedo. TL also gives the party another utility spell if needed as it will free a player from a root or slow. Both talents on this row are equally good choices.

Light Brewing: Provides the necessary defensive boost that Brewmaster needs. Without this talent, using Purifying Brew would rarely be an option due to only having enough brews to maintain Ironskin Brew.

Black Ox Brew: I don’t currently recommend using Black Ox Brew, but in the future this may be the go-to option again. This talent currently loses too much usage when kiting is involved, or downtime in general. To match the brew numbers provided by Light Brewing, Keg Smash and Tiger Palm would need to have full rotational use at all times.

Ring of Peace: Ring is the default choice here unless Ox Statue is needed for something.

Summon Black Ox Statue: Ox statue is a great pick for the beginning of Tol Dagor up to the first boss. After killing the boss, run out and swap talents to Ring of Peace. Other situations to pick Ox Statue involve a need for more threat on packs. Statue positioning can be tricky to use properly (without pulling more mobs than intended), but with proper placement and use of Provoke macros, will completely solve threat issues.

Dampen Harm: Dampen is my default choice. The beginning of a pull is usually when damage is threatening enough to kill a Brewmaster. Mobs may not be tightly grouped right away, so the tank needs to be on top of everything to gather and hold threat. Heavy burst damage comes in during this time, so having an additional defensive cooldown as an option is game changing (and lifesaving). Dampen also provides a huge magic damage reduction cooldown, which Brewmaster lacks otherwise. Zen Meditation can sometimes fill this void but not always due to the nature of the spell.

Healing Elixir: Is competitive with Dampen. Playing healing elixir will result in more self-healing, but also more damage taken. However, this talent may be a better option if you are guaranteed to live through the burst damage moments in a key without using Dampen. grievous weeks also give healing elixir some more value over Dampen, and may be the better choice.

Rushing Jade Wind: RJW is currently the best choice on this row, as it just does more damage, and is more consistent.

Special Delivery: SD is fine damage-wise throughout a key, but is inconsistent in what targets it will hit, and sometimes missing every mob flat out. Take this only if a 50% slow on the mobs is sorely needed by the group.

High Tolerance: High tolerance is the best pick for higher level mythic+. Guard is useful up until mid-range keys, but does not scale up in value like it’s counterpart High Tolerance. In high keys, guard gets taken off in one GCD most of the time, whereas it took up a GCD just to use it in the first place.

Never let Ironskin Brew fall off as long as you are taking incoming damage from any source other than stagger. This is the most important rule, and if you are new to Brewmaster you will want to focus on this until it feels natural to always have Ironskin up.

Keep the Breath of Fire (BoF) debuff on all targets attacking you as often as possible. This is free damage reduction, and should be used on cooldown. BoF has a short range in a frontal cone, so make sure you are close to all of the mobs in a big pull the moment you press it.

Land every Keg Smash on the middle-most mob in a pack. This is particularly important in BFA because of the reduced threat that tanks generate. Keg smash needs be used immediately on cooldown and needs to hit every mob in combat with you when possible. On pulls where you have to grab several packs at once, you may need to Keg Smash one pack, and cast Breath of Fire on another pack to initially get threat. If pulling more you may need to lightly aggro every pack with Rushing Jade Wind as you pass it, then keg smash all the mobs at once when they are gathered up.

Never cap Brew charges unless very heavy damage is coming up soon and you are pooling charges on purpose. Keeping Ironskin Brew up will automatically take care of this most of the time, but during Bloodlust you may need to purify even low amounts of damage to keep from capping charges. This is in no way a bad thing; take any form of free damage reduction possible.

Use either a Lightfoot Potion or Battle Potion of Agility just before entering combat on each pull. On higher-level keys, “pre-potting” before combat starts will cause the potion cooldown to start and then be up for the next pull again. This is important for more damage and aggro, or speeding up and surviving a pull. On bosses, use a 2nd Agility potion when it is off cooldown unless you know you will need to save the potion cooldown for a Lightfoot Potion immediately after the boss is dead for the next pull.

Make good use of your mobility. One of the most fun parts of playing Brewmaster is how quickly you can move around. Use this to your advantage every chance you get. Move between pulls or kite quickly to avoid heavy damage by use of Chi Torpedo, Roll, Tiger's Lust or Transcendence.

Make good use of your utility. Brewmaster brings a lot of utility to the group and it should be used as often as possible. Detox is a very underrated spell and can eliminate a long list of mechanics in BFA dungeons. See the specific dungeon walkthroughs below for good times to use detox. Use Ring of Peace, Leg Sweep, and Paralysis to disrupt enemy casts. Use Vivify on yourself or others in times of need as an off-heal. Use Resuscitate to resurrect a party member while your healer drinks water to save time.

The most important priorities you have as the tank are (in this order):

Start the pull in a safe spot away from patrols, and build as much threat as possible with defensive cooldowns up.

When it is time to kite, use Leg Sweep and run slightly out of range.

Put down Ring of Peace between you and the mobs to keep them still and grouped up but not able to hit you.

Put down your Transcendence spirit.

Use Chi Torpedo or Tiger's Lust to move faster than the mobs and start kiting once Ring of peace is over.

Use Transcendence to port back behind the pack and move safely back to the same area.

Use any other group utility to keep the mobs still and further maximize the group’s damage (the best example is Balance Druid’s Force of Nature.

ISB timer: This is the most important buff to track. Use this or another similar weakaura to track how many seconds Ironskin Brew has left.

Normalized stagger weakaura: this is a very good visual indicator for how much Stagger you really have, and how hard it will hit you for over time. I personally don’t use a stagger weakaura, but do recommend this for players that may not have played the tank spec for a long time. If using this, be sure to follow the instructions on this link to setup properly.

Interrupt Tracker (DG v3)

Infested on Nameplate Weakaura: Great for the BFA season 1 affix infested. Infested mobs are easily identifiable this way, as it attaches an icon above their nameplates.

Quaking Timer: shows a visual quaking timer/countdown as a horizontal bar.

Use any kind of visual indicator for how long defensive cooldowns such as Dampen Harm or Fortifying Brew are active.

General Brewmaster items

Auto-Hammer: Good to have in case the dungeon is indoors and repairing on a mount is no option.
Demitri's Draught of Deception: Invis potions may be needed for skips if there is no rogue or Resto Druid.
F.R.I.E.D.: FRIED bombs are nice for pulling long distance mobs, especially if they are in stealth.
Potions: Stock up on Lightfoot Potion, Battle Potion of Agility and possibly even Steelskin Potions.
Flask: Keep a Flask of the Currents rolling at all times.

Party Composition fill-in items: Use these items to make up for the lack of certain class buffs in the group

Party buff scrolls: War-Scroll of Battle Shout, War-Scroll of Intellect and War-Scroll of Fortitude
Scroll of Unlocking and Monelite Skeleton Key: These items can be used by their respective professions, and are entirely for use in Tol Dagor. Bring a rogue instead though, it’s 100% a rogue dungeon.
Drums of Fury

Personal Engineering items: I recommend Engineering as a profession for mythic+. It’s the only profession that adds a small advantage in high level keys. Use a personal belt enchant from the following:

Belt Enchants: Belt Enchant: Holographic Horror Projector, Belt Enchant: Miniaturized Plasma Shield or Belt Enchant: Personal Space Amplifier
Unstable Temporal Time Shifter (8.1 addition): This might end up being useful for tanks. Since you have to be in melee range of the party member’s body it’s difficult to use though.

Dungeon Affixes and How to Deal With Them

Fortified/Tyrannical: The main thing to keep in mind here is how the route will be affected because of the extra health and damage on either trash mobs or bosses. Tyrannical usually means pulling bigger between bosses to make up time. Fortified means you may want to pull cautiously since packs will live for a long time and deal quite a lot of damage. Bloodlust timings are usually affected as well. Sometimes it is worth to lust trash packs on Fortified weeks, though on higher keys lusting bosses may be the best time save regardless of affix (in most cases).

Bolstering: Pull similar health mobs together during bolstering week. Pulls can be quite different and tedious to group up this way but will make the run as smooth as possible. It’s not worth it to bolster a mob with twice the health as the rest many times over, it usually results in huge time-loss. Sometimes there is no choice, so hold off on AOE damage and only single-target the biggest mob down first. Some creative gameplay can separate mobs enough to outrange the bolstering stacks. Use Provoke to speed mobs away from the pack if the group can coordinate enough to hold the other mobs still and kill them out of bolstering range.
Raging: Kite when mobs hit the 30% health threshold. Mobs already hit hard enough in BFA dungeons before raging, so get out of there. Have Druids and Hunters prioritize Soothe to take raging off of caster mobs or archer/gunner mobs that shoot at random players. Raging will instantly affect any dots or debuffs from the mobs, be especially careful of bleeds from Spectral Berserkers in King’s Rest.
Sanguine: Pull enemies to open areas if possible. Change direction of the pull once puddles start dropping to maneuver mobs around the puddles. Plan for the next pull ahead of time to make sure there will be space. Use both Ring of Peace and Provoke to knock or speed mobs through puddles to avoid healing and losing time. Use Provoke on high health mobs to bring them to the front of the pack when kiting. The party should be taking out the lowest health mobs first in the back of the group as they are being kited. In dungeons like Tol Dagor, do your best to keep enemies from running in fear through sanguine. This is difficult, but use Leg Sweep at an opportune time to stop the mobs from running.
Teeming: Keep in mind that more pulls may be necessary to finish Enemy Forces count for the mythic+ dungeon. Some pulls will have more mobs that are dangerous and will be quite difficult to live through. BFA teeming packs have already been tuned back several times, but it continues to be a very challenging affix.
Bursting: Use powerful defensive cooldowns during high bursting stacks if possible. Except for immunities, Brewmaster has the best defensive versus bursting: Zen Meditation. Get out of the pack and channel zen med through all the bursting stacks to heavily reduce the damage taken. Dampen Harm will also help if needed.

Necrotic: The necrotic dot is staggerable as if it were magic damage like any other bleed effect. Brewmaster excels at necrotic naturally by dodging melee hits left and right. However, on a fast melee-ing boss you may want a DPS player to taunt briefly to help drop stacks. On necrotic trash, use all of the tools in the kit to escape quickly and keep mobs away while dropping stacks. Ring of Peace is very important to use properly on this affix.
Skittish: Skittish hasn’t been too bad in BFA. Since threat is closer to skittish levels by default, skittish may seem like any other week’s threat values at times. Be mindful of how efficient you are using Keg Smash during skittish, as every cast needs to hit every mob in the pack. Use Summon Black Ox Statue if threat is still not enough while keg smashing optimally.
Explosive: With changes in Patch 8.1, Keg Smash and Breath of Fire should now hit explosive orbs while targeting them. This allows the full rotation to hit orbs. Center mobs around the orbs so that AOE still cleaves the pack while dispatching orbs. Blackout Kick should almost if not completely one-shot an orb as well.
Grievous: Grievous is actually an affix Brewmaster is good at these days. Stagger prevents Brewmaster from quickly dipping below 90% health into grievous range. Pool Gift of the Ox orbs and Healing Elixir (if talented) to top yourself off when going below half health. This will instantly take off grievous and give the healer more breathing room.
Volcanic: Usually a non-affix for the tank, but be sure to watch where the plumes are to avoid extra damage.
Quaking: Quaking always happens at the worst possible time. Use Expel Harm, Healthstone or a defensive if it lines up with heavy incoming tank damage to prevent a one-shot. Try to avoid casting just before quaking is about to happen. There are several weakauras to track when quaking is scheduled to happen, I personally prefer this one: Quaking WA

Dealing with BFA Seasonal Affixes

Infested (Season One): Infested mobs are preset through the dungeons and are on a 3-week rotation. Prepare for infested by checking out which mobs are circled in red in Method Dungeon Tools. Base your pulls around taking out non-infested mobs first, then pulling several infested mobs together for maximum efficiency (since their healing effect cancels out on each other). Luckily Paralysis affects every mob that is able to be CC’d and should be used any time there’s an infested mob in the pull. Use Ring of Peace as a separation tool in case an infested mob’s CC breaks and starts running in. Break infested mobs out of CC instantly with Crackling Jade Lightning once the other mobs are dealt with.
Reaping (Season Two): Reaping is replacing Infested at the start of season 2 and sounds like an exciting change. In some form or fashion, every 20% mark on enemy forces will trigger an event where spirits will attack the group. There has been very little testing (if at all?) with the new affix, so it will be exciting to see what it entails with the new season. I will update this section once I have figured out the best way to deal with it!

In each Dungeon Walkthrough below, you will find the general route for Fortified, Tyrannical, and Teeming affixes. All routes included below are linked via my Pastebin which contains the import text string needed to see the route in-game. To use the imports, open MDT in game and paste the import text string into the "import" field.

MDT is a great tool and I highly recommend using it for getting into any level of keystones. Keep in mind that these routes are general use, with only Fortified, Tyrannical, or Teeming in mind. In reality, the route will change slightly every week based on certain affixes. Though all affixes affect the size of pulls or how to approach them, the affixes that drastically change the route are Bolstering, Explosive and Teeming. Use these routes as a good starting point, but customize them further based on the week.

Once imported, you will see each dungeon listed pull-by-pull. Pulls are circled in white to show what all is included in each pull, and bosses are circled in blue. The white arrows mean to take that path, and skip the mobs along the way in some (creative) way- In most cases this means using a Shroud of Concealment or death skip by pulling the mobs out of the way so the group can pass safely. I put a note with “lust!” next to the pull or boss for the typical lust timings on each route.

Atal'Dazar

Rezan
Trash Mobs in the Area

The first area of trash to kill is referred to as the “humanoid side” of Atal’Dazar. Take a left from the entrance of the dungeon and pull the first 2 packs from the humanoid side together. Avoid pulling the constructs, but most of the humanoid trash is good for enemy forces count. If need be, add a Skyscreamer from down below using Crackling Jade Lightning into these pulls. These mobs all have dangerous mechanics for the group, keep the following in mind:

Dazar'ai Juggernaut: A ranged party member can bait the Merciless Assault outside of the group, as long as everyone else is directly in melee range. This ability is a near one-shot on higher level fortified keys.
Dazar'ai Confessor: Watch for the Bwonsamdi's Mantle cast as the highest priority, as this will prevent all other interrupts and CC from working if it goes through. Also watch for the Mending Word cast to prevent a big heal. This mob will try its hardest to wipe the group by also casting Dispel on any CC’d infested mobs, so make sure this doesn’t go off.
Dazar'ai Augur: Kick Wildfire when possible, this cast deals a large chunk of damage on a random party member. Use a stun or CC to disrupt the Fiery Enchant cast since kicks are being used on all kinds of other important casts in these pulls.
Dazar'ai Honor Guard: The only non-dangerous mob in these 2 pulls, but still watch out for Fervent Strike, since it will hit the next nearest target if the tank is not in range.
Feasting Skyscreamer: One of the easier mobs; be sure to interrupt Terrifying Screech. One 15-second cooldown interrupt can handle this each time it casts.

Rezan Boss Encounter

Tank the boss near one of the two northernmost pillars on the outside wall of the pit. The south pillars are bugged and do not actually prevent the fear from Terrifying Visage. Move around the corner of the pillar to LOS the fear cast.
Alternate Dampen Harm, Fortifying Brew or a healer’s external on each cast of Serrated Teeth.
Whichever party member is fixated by Pursuit will determine where the boss goes, but pull the boss back to one of the two pillars after it ends.
If you are the target of Pursuit as the tank, run farther than DPS normally need to as the boss will bug out at the end of the cast, pause, then sprint at you full speed to eat you anyway. A group member can taunt right as this happens to prevent the sprinting.

Vol'kaal
Trash Mobs in the Area

After Rezan and the Humanoid side is cleared, take out some of the Toxic Saurid packs nearby and then head up the “Undead side” of Atal’Dazar. The undead mobs deal heavy tank damage, so try to have Fortifying Brew for the first pull in this area. Head up the stairs and take out the Reanimated Honor Guard with the patrolling Shadowblade Stalker nearby. The group may be used to a DK using Control Undead on this honor guard so be sure they are prepared for the amount of damage it will inflict. A demon hunter can pull the far invisible stalkers with Spectral Sight, or hunters with Flare. As a Brewmaster, you can throw a F.R.I.E.D. where they stand on the stairs to engage them. Skip most of the trash here with Shroud of Concealment or by death skipping if possible.

Shieldbearer of Zul: Shield Bash hurts when it lands, careful when kiting as it will target the next nearest player if the tank is out of range. Use Leg Sweep or Paralysis to break the Bulwark of Juju cast.
Shadowblade Stalker: Have defensive cooldowns ready for Venomfang Strikes paired with the shield bash hits.
Reanimated Honor Guard: The most dangerous mob for Brewmasters, take this mob out first and don’t pull any more than necessary while engaging it. They will inflict a long bleed in the form of Rending Maul as well as pulsing AOE damage to the rest of the party. Kite early and often while in combat with this guy.
Zanchuli Witch-Doctor: either kick the Unstable Hex cast or let it go and have a party member dispel the curse instead. Focus interrupts on the Venom Blast casts to prevent lethal damage.

The pack before Vol’kaal can be skipped with the use of Ring of Peace. To do this, pick a side, and Paralysis the closest Undead Honor Guard while a rogue or demon hunter Sap or Imprison the closest humanoid near it. Use Ring of Peace to push the mobs off to the side to walk by without going into combat at all. This can be done going to or from the boss.

Vol’kaal Boss Encounter

Tag all 3 Reanimation Totems at the start with any ability to inflict Mystic Touch.
Interrupt the Noxious Stench cast each time before a 2nd stack is applied to the group.
Tank the boss in phase 2 around the edges of the room, while moving slowly in a circle to control the poison puddles.
Spread all defensive cooldowns throughout phase 2 to avoid as much damage as possible.

Priestess Alun'za
Trash Mobs in the Area

Head down toward the middle of Atal’Dazar and take out the last of the undead mobs at the bottom of the stairs. Finish the remaining Toxic Saurids and Feasting Skyscreamer packs, then head up to Priestess Alun’za. In Alun’za’s area there are more of the same humanoid mobs from the beginning of the dungeon, so use the same strategies on these pulls.

Toxic Saurid: on fortified weeks you may only want to pull one pack at a time due to the damage Leaping Thrash causes. On tyrannical weeks you can get away with pulling 2 packs or maybe even 3 at a time if the group can handle it.

Priestess Alun’za Boss Encounter

Make good use of Paralysis to keep a Spirit of Gold from moving and consuming Tainted Blood.
Have a party member purge or use your own Arcane Torrent (if blood elf) to purge the Gilded Claws buff from the boss.
Organize the group to make sure each players gets 1 Tainted Blood puddle in-time before each cast of Transfusion.

Yazma

(Trash is usually complete by this point, but there may be one or two Feasting Skyscreamers to finish off in the meantime.)

Yazma Boss Encounter

Move the boss in a circle slowly around the room. This stacks the fixating spiders together and makes it easier to have an escape route at all times.
Be sure to interrupt the Wracking Pain cast each time.
Try to line up a dodge with Mastery: Elusive Brawler stacks for each Skewer cast. This is not always possible but will help reduce a lot of damage.
Use defensive cooldowns liberally throughout the fight.
Avoid soaking the spiders in general, the room fills up with puddles fast.

Freehold

Skycap'n Kragg
Trash Mobs in the Area

Skipping most of the beginning trash is usually the play. The mobs hit hard and some cannot be slowed, or jump to the tank making necrotic very difficult. If you have bursty DPS classes in the group, start out the dungeon by triple pulling the 3 packs directly in front of the starting area. Do 1 of the 2 packs closest to Skycap’n Kragg to trigger the boss to spawn. On a high enough Fortified key, Bloodlust the first triple pull, otherwise lust the boss.

Irontide Mastiff: Buff themselves with Bestial Wrath and slow the tank with Crippling Bite. These can be stunned and easily kited.
Irontide Enforcer: Avoid the frontal cleave of Brutal Backhand. These mobs cannot be slowed, but are affected by Ring of Peace. On necrotic weeks, a well-timed ring will drop stacks here. The most annoying mob in this area, enforcers also cast Shattering Toss on the tank which will throw you to the farthest party member in line of sight. When thrown you will likely take a couple hits from behind while midair.
Irontide Corsair: Watch where you are standing at all times, this mob will jump directly behind you when they cast Poisoning Strike, particularly on sanguine weeks.
Irontide Crackshot: Not particularly dangerous, just difficult to move without grip. You can use Ring of Peace or out ranging to move this mob when necessary.
Irontide Bonesaw: Use Detox on yourself anytime an Infected Wound is applied, and interrupt the Healing Balm cast.

Skycap’n Kragg Boss Encounter

Positioning on this boss is the most important part. The goal is to have the boss in a consistent location that allows a ranged player and the healer to both outrange the Azerite Powder Shot and be in the arena to bait the Vile Bombardment at the same time. There are several good spots to tank Kragg, near the bird nest is decent and toward the exit of the arena is another.
Stand with your back facing away from the arena from this position so that you don’t share the Azerite Powder Shot cleave with anyone. If Vile Bombardment does land in melee carefully move the boss to a new spot a few yards away. Try to only move the boss between powder shots.
Interrupt Revitalizing Brew right away.
Use defensive cooldowns throughout phase 2 when low on health, the powder shot could line up at a bad time and finish you off.

Council of Captains
Trash Mobs in the Area

The trash mobs down by the Council area and beyond are the best and “easiest” to pull in large numbers. Clear most of the dungeon’s enemy forces count in this area. Keep in mind some of the more dangerous mobs for tanks to worry about. When doing pulls of 2-3 groups of mobs, try not to pull too many Cutwater Harpooners in one pull.

Vermin Trapper: avoid Rat Traps by moving a few yards away as the cast finishes.
Blacktooth Brute: stay out of melee range most of the time, this mob hits hard and deals aoe damage around it with Earth Shaker.
Irontide Oarsman: Plan an interrupt for Sea Spout if available.
Cutwater Duelist: Stun or disrupt the Duelist Dash cast, otherwise move to avoid the path of the dash. The duelist will stun anyone in between himself and the targeted ground swirly.
Cutwater Harpooner: be ready to take a Dragging Harpoon to the face at random. Use Transcendence or a Roll charge to get back out of melee range when this happens.
Irontide Crusher: Immune to crowd controls and even Ring of Peace, be careful of the combination of taking a harpoon cast into the Crusher’s aoe abilities.
Bilge Rat Brinescale: This mob has priority interrupts on Frost Blast. One frost blast successfully going off can kill the entire group. One 15-second cooldown interrupt can take care of each cast per Brinescale.

Council of Captains Boss Encounter

This encounter has varying difficulty depending on the weekly rotation of which 2 bosses are active after completing the event to ally with one of the 3 captains. Plan to Bloodlust this boss on weeks that Captain Eudora is active.
Captain Jolly: By far the most annoying captain for tanks - dodge Whirlpool of Blades and then position Jolly to where the blades travel directly back to the captain and disappear. This is a tricky mechanic, as the knockback from the blades on high level keys scales to the point where being knocked throws you so high in the air that the boss resets. Avoid this by standing maximum melee range from Jolly, and then stutter stepping backwards. Rotate the boss slightly as the blade finishes moving in. This is difficult to do consistently without letting the blade’s hitbox come into contact with your character and Jolly at the same time. The blade damage and knockback are dodge-able, but it is not guaranteed. Plan for the worst by having a Transcendence spirit down and ready. Other players in the group can also be ready to taunt the boss in case the knockback occurs and throws you into the sky. *The knockback issue may have been fixed in 8.1.
Captain Eudora: Powder Shot is dodge-able, so face toward Eudora when this is targeting you to soak it for free. Avoid Grapeshot by rolling toward and rotating behind Eudora when she jumps across the room.
Captain Raoul: Does heavy melee damage on higher keys. Move out of Raoul’s Barrel Smash as it begins to cast. Use Tiger's Lust to instantly free a party member from Blackout Barrel on weeks where this mechanic occurs.
Be very careful where you stand during this encounter, if you roll across the benches to avoid a number of the Captain’s mechanics, the boss will reset. The edges of the room are not well defined either, try to keep the bosses centered when possible so that they don’t reset.

Trothak
Trash Mobs in the Area

The same trash mobs from the last area hang out here as well. Be sure to fight a couple packs while waiting for the Ring of Booty dialogue. After defeating the pig, you will fight Ludwig Von Tortollan. Ludwig isn’t threatening to Brewmaster, but watch out in case it is Raging week.

Trothak Boss Encounter

Tank Trothak in the middle generally, so that the group can spread out to kite sharks all around the outside ring.
Help by taking over shark duty during Shark Tornado, since you can still use most of your rotation from range outside of the tornado. Be ready for Trothak to jump to your shark as the tornado ends.

Harlan Sweete
Trash Mobs in the Area

In the last area of the dungeon, there are 3 mob packs total that include an Irontide Ravager. Be sure to include 2-3 of these packs into the dungeon’s enemy forces count as they are very quick pulls.

Irontide Ravager: Position this mob in the middle of the pack and let Painful Motivation finish casting. This will completely kill the Ravager itself and the nearest 2 mobs at the time of the cast finishing. Use Paralysis on a 2nd ravager nearby if needed. By staggering cats by CC'ing one, it can ensure that all 6 mobs get a chance to receive the buff. Right after the cast finishes, Leg Sweep and kite for a moment while the mobs are buffed.
Irontide Stormcaller: Use interrupts on these mobs to avoid magic damage from Lightning Bolt and Thundering Squall.
Irontide Buccaneer: side step after Blade Barrage begins channeling to avoid heavy damage.

Harlan Sweete Boss Encounter

It is common (and recommended) to skip the large difficult pack directly in front of the boss. With this in mind, tank Harlan off to the side against the overhang overlooking the dungeon.
Move the boss between one of three markers each time a player is targeted with Cannon Barrage. The cannon barrage flame patches will despawn by the time the boss returns to the first marker.
Use defensives primarily in phase 2 of the fight to help the healer, as the group will take the most damage during this time.
Swiftwind Saber is difficult to see where it is aiming, but can be sidestepped if you are quick and can see who it was targeting right off the bat.
Use Paralysis and Ring of Peace to ensure the Irontide Grenadier does not reach the group.

King's Rest

The Golden Serpent
Trash Mobs in the Area

King’s Rest is very linear, and if you want to skip anything you will have to death skip or stealth past. Groups typically skip the Animated Guardian mobs altogether and start in the Golden Serpent’s room. Do this room in 3 pulls.

Animated Guardian: Beware of the frontal cone cast on a random party member, dodge this at all costs: Suppression Slam.
Shadow-Borne Champion: Try to face the champion away from the group whenever possible, as he will channel Vigilant Defense toward you. Use Ring of Peace to get away from the Champion in times of need, since it is not slowable or crowd controllable by any other means.
Shadow-Borne Witch Doctor: The most dangerous mob for Brewmaster in this area, make sure a 15-second cooldown interrupt is saved for each Shadow Bolt Volley. One melee kick will be up for the cast every time. Use all remaining interrupts on the Deathly Chill cast, which will deal heavy magic damage to the tank when not interrupted. Use the corners in the middle of the room as an LOS point to avoid casts when interrupts are down.
Shadow-Borne Warrior: stand directly on top of these mobs to avoid being hit by the initial Gust Slash that starts in front of the mob. Move the warriors away from their circling gust slashes once a few have gone out.
Minion of Zul: Use Arcane Torrent to instantly kill these (if horde). Otherwise have a mage/druid root the minions, or other dispels.

The Golden Serpent Boss Encounter

Keep the boss away from the Animated Gold adds and utilize Ring of Peace to prevent the adds from moving in when needed. Kite the boss slowly to make sure the adds do not split and go around both sides of the center console at the same time.
Vivify other party members if the healer needs help during Spit Gold casts.

Mchimba the Embalmer
Trash Mobs in the Area

The pack of 3 (King Rahu/ai, Guard captain Atu and Seneschal M’bara) and pack of 5 (King A’akul) in this room are the most dangerous, preferably save Fortifying Brew on one of these two pulls.

King Timalji and Queen Wasi: Use Ring of Peace to keep Timalji against the corner during Bladestorm. Interrupt Shadow Bolt on cooldown. Use Arcane Torrent to free a party member from the Seduction cast if available.
King Rahu'ai, Guard Captain Atu and Seneschal M'bara: Use Ring of Peace to disrupt Channel Lightning once the initial cast finishes. Interrupt Induce Regeneration. Axe Barrage is dodge-able, or you can line of sight the cast by having a Transcendence spirit ready to port to around the corner.
Queen Patlaa and skeletal hunting raptor: Patlaa’s auto shoot ability on the tank is dodge-able and can be quite nice as a Brewmaster as long as Mastery: Elusive Brawler stacks stay up. If you are ever stuck in a Darkshot puddle, roll out to avoid damage as it slows a considerable amount on higher keys.
King A'akul and Bloodsworn agents: cast Detox as soon as a party member gets the Hidden Blade debuff to prevent poison puddles from dropping. Use Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace to reduce damage on this pull.
Purification Construct: bait the Purification Strike to the side of the bridge and reposition the mob in the middle for room to avoid the Purification Beam.
Embalming Fluid: Use a Lightfoot Potion to gather these quickly. Tag the far slimes with Crackling Jade Lightning individually if needed. Group up the slimes and then Leg Sweep. Use Detox to save yourself or party members that get Embalming Fluid stacks.
Interment Construct: Pull both constructs to one side of the room and tank next to the 2 entomb crypts to rescue party members from Entomb quickly. The party member targeted will be put inside the closest tomb to their character.

Mchimba the Embalmer Boss Encounter

Use a defensive on pull, as the boss will melee very hard for about 10 seconds before channeling other abilities.
Use that strong Brewmaster mobility to rescue party members from Entomb quickly.
Tank the boss around the edges of the room to place Burning Ground in convenient places.

The Council of Tribes
Trash Mobs in the Area

Pull the mobs on the way to the Council boss with care, as almost every mob is threatening to the tank. I try to avoid pulling any combination of 3 Hex Priests and Berserkers at a time. The magic damage casts and bleeds overlapping can demolish any tank.

Spectral Hex Priest: deals high magic damage with Spectral Bolt, interrupt this cast as highest priority. Hex is also interruptible but should be left to cast if the group has any kind of Curse dispel.
Spectral Berserker: The most dangerous mob, mark this mob as the first to take out in each pack. Save cooldowns for when Severing Blade is applied. The bleed lasts 9 seconds but the mob will recast most times when the dot has 1 second remaining. Stun or get away from the berserker in that 1 second window to avoid stacking the dot to 2 or 3 stacks. Dampen Harm is especially good for surviving the bleed. The bleed is dodge-able and will target the nearest party member or pet when the tank is out of range. Use this to your advantage with pets or other class abilities that allow dodging the hit.
Spectral Brute: not especially dangerous for brewmaster, use mobility spells to get out of the Ground Crush AOE. This can be delayed by Ring of Peace if need be.
Spectral Beastmaster: watch for the targets of Deadeye Shot and Poison Barrage. Stun or disrupt either cast if the targeted player is caught in a bad position.

The Council of Tribes Boss Encounter

Aka'ali the Conqueror: Tank in the middle of the platform as a Brewmaster. Turn your back to the boss at the last second while soaking Barrel Through to make sure you don’t dodge the hit. Right after, build as many Mastery: Elusive Brawler stacks as you can just before Debilitating Backhand hits to ensure a dodge. If dodging the backhand doesn’t work out, roll away and kite until Shattered Defenses expires.
Kula the Butcher: Tank the boss in the middle of the platform. Use defensives during this phase to lessen the healing requirement on the healer.
Zanazal the Wise: Rotate interrupts on Lightning Bolt. If the group has 2 melee and 1 ranged composition, all casts can be kicked with a proper rotation. Be sure to have one interrupt up for Poison Nova. Take the boss with you to each totem so that melee can help interrupt the boss.

King Dazar
Trash Mobs in the Area

Before the last boss, likely the only mobs remaining are a couple Spectral Berserkers and the Shadow of Zul.

Shadow of Zul: rotate defensives aggressively on Zul regardless of fortified or tyrannical. Start the fight with the healer’s external if available to get it on cooldown. Use Dampen Harm afterwards and then roll away to channel Zen Meditation out of melee range. After Zen med expires you can either kite Zul for quite a while or go back in if it’s safe. Have a Transcendence spirit ready to port out if planning to kite.

Dazar, the First King Boss Encounter

Keep up Ironskin Brew the whole encounter, only use Purifying Brew once right after each Blade Combo finishes.
Use Ring of Peace to keep Reban off of you but still in range for cleave in between his leaps.
Use Fortifying Brew when T'zala is summoned, this is the most dangerous part of the fight.
Use Dampen Harm early in the fight so you get a 2nd or 3rd cast later.

Shrine of the Storm

Trash Mobs in the Area

Shrine requires lots of enemy forces count, and has many packs to choose from. Most groups prefer to skip most packs of mobs in the first area, especially if they are affected by the infested (season one) affix. Be careful of the dangerous casters here.

Temple Attendant: auto casts Water Blast at the tank for heavy magic damage. Focus interrupts on these casts. Coordinate kicks on these mobs to initially move them into the pack. This takes significantly more coordination without the availability of Death Grip for the casters.
Tidesage Spiritualist: Let the Anchor of Binding cast go, as it is sidesteppable. Focus interrupts on the Mending Rapids cast instead.
Shrine Templar: As of 8.1, Protective Aura is now interruptible. Be sure to interrupt this when pulling other mobs with the Templar. In some situations it may be more advantageous to let the cast go, especially on bolstering.
Living Current: Try to avoid this mob, it has a lot of health and will take some time to kill. The dangerous Rising Tides cast can be brutal and line up with other casts to combo the tank. This cast can be LOS’d if a well-placed Transcendence spirit is already down.

Aqu’sirr Boss Encounter

Dodge the Surging Rush casts at all costs. During the intermission phase you can walk completely out of the arena if need be to dodge. The boss will not reset.
Use Paralysis or Leg Sweep to break the Grasp from the Depths mechanic.

Trash Mobs in the Area

Most of the mobs between the 1st and 2nd boss are efficient to pull together and are worth a good chunk of Enemy Forces count. As the tank, watch out for a few things:

Galecaller Apprentice: be aware that Gale Shear targets a random player and knocks them back instantly, this can randomly combo the tank if lined up with other casts.
Windspeaker Heldis: Interrupt the miniboss to move her outside of the Minor Swiftness Ward as soon as possible.
Ironhull Apprentice: Use Paralysis, Ring of Peace and Leg Sweep to disrupt the Whirling Slam casts and maximize damage uptime.
Runecarver Sorn: move the miniboss outside of the Minor Reinforcing Ward as soon as it is cast. Use this ward as an advantage and pull the pack behind the miniboss in to cleave down while under the ward’s protection.
Guardian Elemental: This mob is skippable by pulling it back to the runecarver room while the group hangs out on the left before the bridge, and then moves to cross once the elemental is out of range. If fighting the elemental, tank it near a corner to LOS Shipbreaker Storm if need be.

Tidesage Council Boss Encounter

Focus down Galecaller Faye first.
Rotate three 15-second cooldown kicks to interrupt every Slicing Blast.
Kite the bosses a short distance away each time Blowback spawns. Move the bosses immediately when Reinforcing Ward is cast. This removes all debuffs from the bosses including dots, and is only sometimes avoidable.
Keep Brother Ironhull faced away from the group and side step to avoid the Hindering Cleave cast.

Lord Stormsong
Trash Mobs in the Area

Deepsea Ritualist: Rotate three 15-second cooldown interrupts to cover each Unending Darkness cast.
Tidesage Enforcer: these mobs will not cast Deep Smash on the tank until in melee range. Be careful while kiting, if you need to move through them use a Roll or Transcendence to keep from being smashed. Ring of Peace and Leg Sweep are both nice tools to create space during enforcer pulls.
Abyssal Cultist: Mental Assault is cast toward the tank and is sidestep-able. Aim this away from the group and interrupt Consuming Void.
Colossal Tentacle: If fighting these mobs, stand directly between the 2 tentacles to avoid moving out of range and triggering Colossal Slam on the group.
Abyss Dweller: Small mobs that can be pretty scary on higher fortified keys, make sure to land Keg Smash right in the middle of the pack to deal as much burst as possible. Use Leg Sweep on one side of the pack to stop half of the casts from going out.

Lord Stormsong Boss Encounter

Alternate two 15-second cooldown interrupts to take care of Void Bolt each time.
Kite the boss in a circle around the room to keep out of range of Waken the Void.
Pause moving the boss and be the closest target when Mind Rend is about to be cast. This targets the closest player at the time and is instant-cast, so try to get a feel of when the cast happens during the fight. It is a near one-shot on high tyrannical keys, be prepared to use defensives. *This was changed in 8.1 to be a randomly chosen target instead… save battle rezzes for this in higher keys.

Vol'zith the Whisperer
Trash Mobs in the Area

The 3-pack in front of the boss (Forgotten Denizens and Sunken Denizen): As the tank, run into melee to interrupt the first and third cast of Consume Essence on one of the denizens. Kite when necessary otherwise.
Abyssal Eel: When pulling 2 or more packs of the eels at a time, only fight in melee range for a few seconds. The Abyssal Strike debuff will stack up very fast and be lethal if not careful. When kiting, the hits will go on nearby party members instead, try to take turns taking debuffs once stacks clear.

Vol’zith the Whisperer Boss Encounter

It’s possible to fight the boss before dealing with the trash mobs at all. This saves a little time but I wouldn’t suggest trying it without some practice with the group. Here are a few important details to keep in mind while fighting Vol’zith.

In phase one (while Vol’zith is active and attacking you), be sure to keep the Manifestation of the Deep adds away from the boss by kiting, using Ring of Peace and Paralysis in emergency cases.
Tank the boss around the edges of the room to drop Yawning Gate in convenient places.
Use Provoke often to move the boss out of the puddles as fast as possible.
Maximize threat on the boss and the Sunken Denizen in the intermission by casting Keg Smash and Blackout Kick immediately after Provoke. This is generally best practice to get threat, but is especially important in this encounter because of the DPS gain the healer has because of Whispers of Power.
Coming out of the intermission phase, interrupt and Provoke the boss to start phase one again. Be careful of threat since it resets during the intermission.

Trash Mobs in the Area

Move forward through Siege toward the first boss. There are a couple of notable abilities to watch out for in these pulls.

Kul Tiran Halberd: Face away from the group and side step Slobber Knocker when cast.
Kul Tiran Footman: Very annoying mobs in every pull that inflict Hindering Cut on the tank or the closest target if the tank is not in range. Be mindful of this when the footmen run back toward the group after running in fear.
Kul Tiran Vanguard: Face away from the group and side step Heavy Slash when cast.
Kul Tiran Wavetender: Interrupt Watertight Shell unless a mage in the group wants to Spellsteal the buff.

Sergeant Bainbridge (Horde)/Chopper Redhook (Alliance) Boss encounter Boss Encounter

The typical strategy is to cleave down the Kul Tiran Vanguard/Irontide Cleaver while focusing the boss as he moves around the arena. This is another situation where a group may be used to a death knight using Death Grip to interrupt each Heavy Slash cast. A Brewmaster can emulate this by using Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace but may not have something for every cast. It is in the best interest to focus some damage on the Vanguard to eliminate the threat.
Use Paralysis to keep one of the 2 adds that spawn 20 seconds into the encounter CC’d permanently.
Use Provoke to speed the boss toward one of the bombs whenever possible. *This boss can no longer be taunted as of patch 8.1 (I briefly tested and the provoke debuff does not affect the boss anymore, which will probably cause all taunts to fail.)

Dread Captain Lockwood
Trash Mobs in the Area

Some of the same kind of trash is in the next area before the 2nd boss. The important tactic from this point on is to use the Ashvane Spotter whenever possible to kill other enemy mobs very quickly by landing Sighted Artillery on them.

Ashvane Spotter: There are 3 spotters total in Siege, each should be used to the group’s advantage with the Sighted Artillery mechanic. A random player will be the artillery target, try to position all mobs that are affected by the artillery inside the targeting circles. Commanders, spotters, and Cannoneers are not hurt by the artillery, so don’t worry about positioning those. It is also important to tag a mob with keg smash before they are killed by the hit, otherwise they will not give enemy forces count. The spotter can be difficult to control movement-wise – walk into melee range of the spotter to trigger the mob to follow about 10 seconds. Use Ring of Peace to move the spotter away from sanguine or bosses if they decide to run that way.
Irontide Powdershot: low health mobs that deal heavy damage with Molten Slug, AOE these down quickly or use the Ashvane Spotter to kill them instantly when available.
Irontide Curseblade: seemingly harmless low health mobs, but at higher key levels can combo the tank in one hit. Have a defensive active on pull to avoid dying to Cursed Slash.
Ashvane Commander: Move around to avoid standing in between the commander and the targeted party member during Trample. Use Arcane Torrent (if available) or have another party member purge the mobs affected by Bolstering Shout.
Irontide Raider: deals heavy damage to a party member with Iron Hook, which can be lethal when combined with a Molten Slug. Avoid pulling raiders with too many other mobs.
Blacktar Bomber (alliance): stay spread for the Fire Bomb mechanic.
Ashvane Cannoneer: Be sure to face away from the group, the Broadside frontal is very large and needs to be sidestepped.
Ashvane Deckhand: Deal a fair amount of melee damage as well as frontal cone attacks of their own. Face these away from the group to avoid cleaving anyone with Crimson Swipe.

Dread Captain Lockwood Boss Encounter

Similar to all of the trash mobs before, face the boss away from the group to avoid cleaving anyone with Clear the Deck. Side step this mechanic as well.
Keep the debuff from Keg Smash on the boss to negate the Evasive mechanic. The boss will likely drop the slow during the intermission and will try to hit a party member with Gut Shot when jumping back down from the ship. Place a Ring of Peace to knock the captain midair and cancel the gunshot cast. Then re-apply Keg Smash.
During the intermission be sure to face the Ashvane Cannoneer and Ashvane Deckhand away from the group to manage the frontal cleaves. Avoid the blasts from Dread Volley with whatever means possible. I prefer to set a Transcendence spirit off to the side just in case.

Hadal Darkfathom
Trash Mobs in the Area

Head toward the 3rd boss through the streets. If possible, skip a good chunk of the trash mobs here to reach the pack that has the Ashvane Spotter as fast as possible. Be wary of a few mechanics in these pulls:

Bilge Rat Demolisher: Face away from the group and side step Crushing Slam when cast. Roll away to outrange the Terrifying Roar cast.
Bilge Rat Pillager: face away from the group and outrange Viscous Slobber if possible. This anti-monk debuff prevents using Roll. There may not always be room to outrange this cast, so have a defensive cooldown ready.
Bilge Rat Cutthroat: apply a nasty Rotting Wounds debuff that you should remove with Detox as soon as possible.
BANANAS: Constantly watch where you move around during these pulls to avoid being stunned for 2 seconds. Bilge Rat Buccaneer will toss out additional bananas during the pulls so be sure to Leg Sweep their Banana Rampage when available.

There are a few new mobs in the 3 packs before Hadal Darkfathom, these mobs hit hard and you should have all defensive cooldowns ready if possible. Luckily, the Ashvane Spotter is available to use for these pulls, so use defensives aggressively in order to face-tank and position the mobs to be hit by Sighted Artillery. Keep the mobs still inside the blasts as long as possible.

Ashvane Invader: constantly apply Stinging Venom Coating and give the tank a poison debuff. Remove this from yourself with Detox as soon as possible.
Ashvane Sniper: difficult to control their movement, LOS them back to the open area outside of the boss room. Use Ring of Peace to move them even farther when necessary.

Hadal Darkfathom Boss Encounter

Position the boss facing the outside of the room, move around the outside of the room when necessary to make room for melee.
Stand very close to the middle of the boss’ hitbox or sidestep in order to dodge Crashing Tide.
The statue in the middle should be used to LOS Tidal Surge. The boss will cast Crashing Tide shortly after, aim it toward the edge of the room if possible. Use defensive cooldowns before Break Water erupts to mitigate the heavy magic damage.

Viq'Goth
Viq’Goth Boss Encounter

Get within melee range of the Demolishing Terror quickly and be sure to side step each Slam cast to prevent the tentacle from getting upset and casting Hull Cracker on the party.
Tag the Gripping Terror with Crackling Jade Lightning to apply Mystic Touch on each platform.
A total of 5 Demolishing Terror can spawn eventually on each platform. Keep track of which tentacle is which as you go.
Use Transcendence and Chi Torpedo to quickly move to sides of the platform and tank the Demolishing Terror when they spawn.
Use Bloodlust on the last platform to quickly burn down the Gripping Terror. The first Demolishing Terror on this platform has something like 3 times as much health as any other demolisher making it have nearly as much health as the last Gripping Terror. In most cases it’s most realistic to burn the gripping tentacle and fire the cannon to end the fight before everyone dies.

Temple of Sethraliss

Adderis and Aspix

Temple is a linear dungeon with more trash than needed for enemy forces count, unless you are able to skip some packs. Definitely use Shroud of Concealment or Demitri's Draught of Deception without a rogue to skip packs at the beginning. Head either left or right from the start, the mobs vary slightly from side to side. The notable difference is that the 3rd pack on the right side has a Sandfury Stonefist and gives slightly more enemy forces count.

Trash Mobs in the Area

Sandfury Stonefist: Deals the most tank damage, use defensives primarily for the stonefist. Tank with your back to the wall to avoid the knockback from Ground Pound. Use Fortifying Brew on whichever pull contains this guy in your route.
Sandswept Marksman: Watch for Neurotoxin to go out on a party member and use Detox to take it off quickly.
Charged Dust Devil: be sure to interrupt Healing Surge.
Shrouded Fang: Invisible until pulled, these mobs will stun the tank for 2-3 seconds as soon as you engage them. Put up Dampen Harm or a healer external while rolling into packs with shrouded fangs.

Adderis and Aspix Boss Encounter

Start on Adderis, and tank the bosses a good distance apart to avoid any self-harm from Lightning Shield.
Side step to avoid Cyclone Strike. Watch who was targeted and where they were standing for the best indication of where the frontal cone will hit.
Reduce the damage taken from Static Shock as much as possible by timing a Zen Meditation just before it hits. If timed just right, Zen Med won’t be broken from a melee by the boss before it hits. Use Dampen Harm if a 2nd cast occurs later in the fight.
While Adderis is shielded, watch out for the Arc Dash animation that appears before the damage goes out. Move yourself and the boss away from the path of the dash to dodge it.
Interrupt Gust whenever possible, but don’t run up to kick while Lightning Shield is on the boss.

Merektha
Trash Mobs in the Area

Detox is very useful throughout Temple, be sure to use it as frequently as possible.

Scaled Krolusk Rider: face away from the group for both Cleave and Noxious Breath. Keep track of the casts to know when it is safe to move the mob around without assassinating your healer. This is particularly important on necrotic and sanguine weeks when moving around more than usual.
Sand-crusted Striker: this is the mob that spawns Dust Cloud, so focus it down first. Use Ring of Peace to move mobs out of the dust clouds initially. Leg Sweep to delay the 2nd dust cloud cast.
Sandswept Marksman: Difficult to move as a brewmaster, you have to outrange the mob or use Ring of Peace to move it when necessary. Avoid dropping sanguine on this mob.
Crazed Incubator: applies a high damage poison Venomous Spit, Detox it off as soon as possible. Interrupt Lightning in a Bottle or choose to move once it goes off. It will land where the tank was standing the moment it casts. Roll away as Pyrrhic Blast starts casting to avoid the blast.
Faithless Tender: Priority interrupts on these mobs. Greater Healing Potion can be handled by one 15-second cooldown interrupt, so divide the interrupts between tank and melee mostly. Tenders also apply Venomous Spit. Tenders will attempt to Drain the closest egg nearby, be sure to disrupt this cast with Leg Sweep or Paralysis.

Merektha Boss Encounter

Start the boss facing to the edge of a room to properly bait the Noxious Breath into a good spot. The breath happens every few seconds in phases 1 and 3.
After picking up threat on the Venomous Ophidians in the intermission, use Detox to clear off the Cytotoxin stacks.
Use Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace to disrupt the Dust Cloud casts when the 2nd group of snakes arrives.
Use Paralysis to free group members from A Knot of Snakes whenever it is available. Leg Sweep also works.

Galvazzt
Trash Mobs in the Area

Agitated Nimbus: Coordinate interrupts on Accumulate Charge. Two 15-second interrupts can take care of one nimbus mob’s casts by alternating back and forth. Use purges and interrupts on the 2nd nimbus carefully, if pulling two at once. Use Fortifying Brew and Dampen Harm on these pulls aggressively, as they deal a great deal of tank damage.
Imbued Stormcaller: Interrupt Shock if possible but the higher priority is on the nimbus casts. Avoid tanking this mob near the Merektha boss room, as the animation from Call Lightning is hidden beneath the rocks around the room.
Static-charged Dervish: randomly shock group members with Electrocute. Mark yourself as the tank and show where the dervishes are about to teleport to. They will port directly to your hitbox, so position accordingly to avoid infested or sanguine healing, or harming anyone else with the AOE damage. Use Ring of Peace to move these mobs the moment sanguine drops, as the dervishes drop 5 stacks each (which will instantly heal every other mob to full).

Galvazzt Boss Encounter

Position the boss in the middle of the room for maximum visibility of the pillars that spawn.
It is optimal to have a 4-man rotation of soaks, one group member at a time per one pillar that spawns. Brewmaster can help soak if needed as a backup, but the boss deals quite a lot of tank damage at the same time so it can be risky.
Use Dampen Harm on pull in higher keys to get a 2nd use later in the fight. Use healer externals frequently to reduce as much damage as possible. Use Purifying Brew generously during Bloodlust even on low damage to take out as much healing required as possible, as long as Ironskin Brew doesn’t drop.
If several ticks of Galvanize go through to the boss, be ready to use Zen Meditation on the Consume Charge cast to survive.

Get through the mazes of Loose Sparks after defeating Galvazzt. At the end will be a single mob before the gauntlet.

Spark Channeler: Trade off 15-second cooldown interrupts to manage the Shock casts. Avoid Call Lightning.

In the Bazaar of Watchful Eyes, the goal is to put the 2 eyes into the Skull of Sethraliss as fast as possible. There are many ways to do this. The fastest way yet may be to pop a Lightfoot Potion and collect every mob that will be between the eyes and the skull. Be sure to tag the 4 invisible Orb Guardians on the way to pull them out of stealth. Have the group take care of the eyes once the mobs are kited away. Use Leg Sweep, Ring of Peace and defensives to survive long enough to make this happen. After the eyes are in, die to get mass-resurrected forward, or choose to AOE everything down. Either way works fine.

The packs of mobs that are up next deal very heavy tank damage, and should be stealth or death skipped for now if possible.
Heart Guardian: Heart Attack stacks infinitely and will destroy the tank once a few stacks are up. These mobs cannot be slowed or stunned in any way. They are also immune to Ring of Peace.
Hoodoo Hexer: interrupt Lava Burst whenever available.
Plague Doctor: interrupt Chain Lightning whenever available.

Take out the 4 Hoodoo hexers before engaging the last boss. On higher keys pull these 2 at a time, and interrupt only one per each set of casts that goes out. This will ensure they do not happen to combo a party member at the same time. On sanguine weeks, try to anticipate where the Hoodoo Hexers will spawn and drop the sanguine puddles somewhere else.

Avatar of Sethraliss Boss Encounter

Watch for and tank the Heart Guardian as soon as possible. Use Dampen Harm on every other heart guardian spawn. Ironbark lines up with each spawn if running with a druid. Use Fortifying Brew on the guardian you do not have another external for.
Tank both guardians and Plague Doctors on top of Hoodoo Hexers for efficient damage from the group. Use Provoke often to speed the mobs toward the hexers.
Anytime Rain of Toads comes out, soak the toads by running directly on top of them. Use movement abilities to do this as fast as possible. Chi Torpedo or Tiger's Lust are very nice to have here. Throw a Ring of Peace on top of your healer during this phase for the ultimate protection from the toads, as they will fixate and go directly toward the healer. Save Detox for the healer if they are a class that cannot dispel disease, as the Plague debuff will prevent any healing from going out for some time. If the healer is safe, use Detox on yourself to clear stacks after soaking toads.
Once past the first few phases of the fight, and the Empowerment buff becomes active, have party members pull the 2 packs of mobs that were skipped into the boss fight if they are still alive. The tank is nearly invulnerable in this phase, with the notable exception of on necrotic weeks. You will need to drop necrotic at about 30 stacks, so prepare a Transcendence spirit and a couple Roll to ensure you drop the debuff and live.

Coin-Operated Crowd Pummeler
Trash Mobs in the Area

Motherlode is divided into 4 large sections, each with a bunch of trash mobs that only appear in their area, followed by a boss. The first two areas of mobs (before Crowd Pummeler and Azerokk) are by far the most efficient areas to pull mobs for enemy forces count. The last two sections of trash (before Rixxa and Mogul) are extremely difficult pulls and slow on top of that.

Head toward the first boss and pull a lot of trash along the way. Be sure to line up the biggest pulls with big DPS cooldowns such as Metamorphosis and Incarnation: Chosen of Elune.

Off-Duty Laborer: Upon entering combat will cast Throw Wrench at the player to engage them. This is something Brewmasters can easily survive, so capitalize and pull upwards of 10-15 laborers at a time if need be.
Refreshment Vendor: Continually casts a series of Iced Spritzer and Kaja'Cola Refresher. Both casts are critical to interrupt. Save all interrupts for these mobs while they are alive in the pulls. Avoid pulling more than 2-3 at a time unless knowing for sure that the group has the Crowd Control abilities and damage to deal with the pull. Be sure to use Ring of Peace, Leg Sweep and Paralysis to disrupt these casts whenever available.
Mech Jockey: If ever possible, pull a mech jockey and let it finish the Activate Mech cast. As long as the jockey was tagged by damage in some way, it will give enemy forces count while being cleaved down inside the Peacekeeper. This is preferable because while inside the mech suit, Jockeys are unable to cast Grease Gun which is very dangerous and nearly one-shots the closest player on high fortified keys. Try not to pull more than 2 Mech Jockeys at a time if they cannot get inside a Peacekeeper, as the grease guns will combo a melee player to death.
Mechanized Peacekeeper: Plan to pull many peacekeepers in the dungeon, as they are worth quite a lot of enemy forces count. Peacekeepers attack in short bursts in between casting other abilities that will not harm the tank. Be careful after the Charged Shield cast finishes and the Peacekeeper melees for a few seconds. Brewmaster is a great tank for these mechs, and can pull several together at a time even on high fortified keys with ease. Try to tank facing away from the group so that Energy Shield channels in a convenient direction. Kiting around an area in a slow circle is usually the best option.
Hired Assassin: Priority interrupts on the Toxic Blades cast. If the cast does successfully finish, disrupt the Fan of Knives afterwards with Leg Sweep, Ring of Peace or Paralysis. Use Detox as an extra backup measure if ever poisoned by the toxic blades.
Addled Thug: melee hard but are easily kitable. Use the many mobility spells that are found in the spellbook of the speedy drunken brawler tank.

Coin-Operated Crowd Pummeler Boss Encounter

Tank the boss along the edges of the room, and move quickly after Throw Coins finishes (be sure to use Provoke for the speed increase!). It is usually possible to prevent the boss from absorbing coins with Coin Magnet by moving quickly, but not always. Sometimes the cast sequence on the fight reverses, causing the boss to absorb the coins immediately after throwing them down.
Face the boss away from the group to bait Shocking Claw in a convenient direction (this only targets tanks and melee players).
Rotate defensive cooldowns on Static Pulse when available.

Azerokk
Trash Mobs in the Area

The trash mobs in this area are very efficient to clear as well, and can be done in large pulls if coordinated correctly. When pulling big, the goal is to emulate a mass-grip as best as possible. Use a Lightfoot Potion before going in, and tag all the packs near the same time. Loop back around and funnel them into a spot as best you can before running back in and using Leg Sweep. It is particularly difficult in areas like this, where the casters will stop and start casting 1-2 seconds after being pulled. It takes practice. Before pulling big here, keep the following dangerous mechanics in mind:

Venture Co. Earthshaper: The de facto tank killer in high level keys, if several Rock Lances successfully cast and hit the tank, it is very difficult to live. Let the long Earth Shield casts go through and use dispels/purges instead, so that all interrupts are available for the Rock Lance casts. Use Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace at opportune times to delay the lance casts as long as possible. In dire situations where interrupts have run out, roll away from the pack and channel Zen Meditation to absorb some rock lances.
Wanton Sapper: make it difficult to stay in melee range, dance around the edges of Mining Charge placed everywhere during the big pulls. Move out of Final Blast.
Mine Rat: Target the closest player with Throw Rock; Be as close as possible to absorb these casts. Physical damage is hardly a worry to Brewmaster and will save melee DPS lives.
Azerite Extractor: Deal heavy melee damage and immune to crowd controls and slows. Aim Power Through away from the group and side step once it starts channeling. On necrotic weeks this is a good time to roll away and drop stacks as well.
Fanatical Driller: Appears after the extractor is defeated, this is basically a Mech Jockey and uses the same Grease Gun mechanic.
Stonefury: Interrupt Furious Quake as priority. Similar to Earthshapers, let the Tectonic Barrier cast go through and use dispels/purges to remove it to save interrupts.
Taskmaster Askari: Askari’s pack can be dangerous, be sure to use defensives here as you will not need them for the boss after. Move the pack away from Askari with Ring of Peace as soon as Cover starts channeling. Face Askari away from the group to avoid frontal cleave damage from Broad Slash.

Azerokk Boss Encounter

Tank in the middle initially to gather in the 4 fixating Earthragers close to the boss.
On the first cast of Resonant Quake, use Ring of Peace to gather the elementals as close together as possible, then Leg Sweep to stop all 4 casts. Use Paralysis for any outlier elementals that sweep could not hit.
Aim the Tectonic Smash frontal cone away from the group and side step it to dodge.

Rixxa Fluxflame
Trash Mobs in the Area

On higher keys, skip this area if possible. The trash mobs are very unforgiving and dangerous. If some of these mobs do need to be pulled, beware of the following:

Weapons Tester: Aim Echo Blade away from the group. Watch for Force Cannon and side step to dodge.
Feckless Assistant: Use defensives aggressively on the Blowtorch cast to tank it. It can be stopped, but interrupts will likely be used on other important casts. Interrupt Transfiguration Serum as high priority.
Venture Co. Mastermind: Mind Lash will deal high magic damage to the tank, usually at the same time as other mobs in the pulls dealing high magic damage.

Rixxa Fluxflame Boss Encounter

Use defensives while Chemical Burn is inflicting damage alongside the boss’s auto-attacks. The boss attacks with magic damage auto attacks, which are dodgeable, but deal a high amount of damage when they connect.
Tank Rixxa in the middle of the platform when possible, and move away from azerite puddles whenever needed.
Stand closest to Rixxa to ensure you receive one of the two Chemical Burn debuffs each time.

Mogul Razdunk
Trash Mobs in the Area

More dangerous and slow-to-pull mobs in this area. Be careful of the following mob mechanics:

Crawler Mine: burst down with Keg Smash and Breath of Fire from range whenever possible.
Venture Co. Skyscorcher: Stand in between the mob and its target during Azerite Heartseeker to soak and likely dodge the hit entirely.
Venture Co. War Machine: Deal moderate damage with Charged Shot. As long as Ironskin Brew is up it doesn’t hit too hard. Summons more mines while in combat, this is super annoying. Have fun!
Expert Technician: Interrupt Repair as highest priority. Use spare interrupts on Overcharge when available. This can also be purged if available, which will free up more interrupts.

Mogul Razdunk Boss Encounter

Position the boss in clear zones where B.O.O.M.B.A. are not aiming to fire Micro Missiles. Using one end of the platform to move the boss slightly each time works best.
The boss is difficult to move and often stops to channel a cast of Gatling Gun or Homing Missile. Use Provoke in between casts to move the boss quickly.
Gatling Gun is dodge-able and should not be worried about as a Brewmaster.
The real danger of the fight is Mogul’s magic damage auto attacks in the form of Alpha Cannon. The boss will auto attack 5-6 times in a row in phases. Use defensive cooldowns whenever possible to negate the cannon hits. Channel Zen Meditation as an option since there is no physical damage going out that would break it. This is one of the most effective uses of the ability if lined up well in this fight.
Simliar to the trash mobs before, soak Azerite Heartseeker by standing in its path to aid party members.
Use Ring of Peace to gather the Venture Co. Skyscorcher during the intermission.

Elder Leaxa
Trash Mobs in the Area

The trash mobs in the beginning are difficult, but doable with the changes in patch 8.1. It was optimal to skip all of the trash up until the first boss, but now 2-3 pulls can be done before heading to the boss. The normal strategy was to use a rogue’s Shroud of Concealment or other invisibility until patch 8.1 changes made the Matrons see through stealth.

Chosen Blood Matron: Sees through stealth and has several dangerous abilities. Savage Cleave should be side stepped. Warcry makes pulling this mob with any other mobs very difficult. Be sure to use Soothe from any hunters or druids present. Time defensive cooldowns while warcry is active for 8 seconds on the mobs.
Fanatical Headhunter: Time Leg Sweep to stop Hooked Snare from casting.
Devout Blood Priest: Dark Reconstitution is the priority cast to interrupt. Gift of G'huun can be purged from the mob, so save interrupts if the group has one available.
Fetid Maggot: maggots have one dangerous ability called Rotten Bile. This needs to be stopped by some sort of stun or CC each time it is cast, or just dodged. It is good rule of thumb to have a rotation on disrupting these casts any time there is a maggot in the pull. Use Ring of Peace, Leg Sweep and Paralysis to help stop casts.
Underrot Tick: Quickly apply a nasty Blood Maw bleed. This is dangerous bleed for a Brewmaster, so get out of melee range quickly after getting threat on the ticks.

Elder Leaxa Boss Encounter

Rotate interrupts to take care of as many Blood Bolt casts as possible. If all casts can be covered, no real healing needs to be done and everyone can damage the boss as much as possible.
As of patch 8.1, there is no longer a soft enrage at 1 minute into the fight (thank you Blizz).
Drag the boss to the Blood Effigy as soon as it spawns to make interrupts and damage more efficient. Unfortunately, Ring of Peace does not work on these adds.
Even with perfect coordination one or two casts will go off from the boss add on higher keys. Plan to spread Dampen Harm, Fortifying Brew and Zen Meditation for different casts. A defensive must be up, or you will die to the bolt in one hit on the highest level.

Cragmaw the Infested
Trash Mobs in the Area

All trash mobs surrounding Cragmaw need to be pulled prior to engaging the boss. Divide these pulls into manageable amounts of mobs. In higher level keys, make sure to include no more than one Feral Bloodswarmer in a pull at a time.

Fetid Maggot: same as in the first section of the dungeon, rotate CC’s to disrupt Rotten Bile.
Feral Bloodswarmer: One melee 15-second cooldown interrupt will take care of Sonic Screech each time it is cast. Aid the player fixated by Thirst For Blood with Ring of Peace. Focus these down first when in the pull.
Diseased Lasher: one melee 15-second cooldown interrupt will take care of Decaying Mind. If pulling several lashers at a time, Brewmaster can take care of two Decaying Mind casts each time by interrupting one, and using Detox to remove the disease of another. Use this to your advantage in pulling up to 5 lashers at once.

Cragmaw the Infested Boss Encounter

Tank the boss very close to a wall to reduce how far Charge will take him.
Aim Indigestion away from group members, and Roll away from the boss as he casts to outrange it. Soak the Blood Tick larvae on the way back in to the boss.
Rotate use of Zen Meditation and Dampen Harm during Tantrum casts. Soak as many larvae as possible with the use of Chi Torpedo or Tiger's Lust.

Sporecaller Zancha
Trash Mobs in the Area

The trash packs in the rest of the dungeon are great for enemy forces count and not all that dangerous with a good strategy. As a Brewmaster it is relatively easy to pull several skeleton packs at the same time, use this to your advantage.

Reanimated Guardians and Fallen Deathspeaker: Interrupt Raise Dead as priority while using purges to take off Bone Shield. Use all defensive cooldowns on pull to get threat before kiting. You will want to be out of range before Wicked Frenzy is cast, which will continually apply a very nasty magic debuff to the tank. The healer will only be able to dispel this every few seconds, so be careful. Since the debuff is applied from melee attacks, kiting is necessary on mid-high level keys for survival.
Grotesque Horror: rotate interrupts on Void Spit.
Bloodsworn Defiler: Carefully rotate interrupts on the Defilers, especially in the pack of 2. One melee 15-second cooldown interrupt can handle every other Defiler cast. Start with melee interrupts, use ranged interrupts on the 2nd wave of casts, then back to melee kicks on the 3rd. If anything goes wrong with the kick order, use Ring of Peace to stop a cast if necessary.

Sporecaller Zancha Boss Encounter

Tank the boss along the ring of spore pods around the room. Aim the Shockwave along the ring to soak the maximum number of pods each time.
Use defensive cooldowns before each Shockwave cast. Zen Meditation can be timed just before the hit for a big damage reduction.
Use Detox as a soaking tool. Roll out to soak missed spore pods before Festering Harvest finishes casting to save the group. After soaking, Detox the stacks off. Do the same for party members if need be.

Unbound Abomination
Trash Mobs in the Area

More of the same good, efficient trash mobs are in this area. There is one new mob to worry about that is mixed in:

Faceless Corruptor: Move to dodge both Maddening Gaze and Abyssal Reach. Use Ring of Peace to disrupt a Gaze cast that looks like it might take someone in the party out.

Unbound Abomination Boss Encounter

Position the boss facing one direction consistently. As long as the party is all on board with moving the same direction and baiting the Vile Expulsion together, any direction is fine. Use Roll to avoid Expulsion damage.
Avoid tanking too close to the outer walls, as some Vile Expulsion puddles may bounce off and land in unintended positions.
Once Blood Visages appear, pick up threat on the one that Titan Keeper Hezrel is not attacking and then use Ring of Peace to keep it from dealing damage to you until Hezrel arrives.
Be sure to stand in the Cleansing Light cast each time to clear Putrid Blood stacks.

Tol Dagor

The Sand Queen
Trash Mobs in the Area

The whole first area of Tol Dagor can be pulled at once if it is an affix week that allows for it (maybe not on bolstering or explosive). The group will also need stealth or death skips for other parts of the dungeon if doing this pull, because otherwise you will end up far over Enemy Forces count by the end. Nevertheless, if skips are an option then pull big here.

Sewer Vicejaws and Silt Crabs

Keep out of melee range of all mobs in this area. All of the melee range mechanics are very dangerous in large numbers (Massive Chomp and Squeeze).
Gather big pulls out here on a mount, funnel everything in close together, then run in to start the pull. Leg Sweep right away for safety and then get out of melee range after 2-3 seconds. Use Summon Black Ox Statue to mass taunt everything right before a Keg Smash for a huge spike of threat that should make kiting very easy. Alternatively, use Ring of Peace after sweeping to keep the mobs still for a few more seconds and tightly grouped.
Use Tiger's Lust to free yourself or others from Squeeze when available.
Stinging Parasite: Apply a stacking bleed, get out of melee after a few stacks. You will need to be out of melee anyway for the big pull, though, so the melee DPS get to deal with the stacks!

The Sand Queen Boss Encounter

Either Ring of Peace or Summon Black Ox Statue are both good choices for this encounter. I personally prefer to run statue for the first big pull and boss, then run out of the instance to change talents after the boss. Put down statue every time Buzzing Drones spawn to group them quickly and redirect damage off of yourself. The drones no longer melee or apply necrotic stacks anymore, as of patch 8.1. Lightly AOE the drones while they are attacking the statue to avoid pulling threat. This way our statue friend can absorb the bleed stacks for free.
Reposition the boss away from Sand Traps each time new traps spawn.
On Upheaval casts, it is possible to dodge the hit with a well-timed Transcendence, which may be required to live sometimes during high level keys. Put down the spirit away from group members and roll farther to a safe location. Use Transcendence as the boss shoots toward you underground to dodge the hit entirely. The same thing can also be done by rolling. If not comfortable attempting this, you can also time a Zen Meditation on an upheaval hit to greatly reduce the damage.
Avoid damaging the drones at all before the boss casts Upheaval. The boss will get stacks of Enrage each time a drone dies, and will greatly increase the risk of a group member dying to Upheaval.

Jes Howlis
Trash Mobs in the Area

This dungeon is probably the most rogue-friendly dungeon of all time. Bring a rogue to unlock shortcut pathways, cages to unlock group buffs, extra mobs for enemy forces count, and several nice skips. If there is no rogue, be sure to bring an Encriptionist or Blacksmith with Scroll of Unlocking or Monelite Skeleton Key if available.

The trash mobs on the way to Jes Howlis have some troublesome mechanics. sanguine is a particularly difficult affix in this area because it is so tightly packed with small hallways and mobs all over. In addition, almost every mob will run in fear at 30% health, making sanguine puddles extremely difficult to control and prevent healing. To combat this, pull packs far back to a more open area when possible, and use Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace to stop the mobs from running directly into sanguine. Try to pull packs with equal health mobs to avoid an early sanguine puddle from prolonging the pull.

Irontide Thug: Interrupt Debilitating Shout, this mob deals high melee damage.
Cutwater Striker: Spam Throw Rock on the tank. To move these mobs you will need to use Ring of Peace or LOS to pull them around corners.
Bilge Rat Looter: not particularly dangerous mobs on their own, but can add up on big pulls. Beware of the large spike of incoming damage when the looters cast Darkstep and instantly strike from behind. If you are a Blood elf, hit Arcane Torrent right away when all the looters step to you. On the necrotic affix, these mobs will prevent dropping stacks with the Darkstep mechanic. Even a well-timed Ring of Peace might not prevent the stacks from refreshing, so be very careful.
Blacktooth Arsonist: Torch Strike stacks up quickly and should be dispelled when possible.
Bilge Rat Seaspeaker: deals high magic damage to the tank with Salt Blast. Watery Dome is the higher priority cast to interrupt here, but use everything else possible to stop salt blasts. Leg Sweep, Ring of Peace and Paralysis will do the job when needed. Use LOS to save yourself from a deadly salt blast as well. Use Arcane Torrent instead of an interrupt on a watery dome cast if you are Blood Elf.
Irontide Raider: raiders are in the cells around the Jes Howlis area. Free them before the boss fight using a rogue or profession item and add to the pulls for extra enemy forces count. If they are manually broken out of the cells they will bolster/burst/drop sanguine and also give count, but if the boss breaks them out during the encounter, they will do none of these things. However, they will apply necrotic either way.

Jes Howlis Boss Encounter

Tank the boss near a corner in phase one, so that the group may easily LOS the Flashing Daggers cast.
Rotate interrupts on Howling Fear.
Use defensive cooldowns in phase two once the Motivating Cry cast has been interrupted and several adds are on you as well. Use Ring of Peace here as a defensive as well.
Coordinate interrupts in phase 2 carefully, as both bosses will cast Howling Fear. This is a new worry to deal with in patch 8.1, as the boss now needs to be interrupted immediately during Motivating Cry. Assign a 3rd interrupt to take care of Vicious Mauling as well.

Knight Captain Valyri
Trash Mobs in the Area

The trash mobs on the way to Valyri have significantly more health than the mobs before. This trash is difficult to group up as a Brewmaster because of the many ranged mobs that stand in place and shoot at the tank. Use LOS and Ring of Peace as much as possible to quickly group up the pulls. This area is fantastic for enemy forces count though, as the cannons absolutely destroy the mobs.

Since these mobs have so much health, use the cannons to your advantage around the outside areas of the jail. Rotate with your DPS when possible and hop in the cannon, fire a few times, and get back out. This will ensure you retain plenty of threat on the mobs. The cannon damage is important in high keys, so keep the mobs grouped up for efficient and quick pulls. LOS and Ring of Peace are key grouping mobs in this area. Use the cannon to blast and knockback the mobs constantly to stop their casts from going through.

Ashvane Jailer: will channel Riot Shield every 10-15 seconds. Use Paralysis or Leg Sweep to interrupt this and allow ranged DPS to deal optimal damage. This cast also prevents interrupts that are “spells” like Counterspell or Solar Beam.
Ashvane Officer: interrupt Handcuff whenever available.
Ashvane Marine: Spams Shoot on the tank. These mobs are not particularly dangerous for Brewmaster, but are quite annoying to move around. Use LOS or Ring of Peace whenever possible to move the mob into position. Aim Suppression Fire away from the group.
Ashvane Spotter: There is a single spotter just before getting to the outdoors area. This mob can be skipped, but if pulled beware of Suppression Fire and an automatically exploding barrel nearby.
Ashvane Flamecaster: Avoid standing in Fuselighter. Focus interrupts on Blaze which deals heavy magic damage to the tank.

Knight Captain Valyri Boss Encounter

Tank the boss in the middle of the room as default between moving out of barrel explosions.
Help move barrels at all times, it is optimal for tank/healer to primarily take care of the mechanic.
As of patch 8.1, all monk movement abilities work while running barrels. Use Roll and Transcendence throughout the fight.
When moving barrels, move them into far corners, not necessarily to the same corner each time. Be ready to drop a barrel if the boss targets you with Fuselighter.
The biggest part of the fight is to ensure that a chain reaction doesn’t start with barrels igniting other barrels over and over. If moved properly into the nearest corner, this shouldn’t happen.

Overseer Korgus
Trash Mobs in the Area

Ashvane Warden: There is one other warden before this point, who was in the Jes Howlis area. Sometimes he is there and sometimes he is not. It’s unclear if he just gets killed by the other mobs or goes off on a journey randomly. Either way, the one warden before Jes, and the three before Korgus have one mechanic to dodge – Lockdown. You may need to kite the wardens, as they deal significant melee damage.
Ashvane Priest: Be sure to interrupt Inner Flames or purge it from the mobs if a cast gets off. Stay away to dodge Righteous Flames. (Honestly just ignore their mechanics and blast them with the cannon).

Overseer Korgus Boss Encounter

Position the boss in such a way that the healer and ranged DPS in the group have a corner or wall to be knocked into without worry. There are several good spots to tank the boss, around the corners of the platform.
The fight revolves around surviving Explosive Burst casts which will prioritize ranged DPS and the healer. Use Dampen Harm when the mechanic targets you as a Brewmaster or time a Zen Meditation for the initial damage. Watch for when the fight’s cast sequence becomes desynced and the boss starts back-to-back Explosive Burst casts, dealing much more damage to the group than usual. The debuff does not stack anymore but the burst still comes in a second time while the party is still healing up, so be ready to cast Vivify on one of the targeted players to help them survive the second hit.
Help soak Deadeye whenever you do not have the debuff from a previous deadeye shot. The goal here is to capitalize on dodging as many casts as possible as a Brewmaster. Cast Blackout Kick at least once during the Deadeye cast. This should give as high a chance as possible to dodge the Deadeye with the use of our handy mastery Mastery: Elusive Brawler.
Set a Transcendence spirit right where you tank the boss to easily port back if you are ever knocked back by Deadeye.

Waycrest Manor

Waycrest has a lot to plan for in advance. From the start, pull the Soul Essence mobs all together, maybe even with the next pull at the same time on tyrannical weeks. Use a Lightfoot Potion to bring it all together quickly.

The dungeon will start either Upper Left, Upper Right, or Lower Right as a random chance. For the sake of this guide and boss order, assume the Upper Left path is open. Keep in mind that several types of Witches spawn throughout the dungeon when you get near to their location. These witches are on a weekly rotation of which ones spawn, and will be consistent regardless of which doors open. There are three different types of witches that could spawn in each location. They cannot be slowed or crowd controlled in any way, so beware of their heavy melee hits as well as the following:

Heartsbane Runeweaver: Face Marking Cleave away from the group. Move away as it starts casting to outrange the hit. Interrupt Etch whenever possible.
Heartsbane Soulcharmer: Soul Bolt should be interrupted as much as possible as priority. Soul Volley doesn’t deal much damage in high keys and can be ignored. Move the pack out of Warding Candles immediately. The soulcharmer must be interrupted afterwards to move.
Heartsbane Vinetwister: interrupt Grasping Thorns whenever possible.

Heartsbane Triad
Trash Mobs in the Area

Enthralled Guards and Bewitched Captains: Both mobs deal extremely heavy melee damage, you will usually need to kite the packs for the majority of the pull. Beware of Focused Strike and Shadow Cleave. The cleave will erratically go toward group members in melee range if the tank is out of range. The melee players can use the strategy of moving away just as the casts go out to dodge as well.
Thistle Acolyte: interrupt Bone Splinter as priority, and Drain Essence when possible.
Blight Toad: On higher keys, Blighted Lick actually deals a substantial amount of magic damage. Have a defensive cooldown ready when pulling both packs of toads at once.

Heartsbane Triad Boss Encounter

Sister Solena, Sister Malady and Sister Briar

Pull the active sister near to the other sisters when possible. The bosses tend to melee another party member when the tank is out of range since they are rooted when not active.
Rotate interrupts on the active Sister’s cast. Rotating between three 15-second cooldown interrupts are enough to handle every cast.
Watch for the Focusing Iris to move to a new Sister and Provoke as soon as it moves. It is difficult to retain threat beforehand since you are unable to deal damage to it.
Use defensives when Sister Solena and Sister Malady are active to reduce party damage. While Malady is active, jump in place constantly to avoid damage from Aura of Dread.
Help the healer top off a party member hit by Jagged Nettles while Sister Briar is active. One or two casts of Vivify can make a big difference.
Use Bloodlust on this boss for sure, as there is a big DPS check in the form of healing required and a timer on Dire Ritual that will most likely wipe the group.

Soulbound Goliath
Trash Mobs in the Area

The flame patches that spawn from lightning strikes affect every mob that spawns in the courtyard area. Tank the mobs in the fire patches whenever convenient.

Coven Thornshaper: By default, focus interrupts on Soul Fetish (If the group has several purges, this may not be necessary). Infected Thorn is a high damage disease on a random party member, and is very dangerous if stacked. Use Detox to clear these out. The 3rd spell to watch for is Effigy Reconstruction. This only needs to be interrupted if a Thornguard is alive in the pull.
Thornguard: Not dangerous by themselves, but can be made very dangerous with the Soul Fetish buff in addition to Enrage. If you are a Blood Elf, use Arcane Torrent as soon as the thornguard receives the buff.
Jagged Hounds: the hounds die quickly and are not usually an issue. On necrotic the number of mobs hitting you will be substantial, so use Ring of Peace as soon as they are all gathered to stay alive.
Matron Bryndle: Channels Thorned Barrage every 10 seconds or so. Try to move the Matron into fire in between her casts. Surprisingly, her melee attacks do significantly more damage than the barrage.

Soulbound Goliath Boss Encounter

This boss is a fun mini-game for Brewmaster of “how many stacks can you survive.” Brew has the best tank toolkit in the game for surviving the encounter so feel free to let the boss go up to 50+ stacks of Soul Harvest in high level keys. If not using Bloodlust you may want to play it safe and soak the stacks once or twice by dragging the boss through fire. Even then, as a Brewmaster you probably only need to soak once or twice at most.
Before soaking the boss in fire, be sure Soul Thorns is not about to go out and trap the healer.
Prioritize Blackout Kick just before the boss casts Crush to dodge the hit. Since the boss has such a slow melee swing, lots of melee hits will be dodged as well and you should be able to plan on using Purifying Brews in advance. Have one ready just in case Crush hits successfully, or two melee’s land in a row.
Tank the boss in the middle circle where he spawns to avoid soaking fire early or on accident.

Raal the Gluttonous
Trash Mobs in the Area

Heavily use Transcendence and LOS to gather the pulls in this whole area. Every pull should be brought back to a more open space to avoid frontal cleaves and traps, and to kite in general. Transcendence can be extremely useful here because of which doors might be open or closed. As an example - Set your spirit down in the courtyard, use a Lightfoot Potion to gather the whole pig room and then Transcendence back outside to safely gather everything (even if the door to the courtyard is closed). After gathering the pulls, use Ring of Peace as the mobs funnel through a door to tightly group them together. After Ring of Peace expires, run in and Leg Sweep for an extra delay on their casts.

Devouring Maggot: the smallest and maybe the most dangerous mob in the whole area. Spit casts on random targets but when stacked will deal heavy magic damage. When pulling the mobs initially, this is one reason to Transcendence back through a wall to avoid several casts of spit. As the maggots come around the corner use Leg Sweep to delay the casts even more. If going for even more damage reduction, LOS the casts behind a corner. If and when you are targeted by 4-5 spit casts at once, roll out of the pack and channel Zen Meditation to survive the damage. Interrupt Infest if ever possible. If it gets off, the new maggots do not burst or bolster though.
Infected Peasant: Not entirely dangerous on their own, but each peasant does spawn 3 more Devouring Maggot upon death. These maggots give count as enemy forces and also follow the rules of burst, sanguine and bolstering.
Pallid Gorger: leap to the furthest target with Ravaging Leap, this will often be on the tank while kiting. After leaping, the gorger will cast Retch toward the tank which you should side step.
Banquet Steward: Not really dangerous to a Brewmaster, but be sure to interrupt Dinner Bell to aid the healer as best you can.

The “hunting lounge” is also in this area. This lounge is made up of 3 packs and on some weeks a Witch as well. Do this in one pull and LOS it all around a corner to get the archers together.

Crazed Marksman: Not dangerous to Brewmaster, but hard to move around. Save Ring of Peace to move this mob out of sanguine. Otherwise, use LOS to move them toward your location.
Maddened Survivalist: casts Severing Serpent roughly every 10 seconds. Avoid both Freezing Trap and Shrapnel Trap, but you can soak if necessary to clear space. There are anywhere from 1-3 survivalists in this room (which is either random or on a weekly rotation, there is so much to keep track of in Waycrest). This pull is significantly harder when there are three total survivalists.
Diseased Mastiff: Will occasionally deal a spike of damage with Diseased Crunch to the tank.

Raal the Gluttonous Boss Encounter

Stand right on the bosses belly to avoid the poison puddles. This inner ring is sometimes the only safe space left to stand while tanking. Try to never leave melee range in case the boss immediately casts Consume All.
Bile Oozeling: More dangerous than the boss itself, the oozes hurt and are awkward to tank while keeping your front facing both the boss and the oozes. Hold a Keg Smash for a few seconds if the oozes are about to spawn, so you have something to pick up threat with.
Chi Burst is good to have on this encounter as a tool to pick up the slimes without leaving melee range.
Tenderize is dodge-able and shouldn’t be worried too much about. You should still move out of the way when convenient though.
Use Ring of Peace defensively on the oozes, as well as keeping the servents slightly away from the boss.

Lord and Lady Waycrest
Trash Mobs in the Area

Heading downstairs toward Lord and Lady Waycrest there are more of the same types of mobs with a couple slightly different witches mixed in.

Matron Alma: Skip the Matron if possible, but if need be watch out for Decaying Touch which will significantly ramp up damage taken as a Brewmaster. Interrupt Ruinous Volley.
Marked Sister: Deals quite a lot of damage to the tank with Darkened Blade. Also, watch for and interrupt Soul Fetish.
Coven Diviner: Another caster with Soul Fetish to interrupt. Soul Bolt is also a priority interrupt because of the high magic damage it deals to a random party member. This will nearly one-shot on higher keys.

Lord and Lady Waycrest Boss Encounter

This is a very high tank damage fight, have all defensive cooldowns available for the 3rd and final phase.
On higher level tyrannical keys, use Dampen Harm on pull and then a second time when Lady Waycrest joins the fight.
Save a Purifying Brew until after the Wasting Strike hits and ticks once or twice. Don’t be afraid to use Expel Harm when dipping low after wasting strike if about to die, it will give the healer more time to top you off.
Use Detox to dispel the party member targeted by Virulent Pathogen. Be sure they are in a safe position before doing so.
When Lady Waycrest joins the fight, cycle defensive cooldowns one at a time. As an example, I general go with Ironbark > Fortifying Brew > Dampen Harm > Healthstone/ Belt Enchant: Miniaturized Plasma Shield/ Coastal Healing Potion. On high tyrannical keys this may be the time to Bloodlust for safety. Focus down Lord Waycrest first, he does the majority of tank damage.

Gorak Tul

On the way to Gorak Tul there are 7 Gloom Horrors. These are difficult mobs, but worth a good chunk of enemy forces count. Pull them all together and Transcendence back up to the platform where Lord and Lady Waycrest were fought. Put down a Ring of Peace as they come up the ramp to stop the first set of jumps (Dark Leap – will jump at the farthest target). Leg Sweep the initial set of Shadow Claw casts afterwards and then get out of melee range. Kite them around the platform to avoid being one-shot by shadow claw, as well as being the farthest target for the leap.

Gorak Tul Boss Encounter

Tank the boss where he spawns, and Provoke each add when they spawn.
The Deathtouched Slaver adds will leap to a party member and then channel Death Lens. The cast needs to be disrupted every time, so coordinate use of abilities that are able to do so.
Use Ring of Peace and Paralysis to disrupt death lens. If the group has one more disrupt/stun, use that to fill in when Brewmaster abilities are on cooldown. As of patch 8.1, most stuns also work for this mechanic, including Leg Sweep. If there is no disrupt available, the group needs to focus down the slaver add at that moment.
Be sure to interrupt Darkened Lightning every time. One 15-second cooldown interrupt can take care of each cast.
Use defensive cooldowns when several slaver adds are actively attacking.

Amazing Guide, Really helping step up the tank game. Have you got any suggestion for 8.3 gear that might help a bit DPS? I'm trying to solo content and find that my DPS is just really lacking especially in Visions.
