It is also worth mentioning that as of Beta build 8885 the rewards datamined here are wrong.

At level 70 you will get:

20100 Experience points.
4 Gold, 70 Silver.
And 250 reputation with the Valiance Expedition.

Needless to say, this quest should be listed as "Available to Alliance players" unfortunately it does not appear to be listed accurately in the database as of 2008/09/03.

What a mess, at this point, all the quests chains and their pre-requisites are dismantled. :-(

Make sure you're using the Sergeant's TORCH and not the Sergeant's Flare.
There's a difference between the two. The Torch will work when you're inside the target Longhouse, the Flare...won't =)

If, like me, you go off and play an alt for ages and then can't remember how to summon the guy to hand the quest into, you're looking for the Westguard Command Insignia which should be in your bags.

If you also on you can fly on top of the towers and quickly dismember a few of them before they disappear.

You need to use an item in your bags called the Westguard Command Insignia. This will call a Westguard Sergeant to your side. This will allow you to turn in this quest as well as Towers of Certain Doom and Gruesome, But Necessary if you also have those completed.

Burn Skorn, Burn!

The Westguard Sergeant has orders that you should use the Sergeant's Torch to set fire to the Northeast and Northwest Longhouses and the Barracks at Skorn.

Description

Captain Adams gave me strict instructions to make sure that a good deal of infrastructure damage was inflicted on this site.

However, since you're in charge out here, that's at your discretion, <sir/ma'am>.

May I suggest that we burn down the two longhouses and the barracks that are in the lower area of Skorn? All we have to do is get inside each and throw this torch.
