Атиеш,великий посох Стража

Легендарное оружие в WoW, или простым языком, «легендарки» – это не просто кучка оранжевых пикселей. В первую очередь, это показатель успешности игрока, статус, и конечно же, очень неслабая прибавка к статам. Сегодня я хочу рассказать вам об Атиеше, легендарном посохе, который в классической игре удалось собрать немногим игрокам.

История Посоха

Изначально Атиеш принадлежал Стражам Тирисфаля. Позже он попал в руки Медиву, последнему Хранителю, в чьих руках стал грозным оружием. Саргерас, который владел душой мага, усилил его для Медива, однако это не спасло его от рока. Вскоре после открытия Темного Портала, Медив погиб, а его посох был был доставлен в Даларан. Маги Даларана прочуствовали, что в нем скрыта могущественная сила, и заперли его в хранилище на целых тридцать лет. Там бы он и лежал до лучших времен, но Архимонд вмешался в судьбу посоха. Даларан был разрушен демоном, и посох разломился на 42 части, 40 щепок, основание и навершие.

Основание попало к древнему богу К’Туну в Ан’Кираже, а остальные части оказались в Наксрамасе. Кел’Тузад хранит у себя навершие посоха, а щепки находятся у его лейтенантов. Посох потерял былую силу, и даже если он будет восстановлен, он потребует очищения от темного духа, живущего внутри..

Оранжевые пиксели

Атиеш — первое легендарное оружие для кастер-классов, которое появилось в оригинальном World of Warcraft в патче 1.11. Посох могли использовать маги, присты, варлоки и друиды. И без преувеличения, это был лучший посох в игре. В гильдиях, которые были в состоянии его собрать, в то время разгорались нешуточные споры, кому собирать этот стафф. Говорят, что выгоднее всего было собирать все же дамагерам, то есть магам и локам. Впрочем, это сейчас уже не так важно. И чуть позже я расскажу почему.

Для того чтобы собрать его, игроку предстояла нелегкая задача:

* Для начала, нужно было собрать 40 щепок, которые падали со всех боссов оригинального Наксрамаса, кроме Сапфирона и Кел’Тузада. Шанс дропа был примерно 30-40%. То есть, чтобы собрать основание, нужно было зачистить Наксрамас минимум 8-10 раз.
* Игрок получал Основу Атиеша, квестовый предмет, который нужно было отнести Анахроносу, дракону из рода Хранителей Времени в Танарисе. Дракон давал следующий квест, принести ему Основание и Навершие посоха, чтобы соединить все три части в одну. Для этого нужно было убить К’туна и Кел’Тузада. А это была не такая уж простая задача.
* После этого оставалась последняя часть цепочки. Нужно было взять оскверненный посох, отнести его в Стратхолм, и очистить от духа Саргераса. У духа было 200 000 хитпоинтов, в мили он лупил примерно по 600-1000 и одновременно раскидывался шадоу-болтами по 1500 урона.

Чтобы игрокам было легче, в помощь давался легендарный имба-меч Адонис, Жнец душ. Меч выпадал из рук демона в начале битвы (пишут, что меч также можно было выбить варовским дизармом). Правда, его можно было использовать только в Стратхолме, и он исчезал спустя 10 минут после выхода из инстанса :)

Это все, что требовалось от игрока.
Скажете — просто. Но! В оригинальном WoW Кел’Тузеда увидели вживую очень-очень немного игроков. Да и К’Тун был далеко не подарком. Сотни гильдий по два-три месяца вайпались на последнем боссе в АК40 а затем шли в Наксрамас и вайпались там. Сложность была действительно высокой, и поэтому посох был очень большой редкостью и предметом гордости его обладателя.

Для каждого из четырех классов был свой вариант посоха, с профильными статами. Внешне они отличались цветом ленточки на древке. У жрецов это была белая полоска, у друидов — зеленая, маги традиционно носили красную, а чернокнижники — синюю.
В погоне за мечтой

Первой в мире Атиеш появился в американской гильдии Risen, которая играла за альянс на сервер Alleria. Случилось это 9 сентября 2006 г, спустя три месяца после добавления в игру Наксрамаса. Посох собрал ГМ, прист c именем Failure :) От наплыва посетителей гильд-сайт американцев не выдержал, и буквально «упал». «Горячий» скрин после завершения цепочки квестов, на заднем фоне можно увидеть гнома из тут-же созданной фан-гильдии «zomgatiesh»:

В честь праздника Risen приглашали в рейд всех желающих фанатов и отправляли их в адское путешествие прямиком к хай-левел мобам у входа в Каражан. Игроки 1-го уровня, созданные только для того, чтобы посмотреть на посох, буквально ваншотились там на месте, но всем было весело:

Интересные факты

* «Atiesh» с персидского переводится как «Пламя». Некоторые игроки думают, что название предмету мог дать ведущий продюсер WoW Shane (aka Shahram) Dabiri, иранец по происхождению. Известно, что он дал «персидские» имена многим NPC в игре.
* «Esh» на иврите, и «Ateş» (ş читается как «шш») на турецком также означет «Огонь».
* 42 кусочка от Атиеша – это, возможно, ссылка на книгу Дугласа Адамса «Автостопом по галактике», в которой автор дает ответ на вечный вопрос смысла жизни и вообще на любой вопрос в мире. Всему ответ – 42.
* Посох позволял открыть портал ко входу в Каражан (на тот момент подземелья еще не было в игре).
* В Каражане один из необязательных боссов Тень Арана (а фактически – призрак отца Медива), завидев Атиеш в руках участника рейда, кричит «Где вы достали это? Это ОН вам дал?».

Послесловие

С выходом патча 3.0.2, Наксрамас был перенесен в Нортренд, и квест на получение щепок из старого Наксрамаса больше недоступен в игре. Атиеш, собранный в «ванилле» навсегда останется в одном ряду с олдскульными легендарками, которые больше нельзя получить. Если же, вдруг, у вас завалялась в банке голова Кел’Тузада, то у вас есть есть шанс. Древний бог К’Тун по прежнему обитает в Ан’Кираже. Спешите ;)

Есть модификации PortGear и TeleportCloak, которые автоматически после использования телепортирующего кольца, амулета, плаща или ещё чего-либо, надевают предыдущую вещь. Иначе, вы посреди важного боя внезапно обнаружите, что забыли переодеться и вместо актуальной вещи на вас надето вот это.

PortGear чаще обновляется (поскольку Blizzard добавляет в игру всё новые и новые предметы... например, на момент написания комментария TeleportCloak «не знала» про этот посох) и умеет учитывать надетые наборы вещей (например, если надет рыболовный сет, то она не будет снимать сапоги Пиратской бухты, дающие бонус к навыку рыбной ловли).

Как оказалось, разработчики не забыли про этот легендарный посох, хотя его обладателей считанные десятки, если не единицы.
Для Атиеша в Легионе были добавлены особые взаимодействия НПС с обладателями этого посоха в обоих версиях Каражана.

В рейде Каражан из БК босс Тень Арана, который является отцом Медива, говорит фразу для игрока, который держит Атиеш: "Где ты взял его? Он прислал его тебе?"
А в версии подземелья Каражана в Легионе босс Тень Медива говорит игроку, у которого есть хотя бы достижение на Атиеш: "Мой посох... моё наследие, да, он МОЙ!".

Эти взаимодействия у Атиеша похожи с взаимодействиями с некоторыми артефактыми оружиями, и немного похожи с Оскверненный Испепелитель, у которого был свой ивент в монастыре Алого Ордена.

Чувак мало того что атиеш сделал так и ачивки по типу первый на сервере имеет, апогей которых первый на сервере варлок. Чел просто джобнутый и таким можно только завидовать))

To craft Atiesh:

You must first collect the 40 shards. This will form the frame of Atiesh. They drop from randomly from bosses in Naxxramas.

After forming them, u need to visit Anachronos in Tanaris. He will as you to get 2 items:
You must kill Kel'Thuzad: The most powerful mob in the game to date. He drops the Head of Atiesh, and is the final boss in Naxxramas.

You must kill C'Thun, the final boss of AQ40. He drops the tail of Atiesh.

Finally, after obtaining all three parts, you must go to Stratholme to exorcise the evil spirit of Atiesh. This evil spirit drops a legendary 1H sword during the encounter. It can only be used in Stratholme and will disappear if its wielder logs out for more than 15 minutes. The sword has +600 Attack Power. The spirit more specifically, is called: Atiesh <Hand of Sargeras>

I must say that I am disappointed with the looks of this item. For a legendary staff I'd picture some huge staff with crystals and spikes and fiery sparks and lightning surrounding it, something totally awesome, something to rival the looks of the other legendary weapons. Is this the case, though? No...instead, the only legendary staff to date resembles the tiki torches on my deck. An unlit tiki torch at that, which is even lamer. Blizz, I am quite disappointed. Such delicious stats on a stick that is used to keep mosquitoes away. Well, at least we know one thing's for certain...if Blizz ever releases a mosquito boss into the world of warcraft, he's totally goin' down...

This staff has been formed once that i know ... it was quit amusing because soon after forming the staff they ported a ton of low level alts to Kara where they corpse laid in a massive pile. Th screen shot should not be that hard to find...
Failure and Risen were the names of the person and guild (dont remember which was which)

This staff comes from one of my favorite characters from Warcraft II and III: Magus Medivh. Atiesh was originally owned by Aegwynn, the Guardian of Tirisfal. When her son, Medivh, was born, she gave the staff to him. Medivh was possessed by the dark titan Sargeras and commited many horrible crimes, including killing his father Aran and opening the Dark Portal, letting the Orcs into Azeroth. For his crimes, he was slain by those he loved most.

He returned, however, and was cleansed of Sargeras's evil magic. He warned Jaina Proudmoore(the Human), Malfurion Stormrage(the Night Elf), and Thrall(the Orc) about the Burning Legion's attack on the world. These three heroes banded to together and defeated Archimonde.

Medivh was the great last guardian. His mother had the spirit of Sargeras inside her, which she got when she killed Sargeras (it is said that it might only have been a vision of sargeras), and when she had a baby, the spirit was transferred to Medivh, (his mother was a guardian as well, the guardian of azeroth) and during puberty, he was in coma for several years, which led to the spirit of Sargeras to taking almost complete control of his body... When he woke up it was Sargeras that had control of him. Sargeras used the dimension gate or something to bring the Orcs to Azeroth. With Khadgar as his servant, he lived in Karazhan until the ones he cared for the most killed him, (they were his friends before he got possessed, I presume) which made Sargeras' spirit go back into the Twisting Nether.

Medivh was "reborn" as The Prophet (I am uncertain if he was actually reborn, or something else happened), to make up for his "mistakes" as shown in Warcraft III. There he warned the different races about the coming of the Burning Legion and that they would destroy this world if they didn't go to Kalimdor to stop Archimonde from reaching the World Tree. Because King Terenas Menethil of the humans in Lordaeron didn't listen to his warning, his people were almost wiped out by the scourge Prince Arthas Menethil (who would later become the Lich King), son of King Terenas, didn't listen either, and lead his people to their doom when he retrieved the runeblade Frostmourne and slew Mal'Ganis, in retaliation for what he and the Scourge had done to his people.

Arthas slew his own father and betrayed his people, though Jaina Proudmoore managed to lead the human survivors of Lordaeron to Kalimdor, and was to meet with the oracle (Medivh/The Prophet tricked them to meet by pretending to be the oracle). After meeting the Oracle, they joined up with the orcs, and they went together into Ashenvale Forest to defend the World Tree. There they met resistance from the Night Elves who tried to drive them away from their lands, and were prepared to stop the legion by themselves, as they had done before. Medivh, however, appeared to Jaina Proudmoore, Thrall and Malfurion Stormrage in a dream and told them to come to a specific place,(they didn't know they were going to meet each other) and united them against the legion, and they set a trap to make Archimonde go to the world tree. Overconfident because he had defeated all the remaining resistance, he didn't see the trap and climbed the world tree. The ancient spirits of the land swarmed and killed him (this looked like a swarm of wisps flying around him in the cinematic), and thus he was destroyed. This however, had cost the Night Elves their powers of immortality.

Though this is for level 60 it is still one of the most powerful items. Note that a lot of TBC epics give more spell crit and spell damage, but this one gives quite good amount to all party members.
That's just it!
Plus it is truly unique item with legendary quality, isn't it honor to just wield it?

Aran is Medivh's father, and his shade ( Shade of Aran) is currently a boss in Karazhan, if u wield Atiesh while you fight him, a special script opens and he says something like "Where did you get that?". I would do karazhan just to hear Shade of Aran say that. =P.

its Really sad that they realesed TBC 6 months after Naxxramas was opened , 6 monts = about 26-27 naxxramas runs , and no guild killed all bosses in the first week to get some extra frames of atiesh , so only 1-2 persons in some guilds got it , i think people who obtained this item is not more then 200

Id like to add that this staff is NOT only available to mages like it says over the Screenshot. It is available to preists, druids, warlocks, and mages. each staff gives a different bonus pending on the class.

ahh. Atiesh. Imho it is the most over hyped weapon in wow. medivh might as well used a big stick and he would still be considered a great mage. Atiesh is a symbol. I think it should be epic no more. lets look at other weapons.

Ashbringer-a sword made from a cyrstal of pure evil and it had holy spells cast on it until it was its o&*!@ote and that cyrstal was turned into a sword by a lich

Warglaives of Anethron-Imo just like atiesh

Sulfron, hand of Ragnaros-a weapon made by the ashes of his dead opponents. he was a ELEMENTAL LORD. it says his HAND. so you are weilding the hand of on of the last titans

Thunderfury, blessed blade of the windseeker- a like less lore but the same as sulfron the weapon of one of the last elemental lords

thori'dal, The stars fury-just a kick as bow infused with the power of the SUNWELL

and what i really dislike is the fact the atiesh is legendary and corrupted ashbringer is only epic

Actually Ragnaros and Thunderaan are not titans, but they are elemental lords. Ragnaros is the elemental lord of fire, and Thunderaan is the elemantal lord of lightning. An example of a titan is Sargeras, the leader of the Burning Legion. And the name of the bow is Thori'dal, the Star's Fury. But you are correct about Ateish, Medivh's power came mostly from the fact that he was extremely powerful and skilled in the art of magic. Ashbringer was not made by a lich, it was forged by paladins from the Order of the Silver hand I believe, after they all cast holy spells on it to make it a crystal of pure light. And they are called the Warglaives of Azzinoth, not the Warglaives of Anethron.

Mage is version is still "spell critical rating" on 3.0.2 PTR and not "critical rating" and the aura is still only per party. So no change here with WOTLK.

this staff easily lasted into T4 raiding (Kara, Mag, Gruul) before being replaced. even then, while some of the early epic staves were better for the mage himself, it was debatable whether they were worth sacrificing the crit aura.

There is a truly legendary element to this staff when you see one in game... considering, this legendary was removed at the induction of WotLK and is not farmable by level 80 players as is Thunderfury, Ragnaros, even the Warglaives of Azzinoth and Thor'idal. When you see Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian up on the back of a mage, priest, warlock, or druid, you know you stand before a mighty individual, likely to have conquered unspeakable horrors you've never even seen.

In late vanilla (and throughout the Burning Crusade), this was the Маг version of the legendary Наксрамас weapon. It came in four flavors (see the tabs above), and is no longer obtainable. Ravens circled it periodically.

From patch 1.11 "Shadow of the Necropolis" in June 2006, to patch 3.0.2 "Echoes of Doom" in October 2008, Naxxramas hung over the Восточные Чумные земли and dropped Tier 3 raid armor and sometimes Щепка от Атиеша. After lots and lots of Naxx runs (no small feat at the time), 40 splinters could be combined into the Основа Атиеша, and then you had to find someone to help you recover the head and base on Основа Атиеша. "There is also a minor issue regarding the staff being a conduit for Sargeras's evil." Provided you had worked your way up to neutral with the Род Ноздорму, Анахронос knows all, and he sent you out on Атиеш, оскверненный великий посох. Once on the quest, the Навершие посоха Атиеша dropped from Кел'Тузад at the end of Naxx, and the the Основа Атиеша dropped from К'Тун in the Ан'Кираж (thanks, Brann, for that...). Anachronos then sent you out on Атиеш, большой посох Стража to Стратхольм to get Атиеш out of Атиеш, великий посох Хранителя, and then kill him of course.

In lore, the Greatstaff was wielded by Хранители Тирисфаля, up through Последний хранитель Medivh, who was possessed by Sargeras.

Looks like the staff is now in the hands of Khadgar, Medivh's apprentice. He's set out to Draenor to track down Gul'dan and leads the new legendary questline. Looks like he also led the charge against (ahem, the running away from) the Iron Horde that takes place in Tanaan Jungle.

As much as the staff was useful for anyone who could use it, this was clearly the only canonical one. The others were simply because it wouldn't be fair to make such an intensive legendary be for just mages.

seeing stuff like this, atiesh, thunderfury, naxx40 gear etc, and i regret so much for not playing back then, wish i wasn't spending my whole time on dumb diablo 2, some of the items are available through the bmah but its not about obtaining :(. Now i'm old and working full time so i won't be able to wield those stuff once vanilla launches again, anyway wish i have wasted my youth on classic wow instead of d2.

It looks like if you have this on one class you unlock the appearances of all the other variants for transmog on their respective classes (Mage/Warlock/Priest/Druid).
