Drakuru's task is Fuel for the Fire

Drakuru's secret is Disclosure which becomes available after handing in Fuel for the Fire.

Just to be clear, you don't 'Learn Drakuru's secret' until you turn in Disclosure.

Note that the explosives should be used on the smaller carts; not the large vehicles with the plague cauldrons.

You cannot help the abominations kill the trolls; attacking breaks your disguise and loses your controlled abomination.

Here's a quick tip:

If your disguise fails and you end up aggroing a Bloated Abomination, you can use the Scepter on it. It'll become your pet for a few moments before disappearing.

Not sure if it's inherently obvious or not, but the wagons are on the ground NOT in the necropolis.

Quest log was somewhat ambiguous with it's description.

WARNING: Do not attempt to summon a vanity pet while the skeleton takes you on a tour of the place. He will disappear and you will have to do Fuel for the Fire and Sabotage over again.

Note: If you enjoyed Fuel for the Fire, you can continually bug this quest and repeat Fuel for the Fire multiple times (you even get the EXP and gold). There is a related bug which, on your second attempt forward, you must either enter combat or refresh your disguise. Otherwise the abominations will disappear when you use the rod on them.

When following the skeleton around, make sure you don't summon a non-combat pet. Or Mr. Skeleton disappears and you're stuck doing it again.

Did this with my partner in a group, and we discovered if we both got the abominations, the quest kills wouldn't register when they explode. So ensure that you only do this with one of you controlling an abomination.

Maybe it was just me that was confused about the scourgewagons. So, if anyone else is wondering where and what they are, they are the smaller "wagons" next to the ones with the cauldrons.

To get the chain you have to get Unliving Choker that got a 100% from Withered trolls.
** Wowhead say 9%, but its wrong because it only drops if you havent done the quest**

The quest item is bugged, so if you abandon any of the quest's you need Stefan's Horn for you will have to go to Ebon Watch in order to turn it in, or talk to him if someone else have called for him.

Such a f-ing infuriating quest. Aboms die so fast, if you try to round up anymore than 6 and healing the abom just genereates aggro onto yourself, which means at least one troll is likely to aggro onto you and then bam - disguise gone and abom despawns. Lose-lose. Too time consuming, imo. Not even worth the effort.

Bugged if your using carbonite, once your quest is done, you have to turn it back in with Stefan Vetu, just go back to Ebon Watch :)

When controlling the abom, make sure you use flatulence every time it's up, makes your abom live a lot longer. Still annoying though.

For the scourgewagon part, though, if you have a flyer you can get away with doing that part out of disguise. Land on wagon, drop charges, mount up before it explodes and get out of there without having to fight anything. Much faster. :)

To reach the upper chamber

The teleport to the upper chamber is right above the teleport towards the ground. You can reach it using the stairs at the round thing in the middle. The stairs come in sequence when you walk around the round thing. First stairs go down, then up, then down, and so on.

Just so people know, you don't actually have to follow Malmortis(or whatever his name was, the skeleton). If "Disclosure" says to go back to the troll, you just take the green floor portal on the bottom level and you'll complete "Sabotage" when you finish "Disclosure". The skele-man bugged for me and a shaman and we both could finish the quest line.

Just so everyone knows and doesn't spend three freaking days trying to get the choker back, he will not give you the choker if you are mounted, OR in shadow form Hope this helps!

So I started this quest today. It's already a tedious, annoying quest, to be sure. First you have to do all that stuff with the abominations... Then you have to follow that skeleton around and not run into the portal before he's done chatting...

As of 7.3, (I assume), they've put a new twist into the mix. (Well at least for me. >_<). I have an invisible friend who likes to go around killing the geists and abominations around the area. At first, Oswald (as I've come to know it), was only a strange amusement while I passed by doing this chain. I finally got to this quest and it was there, trying to kill my abominations before I 'tamed' them. That was just merely annoying. Then I come up to the top to where Drakuru's big secret is. Well I ask the skeleton to tell me the secret, but while he's futzing around trying to be dramatic, Oswald comes along and maims him. After screaming in say chat at it for a while, and foaming at the mouth, and trying to get Blizzard to help me, I went down to Drakuru's room trying to get him to notice one of the geists down there to maim for a while. Luckily Oswald took the bait and is still down there trying to kill that geist, giving me enough time to hear Malmortis' deal.

I'm not sure how many other people will ever have this problem, but if you do, I recommend trying to get Oswald interested in the geists at Drakuru's room, because the ones in Malmortis' room seem to jump up and down on the platform and screw up aggro somehow.

Go back to sorting sugar and salt, Oswald!

for those having issues wiht this quest - the item "explosive charges" is not a temporary quest item, it is a permanent item. as such if you misplace it in your bank or it otherwise goes missing you will need to restore it with item restore in order to complete this quest as the quest giver will nto give you a new one despite abandoning the quest. this becomes very confusing. the item is also unique. the user friendliness of this quest is not that great.

Malmortis keeps dying on me. Nothing is near him, nothing is attacking but he dies before he finishes the tour. After the PITA of the abominations it's rubbing salt into your wound. I finally stayed far behind him and he completed his tour.

Whomever designed and playtested this quest should be condemned to eternal customer support.

As an FYI, as of today, this quest appears to be no longer bugged. You can follow Mal around to hear their dark secrets and complete it normally. Thankfully, after suffering through this quest on several toons, it's back to normal.

Attempt 1: stayed with the skele, including onto the transport pad which ported me back down to Drak's level and didn't successfully complete the quest.
Attempt 2: started the tour and dropped down, figuring the skele would wander his way down to me, but he apparently stopped touring and reset when he got to the crystals.
Attempt 3: started him up and again, stayed with him, and let him finish instead of following him onto the transporter pad - this one worked.

Moral of the story: stay with the skele until he gets to the transporter pad. Don't walk onto the transport pad until you're alerted that the quest is successfully finished.

Stefan at Ebon Watch wants you to perform another task for Drakuru.

Additionally, you are to use the Explosive Charges on 5 Scourgewagons at the Reliquary of Pain.

If you lose your Ensorcelled Choker, return to Stefan at Ebon Watch to get another.

Description

While we're working to discover the purpose of these crystals, we need you back in Voltarus doing Drakuru's bidding.

Every task you perform successfully gets you closer to him, and brings us that much nearer to knowing his mind.

While you're there, I have another mission for you. Drakuru's Scourgewagons pose a significant threat. We need them destroyed.

Make your way to the wagons and activate these charges. Once they're set, get clear! The explosion will expose you if you're too close.
