This is so sweet, so glad he will be honored in more ways!
They should add a Hayven NPC and have Hayven and Ibelin chat about their adventures all day.
I thought Blizzard stopped adding NPCs of real people?
Nice
A normie friend of mine contacted several of our mutual friends out of the blue to say how much she liked this doc. She'd barely heard of WoW, and didn't know I played it. Her love of the doc didn't have anything to do with the specifics of WoW. I'd sort of heard of it, but hadn't thought to watch. Her enthusiasm made me curious, though, so I subscribed to Netflix to check it out. For a WoW player parts of it are kind of slow, but overall it's a very touching story and I'm glad I saw it. Apparently good for normies, too! :)
How sweet. I hope they choose to have him jogging through Elwynn like he did ingame when he played.
Just as i've finished watching movie about him yesterday. What a timing.
Ibelin's story and the remarkably well done documentary were impactful for me. It's made me look at the game and the people I play with in another light. Can't wait to see him in game. F
This is great! But the one strange thing about Blizzard loving the movie is that in todays world of warcraft, with sharding and layering, the events in the movie could most probably never have occurred due to characters not seeing eachother out in the world. That is a thing of the past, and the movie points out what a huge loss that is for the game.
I wonder where we'll find him. Could be interesting to see him in the tavern he frequented, maybe giving advice to npcs?
This is lovely. I've seen the documentary myself and as a wow player since the day this game out, realizing I've now played this game over half my lifetime, it was very impactful. Mats must have been an awesome dude and I love how his family 100% embraced his "hidden life" when they found out. This should also teach the wow community to be more humble, say hi, and be courteous. So much of the communication has gone lost, not even a word in chat when in lfd, and the community has also become very hostile. We must remember always we do not know the person behind the character. We don't know their story, what lead them to wow and if they are struggling. It's easy to be behind a screen and vote kick someone for being slow in an instance, but maybe next time give that person an extra chance. And say hi. Acknowledge each other a bit more. Peace out :)
So he has a unique gravestone, a pet, and now is getting an NPC. It's cool and all but it does feel a bit lopsided since there have been more memorial easter eggs in the game but never anything as extensive as for this guy.
Oh they are really milking this Ibelin story for karma points do they?
