You will need to build a Level 1 Shipyard. This requires you to be level 100 and have a Stage 3 Garrison. You’ll need and 0 Garrison Resources to build the Level 1 Shipyard.

This linked guide walks you through the initial steps to build a shipyard.

The Invasion of Tanaan/The Invasion of Tanaan ports you to Tanaan Jungle after a short cutscene in your Shipyard.

Once in Tanaan, Obstacle Course/Obstacle Course sends you to to get Letter from Kilrogg at 68.9, 64.9, and Magril's Journal at 74.0, 56.2. If your gear is bad, don’t worry--you are escorted by an NPC.

In, Through, and Beyond!/In, Through, and Beyond!: Run up the hill, dodging cannon fire, and destroy the Fel Cannon using the artillery.

The Assault Base/The Assault Base: Follow your escort and plant the banner for your city--Vol’mar for the Horde to the north, Lion’s Watch for the Alliance to the south. At this point, you are granted Improved Logistics, which increases the size of your Garrison Cache to 750.

The Battle for the West/The Battle for the West: Talk to Durotan/Yrel at the Iron Front, the westernmost part of Tanaan. There is a direct flight available from your city.

Commander in the Field!/Commander in the Field!: Talk to three scouts scattered around Tanaan, eventually making your way back to your base. They are located at 26.0, 38.8 / 29.6, 62.8 / 43.4, 42. The scouts are located near three additional flight paths.

Portals are located in Stormshield and Warspear, near the flight master. These will take you to Lion's Watch or Vol'mar, which have return portals to Stormshield and Warspear.

Players with a Mage Tower / Spirit Lodge can access a new waypoint in Tanaan Jungle at 53.5, 58.4.

On the PTR, players can access Tanaan Jungle via northeastern Talador. We are unsure if this is intended, but even if it is, you are missing your main faction hub, mailbox, reputation vendors, reliable source of Oil, daily quests, and Apexis vendors.

DarK Portal: Area used for initial Tanaan Jungle quests--you've been here before when you quested in lvl 90 Tanaan Jungle.

Lion's Watch and Vol'mar: Alliance and Horde faction hubs, unlocked with The Assault Base/The Assault Base. Hub for 6.2 daily quests, flight masters, and home to the only mailboxes in the zone. Completing Bring the Reinforcements for Angar Steelbellow/Fraggs unlocks the option to choose an Outpost buff from the four other zones to use in Tanaan.

Fang'rila: Home of the Saberstalkers and Blackfang Arena Champions. Only place to get Blackfang Claw.

Scuttler's Coast: Sandy beach where Fen Crab found is found. Sand-Encrusted Egg provides the Gooey Refreshment buff, which increases stats by 5% for 10 minutes.

Zorammarsh: Swampy area with numerous toys and caves inhabited by pirates and the Bleeding Hollow. Mysterious Fruit provides the Strength of the Swamp buff which increases stats by 5% for 10 minutes, or the Pollen Protection buff which makes you immune to the poisonous pollen nearbly.

Temple of Sha'naar: Corrupted Draenei temple and home to Fel Pup, Sassy Imp, and Accursed Tome of the Sargerei. Sargerei Soulcharger provides the Empowered Healthstone buff to restore health. Flight master Rangari Sha'ana.

Iron Front: Conflict between the Alliance, Horde, and Iron Horde. Battlefield Rations provides the Battlefield Rations buff to restore health. Flight master Skyguard Blann.

Zeth'gol: Shadowy Bleeding Hollow area, home to the Remnant of the Blood Moon event. Rage Potion provides the Rage of Blood buff, which increases damage by 25%.

Reins of Kra'nak: Arakkoa area, and location for the Apexis Gemcutter who crafts epic gems for Jewelcrafters. Tanaan Camu Seed provides the Tanaan Camu Seed buff which restores health and resources. Flight master Skytalon Kariz.

Fel Forge: Fel-infused orc area with many treasures, pets, and Fel-Proof Goggles. Elixir of Reckless Power provides the Reckless Power buff, increase damage done, damage taken, and haste.

Hellfire Citadel: New 6.2 raid with 13 bosses. Learn more with our Hellfire Citadel Raid Preview. The lava surrounding Hellfire Citadel, the Fel Forge, and Throne of Kil'jaeden gives players the buff/debuff Fel Sludge. This increases damage done/taken by 5%, stacks higher, but instantly kills the player at 10 stacks.

Throne of Kil'jaeden: Home to world boss Supreme Lord Kazzak. Deadliest part of Tanaan Jungle with many elite demons.

Honored with Hand of the Prophet/Vol'jin's Headhunters is required to buy Ship Blueprint: Battleship / Ship Blueprint: Battleship for . Battleship counter Destroyer.

Exalted with Order of the Awakened lets players purchase Ship: The Awakener/Ship: The Awakener for . This lets you build The Awakener, which counters both Battleship and Submarine. Most ships can only counter one other type of ship, but this counters two. This is also notable because Battleships usually require a Carrier to counter, which requires Blueprints from a Level 3 Shipyard.

Oil

You can complete an Apexis Daily from the Command Table for a 0 Oil (750 for a group quest).

Every rare elite for Hellbane will yield 0 Oil once per day when killed.

Revered with Hand of the Prophet/Vol'jin's Headhunters lets you purchase an Oil Ring which unlocks the Oil Rig: Pickup Location mission. This is a steady supply of 0 Oil and is the only Naval Mission that rewards Oil.

You can purchase the Dowser Bigspark / Dowser Goodwell/Dowser Bigspark / Dowser Goodwell follower with the Greasemonkey trait, which increases Oil from Follower Missions by 100%, when Honored with Hand of the Prophet/Vol'jin's Headhunters.

For a one-time boost, you can complete all of the seven bonus objective in Tanaan for 0 Oil each. Just simply head to the seven areas needed for Apexis Dailies, and kill mobs to raise your bar to 100%.

Loot from rare spawns is ilvl 655 (click here for a full list).

Loot from treasures is ilvl 650 and can appear as a higher ilvl due to the same upgrade system responsible for WoD quest items randomly getting higher ilvls.

To increase your chance at upgrades, build a Bunker / War Mill for the Upgrades perk.

Another way to get ilvl 650 gear is through Baleful Tokens. These have a chance to drop from rares and treasures in Tanaan, and can also be purchased from Ravenspeaker Thelnaas at Lion's Watch or Vol'mar.

Baleful tokens come for all slots, except shields/offhands, and are purchased for 0 Apexis Crystal from Ravenspeaker Thelnaas--except for Baleful Armament which is 0 Apexis Crystal.

When you get a Baleful token, click on it and a wearable ilvl 650 item will be created with primary stats suitable to your loot specialization, and randomized secondary stats. This can appear as an ilvl 675 item. In 6.2.3, Baleful items can range from ilvl 650 through 695 in increments of +5 ilvls.

For 0 Apexis Crystal, you can upgrade this gear to ilvl 695 with Empowered Apexis Fragment. This is an improvement on the Burden of Eternity system, where you had to upgrade the token and could not see your stats in advance.

Finally, ilvl 705 gear is acquired from killing the world boss Supreme Lord Kazzak. Slots appear to be back, feet, neck, waist, and wrist.

There are over 50 rares in Tanaan Jungle, with FFA tagging and personal loot.

Rares drop ilvl 655 loot.

You can only kill a rare once a day for their special loot--and some will disappear and be phased out for the rest of the day, preventing additional kills.

Each rare mob has one unique item on their loot table, as well as a chance to drop a Baleful Token which creates ilvl 650 gear.

Visiting a rare spawn page like Captain Grok'mar shows the loot it contains, a map, and a macro underneath the map that tells you if you've already looted the treasure. Example, Captain Grok'mar would be:

Killing all the rare creatures rewards Jungle Stalker which is needed for Rumble in the Jungle/Rumble in the Jungle.

Notable RewardsVignettes of Tanaan JungleTransmog Gear

Nethekurse's Robe of Contempt, dropped by Grand Warlock Nethekurse, resembles the Horde PvP robe Legionnaire's Dreadweave Tunic. In current Outland, Grand Warlock Nethekurse is the first boss in The Shattered Halls.

Glowing Felskull Belt, dropped by Soulslicer, resembles Shaman Tier 15 . Soulslicer is a corrupted Shaman so the appearance is fitting.

Murktide's Coveted Chestplate may look plain at first, but the hint is in the word "coveted." Transmog enthusiasts will notice that it rounds out the K'Vlar Battleplate (Recolor) which was missing a chest.

Rod of the One True Podlord is a Podling-themed stick, dropped by Podlord Wakkawam. Goes great with Podling Camouflage!

Toys/Vanity

Ghostly Iron Buccaneer's Hat turns you into an Undead Pirate. Previously Captain Ironbeard in Nagrand dropped Iron Buccaneer's Hat but things have taken a turn for the worse. This is found inside a cave with ominous pirate decorations.

Felflame Campfire from Bramblefell is a spooky campfire which serves as a cooking fire, but reduces your spirit by 4!

Vial of Red Goo drops from the Remnant of the Blood Moon, which is part of the Zeth'Gol daily event to collect Drained Blood Crystal.

Cursed Feather of Ikzan drops from High Priest Ikzan and transforms the player into a corrupted Arakkoa.

Sassy Imp from Imp-Master Valessa lives up to its name. Sometimes it will be summoned and do nothing; other times it will temporarily offer random features like Transmogrification, Personal Bank, or Guild Bank.

A Fel Puppy Of My Own is triggered by killing Ceraxas and rewards Fel Pup.

Treasures can be looted once per character. They are personal and others cannot "steal" a spawning treasure.

Treasure loot includes ilvl 650 items, which can be upgraded randomly like quest rewards.

Reaching Honored with Hand of the Prophet/Vol'jin's Headhunters allows you to purchase the Treasure Map: Tanaan Jungle/Treasure Map: Tanaan Jungle for from Vindicator Krethos/Shadow Hunter Denjai.

Notable LootToys

Dazzling Rod lets you play a game with others who have Dazzling Rod equipped. When you have the Dazzling Rod buff, Dazzling Bolt shows up on your action bar and you can fling arcane orbs at others. If they hit, you gain a stack of Dazzling Rod Score and grow, if you get hit, you lose your score and get stunned. Found on top of the tower at 42.84, 35.38.

Accursed Tome of the Sargerei places a corrupted Naaru mark on your forehead, similar to Touch of the Naaru. Fittingly, this is found in the fel-infused Temple of Sha'naar area--Tome of Secrets at 32.4, 70.4.

The Perfect Blossom lets you pick several Fel Petal which can be applied to your pets to give them a fel-tinged glow. While The Perfect Blossom is on a daily CD per character, you can log into alts to get even more Fel Petal. Found in The Perfect Blossom at 40.8, 75.5 and requires Pollen Protection to safely get to.

Jewel of Hellfire, a Diablo reference, turns you into a member of the Burning Legion. The best part is that both male and female disguises have multiple armor options, your weapons remain visible, and your disguise remains while mounted. If you pair this disguise with other ones, you will still see the gem sticking out of your forehead. Looted at 27.9, 22.9 from Jewel of Hellfire.

Podling Camouflage is a terrifyingly cute Podling disguise. This is found in Strange Green Fruit when ripened after 14 days, and you obtain Strange Green Fruit from bouncing up onto a treebranch after stepping on a piece of loose soil. Soil found at 64.8, 42.9 from Strange Fruit.

Transmog

Axe of the Weeping Wolf resembles Cataclysmic Gladiator's Decapitator.

Weathered Memento Axe resembles Butcher's Bloody Cleaver.

Ogra'mal Snake Charming Flute is a high-definition version of Foe Reaper—a stick attached to a rock.

Emanating Staff of Shadow is a unique recolor of Hellfire LFR/6.2 Honor gear.

Guardian Swiftblade of Kra'nak is a unique recolor of Anzu's Scything Talon.

Forgotten Champion's Blade is a Horde-colored version of Admiral Taylor's Greatsword.

Fel-Proof GogglesOther

Throbbing Blood Orb: Transform into a Bleeding Hollow orc, after being drained by a blood orb.

Skull of the Mad Chief: Turn into an Eye of Kilrogg that can move very quickly.

How to Gain Reputation

Order of the Awakened: 1500 reputation via Unseen Influence, requiring players to kill rares and loot treasures.

Saberstalkers: Kill elites for reputation, summon several elites for the weekly quest Rumble in the Jungle (3500 reputation), and a chance at Tooth and Claw for an extra 1500 reputation. The mobs drop Blackfang Claw which is needed to purchase reputation items, and 500 are needed for I Came, I Clawed, I Conquered which counts towards Rumble in the Jungle/Rumble in the Jungle.

Hand of the Prophet/Vol'jin's Headhunters: Complete a short introductory questline for roughly 2200 reputation, which unlocks three dailies, which in total grant 1000 reputation. A fourth daily has a chance to be up for an additional 250 reputation. Some of these dailies are random, but you can see exactly which ones are up with Today in Draenor.

A Level 3 Trading Post Level 3 increases reputation gains in Draenor by 20%--this works with 6.2 factions. Learn how to construct this with our Guide to the Garrison Trading Post.

Guild Battle Standards increase reputation gains by 5% (Banner of Cooperation), 10% (Standard of Unity), and 15% (Battle Standard of Coordination).

WHEE!: Darkmoon Faire buff-ride the carousel for a minute and you'll get reputation gains increased by 10% for an hour.

Darkmoon Top Hat: 10% reputation gain for 1 hour, from Darkmoon Top Hat obtained during the Darkmoon Faire for 0 Darkmoon Prize Ticket.

Diplomacy: 10 % reputation gain, human racial.

Tanaan Jungle is the only place to acquire Felblight via gathering professions.

Miners can acquire Blackrock Ore and True Iron Ore from nodes around the zone.

Skinners can acquire Raw Beast Hide from beasts in Tanaan. Tooth and Claw is a quest that pairs up nicely with Skinning, as it requires players to kill beasts for Tanaan Jungle Tooth.

Herbalists can get the usual herbs via Withered Herb around the zone.

Non-gatherers can acquire 10-15 Felblight by killing the new world boss Supreme Lord Kazzak.

Jewelcrafters in 6.2 can craft epic gems. To unlock these crafting recipes, level 100 players must travel to Aknor’s Rise in northwestern Tanaan Jungle and complete a short questline:

I Came, I Clawed, I Conquered: Loot 5000 Blackfang Claw from the Saberon in Fang'rila (tooltip incorrectly shows 500). You will accumulate many along the way as you grind Saberstalker reputation.

Hellbane: Defeat Terrorfist, Vengeance, Deathtalon, Doomroller--rare elites (these are different than the rares for the above achievement). They are located in specific areas of Tanaan Jungle, spawn with a zone-wide yell notifying players they are up, have a 100% chance to drop 0 Oil the first time you kill them each day, as well as one of three mounts. Please refer to the Vignettes of Tanaan Jungle guide for more details on their mechanisms.

The Legion Will NOT Conquer All: Defeat the new world boss Supreme Lord Kazzak, who drops ilvl 705 gear and Felblight. Supreme Lord Kazzak is located at 47.1, 21.5 at the Throne of Kil'jaeden--just like he is in Hellfire Peninsula. You can find a group easily by using the Group Finder Tool.

In Pursuit of Gul'dan/In Pursuit of Gul'dan: This requires players to complete all six steps of the Tanaan Garrison Campaign. This campaign involves building a Level 1 Shipyard, unlocking the Tanaan Jungle faction hub, unlocking several areas in Tanaan, and ultimately acquiring Oronok Torn-heart as a follower. Draenor's Last Stand/Draenor's Last Stand: Complete the seven daily quests from your Tanaan Jungle command table. You have a choice of two random ones every day, and you can see which quests are up via the Today in Draenor sidebar on the front page. @perculia: Since treasures and drops start off as rare (blue), shouldn't they "only" receive +10 ilvls if they upgrade to epic (purple)? The +20 ilvls is only for characters with a Bunker/War Mill in their garrisons, I reckon?

Also, it would seem that Baleful tokens do not cover shields or off-hand items. It would probably be wise to secure the services of a blacksmith or scribe for that.

Re: The Champions of Hellfire. I was seeing and hearing the emotes, and never saw any of the 4 rares spawn. I'm not sure if something weird was going on, or they were all dying before I got there (but when I asked in chat no one said they saw them).

Does the emote mean they have spawned, or just when the respective emote happens there is a chance they have spawned?

Another observation for Baleful tokens: For slots that can have Bonus Armor/Spirit, Baleful tokens do not seem to have those stats in their list of possible stat combinations. As such, they would probably be best equipped when you're in DPS spec.

Edit: I have obtained some Baleful gear with Bonus Armor on them, so the above may not be valid.

For those of you with so many alts and wanna skip the shipyard hassle. It is possible to reach Tanaan and obtain the 4 flight path without doing any quest, without level 3 garrison and without building shipyard. I start from Stormshield and Tanaan is visible. I got ported to Tanaan starting quest area when I enter deeper.

To be clearer on random upgrades for Tanaan gear:

1) Baleful gear starts at ilvl 650, but has a chance to upgrade to ilvl 675, before you can use the upgrade item (costs 20k apexis crystals) to turn it ilvl 695.

2) Treasures and drop from rares have a chance to upgrade with a +10 to ilvl. They cannot be upgraded further.

What part of this guide is the "gearing up alts" part? To me that indicates that I can farm items on a primary character to get gear for my other characters. This is not possible at the moment since the baleful tokens are BoP.

I feel the need to point out that this jungle has never and doesn't exist... Even before Draenor was shattered and became "Outland", there was still only ever Hellfire Peninsula. This map is a scan I took from the game guide book that came with Warcarft II: http://i.imgur.com/XwcRQxJ.jpg

As this map's timeline is exactly of the era WoD takes place in (maybe a year or two after), I question why they keep rewriting lore "just because".

Additionally, the sea is named incorrectly, and "Ashran" makes no sense, as it should be firmly under the control of the Warsong Clan (whom you are currently "fighting", as its leader is Grom Hellscream).

I might have something to add to the "Gearing up in Tanaan Jungle" section, if anyone can confirm this?

For tank/plate specs, it doesn't appear any of the body pieces you get from tokens will roll up bonus armor. I've tried with several dozens of each piece and have only ever found bonus armor on necklaces, trinkets, rings and cloaks. I saw someone mention the same thing on the Wow forums but haven't seen anything official about it.

Can anyone confirm? And then maybe add it to the guide? I've spent a lot of time trying to get the bonus armor pieces... would be nice to let others know if it's just not possible.

I'm confused. Kazzak's page, the loot tab only shows him dropping 705 gear. When I do a search for 710+ gear, many items on the list show "Mythic" 735 and "Heroic" 720 items attributed to him. Do those 735 and 720 items even exist?

HEELLLPPP! I got the quest and went to the jungle but had to leave during the quest and couldn't get back. So i abandoned it thinking i could start over and now it's just GONE!
