Alliance-only flyer, horde version is a
This Hippogryph will be purchased with Champion Seals. 150 Seals to be exact. The Sunreaver Dragonhawk will also be 150 Champion Seals
looks like the argent Hippogryph but its all white, not white and brown
Before you will reach 150 seals, u WILL reach exalted with them.
oh yes... now they announce this after I bought the argent crusade one. >.> I wanted the white one. :B
wow this is an amzing thing to have because if you do argent tournament alot you get around 275 rep with them per quest which ends up your not rlly grinding for it all :P
Will most likely look like
this pretty hippogryph
I think both factions got screwed to be honest. The recolors of hippogryphs look terrible and dragonhawks just look weird...like shouldn't even be flying, about to fall off weird, like the skyguard mounts.
Just my opinion though, will probably be downrated.
I was really surprised to see this available when I clicked on the vendor and bought it immediately. (I didn't read the patch notes in full), This is the model I thought the Argent one was through misinformation. Now Im glad I saved my seals; I just love looking at this thing.
Yes, I too agree that there should be walking/standing animation but this thing looks so fricken awesome that it doesn't matter.
I actually love how this Hippogryph looks like. Something like ground animation ain't that important to me, as silly as it may look. I, in my personal opinion, think the dragonhawks look silly and weird, and would never pay 150 Seals for something that looks like it could never fly.
I personally think that this Hippogryph looks really nice, but I don't think it's really fair that alliance has to get 100 mounts to get a dragonhawk while horde can get one by simply doing their daily's which most people will do anyways. Sure if Alliance also got some sort of a rare mount that is hard for Horde to get, but they can simply get the
Hippogryph. Sure they don't have the same color scheme, but still.
I think it's a good thing that horde and alliance get different mount, but that horde can get a mount that is so much harder for the alliance to get is not fair when alliance gets a mount that is relatively easy for horde to get. Just my opinion.
just got this mount on my main ;P it rocks
has it ever occurred to you that ally have more mounts in terms of variety...
Ally can get pretty much all horde mounts in somewhat ways. "ZG raptor/ White Swift Strider/ Brewfest Kodo/ Barrons Or Kara Undead version mount" the only one i don't know if is a wolf i; i don't think their is a wolf..
Horde only can get a ram of ally version really, spectral tiger maybe but thats not ingame earned. No horse, No Mechstrider, No elekk.
So if you ask me its about even. on different types of mounts.
This just in on the 3.3 PTR... It has a walking/running animation!
154 marks and still yet to be exaulted..
Sunreaver Dragonhawk looks so much nicer that the Alliance mount. At least they could have given some color options for the Hippogryph, maybe a golden version....
Confirmed on live!
The standing/running animation makes it feel so much more like a real mount :D
It also stretches on idle, and periodically bobs it's head around :3
man Hippogryphs looks so messy and lame
it doesnt make a noise when it flies. pretty stealthy imo
Love this mount. The running animation is to freaking nice. But I still use my pally exclusive ground mount regardless.
a question, when you get a faction change do you have to get exalted with the silver covenent to use this mount (assuming you had the horde version when you switched) or is that just to buy it?
Due to the manner in which Argent Tournament character information is saved, reputations with Sunreavers and Silver Covenant are reset (0/3000 in Neutral) during a faction change and do not translate.
I can also confirm that it reset, transferred two characters today and both lost all their Silver Covenant rep and gained no Sunreaver rep.
As of patch 4.2, this and all other hippogryphs are able to swim underwater, and are usable in dungeons, and I assume, battlegrounds.
There are 4 obtainable Dragonhawks, one is unique to Alliance while 2 are unique to Horde. The left over one is obtainable by both but is only obtained by buying wow tcg cards and is VERY rare or VERY expensive to buy (both in game and out. So technically 3-2 to Horde. Or 2-1 if you never buy wow tcg, same difference.
There are 5 obtainable Hippogryphs, one is unique to Alliance but while there are no unique to Horde ones they can still obtain all 4 of the others. Also lets not forget that one is another loot card from wow tcg and is probably more expensive and rare than the loot dragonhawk.
So 5-4 to Alliance or 4-3 if you do not buy wow tcg, again same difference and a difference of 1 for both HGs and DHs.
Really is there much cause for qq here? Ok I can sympathise, if you do not do wow tcg it's unfair how the Horde get access to 3 of the supposedly "other Alliance flying mounts" while Alliance get access to only one of the "other Horde flying mounts"
Of course we do not know what will happen with the new Hippogryph coming out but if it's horde exclusive i'd be a bit narked, sorry I know they will then get a unique one like allys have a unique DH but they already get 3 Hippogryphs.
And I know they are all a fairly long grind, no Hippogryph is a simple and quick task to obtain, two of them are rep grinds one is another grind BUT none of them involve getting 100 mounts which can take you getting all the hippogryphs to get to.
The argument is what Gryphons and Windriders are for, no faction can have both. Keep it that way.
With all others it's fair to have some sharing. I'm personally glad they can be shared otherwise I wouldn't have been able to have my Amani Dragonhawk on my Nelf (Therefore you could say my view on the Sunreaver is pretty neutral because I don't have a nasty craving for a DH mount but I do like the Sunreaver quite a lot, if I simply MUST have it i'll make a horde toon. Simple. Also I find Hippogryphs are a bit nicer sometimes to just sit on, Dragonhawks never stop flapping their wings even when "grounded", it might annoy some players). Nor would I have a White Hawkstrider or a Horde have a Swift Zulian Panther/Tiger.
And as for this Hippogryph? I'm buying it first, my first Champion Seal savings will be for this one, it's gorgeous!
I can confirm that, as of patch 5.1.0a, if you have the
, you will also get the
for any Horde characters on your account.
If I get this mount on my alliance character, will my horde character get the sunreaver dragonhawk?
Can this be ridden anywhere or just in Northrend?
This is also the avatar chosen by
Community Manager Rygarius
When they asked me to pick my avatar (during Wrath of the Lich King) I submitted 3 choices with the most wanted first. I wanted a regular
but it was already taken and retired (you can't reuse avatars). So my choices were:
1st preference -
2nd preference -
3rd preference -
Silver Covenant Hippogryph was available and was my first choice so it won. Sometimes, I wondered what would have happened if I had selected Anzu as my first choice instead.
White hippogryphs are among the best of animals born with leucism.
