To the Tournament!
Welcome, young knight! You must be looking to prove yourself as a worthy protector of the realm. Well, you don't look like much, but here at the Argent Tournament, we give everyone a shot, no matter how...scrawny they seem. I'll be your guide and advisor as you work your way up the ranks and become a Champion.
First off, the Argent Tournament is located in northeastern Icecrown, in Northrend. Much as I'm sure you'd like to go stampeding off and proving your might from the start, I'm going to have to ask you to be patient and prove you're determined as well as powerful.
Note: as of 7.2.5, you only need to unlock the mounts on one faction! Your character of the other faction will automatically find the corresponding mounts in their journal.

MAJOR SUGGESTIONS
For Level 77 to 82 Characters
You can start quests at the Argent Tournament at level 77 - do so. Integrate the Argent Tournament into your daily routine. They reward some of the highest experience and gold per quest available at these levels. Since many of the quests are dailies, you'll get better at learning what works best for you, speeding up the circuit each time.
For most classes, it's advised you team up with at least one other lvl77+ for Group quests.
For Level 82 to Max-Level Characters
All quests in the Tournament are solo-able by any lvl90+ class, so you can easily get through these dailies within 20-30 minutes without difficulty. Since many of the quests are dailies, you'll get better at learning what works for you, speeding up the circuit each time. Of course, if you have a friend to drag along, the time passes more quickly.

Quests
When you first join the Tournament, you'll only be able to access certain quests from your hometown race. After you prove yourself with them, you'll open up the possibility of becoming an Exalted Champion of the other races in your faction. Once you're an Exalted Champion of all of them, you'll be able to Champion the entire Tournament. There are new quests that become available each time you rank up.

Like I said before, you won't be able to take on the whole Tournament right from the start. You'll need to learn how to Joust, a valued skill here, as well as prove yourself as a warrior, both on the training grounds and across the continent.

Now that you're a Champion, let me let you in on a little secret. Some of the quests you'll be able to do now that you're a Champion give you a choice between two rewards:

that give reputation in dungeons, who really needs them anymore? No, it's better to take the

I really like that items are broken down by different types of things (e.g. cloth vs leather, ranged vs two-handed).

Just to clarify, there is no way YET to be a Champion if your race is Worgen/Goblin. The only attainable achievment is
银色候选者
. But there are responses from blizz that explain that they are working in a fix.
Btw, nice guide. Very structured and easily understandable.
EDIT: FatalHeaven is right. Yesterday i was able to start the Valiant quest as a Worgen with the City of Darnassus

Very nice guide. Its definitely thorough and explains everything one needs to know about the Tournament.
May I suggest putting a few of your sections into tabs. That is to say, have it organized a little better just for the sake of viewers who are only interested in, lets say, the heirloom rewards from the tournament.
For example you could have a section called "Purchasable Goods" and have a tab for each type of item (pets, mounts, heirlooms, armor/weapons, misc). Follow a format similar to what you used for the dailies.
Its a bit of a small change and entirely up to you.
Also, I would recheck where you get the heirloom items from. As far as I know, all heirlooms are only purchasable from

I'm doing this at 90, and I have exalted with every city faction. I'm currently on Silvermoon, and it's the only one I've done, since I'm a blood elf. Do i have to do Aspirant, Valiant, and Valiant Champion for all the others as well? And if so, how long would it take?

I want to complete this in the most efficient way possible (who doesn't?) and I've come across some people enlisting an army of alts. This seemed like a great idea, but after doing the same initial quests on a few alts, I'm beginning to suspect this method will take more time - opposed to one character from each faction doing it all. My goal is to get all the pets and mounts.
Can anyone confirm my suspicion, or is it faster to enlist alts?

It's also worth noting that heroic Trial of the Champion gives 3 Champion's Seals and takes 5-10 minutes to complete, so if you want to maximize seal income for pets/mounts its worth to run it daily :)

For people like me that got sick of the time it takes to gather seals and decided to throw every alt they had at this, it's worth noting that once one of your argent toons earns the Crusader title, the argent crusader quests (deathspeaker kharos, fate of the fallen, etc.) will be unlocked for your other champions, regardless of how many cities they actually champion.
All of my alts are champions, so I assume you have to be a champion to unlock the daily crusader quests. I doubt this would be true for a valiant or aspirant, but I can check once I get another character up to a high enough level.

hey! so ive been doing the factions dailies on my rogue that i rarely ever play anymore besides doing those dailies, so in order to get the argent warhorse i HAVE to get exalted with each city as well as champion of each city?(im on my last city right now for champion) just to be 100% sure thanks!:D

Very nice guide. It helped me a lot . Back in Wrath I came back after Ulduar and was overwhelmed by content I had to re level a new class to 80 and start gearing I completely skipped this part of the expansion and ignored it. It seemed very time consuming and confusing to me so I just forgot about it. But now the long wait for WoD I'm collecting mounts and achieves since I have raided the hell out of SoO and am happy with my PVP accomplishments. This guide helped a lot I am now exalted with the sunreavers and have 3/5 factions completed. I should have done it sooner it literally is about 20 mins of dailies a day. Thanks for the guide I can't wait for my crusader title and my mount.

This guide is excellent. Something I would add is that for speeds sake you might want to take a friend, or someone who is already there, and help them with the jousting (You can attack them if you are off a mount). It isn't that it is particularly hard, but it does take a little while when you have to do both sets of jousting. Opposite faction players can also help with this.

Great guide and good details! One thing that might be worth to mention in your guide is if you choose to faction change then you will (temporarily) lose the meta since it is tied to your faction. On the other hand if you switch back you get your "old" achievement back (the old date can be seen on it).
If you mean to do the meta again, make sure to get the teleport tabard for quicker access before you migrate for 50 seals and possibly the pets if that interests you since they are cross faction. Mounts and gear will be converted into the other factions mount. It was a while ago since i did it the second time but i remember the second grind was easier and went faster, not only because I was level 85 but you get some freebies (no rep grind among others).
Since then I have even switched a third time and that gave me the "second" achievement back (newer date stamp on it). The only other thing that has really bugged out for me with faction change is the Argent Gruntling/Squire. I couldn't summon the Squire as it was alliance only and there is no way to get it since it is a quest reward. In my case I just made a ticket claiming my right to the pet and they mailed it to me. I did NOT have to repurchase the pony bridle.

Since many people will start coming back to argent tournament now that the toy box will have the banners marked as toys, i will just point out that when you are done with all the quests needed for unlocking all dailies you will get 14 marks from dailies + 3 from trial of the champion dungeon. thats a total of 17 marks per day.

Ok, so here's the thing. I did everything on my alliance character. I got all of the mounts and what not. I have a horde toon that doesn't have any mounts from the tournament EXCEPT the two from the Sunreaver's. I'm not too sure why this is and why I don't have the other mounts.
Do I need to get exalted with the cities on my horde and they will appear? Wear a tabard, do dungeons.
Or do I need to do dailies on my horde and purchase them? Which is something I won't even do. lol

By far one of the best Guides I have seen on Wowhead. Extremely extensive notes with everything you need to start working on your dailies for the gorgeous Argent Mounts and rewards.
The only addition I could see being added is a slight warning/tip about the travelling required for the Dailies. It is very monotonous, I highly suggest anyone who is going to start to invest in one of the Rings of the Kirin Tor that ports you to Dalaran and to set your Hearthstone to the Argent Tornament to save on travel time. With 6.2 and the addition of the Garrison Hearthstone, you don't lose out on getting around Azeroth.
10/10 would definitely recommend this guide anyone who wishes to work on the Reputation.

i was planing on doing the math for this so since no one else has posted the math here i guess i will to help others out
pets: 6x 40 = 240
mounts: 7x 100 + 5x 5 + 2x 150 (+ 100 if pally) = 1025 (1125 if pally)
toys: 6x 15 =90
total: 1355 (1455 if pally)
assuming you did not complete "Crusader".
3 Champion's Seal's a day for the first 7 days doing heroic (make sure you are doing the quests to get Aspirant's Seals and Valiant's Seals)
12 seal's from dailies and 3 from heroic = 15 a day for the next 24 days (this is assuming you are exulted with The Sunreavers/The Silver Covenant)
at this point you should have 381 Seal's and unlocked 2 more quests to allow up to 17 Seal's per day so you will need 974 Seals which will take 58 days
so with out the crusader title it will take 89 days to obtain all pets,mounts, and toys
to shave some time off of this you can have 1 class from each of the home factions running this side by side, if you start running them before you get "Crusader" and follow the instructions above you will have 1905 Seals so you will have 550 extra Seals
simplified: if you run 5 races all at the same time you will get the 775 Seals needed in 16 days for the home town mounts,pets,toys and run 4 characters an extra 9 days to get the last 555 needed for the non home town faction mounts,pets,toys. totaling 25 days
now assuming you have completed "Crusader" and spent all your points on heirlooms or gear it will take you 80 days to get the 1355 Seals needed only using one race
adjusting the above info assuming you completed "Crusader" on one character but have not done the tournament on any others
days 1- 7 gives you 30 Seals and 17 Seals a day after it will take you 15 days to buy all of the home town mount,pet, toys. the character you used to get "Crusader" in those 15 days should have 255 Seals and after subtracting what was needed for the home town mount,pet,toys (155 Seals) you will have 100 Seals left to spend on non home town mounts,pets,toys which cost 555 so you need an extra 455 after the 15 days so you will need to do 9 more days on 3 toons to get the rest of the mounts,pets,toys. totaling 24 days
Conclusion:
starting from scratch with 1 race: 89 days
starting from scratch with 5 races: 25 days
starting with "Crusader" no seals 1 race: 80 days
starting with "Crusader" no seals 5 races: 24 days

Argent Tournament faction-specific mounts now grant credit for the opposite faction mount as well, adding to your mount total. For example, if you have unlocked and purchased Swift Purple Raptor on a Horde character, your Alliance character has Swift Moonsaber in the mount journal...

So it seems if you are playing on an Allied Race character (like I was with my void elf) you can't pick up the quest The Valiant's Charge as there is no faction to pick it from. All the quests up until Aspirant's seals are available though. I submitted a ticket about this today.

If you are an Allied race, Lightforged Draenai for example, you're going to hit a blocker when you finish the Aspirant stage and the game can't figure out who to send you to speak to for the Valiant stage. You're supposed to be sent to the rep for your home city, but since there is no home city rep for you, you're bone.
(I wonder if this isn't a problem for Pandas too?)

i opened a ticket questioning if i had to buy the mounts on both alliance and horde factions and i got this response from a GM
"I’m Game Master Zarrimyx and I’m here to help you out with the Argent Tournament, and whether or not you can get all the mounts for both factions by only completing one faction. I can totally understand the desire to have it work that way, because it does take quite a bit of time to complete them all.
When it comes to the Argent Tournament, everything is faction specific, and nothing carries over to the opposing faction at all. This does mean that if you want all the mounts from both factions, you would have to do the tourney on both factions. It will take a while, but if you keep at it you'll have it done on both factions before you know it. :)

I just tested a dark iron dwarf & mechagnome. After each toon completed aspirant's training, the dark iron dwarf was invited to become a valiant of Ironforge, and the mechagnome was invited to become a valiant of Gnomeregan. Unsurprising, perhaps, but given that there was a time when it looked like allied races couldn't do the Argent Tournament, I thought some folks might be interested in reading this.
Edit: Per akchipman's earlier comment, Void Elves are invited to become a valiant of Darnassus.

Keep in mind you can also run the normal version of the Trial of Champions dungeon 10 times per hour. You get a Champion's Seal everytime you complete the run (which takes 3 minutes).
Also keep in mind you can dismount your mount after you talk to the sunreaver guy and you can just kill the jousters/champions.
This will save you many many days on this grind. You can essentially get 257 seals per day if you wanted to stay up for 24 hours straight, lmao. Which would normally take you almost 20 days to accumulate. Even just doing the dungeon the 10 times per day, you can almost cut the amount of days it takes by half.

As of the start of the Shadowlands pre-patch event, it seems that the Argent Tournament dailies are no longer working.
For one, the NPCs in the Argent Pavilion are no longer in place to provide dailies, and those in the Sunreaver Pavilion (for Horde) either (1) give quests in which the required mobs are not accessible in current Icecrown (e.g. mobs that drop keys for the cages, sharks off-coast, etc.) or (2) do not allow turn-ins.
Hopefully this will pass and can be accessible again after Shadowlands launches.
Edit: As of the Shadowlands launch, the dailies are working again!

Guide seems to imply that you can skip the Black Knight chain by taking "The Black Knight's Fall" immediately, but I could not figure out how to do this. Only "The Black Knight of Silverpine?" was available to me, which was a crumb for the dusty journal.

I've been doing a lot of digging on this but haven't been able to find an answer... I am a Horde Undead Mage, I've completed the Undercity, Orgrimmar, and Thunder Bluff dailies to become their champion, but once completing Thunder Bluff dailies I have been unable to select a new faction to pursue (I still have Sen'jin and Silvermoon). I have checked every day for two weeks to see if they would unlock, I've contacted a GM who told me there were no issues with my account and that I need to check WoWHead for more information, of which I've found none. I've read about issues regarding Allied Races and Race Changed characters, but that doesn't apply here. At this point, I'm lost, does anyone have any advice?

One note, as you get further along in this you can get a LOT of daily quests. Make sure your quest log is relatively empty or you'll have to do them in chunks.

As of today, I received the meta achievement on a character with 3/5 Exalted Champions, got access to the quartermaster, and all my alts have access to the quartermaster too, including my paladin alt. Even my non-Tournament alts can access Dame and pick up the 2 dailies.
