The Mage Tower base appearance must be earned during Legion, but the tints can be unlocked after Legion, which involves rated battlegrounds, a heroic Kil'jaeden kill, and clearing all Legion dungeons. In addition, the unlock progress on the tints is class-wide, so you don't need to complete the requirements multiple times wielding different sets of artifacts. You just need to have the base Mage Tower appearance unlocked, and you will earn progress towards each tint simply by doing that activity, regardless of artifact equipped.

Living Infernal Core has a small chance to drop on all difficulties except LFR.

Skull of Corruption is a BoP toy which only has a chance to drop for Demon Hunters.

Here starts the sales for the bird... probably going to inflate to 250k-350k gold for this one. Was 150k in WoD for the moose mount.

Comment by Nexomnix

Does that mean for sure that the PvP Prestige artifact tints will remain obtainable?

Comment by holyfox6894

There are plenty of people doing free Friendship Bird carries. Just go to google. :) I am part of a team myself, this week we will have gotten 6 people their bird, we do not charge people for carries.

Comment by Pupsader

For someone who came back to the game during Legion, how much time do we have before pre-patch hits, roughly?

Comment by Soeroah

Oh hell, the ToV armour sets are time limited?

Comment by Grortraugh

It's the Glory achieves that worry me.

Comment by 1228375

I am a bit confused about the artifact tints:
I thought they are still obtainable, but from 8.0 onward you can use those that you unlocked to transmog over your new green stuff. Those that you unlock afterwards cannot be used in transmog. Has that changed? Or did I get something wrong?

Comment by Tavionn

The Mage Tower base appearance must be earned during Legion, but the tints can be unlocked after Legion, which involves rated battlegrounds, a heroic Kil'jaeden kill, and clearing all Legion dungeon.

So to clarify does that mean I don't have to do the Mage Tower, but for example as long as I kill Heroic KJ I can still get the tint?

Comment by Leandra7

Umm guys? Forgot about Ashran? Those achievements turning to FoS/Legacy were datamined too. Isn't that going away?

Comment by Inarius84

"With another expansion coming to an end, so does another season of Proving Grounds and Brawler's Guild. While not confirmed yet, it is very likely that all current achievements will be moved into the Legacy tab and fresh new ones will be added once 8.0 hits the live servers."

Am I missing something? Does Proving Grounds reward new achiements in Legion?

Comment by ED209

It's also best to hunt for the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph before these zones have CRZ slapped on them.

Comment by JohnPombrio

I wonder if the class hall mission table will be nerfed as badly as the Garrison one once the new expansion comes out. I used to make a lot of gold from the garrison mission table and poof, all the gear rewards were selling for copper instead of lots of gold. Right now, with 12 alts and all with a fully upgraded class hall mission table, I can get about $15K worth of gold daily. Finish off your follower upgrades and get all of the missions in Argus done for the table to pull in the gold ASAP in case they nerf this mission table as well.

Comment by Karneios

Why is the artifact appearances listed under gone in 8.0 when @WarcraftDevs has tweeted a couple of times that, mage tower at least, they're going at BfA launch?

Comment by b1sojf91

Anyone know if they're getting rid of those annoying text boxes that pop up in the middle of your screen that came out with Legion?

Comment by Rusarules

I still think it's a little bull#$%^ they put toys and other @#$% on these bosses.

Comment by 1853820

Any word on if the 13 unique weapon xmogs from the invasion scenario end bosses are staying or going?

Comment by Lainea

Is it confirmed that the artifact power system will go for good? Wouldn't it make sense for it to stay available for people levelling, then it just stops being a thing at lvl 111? Surely they wouldn't scrap the whole system for the whole legion expansion.

Comment by mrpennfo1d

Is the Horder taking all of Kalimdor and the Alliance taking EK? If so, are the factions like Wintersaber Trainers or Tranquillien going away?

Comment by mymy379

Skull of Corruption is a BoE toy which only has a chance to drop for Demon Hunters.

Was hotfixed to BoP shortly after release. See this comment.

Edit: Guide was updated, ignore this comment.

Comment by SiegmundFretzgau

Don't forget collections (transmog and pets).
Pets like the Fossorial Bile Larva/Fossorial Bile Larva wil be massively more expensive in BfA, when nobody is farming for them.
BoE raid transmog gear could go either way, nobody will be equipping it for stats, but supply will be minimal. (LFR BoE prices more likely to go up, Mythic BoE prices more likely to go down)

Comment by Belatherix

With the changes in professions will we be losing "Legion Master of All" for getting all eleven professions to level 800?

Comment by dukem12

I'm sure this has been answered before but will we be able to transmog our artifact weapon appearances onto other weapons in Battle for Azeroth? (Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a few months now and I haven't had the time to go through and listen to all the podcasts and read all the new posts).

Comment by lambd1

I have a question, that might make me seem like a noob, but who cares? In the article, under the section about the "Violet Spellwing" mount, there is this sentence: "While Ahead of the Curve: Argus the Unmaker will be gone in 8.0, you can still obtain Violet Spellwing until Battle for Azeroth launches." What is the difference between 8.0 and the launch of Battle for Azeroth? The sentence makes me think that these are two different events, which happen at different times. What's more, the sentence seems to say that 8.0 will take away Ahead of the Curve: Argus the Unmaker but that the mount will still be available for a time after that, until at some later point the mount becomes unavailable due to Battle for Azeroth launching. What is the difference between these two times? I don't understand.

Comment by blackbirdxer0

"Blizzard has already announced that most of the appearances will be still obtainable in Battle for Azeroth, all but the Mythic+ Valorous tint and Mage Tower base appearance. Their removal will happen because both are based on activities that will lose their sense of challenge once Battle for Azeroth changes hit."

Bogus. Make said scenarios sync, akin to how timewalking scales levels/stats. There may be a lot of backlash for people who just start rolling in towards the last month or so of the xpac and miss out on the opportunity.

Hopefully, the Keystone Master tint will become account wide, since it is an achievement.

Comment by Oanish

Will Strand of the Ancients be added to this as it seems to be removed in BfA?
I know the original post said the achievements are still under PvP, but it'd be worth mentioning for those that follow this guide and not the news.

Great guide, though! Really useful for completionists :D

Do you think Pantheon's Blessing will become unobtainable, just like Crystallized Fel?

Comment by SiegmundFretzgau

Wingmen might get a lot harder when leveling beyond 110, as all Draenor mobs get grey and don't give rep anymore. I haven't tested it on beta how it works there

Comment by pouljin

Are the gone fishing and let's do lunch achievo's going away for Darnassus / UnderCity?

Comment by Mujex

Thank you for this tip.

I will hunt them all :D

Comment by Quonoa

A few things I don't see in the post I think should probably be mentioned for collector/completionist players:

With Ashran, it's worth noting that the Vol'jin's Spear and Wrynn's Vanguard reputations will be unobtainable when Ashran is retired, making 100 Exalted Reputations that little bit harder.
By extension, the mounts (Breezestrider Stallion and Pale Thorngrazer), titles ( and ), and tabards (Vol'jin's Spear Tabard and Wrynn's Vanguard Tabard) from those reputations will likely also become impossible until Ashran returns.

The post currently only mentions the achievements for Ashran, which with them becoming legacy/FoS and no longer giving achievement points, are probably not as valuable to collectors/completionists.

Probably also worth noting that players looking to obtain will NOT need to complete the SotA achievements before BfA, as SotA has been removed as a requirement from the achievement for the title in BfA and will still be obtainable, unlike how was removed with the removal of 5v5 arenas.

Last thing I don't see mentioned in the post probably worth noting is the mount, heirloom, pets, and shirts rewards from Brawler's Guild being removed.

Comment by Mojohobo

Sorry if its been mentioned, but wasn't Mythic 15+ appearance believed to have been going away? Has that been rescinded? I no longer see it in this guide.

Comment by auriliagilneas

Do we have confirmation that the Spellwing (or more specifically, the related quest drop to obtain it) will still be available until BfA launches, and won't be removed with the prepatch?

Comment by marclar

Guys, there is one thing you've missed in this otherwise great guide - The feat of strength for completing the Class Hall Campaign on all 12 Classes (A Legendary Campaign) Do you know what happens with that? When does it go away? And also other Class Hall content, like the pets from the Druid Class Hall.

Comment by AmiYuy

You're missing the Pet Charms change: https://www.wowhead.com/news=284616/battle-pet-currency-changes-in-battle-for-azeroth-polished-pet-charm

Comment by 1220904

Anyone know if Legion Legendaries will stop dropping at the pre-patch? Or at the BFA Launch?

I'm trying to complete my collection (on my main, at least), and I'd like to know how much time I have left.

Comment by 1190538

Prestige achievs will go to legacy…. Sadly it wasn't written in this "guide" or whatever it is

Comment by HugZombies

Thank you for all your efforts in compiling this post! WOWHEAD community is <3

Comment by damorons

Guide also fails to mention the pet battle changes. There are some changes to specific pets (ie Teroclaw Hatchling and Bone Serpent) that are key to certain strats. This will make things like Wailing Caverns, Family Familiar, and Fel Beasts of Argus more difficult until new pets and strategies are found.

Comment by stormrage666

And now this article is in our memory.

It was pretty good and worth tracking it.

Comment by 1370823

sad they removed the chosen. they have totally abandoned support for the expereince cancellation. it is very sad they did not just move this to a fos and put "at level 110 with only gear available from trial of valour mythic or prior" in the description..like..it is very sad. you can still do the ulduar one..so why? the devs are not thinking straight here. all support for twink groups has basically been abandoned.

Comment by Eighjan

Another thing not mentioned is that the Order Hall Advancement tree has been categorically screwed over, with many of the Tiers removed... :-/

Comment by lovewillkill

Just found out tonight about the change from Shiny Pet Charms to Polished Pet Charms. There is no mention of this change in this article, even though a little research shows that you posted about it back in May. Thanks to Wowhead, I'm now stuck with 1,038 useless pet charms that I had been saving for the new expansion. Thanks for that.

Comment by 1897938

I don't see it listed here, but I just need to confirm to make sure. The Paragon of Argus achievement isn't going away when BFA launches, right? I'm SO close to completing it, but Mistress Alluradel probably won't pop before the 14th.
