Cata was absolutely incredible, some of the best times playing a caster, and the original guild system and perks before they were gutted.
Would love to see Cata, dungeons and raids (except DS) were fun
Ya no, I'll never play Classic Cata and I'll unsub again if they get rid of Wrath servers.
WoW "Classic" ends at WOTLK...shouldn't call it classic wow after that, tho I don't want Cata personally..Should rename it to like Legacy servers or something. Classic WoW was always a trilogy in my and a lot of peoples eyes.
You know as a Hunter Main it's ironic people talk about Cataclysm as the end of an era. Because Cataclysm is when Survival becomes one of it's most enjoyable forms, BM is un%^&*ed from the abortion that is WotLK and the entire class feels well rounded and unique.
we all know its coming out, just give us the date :)
Interestingly, they say "World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic" but use it distinctly from "The next World of Warcraft Classic expansion", implying it might not be Cataclysm. I am all in for WotLK+, go full OSRS and make a completely new, non-cata expansion with new features. (smaller than a full expansion, maybe, but more frequent patch style updates?) and ideally only good features people want, like Tmog, while skipping over some others people don't want, like raid finder. But a new story.
It's been pretty obvious with the state of servers/queues and how they refused to take precautions (knowing what happened during Classic and Classic TBC), that the whole classic project (including things like season of mastery) just exists to milk as much sub money while not even giving the bare minimum in return.
Cataclysm was whack. by the end of wotlk the social aspect and game difficulty had all gone to crap. anyone who still played was just trying for some kind of serotonin drip, the execs knew they would be whales for the coming DLC sales. if they end up trying cata classic they will sub huge sub drop and feel really stupid for not taking the wow classic idea in a different direction i.e unexplored themes, "emerald dream" and that
I want it just so we can get to MoP, cata with changes would be perfectly fine, dragon soul lasting so long and lfr are some of the things i can think of that people mostly hate it for. Prenerf heroics would be sick to run and the pvp was fun. Also I wish I knew how they decided to send surveys out, I put a TON of hours into classic and I've yet to get a single survey about anything.
I started in Cata. It holds a place of nostalgia for me the rest of classic just doesn't and I'd love to see it and MoP again.
no, just no. ewwww.
I am apart of 3 raiding guilds and i have heard maybe 4 people looking forward to Cata while i know at least 60 have said, very strongly i might add, that there is no chance they will stay for Cata. They probably would be down to try new classic content though. Those would be the people you would want to get this survey.
i would be intensely interested to learn how many players would stick with classic cata, i wouldn't play it. i wonder if blizz is worried that an arguably huge slice of their playerbase is just going to stop playing WoW all together when Wotlk is done
Cata is criminally underrated, with proper numbers tuning it could give any x-pac a run. LFR should just share a lock out with N/H, make it an accessibility option basically, that way it is not a replacement for normal raiding, but still give people a chance to experience it even if they choose not to play more "hardcore". Class design was mostly amazing, living up to fantasy and adding new features to further enhance your Spec/Role's playstyles.People dog on the matchmaking, but it allows for players to have lives, and before WoD the game generally respected your playtime fairly well, partly due to how well it empowered ALL players to be able to play. Many of us are no longer students or single and making sure the game remains accessible to us now as it was to those in our shoes back then should not be understated. Proper matchmaking does not diminish it for those choosing not to play that way.Honestly just release it with the pre-nerf dungeons, making them brain-dead easy was such a horrible change, suddenly it was just a mindless AoE slaughter, rather than requiring CC, target selection, and mechanics.
no thank you, only reason to go to classic is how the old zones used to feel, with cata comes the rework of the world zones, and at that point you might aswell play retail. That is part of the charm of classic. That the old azeroth is like a fine wine
