Spell Power - This is typically the first stat we check when evaluating a new gear piece. The more the better.

Haste Rating - Haste is fairly great, but only in very limited amounts. You will be aiming for at least 154 haste rating and then try to opt for pieces with other secondary stats.

Intellect - As this is a primary stat, it will already be on just about all of your gear but it's valueable nonetheless. It increases our crit chance, spirit-based mana regeneration, maximum mana and through that mana gained from certain abilites, including Rapture.

Mp5 - As sustain can typically be an issue at this point when undergeared, opting for mp5 over crit rating on otherwise equal pieces is a safe choice.

Emblems of Valor for Discipline Priest Healer Phase 1

Emblem of Valor are a version of Emblem of Heroism, which is obtained by killing bosses in 25-man raids. The main vendors you can exchange these at to obtain gear are Magister Brasael for the Horde and Arcanist Adurin for the Alliance.

Cloak of Kea Feathers and Renewal of Life provide the most value and should be your first purchases.

Valorous Shoulderpads of Faith and Valorous Leggings of Faith are technically the next best emblem pieces but could be skipped as getting the tokens or better alternatives from your raid isn't too unlikely.

Cuffs of the Shadow Ascendant are a decent piece by itself, but quite expensive at 60 emblems. However, since it's BoE you could technically purchase it off the Auction House or buy it on an alt and transfer it to your main.

Slippers of the Holy Light are a relatively bad deal, considering how close in value the pre-bis piece is.

Pennant Cloak and Cape of the Unworthy Wizard are quite a lot better than all the other cloaks, but are also highly sought after by caster dps.

Unsullied Cuffs is the contested best in slot piece here, great for Holy and Discipline but also all sorts of casters.

Regardless of that, there are plenty of good alternatives in this slot, most notably Bindings of Yearning, Bands of Impurity and Cuffs of the Shadow Ascendant, so it's not a big loss at all.

If you do end up getting unlucky, you can still use your emblems to buy Valorous Leggings of Faith as a placeholder instead.

The turn-in item for Life-Binder's Locket provides BiS necklaces for nearly all specs in your raid, so in most guilds healers will end up with low priority on it.

However, the 10-man version, Torque of the Red Dragonflight, isn't considerably worse so you can simply opt for that one instead without missing out on much. Chains of Adoration is actualy pretty good too, assuming you can still make use of the haste rating on it.

While the personal stat gain from Eye of the Night and Chain of the Twilight Owl is low, they provide spell power or crit rating to your party, technically making them the best for overall raid benefit.

Even though whether or not you will be able to get it will mostly just depend on the type of guild you are in, Discipline does not replace Illustration of the Dragon Soul until Heroic ICC and is generally not reliant on mana trinkets once geared enough, so you could make a case for getting one despite all of your casters wanting it as well.

While all the regular benefits of Darkmoon Card: Greatness like additional spirit-based mana regeneration, crit rate and maximum mana aren't too complicated, many abilities in WotLK provide a certain percentage of your total mana as regeneration, some good examples are Rapture, Replenishment, Shadowfiend, Hymn of Hope, and potentially even Mana Tide or Arcane Torrent. Considering this, it's important to track the proc ICD with a Weakaura so that you can use it to get a lot of extra mana from your Shadowfiend, which is necessary to get the most out of the trinket.

The static mana gained from your Shadowfiend and the extra maximum mana makes up a large amount of the mana it provides, but it also roughly grants you 20 mp5 of spirit-based mana regeneration, 35 mp5 from Replenishment and about 30 mp5 per average Rapture target. As the amount of raptures you can reliably get heavily depends on the damage profile of an encounter, it only assumes one target per internal cooldown in the table as a conservative estimate.

While DMC:G is your best option for sustain, Discipline shouldn't struggle on mana fairly soon into T7 so buying it is arguably not worth it, especially if you can just use Figurine - Sapphire Owl instead if needed.

Finally, an important distinction to make is the fact that spell power gained from proc trinket like Forge Ember is significantly worse than static spellpower gained from items like The Egg of Mortal Essence due to the risk of the buff activating at a bad time, for example, during pre-casts at the start of the fight when damage tends to be low, as well as the higher spell power preventing you from overwriting your shields unless they completely break.

Second highest regen when stacking int/crit (Darkmoon Card: Greatness is BIS but 25k gold is a lot lol)

45 sec ICD for 900 mana. If you crit within 15 seconds 4 times for proc chance that's 75 mp5 with a static 95 crit. Get it to proc before the pull and you get 900 mana back around 30 seconds into the fight. Very underrated trinket.

Ya you have the 5 minute mana cd trinkets but there isn't a fight you'll use that more than once.
