Imagine an adventurer's journey in his life so far in Azeroth.

Classic: Acquire Sulfuras, Thunderfury, Corrupted Ashbringer & Atiesh.

TBC: Acquire The Bladefist, Gorehowl, Warglaives, Skull of Gul'dan and Thori'dal. Kill Shade of Aran with Atiesh.

Wrath: Acquire Val'anyr and Shadowmourne. Arthas dies to retconned Ashbringer :(

Cata: Kill Al'akir with Thunderfury, Kill Ragnaros with Sulfuras, Acquire Dragonwrath and Fangs of the Father, Kill Deathwing with Fangs (though he technically died to Dragon Soul).

Mist: Acquire Legendary Cape, defeat Garrosh with Gorehowl, obtain Tusk of Mannaroth, optionally picks up Xal'atoh.

Warlords: Kill Ner'zul with Shadowmourne. Kill Kargath with The Bladefist, get another pair. Kill Blackhand with The Black Hand. ~~Smash Gul'dan with Skull of Gul'dan~~. Acquire Legendary Ring, ~~and Ultimately kill Grommash with either Gorehowl again or if you're twisted, his son's Xal'atoh.~~ Ram Mannaroth with Tusk of Mannaroth.

To some, our adventurer's actions may sound like poetry to the ears, to some it's borderline creepy. But as a bonus story, what if I told you on the first visit to Blackwing Descent, our favorite adventurer bared an eerie grin throughout the raid...because inside the trusty backpack lied two heads that failed to make it to the capital all these years...

so hold on a moment...
if we killed him while he was weak or did something else that would destroy the portal and severely weaken him everything would have gone different, some quest wouldn't exist whole patches would have been scrapped and the coming expansions had to take a different turn just because we didn't release him?
