The Contract

Patch 4.3 will offer the most deadly and experienced rogues the opportunity to finally play a central role in the fate of the world the rogue's way: by manipulating key events from the shadows. Players will travel across continents to accomplish crucial missions of reconnaissance, burglary, infiltration and, of course, assassination. Those familiar with the events that unfolded in the Badlands since the Cataclysm struck may recall the story of Rheastrasza, the ambitious red dragon who acquired a black dragon egg and magically purified it, cleansing it of the Black Dragonflight's corruption. While those events may lead to a more hopeful destiny for Azeroth, it will take cleverness, stealth, skill, and the help of a few friends to unravel the web of intrigue that will reveal what became of the egg... and determine the fate of Deathwing himself.

Wetwork

Rogues willing to do whatever is necessary to ignite a brighter future must first delve into the Dragon's Soul raid dungeon to begin the quest line. Those who prove their prowess within will be set on a collision course with Ravenholdt Manor and the enigmatic Black Prince, Wrathion. This shadowy figure could be the key to victory for the mortal races, but what is his true agenda? Before the truth behind these mysteries are revealed, enterprising assassins will need to fight tense raid battles against Deathwing's most powerful minions, and embark alone on perilous missions to seal the fate of the Black Dragonflight. The quest culminates in the earth-scorching execution of Deathwing himself and a shocking revelation about the true nature of the mission.

What's in it for me?

Rogues who succeed will receive a paired set of daggers that will become increasingly lethal as their bearer progresses along the legendary quest. At the height of their strength, they will be imbued with the vile essence of the Old Gods, as well as the maddened fury of the Black Dragonflight -- bestowing great power upon their bearer. These powers include a stacking increase to Agility which builds until dark wings unfurl from the rogue's back, removing the combo point cost and increasing damage of finishing moves for a short time. In addition, the wings which can be spread on command (with no combat benefit) to slow a rapid descent, allowing the rogue to slowly fall to the ground... or enact a little death from above! When it comes to dealing death, the Fangs of the Father promise legendary killing power to rogues of any specialization.

An incredible adventure and legendary rewards await. The future of all life on Azeroth hangs in the balance. Better get moving.

Am I understanding it correctly that once Fury of the Destroyer procs, you have 6 seconds to spam full power finishing moves? If that's the case, these are certainly worthy of being called Legendary.

Can't wait to lay my hands on those :P
Any idea if combat or assasination spec could use them more efficiently? I believe spamming Envenoms is way better than Evscerates, so I will go assasination for this patch. Also combat rogues will get energy capped by spamming eviscerates for 6 seconds, which means lost dps.

Fury of the Destroyer + Restless Blades = Sprint off CD, Redirect off CD, and 1 minute off the CD on Adrenaline Rush and Killing Spree

The set bonus feels most beastly for Combat rogues i think. Since Assassination rogues get the most use out of envenom from the poison buff. Subtlety could be cool too if it procs while Find Weakness is on your target for 6 demolishing eviscerates.

As far as I know, you cannot pickpocket the 4th boss if you entered the raid by using LFR. Every time that you try (I did it twice) it says that the boss has her pockets empty or already pick-pocketed. I do not know if this is a restriction valid just for the the first week of the patch or if it will be changed in the future. I will check again in the future and update.

All though i like the Epic buff for the rogues agility i wished they kept the (in my opinion)
awesome look of the Warglaives of Azzinoth. They looked great and had the buff to do massive damage.(At the time) and i know with Transmog. you can make them look that way but to me its just not the same. :/ either way im probebly gunna get pwned in PvP by these beautiful Blades. Nice job Blizz!

The only other 416 dagger in game is Blade of the Unmaker with +20 agi and the same stamina. But if you add a 40 agi gem and get the 10 agi from socket bonus it's a clear you have +30 agi on any of the legendary daggers.

There's no question about it. The 2 legendarily daggers are a clear choice for a rogue.

Legendary vs. 2x Blade of the Unmaker

+60 Agility
-182 Mastery rating (1 point of mastery)
+156 Critical strike rating
+149 Expertise rating
-28 Haste rating (insignificant 0,2%)
+148 Hit rating

And additionally the set bonus, Weighted Blades on the main hand and the slow fall as well as the slower offhand.

There is a strange sense of inconsistency when in the ending cinematic for the completion of this chain, Wrathion remains true to his bad-ass self in humanoid form, but then turns into a tiny baby black dragon whelp and flies away. Size really doesn't matter! O_O

Is anybody else disappointed Heart of the Aspects was not to do with the legendary, and Soul of the Aspects being the matching guild reward? Seemed the mount would be appreciated a lot more if it was less common, rather than just another cashcow for blizzard :(.

The wings are useful for PvP too, instead of having a cloak enchant, use Your daggers. I wonder if hunters will ever get a legendary questline btw.

As of Patch 5.4, some speculation on MMO-Champion has arisen about these daggers,
One poster, Ainurr, found in the patch notes that the legendary (and all tiers of the dagger) are getting buffed.

Jaws of Retribution - Item - Dragon Soul Legendary Daggers Your melee attacks have a chance to grant Suffering, increasing your Agility by 7, up from 2, stacking up to 50 times.
The proc results into 350 Agility, up from 100 Agility.

Maw of Oblivion - Item - Dragon Soul Legendary Daggers Your melee attacks have a chance to grant Nightmare, increasing your Agility by 17, up from 5, stacking up to 50 times.
The proc results into 850 Agility, up from 250 Agility.

Fangs of the Father - Item - Dragon Soul Legendary Daggers Your melee attacks have a chance to grant Shadows of the Destroyer, increasing your Agility by 57, up from 17, stacking up to 50 times. Each application past 30 grants an increasing chance to trigger Fury of the Destroyer, which immediately grants 5 combo points and causes your finishing moves to generate 5 combo points. Lasts 6 sec.
The proc results into 2850 Agility up from 850 Agility.

I think that in order to add real value to these and other Legendaries, Blizz should make all legendaries into some kind of Personal Heirloom for the character who earns it. So they would scale up as the character levels up, and they wouldn't become obsolete. In order to maintain balance, they could not be as powerful as next lvl cap raid weapons but they should still be useful.

Or maybe develop personal quests to increase their power and bring it up the next tier... I mean, not easy-to-do quests, but for example, Rogues could have continued working for Wrathion in Pandaria in order to infuse the Daggers with the "Power of the Celestials" or something, and bring them up to ilvl 550 for example... That would be an amazing option, and the same should be possible with Sulfuras, Shadowmourne, the Staff and the Windfury Sword...

That would provide extra content and promote continuity...

It's very sad to see Legendaries being used for only the later part of an expansion and then quickly become obsolete once the next one hits.
