Ok. There are 6 kind of fish in shadowlands, one kind exclusive per map and two that you can fish in any waternode just one is pretty common and another is quite rare.

Lost Sole 迷失的鰈魚 – you can and will fish this everywhere around 45-50% of your casts.
Elysian thade 樂土幽魚 – this ones are a rare catch, a bit more common in the harder zones. They come like once per 50 casts or so. Are the equivalent to midnight salmons, are used to craft bankets.
Silvergill Pike 銀鰓狗魚 – you can fish this in Bastion
Pocket bonefish 有凹痕的骨魚 – you can fish this in Maldraxus
Iridiscent amberjack 彩色鰤魚 – you can fish this in Aderweald
Spinefin Piranha 刺鰭食人魚 – you can fish this in Revendreth

In shadowlands all are inland water pools, and as far as I tried there is no difference inbetween all the pools in one map in terms of cath percentaje. Even in maldraxus there is no difference into fishing in green or black water.

The fisher trainer is in Oribos and is named Retriever Au’prin 漁獲者奧普林
Close to him you will find the fishvendor named Distributor Au’nagl 分銷商奧納可

This fishvendor sells baits (yeah like in draenor), are not expensive and works great, otherwise you will end with thousands of Lost Sole. You can also get baits while your fishing. I recommend baits always, specially when looking for elysian fish. The vendor also sells a pole 「仲介者垂釣竿」 (in case you don’t have the artifact one) that is good and increase your chance to fish baits.

How many fish from each kind you need to level up cooking?. Put in mind that around 100 from each one. But the most important thing is that in this expansion you cant level up cooking just with fish. There is no a full route with only fish or only meat recipes. Almost all recipes requires fish and meat, so you will have to hunt some beast also xD.

As some people seems to look for good spots to fish, gonna name one for each map. For me a good spot, and even more in the beginning of an expansion, is a place where you can fish safe and quiet and close to a flight path in order to move forward once needed xD.
So:
• In Bastion, go to Sagehaven flightpath
• In Maldraxxus, go to Theater of Pain flightpath
• In Anderweald, go to Refugee Camp flightpath
• In Revendreth, go to Darkhaven flightpath

I got almost 57% success rate (w/ bait applied) in Ardenweald, on the west side of Glitterfall Basin.

Just fished for about 40 mins in Ardenweald just north east of Hibernal Hollow
I fished up
56 Lost Sole
53 Elysian Thade (I had caught a bait for them so 30 mins i used that)
29 Iridescent Amberjack
and 42 junk items.

I fished in Queen's Conservatory using Elysian Thade Bait and in 30 min I got 87 Elysian Thade
Seems higher chance than the other places I fished at.

The Queen's Conservatory is a private instanced area. You can fish in peace and quiet with no sign of anyone to take your fish or gank you! :) It even has schools to fish up Amberjack. I was also able to catch Lost Sole and Elysian Thade.

i fished with Elysian Thade Bait for 30 min in Bastion at Purity's Reflection and got:
63 x Elysian Thade (about 55 %)
16 x Lost Sole
15 x Silvergill Pike
2 x Shrouded Cloth Bandage
1 x Laestrite Skeleton Key

and 19 x trash

I found a fishing node for these in Ardenweald. Also fished up a bait for them there. I got 61 of the Elysian Thade from that one spot after the node was fished out. The node was in a pool of water just at the base of a fall, along the road up to Starlit Overlook. The road starts at: Archivist Dreyden and goes up from there.

After 30 minutes fishing in the open water of the 女王的栽培園 with max fishing skill and an 樂土幽魚釣餌, the count for me was as follows:

- 82 樂土幽魚
- 27 彩色鰤魚
- 36 迷失的鰈魚
- 10 迷失的鰈魚釣餌
- 2 彩色鰤魚釣餌

This fish has such limited usage that there is just simply not enough demand to keep up with the supply. Blizzard please add more recipe that uses this!

There's no need for school nodes. You can cast in any random water. I fished in Bastion without any bonus to skill, and over 75 casts (Shadowlands skill 17-61), pulled 40 Thade. That makes roughly 53% in my case. Pretty good haul.

Ok, not having access to The Queen's Conservatory (I'm Necrolord), I had to find an alternative place to help the guild farm Elysian Thade for feasts. I had, what I feel, REMARKABLE success in Maldraxxus.

Went to The House of Eyes (52,17), right at the base of the structure, and fished the green goo. With a lower Shadowlands fishing skill at 90, I had the Broken Angle'r equipped (fishing vendor in Oribos), and used Elysian Thade Bait. I fished for 30 minutes, and yielded the following:

- 50 Elysian Thade
- 27 Pocked Bonefish
- 27 Lost Sole
- 6 Pocked Bonefish Bait
- 5 Lost Sole Bait
- 16 junk items

Hope this helps peeps that can't get access to The Queen's Conservatory.

Following the advice from Cheezeslice here in this comments section I fished at 50.78 17.69 in Maldraxxus for half an hour using 樂土幽魚釣餌, with an effective fishing skill of 242 using these items:

納特的喝酒帽, I forgot to apply the bait.
釣魚 on gloves.
海灣長靴.
奧金釣魚竿 enchanted with 高強度恆金魚線.

For the duration of this I caught 117 fish as well as 3 bait. Averaging out to 3.9 fish a minute.

My ratio of catches:
74 樂土幽魚. 61.7%
23 有凹痕的骨魚. 19.2%
17 迷失的鰈魚. 14.5%
3 有凹痕的骨魚釣餌 2.5%

Very good fishing spot. I was safe and undisturbed for the duration. Excellent spot if you want to catch these and don't have access to The Queen's Conservatory!

If you need it for the quest today and it's expensive, don't bother buying it, buy the bait for it and fish for it.

MOST IMPORTANT: If fishing at Forge of Afterlives, face your toon away from the center. Otherwise the visual ripple will prove distracting at best, nauseating at worst.

TL;DR - Even starting with a lower fishing skill level it looks like using Elysian Thade bait produces at least a 50% catch rate.

i went with a new fishing rod a fishing skill of 1 and elysian-thade-bait
32 casts and i had my fish - actually caught 20 as i thought that was how many i needed so 10 fish in 15mins-ish?

Having become a bit burned out by running back-to-back delves for these past few weeks, I decided to work on leveling up one of my alt's fishing skills in past expansions.

I took my alt to 昇靈堡 in Shadowlands and stood on a boulder in the pond roughly north of Hero's Rest, about 53.64, 32.50 according to TomTom. This is the same pond that has the rare fishing world quest (釣魚：榮光閃鱗魚). I started at 24/200 暗影之境釣魚 and stopped when I had achieved 200/200, it took about 90 minutes all together.

No special pole, no special bait.

My catch was:

115 x 迷失的鰈魚
109 x 銀鰓狗魚
72 x 樂土幽魚
11 x 舊手套
11 x 破損的釣魚竿
9 x 失落的耳環
4 x 雷瑟瑞骷髏鑰匙
3 x 迷失的鰈魚釣餌
3 x 吃了一半的魚
2 x 生鏽的鎖鏈
2 x 奧睿博司浮標
1 x 樂土幽魚釣餌

What stood out to me was that I caught the bulk of the 樂土幽魚 while my Shadowlands fishing skill was below 75/200. Even using the 樂土幽魚釣餌, which was fished up when my alt was at 121/200, I caught fewer 樂土幽魚 than I had before 75/100 暗影之境釣魚. Go figure.
