I'm not completely sure there is not another weapon or shield already with the name but every time I see the Paladin protection artifact weapons I just feel as though they should've made them the Truthseeker (sword) and Oathguard (shield). It just seems more appropriate to me I guess, the offensive sword seeks the truth while the defensive shield guards the sacred oaths made by the paladins. *shrug*

I love the models for this. The sword is alright, but I'm already looking for other one handers to tmog that will work for the different models for the shield. I'm thinking of something out of Ulduar to match the Titan theme. I feel kinda bad about wanting to tmog over the artifact weapon that was made specifically to go with the shield, but not bad enough to not do it.

I was wondering, you know, just out of curiosity... WHY THE HECK DO I HAVE TO GET CRIT ON BOTH PARTS? I mean, sure, there are some situations where you are solo etc., but most of the time this should be a part of a raiding gear, where haste or VERSATILITY would be waaaay better for a tank(although I get it, this will be used as PvP weapon aswell but the majority won't use prot as a PvP spec). I think Blizz scored an own goal with this... I take any objections, maybe to refresh my view on this

I can't be the only one who thinks the textures on this look real bad, right? They are really low-res.

It's a really cool design, but I keep thinking something is wrong with my settings because of how pixelated and low resolution the textures are on this thing. It looks bad even moderately close up.

I tried to compare it to the other artifacts to make sure I wasn't just seeing things, and the others are just much sharper and higher resolution textures.

Play-by-play of Truthseeker's hidden ability to sense demons.

In the first image, you are somewhat close to the demon. You will gain a buff, and notice an aura emanating from you. Run around "inspecting" NPCs. When you get close enough to the disguised demon, the game will prompt you to use Eye of Tyr, as seen in the second image. The Eye of Tyr will then expose the demon, allowing you to kill it and get some loot.

For any paladins starting the artifact quest, if you are missing a 1H weapon and/or shield, you can pick them up from Eadric the Pure 『純淨者』埃卓克 located in the Paladin Order Hall, Sanctum of the Light. Here's near the Dalaran portal next to a table in the middle of the room.

The ability 提爾之眼 is attached to the Protection Paladin artifact weapon 真理之盾, and can be used as a combat ability when equipped at any time.

HOWEVER - there's also a secondary use of the ability. On the Broken Isles, a few different locations have demons disguised as regular NPCs. These NPCs can be spoken to, and often say something suspicious in response.

When Truthguard is equipped near one of these demons, however, it begins to radiate a holy glow and - after a moment - a button will appear above the action bars prompting you to use the artifact's Eye of Tyr ability. If you're close enough to the demon (which you should be if you have the Eye of Tyr button prompt), using Eye of Tyr will trigger Truthguard's hidden effect 聖光顯形.

聖光顯形 will knock the disguised demon down and reveals their demon form, allowing you to fight and kill them. You'll also occasionally you'll hear NPCs nearby commenting on their formerly-disguised comrade suddenly being revealed as a demon.

Currently have found a few disguised demons that can be revealed in this way:

Dareer at Hemit Nessinwary's camp in Highmountain: 達瑞爾

Batmaster Claud at the Forsaken camp at Dreadwake's Landing in Stormheim: 蝙蝠管理員克勞

Horkus at Shackle's Den in Azsuna: 霍克斯

Lord Adder in Dalaran: 愛德領主

Astry Fallenbough at the Temple of Elune in Val'sharah: 亞斯崔‧落枝

Maxwell Caprina in Bradensbrook in Val'sharah: 麥斯威爾‧卡不里納

Malefica in Sylvan Falls, Highmountain (Aviana's Shrine): 瑪列菲卡

Armond Thaco in New Dalaran: 亞蒙德‧薩科

Houndmaster Payne in Greywatch, Stormheim: 馴犬者派恩

Holk the Wanderer in Thunder Totem (top floor, SW side outside): 『漫遊者』霍克

The revealed demons will occasionally drop some Order Hall resources and Artifact Power.

If you reset your artifact weapon (the talents/traits) you DONT lose any artifact power except for the artifact power you pay for the reset!

I just had my Truthguard explode and save my life. I was tanking about 7 elites in Suramar City. At near death I popped my Ardent Defender and fat fingered my Devine Steed. I saw my health hit 1%, then bam! Holy explosion! Every single thing I was tanking died and I was left standing victorious.

Not sure if this is a hidden artifact power but I can't attribute my survival to anything else. I've searched for others experiencing this but haven't found anything.

Not sure if it was a combination of things I did or what.

Can confirm that this does assist in finding the demon disguised as a Nightborne in Court of Stars. It emanates a humming sound when you are near it.

I am a lvl110 Prot Pally ilvl 779 and every time I call Lord Adder out, all I get when he is dead is Sticky Volatile Substance! Nothing else, Not even Resorces! Kinda upsets me that he is that lvl and Elite and drops an item worth about 21 silver and nothing else for me. I have called him out multi-times (approx. 20) using Eye of Tyr when it pops ( The Light Reveals). Does this happen to a lot of peeps or am I just that unlucky?

If you wear this around 守衛者提爾 after completing his questline (final quest released in 10.2), he will have some special dialogue for you!

The items you can wear to get special dialogue are the following: 白銀之手, 真理之盾, & 永恆之手

Just a heads up for Legion Remix... The Truthguard artifact you get given doesn't work on the spy. However if you change the transmog to another Truthguard look, it will work. Go figure lol.
