So this is how Garrosh dies? Seems untimely just being the start of the expansion and all.Final part in a 7-8 quest chain starting with the Orgrimmar Warchief board that leads from Org to Bilgewater to Ashzara tower to a so-so cutscene of the air assault on Twilight Highlands....parachute off at the end and have fun questing from 84-85.

This quest may appear to be broken, but it is not.

You will just sit it out and wait roughly 5-7 minutes on the Zeppelin to take you. The two goblins sitting atop will have some chit-chat about random things and then Friz will state "The Zeppelin will be here in 3 minutes".

Just stick it out and it'll come for ya.

Hobart Grapplehammer: As you know, air weighs nothing. So to create a lighter-than-air vessel, we had to bend a few rules.
Assistant Greely: We bent the crap outta them!
Hobart Grapplehammer: The Spear of Durotar is filled to the bursting point with combustible, super-heated gas.
Hobart Grapplehammer: Bilgewater engineers have taken advantage of its inherent high-altitude instability and resultant low-cost.

Note, if for any reason you fall off the airships, you will quickly lose sight of them...i was on my flying mount and accidentally clicked off the edge of the ship. at 310% speed, i couldnt keep up with them. Had to hearth back to org and get on again.

Quest is definitely bugged. Tried the mounting bull^&*! many different ways no luck. Captain disappears every time after loading screen. This may be because of when the world server went down earlier. But its definitely bugged on Lightning's Blade. A lot of people have opened tickets including myself, mine personally is "escalated" now just waiting on the response as I watch more and more people find out this quest is bugged.

Theres some type of bug where the Zeppelin loads with no NPCs besides the driver which dosn't allow the event to take place.. I've tried it about 5+ times was wondering if anyone knew a way around this? I don't know why Blizzard would make the quest a pre-requisite for all others at Twilight and have it be bugged since Beta..

You MUST listen to the whole 6 minute RP before getting on the Zepplin, otherwise it will bug the same as if you mount up on the Zepplin.

Okay, so far - no bug if you're on mounts on Live.

However, previous poster tip still applies - DON'T leave the zep. Just sit there. Because you will fall off, get left behind, probably be ejected over fatigue water, die, fall, have to corpserun, rez, run some more, hearth back to Org, travel back to Azshara, abandon quest, take it over, listen to 5 minute RP and sit down on zep. AGAIN.

So please. For your own sake...sit and enjoy. Don't try to fly/mount up/fly off the zep. It's NOT worth the headache.

The quest has to be bugged. There's no one on the zeppelin when it arrives after the goblins talk for 6 minutes. I'm pretty sure the fleet is supposed to be on the zeppelin with you, but they're not.

SPOILERS!

Pay attention to the event-filled flight.

Garrosh gives a rousing speech for the Horde that seems to be about power and dominance, not freedom or justice.

Then...

Garrosh is an over-aggressive idiot that gets everyone into trouble, especially himself.

Deathwing shows up.

Twilight Dragons make an assault. Deathwing is finally putting them to use in a big way. The incident in the Obsidian Sanctum only slowed him down a little.

Reference to Star Wars trench run.

Reference to the Hindenburg disaster.

Appearance of a dragon called a "Twilight Zeppelin Eater". Yeah, it grabs on and...well...it's not good.

Worst disappointment: You never get to man the guns.

Best. quest text. EVAR! After I got on the zep I re-read the text, missed the whole Deathwing vs. Zep fight and didnt get a parachute so I jumped off and died. Corpse run was well worth the lulz!

Just a couple FYI points on this quest.

- First, just sit tight and wait for the zeplin. You're going to have to listen to the monolog between the two goblins before the zeplin arrives. It's worth listening to.

- Second, there will be a movie, you'll have to go through as you travel to Twilight highlands, at the end, you will have to a parachute to safety. Once you've landed on the boat, with your parachute, look behind you; there you will find Admiral Stonefist.

This quest is SERIOUSLY glitched. I did it fine on my main - then when I came with another toon, I waited for the 7 minutes. Now, two seconds before the Zep arrived, another player came, activated the quest, then happily jumped onto my zeppelin.

All was fine, but then when the zeppelin took off, it kicked ME off it! The other guy got to go through with the quest on my zeppelin, while I was forced to fly back up and go through ANOTHER 7 minutes of waiting for his zeppelin. I don't think I've ever been that irritated with blizzard before, and I have had several issues. Was awful.

Edit: I don't see why this was down rated as it was my personal experience and I was telling it in case others had the same one. Coming back to WoW a few months later, I had no such issue with the zep and jumped on it after like a minute or something.

As of 1/3/2011, this quest is working again.

Contrary to what has been stated previously, I did not have to sit through the whole 6 minutes of the RP dialog for the quest to work. I actually showed up when the zepp arrived and just boarded.

Ah, Orcs. Their leader attacks the Alliance navy purely because he notices that they're vulnerable, and then his Admiral complains about the same navy attacking the Horde counterpart unprovoked.

by the end of the flight, there will come a blue/purple dragon on the ship, at the right side..
attach it as much as u can.. it dosent matter if you kill it.. it will fly away again if u didnt killed it, and u have here by completed the quest, just take the para-shoot down and turn in the quest.

Make sure you click the parachutes when you have the chance. Wait too long and it'll reset and eventually take you all the way back to Ashzara to start all over again.

Personally, I found this long-winded quest text quite boring. It makes the journey when you're actually on the zep take even longer than it already would. Now, I've also had to go through this quest on two of my alts and now it's even more boring. Can't wait to do it with my other 7 toons (I have one of each class). Yes, I can just go do something else irl while that speech is going on, but it'd be nice if you could skip it and save yourself 5 - 6 minutes, wouldn't it?

Okay, so I didn't get bugged, in fact totally enjoyed the wonderfully funny workup during the six minutes it took for Zeppelin to arrive. Brilliant satire of commercial flying these days. Lengthy flight to Twilight Highlands quite entertaining too ("oh, the Goblinity !"). Going to do the whole thing with my other 5 horde toons and not whine about how it takes too long, this the sort of thing that makes WoW so much more fun than spending the day speed-running through dungeons.

Took me 4 toons to see this on one of the quests, when one of the Zeppelin crashed around Ironforge low level area, one of the goblins yelled out "OH THE GOBLINITY" Made me laugh so hard Reference to : hindenburg crash in 1937. (didnt notice someone said it few comments ahead of me, i searched for it before i put, oh well)

DO NOT get off the airship once on it until you are told to do so. I wanted to check out the Alliance fleet my second time on the quests, and you get kicked off, fatigued, and then unable to fly back onto the zeppelin due to an invisible wall. The zeppelin's fly faster than a mount, so if you decide to get off, expect to have to go back to azshara to try again.

Awesome quest.

It feels so epic when you meet up with the rest of the airfleet over Baradin Bay and fly towards the Highlands. Getting really pumped from Garrosh' peptalk, ready to launch the invasion and crush the Twilight's Hammer. Too bad Garrosh ruins it with his ORC SMASH attitude but still, i loved this quest.

I fail to see how people can enjoy this quest. Looking at the other airships twitching all over the place as we flew to our destination completely kills the immersion. It looked terrible and Garrosh only furthers the annoyance by being an idiot. Overall, lame quest.

As of patch 4.2 the time it takes for the zeppelin to arrive seems to be shortened quiet a bit.

The Horde seems to be in a bit of a mix on how to engage the Alliance.

Admiral Stonefist is furious that his fleet had been attacked unprovoked by Alliance ships yet that's what Garrosh does himself and what we see happen a few times before (Anyone recall slaughtering half-dead Alliance soldiers in Icecrown?)

I suppose that's why Thrall feels as though Garrosh will ruin the Horde? But hey, without a violent leader we'd have no Warcraft now would we. :)

So, interesting note. I was on my DK alt, who happened to have On A Pale Horse. Even though he only had a 280 mount, the speed buff gave him enough speed (456% on the character sheet) that he was just fast enough to keep up with the zeppelins. I flew over to Garrosh's zeppelin, because I thought it would be humorous to do the ride on his zeppelin for once, but unfortunately, his zeppelin completely lacks any collision detection, meaning, you can't stand on his zeppelin. A pity :(

Also, if your dps is good enough, you can actually kill both the Dragon that attacks Garrosh's ship and the one that attacks your ship, you can even loot the one that attacks yours.

WooHOO! I loved this little quest segment! What fun! It was neat to feel part of a larger fleet of planes and ships, just like my Air Force days! One tip: don't leave your ship! I tried to fly over to Garrosh's ship to hang with him but you can't and my ship sped away with the others. I just landed, hearthed to Ogri, then flew to the Southern Rocketway Terminus to wait for the zeppelin again. It's worth the trouble if you do fall and lose the ships to rejoin it as a lot happens that's fun to watch.

I was howling with laughter all along.

However, the sad thing is I only got to listen to the last three minutes of the goblins' instructions. The first thing I was told after arriving was that the zeppelin would arrive in three minutes and then they started talking about the sea. Didn't even realise there was more of it before coming here.

Not sure if it was because the quest had been changed or because someone had triggered it before I arrived. There was another player in the vicinity but they didn't take the zeppelin so I've no idea.

Amusingly, even if you ignore the command to use the parachutes and just stand there, you'll still get the parachute buff and safely float the ground after the timer counts to 0 and the ship explodes.

Warning. If you do not get a parachute and decide to jump, fall, or mount up to get off the boat (even when it is time to get off), you will not receive credit for this quest and will need to repeat the quest. In other words, you must wait to abandon ship and properly do so with a parachute.

If you fail by doing the awesome experiment of mounting and attempting to fly to the commander's ship - it will fail - do not abandon the quest because by returning to Azshara after that it will immediately resummon the ship. I'm quite certain if one retakes the quest the whole Goblin dialogue will restart.

my internet died as i was on my way to the site, and when i cameback the quest had glitched out not allowing me to finish. I abandoned and went to re do it but the quest giver no longer offers it. I can't even find the zeppelin. Does anyone know the coordinates of the zeppelin?

If this bugs out due to all the NPCs disappearing (presumably a CRZ bug), try abandoning and re-taking; the forums suggest this works eventually. I'll update if it ever does...

ETA: after abandoning in orgrimmar, flying back to azshara and re-taking the quest, the event did complete successfully. Yay!

This quest is annoying to say the least. The dialogue is fun the first time, that's it. Having to sit around for 5 minutes for no reason whatsoever is lame, though.

It took me three tries on this quest to actually see the drakes attacking. I didn't see anything after Captain Krazz says: What the WHAT!. In fact after the captain said that all the people disappeared except the zeppelin driver. So I went back a tried it again. Still not successful. During my third try at the quest I actually saw everything that happened, The people stayed put and babbled, Eventually the parachutes actually showed up.
So just a warning to anyone out there having trouble with this quest. It may or may not take a few tries to actually complete this quest. That means having nothing better to do then watch the running commentary between the goblins, Over and over and over again. My advice? Grab a soda and a snack, Sit back and relax.

This was my first horde toon heading to TH, so this was my first time experiencing this trip. The quest went smoothly for me, but I did notice something odd/interesting (OK; interesting to me, anyway): all of the ships in the airfleet had propellers twirling madly except for one. The prop on the Warchief's Airship was stationary so far as I could see for the entire journey.

Guess it had some magic source of propulsion......

If you're quest bugs out, stay on the zepplin, it'll take you back to Azhara. Once there dump the quest and retake it at the tower. I tried not dumping it and it bugged out again. But it DID work once abandoned and then accepted.

If you're hated with the Steamwheedle Cartel (to get Avast Ye, Admiral!, for example), the quest can glitch up. Garrosh's airship will be twinned; one will be in its ordinary location, to the left of your ship, and the other will replace the airship you are riding.

Quest is bugged for me.
Every time I will get onto the zeppelin for about 1 minute or so and the line:Look-dwarves,Hah!They sulk like prairie dogs in holes in the ground.
After this all the npcs despawn and I have to hearth back to retry.
Hasn't worked after about 4 failed attempts.

This quest is flawed. As per everyone elses comments. Wait ages for Zeppelin, Get on, Loading screen, NPCs disappear. Use hearthstone and repeat. About to try 4th attempt

I'm an altoholic and I know I have a problem but I've done this quest at least a dozen times now and this quest bugs me the most because you pretty much can't skip it unless you choose to skip an entire zone. A bug introduced with the CRZ no one asked for causes the NPC's to despawn where you'd normally grab a parachute and complete this quest causing you to sometimes have to repeat it. I figure this quest burns about 8-10 minutes of your time, between the wait and the Twilight Highlands storytime hour and it really really stinks to have to repeat it when it bugs, sometimes more than once.

I highly suggest everyone submit a suggestion ticket via the help system to allow people that have completed this quest to be able to talk to one of the npc's at the starting tower to skip the quest outright and spawn on the ship where you ultimately wind up with a completed quest.

Just went through this for the first time today, but I got it to work after the quest failed only once. Obviously, your mileage may vary, but this is what worked for me:

Got quest in Azshara, boarded zeppelin & waited for it to depart and trigger the travel load screen.
As soon as the game returned from load & I was on a now-empty zeppelin in Twilight Highlands, I logged out. Character sat on the deck of the ship & the 20 second countdown ticked off normally. (Note: I chose 'Logout', not 'Exit Game')
As soon as I got to the character select screen, I immediately hit the 'Enter World' button.
Loaded back to the zeppelin, which was now full of NPCs and surrounded by the air fleet.

Everything worked as intended from that point on, and I was able to parachute down to the ship. Like I said, your mileage will surely vary, but hopefully this will help save someone else from an eternity of retries.

One other (possibly important) note: The first time the quest failed, I rode the zeppelin ALL the way through to the mission end location without anything happening. I kept waiting for something to work but... nothing ever did. But at the end, all it did was pause for a few seconds & then reload back in Azshara, flying back to the tower. So I just stayed on the zeppelin & rode it back around a second time. I never abandoned & reacquired the quest or anything like that.

Rode the Zep 4 times... no fleet ... i guess Garrosh death was a big hit to these guys.

this quest is broke right now it takes u to the point of porting to eastern kingdom then everything vanishes besides ur ship then after u get to the part where ur ship blows up ur ship just sites there til it restarts u from the point of getting on and if u jump it wont say u completed it

bugged and reported...when the ship leaves ...only 2 marines on board, when screen changes on way to EK, and comes back...everything disappears including any players on ship with me, there is no captain, ships guns, or parachutes...wait longer and it just returns to origin, when it gets to TH the quest does not complete, the person to turn it into is there but with the "incomplete" grey ? is above him

Completed it today without any need for relogging to circumvent NPC despawning bug. Seems fixed.

This is the coolest quest in wow...when it doesn't bug out.
I was able to do this with it working 1st try during 6.2 but I might have just got lucky. I know it never worked for me after 6.0 went live on my priest. hopefully it is fixed & I didn't just get lucky because nobody should get to miss out on this epic quest!

I found the quest was bugging when entering Eastern Kingdoms with all the npcs and airships despawning. The airship was in a continuous loop and gave me time to find a viable solution. I first jumped off over the fleet to where the quest was turned in with the NPC with a grey ? mark. I hearthed and re-boarded ship and tried logging out when the ship arrived in EK and bugged number of times and tried hard shutting down game with no success. I also tried dropping and re-accepting quest at the zeppelin tower. What finally worked for me was to board the ship mounted on a flying mount. Hope that helps others get the quest to not bug out.

This quest really ticked me off when it bugged on me...I felt as if I was in the most boring tour ever...plus the very moment I stepped on to that zep, I saw a giant molten dragon just hovering beside it. I couldn't interact with it or target it at all..it was like it was never there. I would love it if Blizzard can please just fix this.

Tried everything... for hours.
relogged dozen times, abandoned quest 3 times, tried to fly away and back to zeppelin. Nothing worked.
Than i tried to join a premade quest group, took zeppelin when i joined and stayed in group till loading screen came.
Voila, npcs wasn't disappeared,
Stayed in group anyway till i saw "quest completed"

I had problems with this quest today and none of the fixes (logging or abandon/retake or anything else for that matter) worked to make it complete. I couldn't get the animation no matter what I did. I deduced that since I never had problems with any other toons, and this one got the level 90 boost, this was probably why I had the problems. With the level 90 boost I bypassed the regular route to gaining the flight paths and since I had and used them already, this seems to have messed with quest completion. I ended up having to put in a ticket and a GM took my toon past the portion that played the animation, turned in my quest for me and picked up the follow up. I could then continue the quest chain to get the portal opened up. Just an FYI for anyone else that this happened to. And the GM responded very quickly, fixing this within an hour of my reporting it. :)

I managed to work around the bug for this by jumping off the ship, off the shore of the wetlands as soon as I spawned on the empty airship. Once I fell all the way down I mounted and flew back up slightly ahead of the ship, I had 280% flying. Eventually the actual ship spawned and I landed onto it. My first attempts I was too far back and couldn't land on it. It may take a few tries but it worked for me. Hopefully they fix this bug one day.

This is still bugged, but logging out and back in just after the quest jumps to the Eastern Kingdoms enabled me to see the event and allowed me to complete the quest and open Twilight Highlands.

So if you jump to EK and the only NPC is the goblin on the bike at the bow of the ship, log out and immediately back in again. Good luck!

And make sure you file a bug report - we need to make Blizzard has the QQ logged so they have a reason to pew-pew the problem.

This quest is definitely bugged. This morning, I sat through the 6 minute waiting period for the zep to arrive in Azshara to take me to Twilight Highlands, FOUR times before it actually arrived.

After I was finally able to board the airship in Azshara, the ship took me all the way through the Wetlands where I was able to see the animation with Garrosh and the formation. However, all of a sudden all the NPCs around me vanished and I crossed into Arathi Highlands and then the ship disappeared. I was floating in midair and my fatigue bar was dropping. I was unable to move at all, except to spin around. I didn’t want to die of fatigue and not be able to get my body, so I ended up having to hearthstone back to Storm Peaks. In hindsight, maybe I should have set it to Orgrimmar, haha!

I submitted a ticket so hopefully this will get fixed soon.

ETA: I logged out for about an hour. When I logged back in, I flew back to board the zep in Azshara and everything worked perfectly.

I'm not sure if I found a fix/workaround, or if this has been fixed, but I was able to complete this quest without an issue this morning.

I did all the prequests (running around Bilgewater) and then went to wait for the zeppelin. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I exited out of WoW completely and then logged back in, wait another minute or two and was able to catch the zeppelin and go through the flight and the dragon attack without any issues.

Hopefully this helps someone, or they've fixed the quest, I don't know.

2017, still broken. yeay....

The ship never is even visible. the dialog happens etc but the ship never arrives and apparently leaves without me without ever making an appearance.

You can't skip this quest either. seriously blizz get a grip, this time around leveling a new toon i have run into so many more bugs than normal. 7.1.5 = trash

The quest worked for me about six weeks ago. Ran it again tonight in the post 7.3.5 scaling world and it bugged the first time while I sat on my mount next to the goblins. I decided to wait a second time off of my mount and it came this time. Could the mount be part of the problem or just a coincidence? Who knows?

The quest kills a little time, make sure stand on the little pad between the goblins. Friz Groundspin will honk a horn and give a countdown starting at 6 minutes and give updates every minute until the zepp arrives. At the two minute mark Greely gives you a quick lesson on the use of an air defense cannon but declines to give a parachute lesson at the one minute mark. The zepp pulls in soon after, you need to talk to no one after you board and the zepp will leave on its own accord. You are merely along for the ride on the upcoming scenario so sit back and enjoy. Have fun storming the highlands!

Okay, i just found out something really funny/interesting... if you don't get on the zeppelin, every time, and i do mean EVERY time you don't get on, a new Deathwing spawns. Screen Shot uploaded to prove it, sitting at 6 Deathwings right now :P

I just did this quest, and the first thing that happened was Deathwing appeared nearby. He just stayed there hovering & flapping his wings but doing nothing else, for the whole time while I waited 5 minutes for the zeppelin to arrive. He continued to stay there until we left Kalimdor completely. He was also very very tiny, by Deathwing standards; like the size of a player's flying mount.

If you go to Friz Groundspin and he is only a Flight Master on the ground, and not on top of the tower, you have to take a ride on the tram to phase him to the right place (on top of the tower) to continue this quest.
