Don't bother with the quest directions... easiest way there is to start at Thunderlord Stronghold and go through cave at 54.62. Once you come to other end you are at spot to use flare.

Actually, the flare can be used in the entire region after the tunnel.
So don't run back to the tunnel. The druid you call gives you a quest to collect canonballs. I ended up at the 2nd Fell canon you needed for the next part of the quest chain. So no repops because of running to the tunnel.

Go south of Toshley's Station to 61,72 - kill any Crystal Flayer in your way - and then walk out onto one of the big thorns until you get to 63,71 be careful, don't fall.
Click on the flare in your bag and wait for the druid to fly to you, complete the quest and get the next quest from him

I was nervous about doing this as a clothie and reading some of the comments, but I was able to kill her pretty quickly as a shadow priest, just feared twice and brought my pet out

i have completed the quest at 63,58. After using the flare the Evergrove Druid came along and gave me an another quest.

Make sure you use the flare on level ground. I tried it on the side of a hill once and the druid flew down but couldn't land and so I had to wait until the cooldown was over to summon another one.

Enter in the cave at 54.62. When you arrived at other side of cave, can use the firework.

If you have your flying mount or druid flight form you can land on the jutting spikes of stone above Deaths Door and use the flare.

If you were stupid like I was, you can go to around 67,70 and notice that you are above the cave and jump down the spikes (there's an opening around there) and be careful jumping down, you can use the flare above the cave and the druid will fly straight to you.

Good way to avoid the fighting in the cave (unfortunately I wanted to kill them for the exp, but oh well)

head over to 66.4, 67.2 and launch the flare. i didn't even have to fall into the bottom to do this quest.

This quest has changed dramatically since the 3.0 patch. I was doing it today, finishing up Outlands Loremaster achievement quests, and noticed a big difference.

While controlling the cannon, you now have full control over your character. That makes it MUCH easier to tag the spawning adds and keep them off of the cannon. It still takes some time, but it's much easier to do.

Just a note to priests looking to solo this quest - stand in front of the cannon, put up Power Word: Shield and smack the imps as they run by. They'll explode, but your shield will absorb it. Should last you long enough to get in 7 hits on the gates.

I'm 99.5% sure this is a refernce to the old saying...

"So'n'so is at Death's Door!"

Meaning, that "So'n'so" is about to die or in a state where they might die.

You can fire your flare pretty much anywhere in Death's Door, so I'm not sure what all the hubub is about. Just fire it where you are away from enemies, so you have a chance to talk. The cave near the south is the best spot I think since it is relatively enemy free.

One thing to note, especially as a hunter, is that the canon takes the place of your pet. In other words, your ever-loving built-in tank goes away. The good news is that you can one-shot most of the adds, such as the imps that come out, but the core hounds are fairly tough, and while you are working on killing the hounds, the imps keep coming. Your biggest challenge here then becomes the constant focus drain, which leaves you depleted. Ugh. Also be aware that if you take too long, the enemies respawn (you *did* clear the area before hand, right?) so don't take too long.

One more thing. If you are using bartender, (or even if not) bear in mind that the canon controls are going to show up in the PET BAR, not the main bar as usual. So if you are pressing the 1 and 2 keys hoping to do something with the canon, you will be disappointed.

Good luck! I am trying to solo this, but having a buddy or two along would certainly make this cake.

IF YOU ARE MOUNTED- Simply land anywhere seemingly safe in the Death door region, (I landed at 65.6/67.3 where there was a zone free of attackers) and use the flair. Where i landed i was in sight of guards but sat for sec to make sure it would not attract them then used flair np and simply flew up and away safely after druid encounter. Other directions may be helpful if you are on foot or ground mount but with flight capability easiest is quickest and safe from aggro.

Death's Door

Use the Druid Signal at Death's Door to call down and speak with an Evergrove Druid.

Description

Now there is an even greater threat from the Burning Legion. To the south is a portal known as Death's Door, which opens upon the horrific world where the Legion breeds its deadly hounds.

To get there, exit Evergrove by heading east up the ramp. Follow the path south, through the Bladed Gulch, Razaan's Landing, Razor Ridge and the Scalewing Shelf. Then, take the ramp down into the Vekhaar Stand and enter Death's Door through the tunnel, south of Mok'Nathal.

Once there, use this druid signal.
