IO means nothing in pugs. I don't bother with anything past 15+s because I don't feel like dealing with 3k egolords that do worse than my 1200 score friends.
IO in certain weeks with certain affixes is just bull^&*!. You can join a group and it is bursting week. Guess what? You try not to kill EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME, so you literally stop attacking. ( DPS loss there) but the rest of the group just kills all mobs at the same time. Get 6 stacks. Group wipe. ( That is another IO 'death' recorded for you and now you lost DPS points for nothing ). And on an on. In a dungeon setting, personal scores are VERY unreliable.
I feel like its a symptom of what is wrong with WoW. The uninclusiveness of so much content. Which will lead to much more of the game being solo focused. Which I personally dont mind, and some others wont as well. But i think stuff like raider io widens the gap for anyone wanting to try new types of content
I want a youtuber like brutalstatic or maybe even the person who wrote this. to start a character from scratch with no guild (cant ask for help from their current guild or friends, must start fresh) and no IO score and see just how hard it is to start mythic plus. Brutallstatic made the same points. But again these people were on mythic plus a long time ago. They have no idea how exactly hard it is right now to get into a mythic plus with a low raider IO score. I love brutallstatic but i feel like they should at least be in our shoes rather than just saying how to just start and pug and such now rather than when they started when expansion started. Yea it was probably easier than it is now but they are going off what they did at the start. Not how hard it is to start now.its toxic to just say start your own key (no one will join because your too low), play a different class thats flavor of the month (then i wont have fun because i want to play the class i like not what is based on flavor of the month), ask your guild/friends for help is the only thing that actually is helpful and thats if its a nice causal guild and not a hard core mythic plus guild who will still not invite you because of your raider IO score. So the only way to get better is to buy with gold carries. And thats not fun either. I have been playing since WOD. i know mechanics and say im a decent player not a hardcore player. Its hard to get anyone to join you unless your a hardcore player with a high raider IO score. I havent played dungeons in a while and wanted to start to get the mount. No one will join my group not even a plus 5, no one invites me when i do lfg even if i ask to join a plus 3, only thing is guildmates who are casual and friendly and willing to help. SO I say to all you "ELITE" players, you should start helping newer people trying to get in rather than just dismissing them all the time, especially for lower keys. I feel like anything above 15 i can understand being more picky. But most everyone outgeared everything below that, so why not help us and show us tips and tricks in the dungeon so we can learn and get better and invite players trying to join mythic plus groups? We can't learn if no one will even take a chance on us, even if its a mythic plus 2 key we still get declined because of low raider IO scores.thats the real guide, for other players to actually help us rather than to tell us what we can do. Because you arent in our position its much harder even with your "tips". It should be Eliteist should stop being so elite and start helping other players. Thats what makes a good NON-TOXIC community, helping others! Not "just go do it yourself" and "get good". That is what is toxic to us! TLDRThe problem is even if we wanted to learn and start mythic plus we can't because we get declined form even a simple plus 2 key because we don't have a good raider IO score. THAT IS THE PROBLEM. Not "oh you guys are lazy and want to get carried". Start your own key ok, we try and no one joins because we are a low raider IO score. Its a catch 22. We rely on other members of the community helping us like our guild mates. Hello! you "ELITES" are part of the WoW community too, you can help us out as well instead of thinking about yourself! Also maybe something more useful like linking youtubers who run mythic keys and give tips on the dungeon (i know Brutallstatic does this) or maybe guides onto doing dungeons and certain affixes would help more than what this person listed off in the so called "guide".
People who have issues with getting declined need to go make a +15 group with a tank and/or healer and just watch the dps flow into que. Of course your slightly lower ilvl gets declined, of course your lower io gets declined, I have literally my choice of class/spec all with 475+ ilvl 2k+ score signed up within 10min. Often times its not even that the group leader thinks your too low of score/ilvl to do the content its just that there's 20 people with a better resume already in que. My suggestion? whisper the group leader and ask them nicely, often times that makes you stand out and gives you a better chance at an invite, at least it works on me.
In this is why I don't do anything, but what I want to do.Stuff like this ruins games for the mass majority. And although near impossible, I wish Blizz would ban stuff like this.
It's interesting to read lots of salty comments here from people who, either just want a free ride in higher keys but don't get invited or, just don't want to actually push their own keys. It ALSO shows they most likely have zero idea about most of the mechanics and will probably fail at those mechanics hence depleting someone else's key while claiming "lag" for all of their failures. Here's a suggestion to find out how difficult can it be to fill up a group for 20+ keys in LFG. Try to list a +14/15 key in LFG during peak time (even if you don't actually have the key) and see HOW MANY people sign up. Lets say you list for Shrine this week (tyrannical bosses). Would you REALLY take a balance druid, a warlock and a shadow priest for DPS? If your answer is yes then your chance of failing at Council boss due to interrupts is about 95%. And then there's last boss too where you need to interrupt 2 adds during phase switch. All the "complainers" here just don't want to admit or understand that every single group listed in LFG for M+ keys is EARNED by someone. Keys don't magically appear at higher level without someone actually PUSHING it.Another way to look at it as a raider, since it looks like a LOT of comments are from raiders who just "think" since they have cleared heroic or even few mythic raid bosses, they have "earned" the right to jump into a +15 key to "faceroll". Would you take any player without proper gear and zero experience if you are progressing in to mythic or even heroic raid bosses? Chances are you will either outright reject them or do one of those "trial" runs on normal mode to see how they are. Same way, you should start from Mythic ZERO and learn trash/boss mechanics, skips, routes, pulls with CDs etc.. etc.. and most importantly AFFIXES.And once again, no one is STOPPING you to start your OWN keys and see how "well" it goes for YOU to fill up groups and push keys. Then come back and tell us your stories of all the rage quitters after first wipe or if run was too slow and someone thought you not gonna time it, they just leave.DON'T TAKE A RIDE ONTO SOMEONE ELSE'S HARD WORK, RUN YOUR OWN KEYS AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RAIDER.IO SCORE.The End.
Quite frankly, it's just too much work for me.I work every day 9 hours. I just don't have the time or patience for the same mentality in a game as I need for a job.
Absolutely ignorant system. I don't waste my time raiding in BFA because I can get high end range gear that puts out almost as much mythic raider damage just from a few heroic bosses and M+. I loved m+ regardless but when people don't invite me to m+ because my .io is 5/12 heroic yet im 1500 and cant do 15s. what's the #$%^ing problem here? I push my char more than most casuals probably do (constantly simming trying to do all i can with this bs corruption system to get stacked severe/exp) I don't even step in that week if there's some *!@# that causes pugs to have to use their brain because the affixes are SO FUN!...There's more than just a really casual player doing LFR and +5's and calling it a day, and an absolute M+ dweeb who does nothing but, has his cutting edge, multiboxes 4 accounts and spitshines activision's shoes no matter the decision. There's also just some people out there who want to do decent content, but not at the expense of all these other hoops I gotta leap through that aren't even fun. I just wanted to M+, but this dumbass addon will always exist in some form it just gets worse over time and people call it "your resume"? Dude....this is a game I come home from work to play, even when I was a kid I'd come home from school not thinking it was more WORK. Get that disgusting behavior out of the game. Filling a guild app on a webpage in 2008 wasn't this much of a headache. That's super bold to even compare gear score to this, it's a whole new beast that ruins the game. There's just too many people with blinders on who will accept the next plate full of activisions excrement. "well if you get declined a lot why not start your own?" -- Because I'm dps and it's BFA if you don't understand that you've been playing with the same people for a long time. Tanks are so rare that you almost crack under pressure to take lower io tanks or just waste hours of your day. You can't chalk everything up to "just talk more, just do what i do, just do X" WoW is not about how we all need to play a game a certain way, or at least that used to be the case. "why don't you swap roles/class?" -- because the game can't provide an experience worthy enough on the class I like and spent hundreds of hours setting up for this expansion? is this 2004 classic wow? Healing/tanking are just too annoying this expansion or I would plain and simple. I got KSM as a healer in legion and loved every second of it. This is all just a big winded opinion, but it still blows my mind we have to make articles on how to improve your .io and not "How can we improve .Io or create the next iteration?"
The IO add-on and website include information re: the number of runs a given character has completed in a given key bracket, as well as indicators as to how well a main character on a given IO account has performed. You could in theory pay to be carried to a high IO, but few players who understand the system (and based their invites on it) are going to place great stock in a 3K IO that has a grand total of twelve timed runs, and no IO on another character.
Try to get high M+ scores as a new player without friends, guild. And try it as a balance druid, shadowpriest, warlock ;p Thats a challange for anyone whom wants to test this, hehe.
"Re-roll to a better class."Really? This is your tip? This article screams elitism. Sorry WoWhead, this article is one of your worst. This is the kind of crap making this game not fun for a ton of people.
