I was fishing at the Shado-pan Monastery as Ben of the Booming Voice suggested to be the hotspot of the day. Autopilot was engaged for about 30 minutes, when all of a sudden, this giant behemoth came rising out of a larger Tiger Gourami pool.

Since I'm not the greedy type, I formed a small raid group of 10, and downed him in about 30 sec. He drops 20 Tiger Gourami and Nat's Fishing Journal, which everyone in the party was able to loot.

Just ran across Krakkanon at the Stormstout Brewery in Valley of the Four Winds (see screenshot).

Before he spawned, there was a server reset. As soon as I logged back in after the reset, there was a very large fishing pool of Emperor Salmon, actually named "Large Pool of Brew Frenzied Emperor Salmon" or something along those lines. I fished in that one pool, which is about the size of 8 regular fishing pools put together. I pulled almost 95 catches from the large pool, when all of a sudden, Krakkanon spawned and attacked me.

Due to the server reset and the fact that I was the only one fishing in the pool, it appears possible that the Krakkanon spawns after a certain number of fishing catches in the large pool, or possible that each cast has a small chance to spawn him.

I was able to get away, though I did get hit with frost damage from 2 different attacks of his: "Swishhhh" and "Shpshhh" as they appeared in my combat log, which were in addition to his Melee attack which does Physical damage. One was a wave attack that popped me up into the air.

As the previous poster advised, it is recommended to try to find a small group of allies to take him down. I fortunately found a small group and we killed him in about 2 minutes with a tank, healer, and 2 dps, all level 90's. He dropped 20 Emperor Salmon for each of us, and that was all. A bit disappointing, other than to have him removed once again from the fishing area. Good luck!

He came out of one of the large Reef Octopus pools in Sri-La Village during fish of the day. I was fishing on a lvl 89 healer and managed to engage him. It took a LONG time to solo-kill him (I think I blood lusted 3 times) and all he dropped was 20 Reef Octopus. So not really worth my time.

It seems that he would kill my elementals really fast so I think he has some damage in melee range, whereas the damage was minimal at ranged where I was at. According to recount I was doing 2k hps during the encounter and an impressive 10.5k dps. lol

Edit: So obviously I don't engage this guy when he comes out the big fishing pool, I just walk away now. If you are on your own it's not worth it to try fight him for a 20 stack of fish. I had just snuck away from him and started fishing a normal pool when a 90 Windwalker engaged him. I had EASILY caught those 20 fish when he had Krakkaon at 50% hp. See my point? lol Edit #2: Oh dear. Whilst I was writing first edit the guy actually died and ran back and is now trying again. He's Alliance, I can't talk to him..

I found him on The Jade Forest in Sri-la village fishing "large reef octopus swarm" after Ben of the Booming Voice suggested to be the hotspot of the day

Easy soloable with a Rogue just with Shuriken Toss and from the shore

Drop 20 Reef Octopus and 1 Mimic Octopus

Found this guy hanging out in the lake by the Shrine. He gave me Nat's Fishing Journal and Jewel Danio x20. Was incredibly easy to solo as a guardian druid - I took literally no damage at all. Was eventually joined by a warlock and a paladin for quick takedown.

Currently Have soloed this guy twice. He is fished up from "Large... Pool" The dots mean whatever the fish of the day is. There is no more then one large pool up at any given time and so far I have caught 60+fish in the large pool before Krakkanon came out. He Is an easy fight for anyone to solo since he doesn't do too much damage; the fight will just be long. He drops 20xfish of the day and either Nat's Journal or one of Nat's rare fish for reputation. He grants loot to all members of the same faction that tapped him just like all the other 5.2.0 rare spawns.

Solo'ed him as a ilvl491 hunter at the Shado-pan Monastery. Not an extremely difficult fight, but be prepared to be hitting buttons for 7 or more minutes. It doesnt deal a huge amount of damage to neither you nor your pet, but it is still a good idea to spam Mend Pet.

Dropped the journal, an uncommon fish and 20 Tiger Gourami.

Krakkanon also came out of a Large Tangled Mantis Shrimp Cluster in dread wastes at Gokk'loki Shallows. The Large Tagled Shirmp Cluster is at 26.4 / 16.2 that he came out of.

The Krakkanon comes out of the large Fish Of The Day pools. Talk to Ben of the Booming Voice outside of Halfhill to find out where that day's Fish Of The Day is spawning. If you don't see a large pool at the time of your arrive, hang around, they can take up to 45 minutes to spawn.

The Krakkanon is very easily soloable and has about 20 million HP. You may need a healer though, just due to how long it takes to fight him. He isn't aggressive and is only aggro'd when attacked. He can't be kited out of the water, he must be fought in the water he was spawned in.

He always drops a stack of the fish found in the water he was summoned in. Beyond that, he can drop a Nat's Fishing Journal or one of the daily quest special fish that you gift to Nat to gain his friendship.

Downed him a couple days ago solo. He dropped not one, but two Flying Tiger Gourami, which are unique. I was not able to fly to Nat Pagle and back before his body despawned.

A GM claimed that he could not restore the missing fish unless I had looted one, deleted it, then looted the second one. He said he could only see items that were actually looted off a body and could not see the items that were not looted. Be warned.

Kind of a waste, only dropped a daily fish that I already had 1 of and that I'd tossed 3 of while fishing him up.

They might need to rethink the unique tag on those. Throwing too many of them away now.

I caught about 90 fish from the Large Pool of Tiger Gourami Slush. The pool despawned but Krakkanon did NOT spawn.

Be aware that since the Fish of the Day changes daily, if you're fighting Krakkanon when your server's dailies reset he WILL despawn with all of the pools and NPCs.

To find out where the daily fishing hole is and where Krakkanon can be pulled up from a pool, talk to Ben of the Booming Voice at the stream by Halfhill in Valley of the Four Winds.

On the last cast (63rd) Krakkanon erupted from the pool and the pool despawned. He had 19.7 million health and does pretty constant damage. A couple things to note:

figure out what direction he does his Gurrggggle and fight him from the opposite side. This direction never seems to change
he has a splash animation when he does Shpshhh then a small water pool forms under you and you have 2.5 seconds to move about 8 yards out of the aoe
I tried inviting a non-fisher into party to help heal me and they were phased(could not see Krakkanon or I)
you'll need to keep yourself healed up because you're in for the long-haul. It took almost 4 minutes with me doing 58k dps
Krakkonon has an enormous hitbox and doesn't move from his spawn point (seemingly)

Upon beating Krakkanon he dropped:

20 x Tiger Gourami
1 x Flying Tiger Gourami (which I couldn't loot because I still had the one from pools)

So I wasted an FTG because I didn't hand in my previous one before continuing to fish up this monster, try not to do the same. Took me three deaths to down him so just be patient and review your talents and glyphs if you don't get him the first time (cookies, pots, flasks are a help too so arrive prepared). For example I had to use Leeching poison and keep Feint and Recuperate up 90% of the time to down him on my rogue (I hate leeching poison, talented Feint is OP-as-hell).

As there doesn't seem to be a guide for the new fishing events yet, here's a link to Perculia's news post about it from 5.2 PTR fish-of-the-day event.

edit: I've seen him spawn twice since this morning and 3 hour respawn on the pool seems spot-on. You can also team up with other anglers to fight him and everyone will get whatever drops exactly like the rares on Isle of Thunder.

Killed Krakkanon twice in Valley of Eternal Blossoms yesterday and it took about 2 or 3 hours to his large pool to spawn again. Krakkanon dropped a stack of fish (emperor salmon) and Nat´s Fishing journal on both kills.
(It took 85 fish to catch before Krakkanon came out of the pool second time; not sure how many fish caught first time he spawned but it could be an equal number ´cause I spent there about half an hour.)

Today I caught him in Large Pool of Crowded Redbelly Mandarin in Townlong Steppes. Soloed him with lv90 prot warr with some healing (bandages, warrior heal, heals from Herbalism skill). He appeared after 38 fish caught (but not sure if the pool was fresh or if some other player been there before me). Also caught Nat´s uncommon daily fish (Flying Tiger Gourami) on second attempt and few minutes later the Sea Turtle mount (FINALLY!) :)

Took about 3 hours to large pool to respawn again.

The Krakkanon is very easily soloable and has about 20 million HP. You may need a healer though, just due to how long it takes to fight him. He isn't aggressive and is only aggro'd when attacked. He can't be kited out of the water, he must be fought in the water he was spawned in.

As melee you also really DON´T wanna fighting him standing on the ground because of damage you take every time you land on the ground after he pop you up in the air (and if you aren´t fast enough to avoid it:)) ... :P

... But I still wonder how could THIS BIG monster live in such a shallow waters ... o.O

Mange to fight him/it over at Townlong and had to get extra help. but thanks to this. Not only i got the journal but I mange to maxed out my fishing. (which ironically is what I was trying to do)

I've seen a few posts relating drops and looked at the table, the news article portion that discussed the changes to Fishing in 5.2 said Krakkanon drops 20 of the fish depending on the zone and a chance at the BoA fishing book. Though, when I killed him in Sri La Village he dropped about 17 of the Reef Octopus and a Mimic Octopus. I thought the Mimic Octopus was a plus, even though I already caught one before the kill, and didn't know that he would drop it. I wanted to post my find in hopes of not only informing others but getting some information myself. My first thought was since I killed him where there were Reef Octopus, he was guaranteed to drop the Mimic Octopus, that would mean that in his other zones he drops the special fish accordingly? This is a theory and I may just have gotten lucky with RNG, but has anyone else seen him drop the special fish in different zones, or even a special fish that does not relate to the schools amassed around him? (Ex. A Mimic Octopus off of Krakkanon's spawn in a mass of Emperor Salmon)

PLEASE NOTE.......

If you're fishing him in Sri-la village like I was - make sure you don't have any Mimic Octopus in your bags as that's what he's most likely to drop for you in that area.

I caught one and then spawned Krakkanon on the very next cast.

Mimic Octopus is unique which means you can only hold one at a time.

Found this guy by accident at inkgill mere whilst fishing in a large spinefish school and killed him with 4 chars and only one was a healer (me) and it took ages to kill with no deaths :)

2 days ago i logged on to my lvl 90 blood DK after a 2 months break from the game. I flew through the vale of eternal blossoms and noticed a very large pool of jewel danio. I tried fishing in it and Krakkanon spawned on the first cast, was really surprised there. Managed to solo him, but that took me a while though. The drop was 20x jewel danio

My Epic Fight of The Day
Well I went to the fish hot spot to try and level my warlocks fishing at some of the pools of fish so what happen was I spoted this large pool of water after around 40 stacks of fishs this massive sea monster with 20,000k health pop up & my rare finder went off & I just started killing the thing within 4min it died & it gave me a stack of 20 of the fish the pool gave me so I think I basicly got it's lunch.

I took him down on my Main which is a level 90 Demonlogy Warlock with 486 ILevel
I got 4 parts of the Sha Skin set so building up Demonic Fury & letting it all out at 1.30sec due to dark soul cooldown & each time I went into my Demon Form I took down it's health by 30% within 4min of just that it died was so awesome.

He is easy to kill if you're a hunter you just taunt him with your pet and then attack him and heal your pet with mend pet and it will take something like 8 min.

Just wanted to add my comments to this. A warrior with Second Wind set will not die against this guy and is easily soloable, provided they are high enough level with even adequate gear (level 90 equals cakewalk, level 88... should be doable, below that... try at own risk). His hits don't do nearly enough damage to a level 90 to even drop your hp below 100K before second wind kicks in and shoots your life back up.

It took me about 20 minutes (I used 2 Elixar of water walking) and I cast my line 145ish times I have 144 fish/crates... that was 100% casting in the large pool. On the last cast the pool despawned and 5 seconds later he popped up roaring, so I attacked him and did all my song and dance and he was to strong for me alone. (I'm a squishie). I ended up calling some guildies over to help. He gave us all 20 fish, the quest for the day with the anglers and some gray items...

His pool will despawn about 10 seconds before he appears, don't be fooled and run away.
No special gear is required, I fished him up with the default pole.

Fished this guy up at Sri La in Jade Forest after about 40 casts in the big pool. Soloed him easily as an Afflock with VW tank - takes no special strategy, just a little time.
Was a bit disappointed to only get a stack of fish and a Mimic Octopus for soloing a 19M mob. Couldn't even loot the rare fish as I had just fished one of these up just moments before.

I fished him up tonight behind Stormstout Brewery.

Like several other comments mentioned, you can't loot a quest fish if you already have one in your bag. I had fished up Flying Tiger Gourami in my 90+ casts to get the guy to appear.

Since I was closish to Nat Pagle:
I started the quest for the flying tiger gourami in my bag
Flew over turned it in.

And fast as my little mount could take me I flew back and was able to still loot - I got the second Flying Tiger Gourami of the experience that way.

My other loot was just a bunch more fish. Sigh.

Hardly worth the fight. And it was a LONG fight (a 90 fire mage and my 90 well-equipped hunter).

Just be careful when fishing that really big pool. It looks like an easy way to get a lot of fish .. until that big sucker pops up right in the middle without warning!

After killing this guy once or twice, I did some research on various sites. From what I've seen he's very worth killing, especially if multiple people get in on it.

As mentioned in other comments, he can be found at any of the daily fishing spots given to you by Ben of the Booming Voice.

Krakkanon is fished up out of larger versions of the special fishing pools crowding these daily fishing spots. The type and location break down are as follows:

Binan Village Coast (Kun-Lai Summit): Large Pool of Sha-Touched Spinefish
Enchanted Woods of the Lost (The Jade Forest): Large Pool of Glowing Jade Lungfish
Fields of Niuzao (Townlong Steppes): Large Pool of Crowded Redbelly Mandarin
Gokk'lok Shallows (Dread Wastes): Large Tangled Mantis Shrimp Cluster
Krasari Falls (Krasarang Wilds): Large Swarm of Panicked Paddlefish
Mad Qao-Pao (Vale of Eternal Blossoms): Large Pool of Glimmering Jewel Danio
Master Snowdrift's Pagoda (Kun-Lai Summit): Large Pool of Tiger Gourami Slush
Sri-La Village (The Jade Forest): Large Pool of Migrated Reef Octopus
Stormstout Brewery (Valley of the Four Winds): Large Pool of Brew Frenzied Emperor Salmon

He takes a LONG time to fish up. The first two times I did it, he came up on the 70th and 120th casts (approximately). It seems he can take anywhere from 60 casts on up. On the last cast the pool will despawn as per the norm, and Krakkanon will spawn where it was.

He spawns hostile, but he either doesn't attack unless provoked or has a very small radius for a creature his size.

The fight is pretty simple, and easily soloed as long as your character has any way to heal itself. With almost 20 million health, it does take awhile, however he hits for very little and his two abilities are easily avoided. Obviously this part is no longer relevant, but I'll leave it for historical context.

Gurrggggle is a frontal cone attack in which Krakkanon spews water and fish at the targetted area. It continuously knocks back anybody in the cone. However once he starts casting it he doesn't move, so just get out of the way.
Shpshhh targets a party member at random and places a geyser at their feet that sprays upward after a second or so, throwing anyone caught in it fairly high in the air.

Now that you've killed him, he will drop very specific items, based on where you fished him up:

20x whatever fish is crowding the area
1x Spinefish Alpha, Mimic Octopus, or Flying Tiger Gourami (whichever is appropriate for the area)
and potentially 1x Nat's Fishing Journal

It seems at some point he got other mats added to his loot tables, so he can occasionally drop entire stacks of normal Pandaria herbs, ore, or meat, and more rarely one or a couple rarer herbs, ore, or meat.

The best part is these items are lootable by each and every person that helped kill him (~~can't confirm that both factions can loot him however~~ Confirmed both factions can loot him as long as they get credit! Thanks skevnet!). My guild is currently forming plans to raid him every time he's at Mad Qao-Pao so we can get plenty of fish for banquets.

I solo'd him easily as a lvl 90 hunter, MM spec with Spirit Bond talent. My direhorn tanked him really well, and the small ammount of fall damage that i took from the gyser ability was healed pretty quick with the spirit bond heal. just dont stand in the path of his gurggle attack and make sure you don't pull agro off the pet. Took about 10min for the fight.

He dropped the fishing book and a stack of Jade Lungfish (I caught him from jade lungfish teeming pool)

Fished him from a big pool of sha-touched spinefish.

I stayed 40 yd. away to cast my spells, he didn't do anything but Gurrrggggle! which was very easy to avoid.

Got spinefish alpha and a stack of spinefish as loot.

Be sure to pick up the Raining Blood, a Klaxxi Enhancement, when Krakkanon is in the Dread Wastes/Townlong Steppes area. It ended up doing a quarter of my damage

Today, I only needed five more points in order for my fishing skill to be 600 and maxed.

But before I went out to my usual area to fish, Grizzly Hills (Most of you other fishing fanatics should know why ~cough~ Sea Turtle ~cough~), I decided to stop by the Golden Lotus vendor to see what else I needed off him. What I found in the water surrounding him left me in complete shock. . .

Jewel Danio. EVERYWHERE! The entire lake was covered in pools of Jewel Danio. But what really struck my attention was the large pool in the center.

Now, before this, I was completely oblivious to the rare-elite lurking below. In my infinite wisdom, I just assumed the large pool was rare and had a greater chance of dropping my damn turtle. Cast after cast, for a time span of nearly an hour, I began to question the existence of the pool. It simply would not despawn!

And then. . . I shat bricks.

On my final cast, I reeled in this behemoth. It wasn't on my NPCScan, and I hadn't even heard of Krakkanon. I summoned my corehound in its tenacity set up and engaged, starting with my Stampede and Ancient Hysteria. Surprisingly enough, this monster doesn't hit that hard, but after beating up on it with a sustained 73kDPS, it's health was barely dropping. After five minutes, my pet died and I feigned death. I asked for help in general chat, but no one replied. I stuck around, hoping for an answer that would never come. Instead, a Brewmaster Monk walked up and was about to pull, but I quickly tagged. As selfish as it sounds, I fished it up and I was going to get its loot. It's health was dropping a little faster than before, but it still wasn't enough. And then, a Balance Druid joined in, followed by a Retribution Paladin and another Beast Mastery Hunter. We killed Krakkanon within seven minutes.

Much to my surprise, even though I initiated the fight, everyone got to loot. It dropped a stack of Jewel Danio, one of the fish for the Angler dailies, and the journal that gives you +50 Fishing Skill (which I couldn't use, but I stored it away for one of my alts).

So, from this, I can confirm that you don't need to be in a party to loot it, no matter who pulls. Whether it's a faction tag, I cannot say.

At 1:50 P.M. on Zuluhed, the Horde killed this mob at (71.2, 36.7) in the Vale.

I had just dinged 90 and was minding my own business trying to fish for the new rare pets when up pops this fella, for lolz I thought I would try and solo him and using my self preservation rotation of seal of insight, sacred shield, divine protection and word of glory every 5 holy power, down he slowly went and up I stayed, with my newly dinged low gear I managed a rip snorting 18.5k dps, some 15 mins later imagine my joy when he dropped 20 x Tiger Gourami and a Flying Tiger Gourami (which I already had) and not a hint of any kind of achievement.

Exactly what is the point of him other than to sit there over your fishing pool, whale shark I take it all back... ;)

If you're a ranged, go at the max range and you won't get touched at all by his attacks.

If you happen to kill him and he drops one of the 3 quest items and you already have it in your bags simply go hand the quest back to Nat Pagle if you haven't already and go back to loot the other one , as far as i have seen he takes some time to despawn :)

Was fishing up Glowing Jade Lungfish in Sri-La Village when he popped up about 80 casts in from Large pool. Never heard of him, surprised the ^&** out of me but attacked him anyhow. Easy fight for a recently dinged 90 BM hunter. Just threw my Devilsaur on him. Occasional pet heals. He threw me up numerous times but damage is minimal. After every 4-5 of these Geysers I would just pop a bandage and keep attacking. Low DPS (Still have a lot of quest greens) so he is easily soloable by anyone. Dissapointed though as only dropped 20 Jade Fish and Flying Tiger Gourami which was already in bag from fishing here. Took me awhile to knock him down though I'd say 10-15 minutes. Also did not even have fishing pole equipped! ( had Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole i bag) and just hit 375 fishing so it does'nt seem as if you need any special fishing skill.

I fished him up today in the daily fishing area in Binan Village. The large pool of sha-touched spinefish spawned in front of me as I was just fishing in the regular pools of sha-touched spinefish. I must have casted about 50-80 times before he appeared. My pet tanked the whole time for the most part and since I have a spirit beast I got heals from my pet, and I would throw my pet occasional heals. At the end of the fight a level 88 came over to help out, so I invited him to a group, and he did receive the quest item - Nat's Fishing Journal. I too received it, but my fishing level is already at a 600 on this guy, so I guess I'll send it to another toon. Of course I also received 20 spinefish. I was surprised there was no achievement or anything.

FIshed 55 casts from a large pool before he spawned. Solo'd as a shadow priest since no one else was in the area to help. Wasn't difficult at all. He only dropped a stack of 20 fish for me. Where's our achievement for this guy? :)

Killed Krakkanon today in the Krasarang Wilds. Someone had obviously fished it up and fled because I just flew over and spotted this massive.... thing. Naturally, being a fury warrior, I wanted to slaughter it. I'd gotten it to 50% health before I D/C'd and had to start again, so I switched to Prot and Defensive stanced my way to victory. After a solid 11 minute fight of me standing on a raft, him firing his spray in some other random direction and me having to go AFK to do something quickly, I killed him. Pretty easy with Second Wind and my 488 iLvl.

He dropped a Nat's Fishing Journal and 20 Krasarang Paddlefish when he finally kicked the bucket.

Moral of the story, kids, is to roll a warrior.

Never in my WoW experience have I had such mixed emotions!
I'm searching for Redbelly Mandarin and having looked far & wide I come across the pool in the Fields of Nizuao which is *teeming* with 'Crowded Pools of Redbelly Mandarin'! WOAH! I feel like I have won the WoW jackpot and start fishing up the pools.
Then, I find an extra large pool of the fishies which refuses to despawn, no matter how much I fish it! Double win.
So, I'm up to my 80-90th catch of the day, when out of nowhere this MASSIVE level 90 elite appears! Literally jumped out of my seat! Naturally, I panic, but then realise he's not attacking or moving from the pool space. He has about 19million health (I have 300k) but I had a moment of madness and attack, expecting to die very quickly...
Turns out, he's a pussy cat. Seemed to have 3 attacks, one where he throws dolphins at you (step out of the way, no problem), an annoying one where he knocks you in the air (for 18,000ish) and then you hit the floor (for another 18k), and his standard which is to squirt water for 16-18k. As a frost mage, I just stood firing everything I had at him for literally about 8mins, chipping away at him, and keeping protected with Ice Barrier, and healing with Glyphed Evocation, and Heavy Windwool Bandages when I needed to. He doesn't move, so it's pretty easy to dodge his attacks!
Finally he went down, and dropped a stack of 20 Redbelly Mandarin, which was a bit of anti-climax to be honest!

So we found him just hanging out in Fields of Nizuao, we assume the gnome skeleton nearby told a story of a very unfortunate little fisherman...
As a priest and a paladin, we had no issue downing him together, taking 3 minutes or so?

Mr Paladin reports the hardest hit, which was a crit, was about 48k, average hits being around 20-30k. As a disc priest i didn't really even have to heal. I was happily dpsing away and my pet pally stayed at full health.

As for drops, we both got a stack of Redbelly Mandarin and Flying Tiger Gourami + a very very appreciated Nat's Fishing Journal

I actually didn't know the deal with this guy, how you fished him up from the "fish of the day" large pool in whatever zone it happens to be in, and I just happened to be in Townlong Steppes and came across the little lake on the first island next to the battle pet trainer and saw so many schools of Redbelly Mandarin it just looked like one giant blob of yellow on my minimap. The large swirling pool in the middle of the pond caught my attention so I popped a water walking potion and went out and fished it, and lo and behold on my third cast up popped what appeared to be The Lurker Below, lol, this massive beast, surprising the hell out of me!

When I saw it was a rare spawn, I was all about killing it. Then I saw it's health, and I was alone and had no friends or guildies online and was thinking this is never gonna work. Turns out, it was honestly a piece of cake as a MM hunter in low level epics, like 480 avg. Just took a long time, but he never even got my pet below 90% hp and rarely hit me. So don't be scared off by his size or health pool, he's very easily soloable I think.

Of course, for a fight that took forever on a rare, something more than 20 fish as a drop would have been nice, complete crap reward. An achievement, something would be nice. So while it's easy, it's not even really worth it unless you really want a Fishing Journal, just under 50% drop rate on that so you might get it. I was disappointed though, that's for sure.

Oh, and something weird happened as well...halfway during the fight, I suddenly saw some elite flying creature hovering above him, and he had about 75% hp, making it look like he had taken damage from the Krakkanon, like he was helping me fight him? Krakkanon never targeted him, and I never got a good look at what it actually was, and didn't see it in my combat log, either. I first assumed it was something he spawned that was attacking my pet, and he very well may have been, but he couldn't have done much damage if he was hostile to me and not the Krakkanon. It was involved in the fight somehow and when Krakkanon died it wasn't there any more, I have no idea what it was or what it was doing. Strange...

So today I'm minding my own business, lassoing yaks for Pick a Yak when I spy this MASSIVE pool of fish. I innocently start fishing up the Redbelly Mandarin while looking into why I'm getting dozens of fish. Luckily, I found out about Krakkanon before I finally fished him up so I was a little more prepared.

For Marksmanship Hunters:
Send your pet in there (hopefully you've already set it up as a tank) and hang back. Unfortunately, the range for Mend Pet is not as far as it is for Aimed Shot and the like; you'll have to move up into Krakkanon's strike range to keep your pet healed. I ended up moving back and forth along the edge of my range, spamming heal pet between shots. Really only the Gurrggggle can reach you at that point and even that doesn't do too much damage. The key was to run to the side (that was generally fastest and safest) as soon as you see the water bubbling up under your feet. If you do get hit by it, Chimaera Shot is you best friend. Between Mend Pet and Chimera Shot you should be set, other than the fact that the battle will take about 10 minutes solo.

All in all I fished up:
82 Redbelly Mandarin
4 Sealed Crate
1 Flying Tiger Gourami

And I looted:
20 Redbelly Mandarin
Nat's Fishing Journal

This is how you know Krakkanon is going to show up within the next 5 minutes to 2 hours -- if you are fishing the 'fish of the day', there are tons of spawns. Note that each spawn despawns after about 3 - 10 catches. There are dozens of spawns, but if you fish one spawn, it will eventually despawn. Another one will immediately pop up not in the exact place, but a couple of feet from it. So you pretty much never have to move around, just land your catches in the middle of the spawns and you will catch whatever the fish of the day is, or you will fish up one of Nat Pagle's three daily rare quests, or you will fish up (a lot) of unopened boxes.

Except for one spawn pool.

There is one spawn pool that is massive, you get in the middle of it (on your awesome Angler's Fishing Raft) and it's so big that you can't even cast outside of it, and it doesn't despawn. So you think there is a glitch or something awesome that lets you just catch and reel in 50, 80, 240 fish (yeah I got 240 once from one giant pool). And it doesn't despawn! Blizzard you are so cool! Um, wait. All of a sudden this big-ass ugly monster jumps up and you almost have a heart attack.

He's easy to kill if you avoid his aoe, even though it takes a few minutes to beat him down. I am dps melee and it's not too hard for me to swim and slash and avoid.

And he drops, some common fish. Once I got a golden carp from him!

But it's the giant pool beforehand, you can get a ton of the catch of the day. Today was shrimp, which is great because I need to always have a supply of Black Pepper Ribs and Shrimp which gives a 300 strength buff.

And he still made me jump when he popped up.

And he dropped a CARP.

edit to add: Why would he sit in one place long enough to catch 240 fish? Because if they are not carp, 20 = 1 Ironpaw Token. I needed the Dinner Bell thingie so I could teach Nomi how to make ramen noodles (helpful hint: skip this one). If I am feeling the need to listen to music all day while doing something mindless with my hands, I'll fire up Pandora while fishing the spawn of the day. Multitasking for the brain damaged.

If it helps anyone, he is super-easy to solo as a dps warrior.
For reference im a Fury Warrior ilvl 517 with 468k health.
So his auto attack hits me for 19k each time, Second Wind was more than enough to keep me up the whole time, and i never dropped below 10%.
You only have to be careful with the geysers, but even if you get thrown up you can always use Heroic Leap to land.

For those of you who are ranged, you can easily solo this guy without having to heal yourself once. All of the Krakkanon's abilities have less than a 35yd range, is if you stand at the 35 yd mark (I use faerie fire to measure) and just attack him, you won't take any damage from him.

Each large pool has a static spawn location. You do not need to fish other pools to get it to spawn. And the Sea Turtle can come from the large pool as well. Got mine on the 31st cast of the Large pool of brew frenzied emperor salmon.

Just to clarify, he can be looted by ANYBODY once he's down, no matter what faction or raid/party you are in.

Yesterday, there was a group of 5 Horde players taking him down (I'm Alliance) and I just ran up to him (Had waterwalking) and looted him. So yeah... Watch out next time you are fighting him.

IMO, this rare really isn't worth the trouble unless you have a reason to kill him.

I had never seen or heard of this rare (nothing like this ever spawned in my neighborhood pool when I was a kid) so I just attacked him when I saw him as I was wandering by on my POORLY geared iLevel 427 tauren blood DK. (I have two blue and no purple items. I don't do dungeons, don't PvP or do much of anything other than mine to earn gold. I just hit 90 and don't even yet have enough gold to buy flight in Panderia). AND I'm not the greatest DPS anything. LOL.

I only gave all of that background info to preface the fact that I solo'd this guy. Took me over 20 min and I know it did because I attacked with Army of the Dead and it took me so long to kill the darned thing that I was able to summon them twice more. I got some fish for my troubles. I'd have to log back in to see what they were. I guess they'll come in handy for something, but I have to say I'm rather disappointed with Blizz for NOT putting some type of money bag or gear reward on this rare. (Personally, I think Blizz revels at screwing people over, but that's besides the point here.)

If it's worth it to you to kill this guy for a fishing quest or to loot one of the items he might drop or if you just want the kill, best be able to self heal and/or get help. I found him hard to fight only in that the fight was in the water (Path of Frost doesn't work while taking dmg) and I just took him head on. I didn't avoid anything. Never used a health pot and only had a hit rating food buff on me. I did terrible DPS but I never saw anyone else there till a dwarf pally landed to loot. Never saw any other spells on him during the fight but my own. I guess I'm proud to say I solo'd him but if I could do it, most anyone else could, too. :)

So there I was going around the Vale to fish for the Red-Belly Mandaren for my cooking. As I was flying I decided to check the whole area out. With my "Fish Tracking" my jaw dropped about 10 feet when I saw about 50 pools of Glimmering Jewel Danio fish in the small area.

Not knowing anything I randomly came up with the thought "If I fish stacks of Danio out of these pools I could trade them for Ironpaw Tokens, and have a chance at the Sea Turtle!"

So like any smart fisherman I took up my pole and cast my Path of Frost to start my exciting grind of fishing the rare glimmering jewel danio.

When I started walking around I came across this odd fellow named Mad Qao-Pan. A shiny quiet fellow all cased in gold armor. Man he was pretty to look at.

But as I noticed him I turned and noticed this Large Pool of Glimmering Jewel Danio. So as curious as I was I assumed a "large pool" had a "large chance" of giving me my beloved Sea Turtle!

10 minutes passed...

As I was fishing I thought to myself "This pool isn't despawning, I am sure to get the Sea Turtle!"

Another 5 pass...

"There has to be a reason for this pool..."

Few minutes later... HOLY WHAT THE %#$@ IF THIS THING?

This giant fish thing comes out of literally nowhere and I see he is a rare spawn. Me being a blood death knight took it upon myself to solo this properly and buffed and used my Army of the Dead.

When I engaged to my surprise I was being attacked by a Horde hunter and mage. By this point I felt like this guy must be worth something if they are ganking me over him. The fight continued and I fell in battle. I hurried over from the spirit healer worried that they would take the tag but I saw I still had the tag and happily rez'd and kept attacking him but that hunter and mage would not stop keeping me down.

So after I died the second time I decided to be smart and rez in the water thinking "They cant see me down here and I still have my tag so it's all mine!" Sadly that wasn't the case I rez'd and they still killed me...

I came back but he was almost dead determined to keep my tag I waited for them to get him lower then I rez'd once again and they killed me all to quickly...

I had to think fast, he was at less then 10000k health so I hurried and took rez sickness from the spirit healer and was able to loot him! I felt like I had a victory over those two who ganked me constantly. Sadly all I got was a full stack of those beautiful Jewel Danio fish and a racing heartbeat.

After all of that was over I decided to look this guy up. Funny thing was I read you can "know where he is located daily" which surprised me. Also read the loot is shared which upsets me because I lost that feeling of victory and realized I could have just helped that Mage and Hunter without them constantly killing me.

All in all it was exciting and I plan on finding this guy more often! :)

P.S. (I still didn't get that Sea Turtle Q-Q)

I've killed him with a friend a few times now. Most recently at Sri-La Village we downed him and he spawned again only a few yards away within 5-10 minutes. I'm not sure how or why as we weren't fishing from the large pool, because it disappeared. We killed him again and the loot tables were no different.

May be a bug.

It's between 80-95 successful casts to summon him.
Multiple people fishing in the poll makes this process a lot faster.

Server was pretty much dead so this gave me an accurate gauge for how many casts to summon the krakkanon.

I just killed this big boy solo as an arms warrior. Second Wind outhealed the damage from both Shpshhh and Gurrggggle. Sadly he didnt drop anything else than 20 Giant Mantis Shrimp. The fight was very messy since both his abilities throw you in different directions. It felt like he threw me around like one of the Shrimps he dropped!

Today I saw a large swarm of migrated reef octopus at Sri-La Village and on my third cast I caught a sea turtle mount. I was pretty surprised as I've tried to catch one of these mounts many times in the past. I'm not sure if you're more likely to catch the sea turtle in one of these schools or if I got lucky; either way I thought I should post it here to let people know.

Fishing south of Sik'Vess where there were TONNES of "Tangled Mantis Shrimp Clusters" at 0515 hrs, Sept 28.

I was fishing from the larger of the pools until this green ... thing rose from the water. It was Krakkanon! It seemed to leave me alone, with its big ugly back turned to me. As a shadow priest, newly off of the Timeless Isle (so loaded to bear with lots of purples), I decided to poke it.

After soloing it for a good five or so minutes, I finally defeated it.

Long story short: It spawned after fishing a big pool of these Mantis Shrimps.

I feel like the loot table for Krakkanon changed somewhat in 5.4 - he now drops herbs, windwool, and the like - along with the usual stack of fish. I don't know if the crafting materials drops according to your profession though. (I'm a herb/alchemist and saw 3 Golden lotus and a stack of green tea drop.)

I fished up 58 Tiger Gourami's (all from one large pool in his spawn point in Kun-Lai Summit) and mounted up to leave. Just as I pulled away, this guy appears. I swing back and he despawns when I get close (did this three times). Finally I hovered high above him over water and kamakazee'd in a shot over water to save damage. A couple hits, and he despawns (did this process again three or four times).

As I was getting ready to call him bugged, I decided to give him one more chance. This time I found a sweet spot at the shoreline (east of his spawn point) where he didn't bug out. Sent in my pet and tried to keep him at the same spot, but this guy has quite a knockback. Luckily again, my back was at a hillside on the shoreline. This kept him from knocking me out into depsawn zone.

I don't know what I would have done if I was melee or didn't have my pet, but I reported this as a bug. He dropped some cloth and ore, and yes if this happens everytime he should definitely be an achievement just for your patience in watching him spawn/despawn. A few times in this process I had him down to 1/2 or less health, only to fade away... grr

This may be a bug in 5.4. I disabled all addons but that did not help, either.

I was doing the daily "What Lurks Below" at Krasari Falls and decided to stay a minute and fish the big pool of "Swarm of panicked paddlefish". My dad called a few minutes in, and was alarmed to hear me yell "Holy Crap!" while we were discussing what to put in the turkey this year.

Very shocking to have Krakkanon fly up out of the water so close and unexpectedly. Yeah, he's big, and I had no idea what was happening. 500ilvl aff lock, and it took a while to burn him down. I recieved silkweed x20, and Krasarang Paddlefish x16 and x4. I tried to explain what was happening on the phone during the fight, but my dad had no idea what I was talking about and told me to call him back tomorrow.

I came here to share my story, of the day I met Krakkanon. Which is just now, I have my Death Knight on my other monitor just bashing away at Krakannon as i'm typing this.

Some details and/or observations:

No reason to panic, he does have a whopping 19.70 Million HP, but he hits soft like a little kitten. If you have any healing capabilities, you will do fine soloing. Also confirming that he does not aggro when he spawns, only after you engage him.
My fishing skill at the time of pull was 348, no boosters. So that takes us nearly to the conclusion that anyone could fish it up, high skill or not.
The fight is practically a tank and spank method in my eyes as a death knight, with DPS (i520ish) gear on, I went with Blood specialization and in Veteran of the Third War, just to be sure. He hits about 5,000~, with the occasional 14,000 from an ability.
With my DPS being roughly 75k, the fight took (while writing this), about 10 minutes, give or take a minute.
Drops were indeed the Nat's Fishing Journal, full stack of Jade Lungfish and also a full stack of Fool's Cap.
Location was south west of Sri-La Village in The Jade Forest, in the big pond, downstream of the river coming from Tian Monastery.
The amount of casts it took, was roughly 40 at the big pool

Funny thing is, I was just casually reading about Krakkanon and how it would be cool to actually spawn it. So I was reading this article, trying to drain as much information out of these comments and what could be required, skill or item wise. Just as I got about half way through the comments, I saw a big red glow on my screen and a huge sound coming off and I was like What the Flux?. I turn my head on the other screen and there it was. I was genuinely surprised how big it was and nearly took a brown one in my pants.

Just killed him a second ago. Already had Tiger Flying Gourami and Mimic Octopus on me. He dropped 20 Redbelly Mandarin, 1 black trillium ore, 1 white trillium ore and 20 ghost iron ore. Nearly died when I saw him spawn on top of me :) Then came here saw and Aloak's brilliant comment about staying at max range. Proved very effective for my Boomkin. Took about 10 or so minutes (yes, I know my DPS is rubbish lol) to kill him.

This guy spawned for me during the "Fish of the day" Area at the shadow pan monastary.
I'd just like to see if anyone else had my problem, because I've done all the quests in the area, all the anglers around the lake and krakkanon himself kept phasing out for me.

At the end i had to fly up onto the cliff and shoot at him with fireballs.
Just makes me wonder what else isn't showing for me because it's all phasing out?

Solo'd this guy with my 90 Paladin he had 19.7 Million hps and dropped 20 Exotic Leather and 20 Spinefish. It's doable just need to keep out of his spray and little pools he'll put below you. Only 507 ilvl.

Downed him solo with an MM hunter this morning. Only guild member on wasn't interested, and no other Horde players in the zone. But I had Spirit Bond, so neither me nor my pet bear ever dropped below 90% health. 509 gear helped. Herbs and fish.

Fished this guy up today in the large pond north of Niuzao Temple after being directed there by the NPC Fisherman in Valley of the Four Winds. Fishing skill was only 150, I got 20 of the "fish of the day", a Flying Tiger Gourumi, and 20 Spirit Dust. Solo'd as a Brewmaster Monk.

I'm sort of surprised no one's mentioned this yet, but if you're farming this guy, his pool takes between 2 to 3 hours to respawn after each kill.

Once his pool spawns, it can take between two and twenty minutes to actually fish him up.

I'm not sure, however, if you can get loot from him on the same toon more than once per day. I have four toons I'm still leveling fishing on, and I trade out between kills.

He has 19.7 mil health.

I fished/summoned this bad boy up after about 20 casts from a Large pool of Crowded Redbelly Mandarin during an active Fish of the Day migration at the Fields of Niuzao (Townlong Steppes) on my 553 Survival Hunter. My fishing is at 600, I wasn't using a hat, lure, or fancy rod. I was able to solo him in about 2-3 minutes. I looted a stack of Redbelly Mandarin, Nats Fishing Journal, and a stack of Spirit Dust. This rare has a lot of health, and for what it's worth, I don't think I could have soloed him on any of my level 90 alts. I'd suggest a group of 2 or 3 to get him down fast.

I'd like to mention that the loot from this guy are delived the same way as the loot from timeless isle. This means that if you recently have fished up Flying Tiger Gourami or any other related to nat pagle faction that are actually UNIQUE you will get them delivered by the postmaster so don't panic.

Just soloed as a level 89 ret paladin with a 399 ilvl. Recieved Ghost Iron Ore x20, Emperor Salmon x20, White Trillium Ore x1, and Flying Tiger Gourami. Took me a very long time, about 20-30 minutes. In the end it wasn't really worth it for the loot that I recieved. You should definitely bring a friend if you plan to solo at low gear level.

I was just running across the water in Kun-Lai and a 90 mage was fighting him, I had no idea what it was but noticed I didn't have to be grouped with him. So, I joined in for the extra DPS. Took like 5 minutes or so, I got some kind of epic Sha something or other, dust, and food. Welp.

He does not attack when spawned but he WILL attack you first if you get close. I tested this just now to be sure, he's definitely aggressive/rednamed, you don't need to strike first to be struck.

As a feral druid in decent gear pulling maybe 110k dps halfassed, he takes ~3 minutes and poses absolutely no threat. It's a far cry from the 10-15 minute tough fight at the start of MoP.

Noticed something funny the last few days. Normally it took me 200+ casts on average to spawn krakkanon. But I found that if you hover over the large pools than you will find a small pool with larger fish in it. I found now for the fourth day running that if you fish these pools with larger fish that krakkanon usually spawns much quicker.

So i fished him up today and instead of any kind of nats daily fish i got a single Sha Crystal. Then i got the 20 fish and 20 spirit dust. Also my blood dk didn't go below 95% health the whole time. Took about 8 mins soloing.

I'm beginning to think this guy will spawn without anyone fishing in his pool. Twice today, I flew by the daily fishing spot (today was by Stormstout Brewery), and he was active. There were no other players around, and I highly doubt someone would spawn him and leave. He spawned exactly 3 hours from the last time I saw him, so I'd say the comments on this page about him having a 2-3 hour spawn time are accurate

I was fishing in the Wood of The Lost because of a fishing hint given my a Mob in Halfhill.
I went there with the intention to try and start the perilous journey to fishing up the ultra-rare Sea Turtle mount, and instead found THIS giant thing on the end of my line. I had to have a very high-DPS friend come and help me kill it. Dropped some fish, Nat's Journal, and a few other things. Scared the ultimate crap out of me. My friend thought me might be a world boss so, naturally, I kind of panicked lol.

Fishing for about 40 minutes and nothing happened - so I figured he was not gonna spawn. I relaxed, equipped my fishing rod/Ancient Pandaren Fishing Charm and settled in to enjoy the fishing and the scenery...

Then he erupted, after a quick re-equip I settled in for the long grind (L88 Shadow Priest mostly in greens). I've killed him before on my Lock so knew it was easy once you settle into your DPS rotation - just might take a bit of time, but figured it'd be great xp so worth the effort. He's a L90 elite right?. Wrong. Nada, Zip, Zero, sweet fanny adams, diddly, and I mean, squat. It took me 15 minutes to kill him and all I got was 20 paddlefish, 20 wind wool cloth and 3 bolts of wind wool cloth. But on the plus side, I also caught 160 Krasarang Paddlefish, a Flying Tiger Gourami and 5 crates.

He also spawns within the timeless Isle in the Pool where all the Jewel Danio gather together, along with the Cranes and Tigers

I noticed no one has done a study, but could someone please do a spawn-test? I'd like to know the average time for respawns. I would do this myself... but I work 12 hr shifts...

Just fished this guy up by accident in the fields of Niuzao while trying for the Tiny Red Carp! Killed with no problems by my Disc priest, just took me a few mins. I was in range of his casts but none of his damage penetrated through my absorbs :) He dropped a stack of 20 snow lily, 20 redbelly mandarin and a flying tiger gourami :o

Allright, so let me tell you a story. I went to Ben and got the fish of the day (or whatever it's called) and it turned out to be at the waterfall in Krasarang Wilds. Perfect. I went there and, sure enough, there was a big school of fish. I fished from it for quite some time before finally I depleted it and Krakkanon spawned. Being a Fury warrior, I don't have great survivability. I died once before finally killing him after a second attempt. This f***er only dropped 20 jade lungfish and 20 spirit dust, after all that.

I fished him up in the Mossgreen Lake on Timeless Isle and he didn't count as either a Rare or Elite creature for Strong Enough To Survive or Path of the Mistwalker.

I have camped this guy for about a month now.
He will always spawns on the daily fishing area that Ben of the Booming Voice tells you to fish.
He will also mark this on your map:)

Spawn time is around 2-3 hours from what I have seen, its personal loot so as long as you tag him you get something.

When his pool is up it can take upto 20mins ish for him to spawn.

Easy kill really he does not hit hard.

The amount of loot is quite good, normaly get a few stacks of ore,fish leather and the daily fishing turn ins , and of course Pat's book is a drop a rare drop but it does drop:)

Fished this monster up from a large pool at the Fields of Niuzao, quite a shock considering I was previously quite content to fish! Not spotting the ginormous health bar I went ahead and attacked him.

I was getting swamped fairly quickly and losing a lot of health so after a quick stun, I swam to the top end of the lake, climbed out and hid behind the nearest tree. I was just far enough away that I could withstand his attacks with minimal damage and I stood there patiently ebbing away his health bit by bit for at least half an hour with ranged attacks.

Finally beat the thing and looted 20 x Green Tea Leaves and 20 x Redbelly Mandarin. My bonus reward? I went back to fishing only to pull up a Tiny Blue Carp, how's that for a stroke of luck!

Quick Tip ( maybe already in here ) keep your back to a wall ( if by brewery ) or turn so u land in water if getting tossed into air , quick heal pot before landing if cant avoid the ground .

Found a metric buttload of fishing pools around Sri-La Village late one night, after the Wanderer's festival had ended and decided to hunker down in an attempt to get the turtle mount. Was a little surprised to see a rather -sizable- fishing pool but thought that maybe it was just a never-ending pool for a short time, so I went about my merry way and kept fishing it.

Was not expecting a giant monster to pop out of it like the Lurker Below. Nor was I expecting my NPC scanner to blare in my ear after spending so long listening to the quiet and calm zone music. Just about had a heart attack, but the BoA fishing journal was worth it.

I don't know if there's been a nerf to this guy, but I only did 400k damage according to my combat log and that was enough to kill him. Dropped 20 of the fish from the pool I'd caught him in plus 20 exotic leather, no special fish or book :(

I fished up about 90 Reef Octopus, 4 Sealed Crate, and 1 Mimic Octopus from the Large Swarm of Migrated Reef Octopus in The Jade Forest until Krakkanon spawned. It was an awkward fight because he kept shooting me far up into the air. This can lead to him evading and resetting back to 100% health. Position yourself just beneath the ledge that you'd fish from. He cannot propel you then.

After all that he dropped:

1 Mimic Octopus (why oh why another one?),
20 Mist-Touched Leather, and
20 Reef Octopus.

Whilst the Large Swarm of Migrated Reef Octopus despawned, the masses of other pools did not.

Buffed with everything I had 925 fishing skill.

Oh jeez! Was fishing in a large pool of Jewel Danio on Timeless Isle in the dead of night since it was where the swarm was today and I had a long night shift. Makes for good relaxing to just fish, you know? After fishing from the "Large Glimmering Jewel Danio Pool," this giant beast shows up out of nowhere! I'm assuming it's rather normal when fishing in the large swarm pools...? oO;;;;

I'm probably the first one to comment since the start of BfA (8.0.1) confirming that he still spawns (although i almost gave up).

I fished him up at Sri-La village, The Jade Forest in the Large Swarm of Migrated Reef Octopus. After 26(!) minutes of fishing (with max skill overall - and Pandaria fishing 100 of course):

95 Reef Octopus
3 Sealed Crate
1 Impeccably Sharp Tooth
1 Mimic Octopus

Krakkanon dropped:

20 Reef Octopus
20 Ghost Iron Ore
1 White Trillium Ore
1 Mimic Octopus

First time trying for this since it's the only Rare on the island I haven't taken down....

At Pandaria Fishing level 75 (max) and after exactly 170 minutes of continuous fishing and after 412 Jewel Danio AND... Tiny Blue Carp (a VERY pleasant surprise on its own, which came after the first 175 Jewel Danio; I was wearing Talisman of True Treasure Tracking ).... >>> I gave up fishing in the "Eternal Pool" aka Mossgreen Lake, in Timeless Isle..... for now.

Today I was fishing the large pool and Krakkanon appeared TWICE. I attacked it as soon as I could (mashing my attack key) but after it died I could NOT loot the mob; however, players from the opposite faction could loot the boss. My character is only level 30, I don't know if that makes a difference but I feel cheated.

Got him today after speaking with Ben near Halfhill.

I was sent to the North-Western bit of the Dreadwastes. Took around 15-20min (105 Shrimp caught)

Got him today. Talked to Ben in Halfhill, he sent me to Binan Village. Fished in the large pool a total of 3 casts and he popped out. Received 20x Spinefish, 3x Golden Lotus, and 20x Rain Poppy, plus obviously the progress toward the Glorious! achievement. Good luck out there!

I can confirm that Krakkanon does spawn in Pandaria Remix. I fished him up today in the Dread Wastes and he dropped the usual amount of Infinite Threads, a load of fish, and some wool.
