In live, there is only one craft for five carts, one type of cart and unlimited supply of soup which are limited to being unique 5 per player: Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart Kit creating 5 Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart Kit which allows you to buy Pandaren Treasure Noodle Soup for free*. Although you can only carry 5, you can eat one and buy another except for the cart owner, but the cart owner will get his/her spec relative Well Fed buff*. Lets do new mats:

Each craft costs 5 of each +300 statfood, 30 total. As Mad Brewer's Breakfast is still useless this comes down to 25 food useful otherwise.
The craft creates 5 carts which are not bound.
Each cart optimally sells (n*6) soup, n the amount of raiders.
Each craft optimally sells (n*6)*5 soup.
For 10 man (10*6)*5 = 300 well fed, for 25 man (25*6)*5 = 750 and for 40 man (40*6)*5 = 1200.
The math for Flexible you are free to do yourself, but it is profitable either way.
In the lowest comparison, a 10 men guild spends 30 food for an optimal supply of 300 well fed buffs, which is quite a difference compared to feasts (50).

I like this system, although in my opinion there is one issue with it: it is optimized for as much players using it as possible (40+ for world bosses) as the potential of a cart is unlimited, and ultimately based on n amount of players.

*EDIT 2013/11/19: and it was also hotfixed the one putting up the stand will get his/her Well Fed buff whilst exiting the stand. 6 food for everyone!
*EDIT 2013/10/15: apparantly, somewhere during the 5.4 hotfixes soup was made free. No more costs, but no more sell and rebuy tactics either. Give or take it, for its regular uses this is a very welcome change.
*EDIT 2013/09 (5.4 live): originally this post was made to explain the uses of seperate food vs a 10 man cart vs a 25 man cart, as these were included on the PTR and it seemed as if making a 25 version for both raid intensities was advisable... maybe due to Flexible and the fact that Blizzard realized this as well, they changed the sytem.

The questline to get the noodle recipes begins at Timeless Isle, upon finding a broken sign tablet to the northeast of Mossgreen Lake, among the rubble of the broken bridge; the tablet gives the quest , that sends you on a search of someone “Lin”, a name that was written on the sign.

Lin dwells in the village of Old Pi’jiu in the southwestern part of Timeless Isle. Upon finding her, you will be granted the quest , which sends you to Temple of Jade Serpent dungeon and requires you to defeat the Sha of Doubt - it can be done on any difficulty.

After the Sha is defeated, you can find a small scroll on the left side of the wall, inside the same room - the quest is being delivered straight to it. The scroll mentions a character in the text that means “recipe”, but it is possible that the scroll itself may have become corrupted by the sha presence inside the temple.. and upon opening the scroll, you find out that it is true, and the only way to cleanse the old recipe is to release the evil energies hidden within and defeat them.

is the next part of the questline and is being done in the same room - upon reading the scroll, the Ghost of Lin Da-Gu appears with an inspiring yell “Who wants soup!”.

He is an elite pandaren ghost with currently 7.878.000 hp and has a set of abilities:

at the pull he summons three sets of whirling frying pans (or Bowls) that bounce around, from wall to wall, in the straight fixed lines, hitting for ~115.000 physical damage;
regularly he throws a set of noodles on the ground (looks like ivory spider web), they slow the movement if being stepped on; also seem to disappear over time;
more often that not, he also throws four Dash of Spice that create a patch of flame on the ground and deal ~200.000 fire damage (more annoyingly, he can throw them right under his current target, with 0.5 seconds to react to it), these don’t seem to disappear and sooner or later can cover the whole balcony;
finally, he has a long-distance breath attack Boiling Broth, only way to avoid it seems to be walking behind him, but he keeps turning his face to his tank even while casting this, before the damage hits, so at the moment, on the PTR, it’s impossible to avoid the first tick of damage. Hits for 102.000 fire.

After defeating the ghost, you pick up the recipe and venture to Halfhill Market in hopes to find someone who can help you decipher it - Sungshin Ironpaw .

Upon meeting her, you are ought to go to the granary to the south and catch 20 sacks of grain, to make the noodles - . As a reward for completing this quest, you get taught a recipe of 250 stat noodle cart.

You are given a quest to create one noodle cart, a recipe of which you've just learned, and head inside Stormstout Brewery, to pickup 20 Sloshes of Brew from the alementals there. Each alemental, large or small one, drop only one, and you need to defeat all of them inside the dungeon, up to the last pack that is included in the last boss' encounter. This quest provides you with a 275 stat noodle cart recipe as a reward.

Next in the chain is , requiring you to create a newly learned noodle cart and collect meat from the turtles on the Timeless Isle. Pretty straightforward. You can find the turtles on the western landing shores of the Isle.

The last quest is and requires you to do a fun solo scenario, to serve customers with your noodle soups, in attemps to find the "secret ingredient". There are three soups you can make - one for each type of customer:

young trainees in blue robes prefer common cheap soup (first one);
merchants, dressed in dark clothes, prefer a soup of extra taste (second one, with fish);
farmers, dressed in red farmer shirt and wearing a straw hat, prefer a meaty soup to replenish their strength (third one).

After successfully completing the quest, you reveal what the secret ingredient truly is, learn the recipe for 300 stat noodle cart, as well as open two more daily quests, each awarding an Ironpaw Token for your cooking needs.

So just for clarification,
I spend a bunch of time and resources, go back to places I have no interest in, to be able to spend more gold, mats, etc. to become a vendor to sell food to my raid group, but I don't get the gold or even free food for myself?
What is the benefit to me exactly?

It appears there is no limit to the number of people who can buy bowls from a given cart. There is a 5 bowl limit on what you can have in your bags. So each cart can provide 5 bowls for everyone in your raid, making it a much more efficient way to feed your raid than using your own foods. In fact, everyone but the person who "uses" the noodle cart can actually eat one of their bowls and buy a 6th bowl. The cart does have a time limit of a couple of minutes, though, before it disappears.

So from 25 stats foods plus 5 Mad Brewer Breakfasts, you get 5 carts that can each provide 50 bowls to a 10man raid (or 59 bowls if everyone eats a bowl and buys another to replace it before the noodle cart expires... the person who is the noodle cart vendor cannot eat while the cart is up, otherwise it would be 60 here). So that results in a maximum of 295 bowls from those mats... that's nothing to sneeze at!

For 25man raids, that'd be 149 per cart or 745 total out of 25 stats foods (plus 5 brews).

A few things:
Once you make the cart, people in your group can buy noodles.
~~noodles cost about 4g each.~~ Yay, as people pointed out it is now free to purchase the food for you and your raid members.
You do not get the gold when people buy them
~~you have to pay for them yourself (from your own cart no less)~~
if you leave the cart, it vanishes (it acts like a vehicle you sit in) so you need to make sure everyone gets their food BEFORE getting out.
The food is soulbound, so if people don't buy them in time, you can't trade them.

This is the new +300 max level "feast" introduced in Patch 5.4: Seige of Orgrimmar.

The cart turns the user into a vendor of Pandaren Treasure Noodle Soup, which anyone nearby can purchase and stacks to 5, whether in party or not. The cart vendor DOES NOT get to keep the money. While there were initially 10 man and 25 man version carts that held a maximum number of charges on the PTR (50 charges and 125 charges respectively), it seems that Blizzard did away with this and the cart now holds unlimited soup, or at least 150 charges from our testing of this cart kit. While it requires many more mats than a single feast, if you're planning on wiping more than a few times, it's much cheaper to use this. A video guide to the cart kit quest chain is available here for anyone having trouble with it.

The most cost-efficient and time-saving way to use these in raids (10 man or 25 man) is to have every person grab 5 Noodle Soups, eat one of them for the Well Fed buff, and then buy one more before the noodle vendor exits the cart. This way you get an extra round of food for free, rather than the normal five.

Also, whoever is the vendor must absolutely shoot off fireworks every time. Because they look awesome. :P

So basically, this requires 30 of the 300 stat food to make (well, 5 of them are the non-stat Mad Brewer's Breakfast). Ignoring the type of food, let's say you get everyone in a 10m guild to donate 3 food. You craft the cart and they each buy 5 food. So it converts to 2 more food than eating the food alone.

In a 25m guild, everyone donates 1.2 food (in reality, everyone donates 1 food and someone throws in an additional 5) and they get 5 back.

So it's efficient (moreso the more people you serve), if a little awkward. ~~The really headscratch part of it is the fact that the cook can't get 5 noodles as well... they really should change that.~~ (NOTE: you CAN buy food from yourself, you just click on yourself as a vendor! Didn't know that.)

Oops yeah, it makes 5 carts, so the returns are actually a maximum of 25 food per 3/1.2 donated, if you wait until your first stack of 5 runs out and then put up another cart each time (if this was all in one night of raiding, this would require 25 wipes with a cart put down every 5). So yeah, definitely cost effective.

Noodle cart chefs will now receive a well-fed buff while serving other players bowls of noodle soup.

So now everyone gets 1 buff plus 5 food (ie 6 effective food per cart) including the person who puts down the cart. Nice.

Each one turns your character into an NPC with a Chef's Hat, a Rolling Pin, and a Frying Pan, and sets your view point to a cart in front of you. The appearance of the cart varies depending upon which kit you use. While you are an NPC you sell one of three soups to go with the currently active cart, Noodle Soup, Deluxe Noodle Soup, or Pandaren Treasure Noodle Soup.
You also have a vehicle toolbar with the following abilities:

Wave: Displays a message to a random nearby target or the currently selected target in the "NPC Language" that all races can understand.

With Target: "Hey there,<Target Name>. Won't you try some of my hot noodle soup?"

Without Target: "Get your Noodle Soup here!"

Cook: Your character will perform the cooking animation for a few seconds.

Dance: Your character will perform the /dance animation for a few seconds.

Fireworks: Launches a firework from your noodle cart. The firework used varies based on the noodle cart currently active.

You may only have five of each of the soups at a time and the soups currently have no level requirement, the soups also appear to have a unique eating model, a bowl of soup on the ground and your character eats it with chopsticks. Soups do not seem to have a price as of 9/16/2013.

It may have been said already, but they have changed it so that it doesn't cost anything to buy the food from the noodle cart. It still stacks to 5, and gives 300 stats of a useful primary stat.

The real trick here (which may have been mentioned) is to buy 5, eat one, buy one more. This way you get the benefit of 6. The limit of 5 is only on how many you can hold, not on how many you can buy.

It appears that as of September 17th/18th the noodles from all carts are free. This is now inarguably the most efficient way to buff your raid with high-end stat food.

This also means that one cannot sell the noodles to have a huge buyback queue to draw from as mentioned in another comment.

Scales to any level. The stand stays up for approximately 3 min. The 250 noodle cart gives less stats to a lower level than the 300. A Level 58 gains 23 stats with the 250 noodle cart, and 27 stats with a 300 noodle cart.

I'm having a problem buying my own noodles, and am posting it here to see if anyone is having the same problem.
I can buy noodles off other people's carts, but when I right-click on myself, my cart closes.
I assume it's an add-on closing the cart, any ideas?

Update: After looking at the WoW forums, it is indeed an addon closing the cart. Turn off "summon companion pets on moving" if you have it enabled in a pet addon (I had Livestock installed). Once I turned that command off, I was able to bring up the vendor window and buy my own noodles.

For current or aspiring raid cooks with In-game ADHD, here's your shopping list for a stack of 20 Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart Kit.

As you'll see below, the cost and time involved in creating these carts is quite involved. For those of you who simply want the benefits of noodle bowls without making them, consider sharing some of these mats to lighten the cost and farming load on your cook. Believe me, they will be very well received.

For these, I like the little Island just North of Nayeli Lagoon in Krasarang Wilds.
Be sure to go up on the grassy area, as they don't strictly wander the beaches..
Raw Crab Meat
There are tons of Viseclaw crabs (Elders, Scuttlers, Fishers, etc.) along the beaches of Krasarang Wilds.
They're pretty spread out, so be prepared to fly around a bit.
Raw Turtle Meat
The marsh area in Dread Wastes is where I go, but this world is filled with turtles so pick any spot you like.

Anyone else have an issue with the cart closing by itself even when I'm not doing anything (no typing, mouse movement, etc). It seems like a random (but semi-frequent) event, so I can't tell what's causing it.

Edit: Seems to happen when people spam click my cart. Mostly confirmed.

I think it is fair to mention that, while you DO NOT need to be maxed out in every Way style of cooking to start the quest line that leads up to the making of this cart, you DO in fact need to max out every Way style of cooking if you intend on making the recipes required by this cart yourself. You could always rely on others or the AH to supply you with the recipes, but I found buying the base level ingredients and creating the recipes for the cart to be cheaper in the long-run, so do not be weary to invest into your cooking to max every Way style.

On another note, many resources online and in-game suggest you must have cooking at 600 to receive the starter quest to this quest line, and I was not maxed out when I got it so there is either a bug or the information I saw is misleading. Happy cooking!

How to:

Overall - Enter your quantities in all of the yellow highlighted cells.
Pandaren Treasure Noodle Cart - Enter in the quantity you want to make. This number is how many times you want to make the recipe, not total amount of carts (that will be x5).
Black Pepper Shrimp, Chun Tian Spring Rolls, etc. - Enter in how many already-made 300 foods you have.
On Hand - Enter in how many raw mats you have.
Need - This is how many mats you need to make the cart recipe.
