This is obtained by permanently unlocking 4 of your anima conductor locations. Then you need a currency (Grateful Offering) obtained from interacting with the daily activities that are unlocked by reinforcing these locations.

As previously stated, the gating behind this item requires multiple weeks to unlock, which makes it completely useless since the only actual utility it could have would be to obtain a currently locked legendary (world boss, torghast or raid before opening). By the time we get access to this, we will realistically have all contents unlocked and world boss rotation completed, therefore making this item pretty much worthless.

This is completely useless. It needs 4 reinforced anima streams which means you need anima conductor lvl 2 and 40 days to reinforce all the links. 2 months into the expac you will be having all the powers anyway and for some reason this is not BoA either.

I got 4 permanently-reinforced anima conductor nodes last night, and was able to buy this for 35 Grateful Offering . I am a Monk and the only power I did not have collected was Memory of Jailer's Eye . This item gave me that legendary power to complete my collection, so I can confirm it gives generic powers and saving me the Stygia cost of that item. I did not spend another 35 Grateful Offering to see if it does anything when you have every legendary power learned already.

I completed my 4 reinforced anima streams tonight and bought 6 x this item from the quartermaster. You can only have 1 of these in bags, so if you have enough currency and are looking for multiple chronicles, you will have to buy > use > buy another > and so on.

I had 6 memories incomplete Memory of Eonar Memory of the Arbiter's Judgment Memory of Norgannon Memory of Jailer's Eye Memory of a Vital Sacrifice Memory of the Rattle of the Maw, and got all of them by using this item 6 times

I just collected my last memory so have them all for a hunter. The vendor Dar Vattish no longer has the item to purchase. I guess the solution was to remove the option of purchasing the item.

So a little bit of forewarning, the memories out of this item can give you ones that you can't use as well. I got Memory of the Rattle of the Maw and still couldn't use it as I wasn't revered with the Undying Army.

Still wondering why Blizz won't put these on sale on the same 'kind' of NPC. 2 Covenants it's their Renown vendor, my Night Fae Hunter has to fly out of the Heart of the Forest to the Hibernal Hollow to buy these on Spindlenose (who's from the 'extra' Ardenweald reputation 'Court of Night').

What we know so far:
* This item gives you a random legendary power item in your bag (the items which you loot from relevant source), which you can use at runecarver's sub-zone to unlock the legendary power.
* Item is unique so you cannot buy another until you use the one in your bag.
* The selection pool for legendary power is based on class so it can give you off-spec specific powers.
* It ignores purchase source requirements but still applies any requirement to use the power (i.e. you can get PvP powers without ever doing PvP or get reputation-based purchasable powers without the adequate reputation).
* It removes any legendary power in your bag but not used at runecarver from the selection pool. This means you do not have to worry that you may get a power twice when you purchase multiples and use in-chain.

If you’ve unlocked all legendary memories on your character then buy and use this item, nothing will happen. You can then sell it to the vendor to get back your 35 Grateful Offering.

The permanently reinforced streams seems to need to be with the same covenant.
I've got 2 permanent Kyrian and Night Fae streams reinforced and I can not purchase the item.

Just got my four reinforced streams, got 300 grateful offerings, went to reknown quartermaster within heart of the forest, bought my first chronicle, took it to runemaster for a memory, went back to reknown quartermaster, and they're not selling the chronicle any more. EDIT: Spindlenose still is, phew!

EDIT: first two were dreadful, didn't even recognise them (Vitality Sacrifice and Timeworn Dreamblender, wha?), then got the rather good Natural Orders will one.

Christ running back and forth 8 times between Ardeweald and the Runekeeper is an absolute pain...

As I don't see it mentioned, I'd like to point out how important this is for those that don't run dungeons or raid or are unlucky with drops. Once I had the best legendary on my main, I kept going to get all the generic memories via Chronicle of Lost Memories, Ve'Nari and the quartermasters. This reduced the number of unknown memories on my alts, even those of different classes. By the time I had the 4 permanent anima streams on the alts, I had enough Grateful Offerings to purchase all the unknowns. For example, this got me Signet of Tormented Kings for my warrior alt without ever running the raid.

This will not give you your covenant specific legendary that is normally rewarded at renown 48.

9.1 Testing with the Leg Covenent specific legendary Memories gotten at level 48 renown. I tested it with my Demon Hunter and since it has every memory except the 3 missing from the other Covenents I bought the book thinking it could work and give me a completed page again - It does not. The only way to get the other covenent specific legendary memories is to either level up a 2nd character of that class or swap covanents and renown to 48 on all characters.

Have any other DHs been awarded Memory of a Burning Wound from Chronicle of Lost Memories?

It's not working for my DH.

I have 4 x unlearned legendary powers on my DH. 3 of them are the off-covenant powers which I know I can't get anyway (without switching covenant), and the other one is Memory of a Burning Wound. I have a Chronicle of Lost Memories in my bag, I have clicked on it countless times. It 'casts' but does nothing and the Chronicle remains in my bag.

I have submitted a bug report. Also submitted a ticket, followed all their suggestions and instructions such as resetting my UI, removing all addons, changing spec. Nothing works.

Anyone have any suggestions for things I can try?

This item is now purchasable from Archivist Roh-Suir in Korthia for 2000 of the Cataloged Research currency.
To unlock Archivist Roh-Suir as a vendor you have to do a short but obnoxious quest chain on that particular character.
In order to start the quest chain you must loot Relic Fragments from a treasure or rare NPC and this will automatically give you the quest to find Scholar Roh-Suir just a tad West of the Seeker's Quorum on the Southeast of the current Korthian map and begin the quest chain.

If you're after a specific 'raid' Memory that you still don't have, Rendle in Zereth Mortis (/way 34.62, 64.02) sell some for all past currencies and also the over-farmed Cosmic Flux.

Just log in yo any alt with excess currency and get that Memory you need (or all of them? ha).

A couple things to note about this item in 9.2:

1) You can now buy it from Bonesmith Heirmir in Korthia using Soul Cinders, which is notably quicker to do than permanently reinforcing 4 anima streams. Don't forget you can package Soul Cinders from him as well, so you can essentially send these to your alts.

2) This WILL NOT unlock Unity. Strangely, since Unity is obtainable as a power now and the only thing gating it is a rep, and you can get every other rep memory with this. Also, despite other comments saying that you can get Third Eye of the Jailer with this, as of 9.2 I did not receive it when opening one with no other valid powers. This means if you want to 100% your powers, you'll have to grind rep with The Enlightened and Ve'nari.

3) This will not give you covenant powers. At all. This is actually good, as Unity is strictly better than them now, but if you wanted 100% completion you'll have to swap to all 4 covenants and get Renown 48. A Broker Mark of Distinction makes this relatively easy.

Sucks that the item that lets you bypass most reps doesn't let you bypass this rep, but hopefully it'll get added to the pool before Shadowlands is over.

After 20 turnins I can confirm you are able to get the Great Vault legendary reward for anyone making an alt that doesn't want to wait until reset day to get a vault reward.

Though I will note it was the absolute last legendary left, not sure if that was a coincidence or maybe it was delayed because I had the vault quest.

We're getting to the end of the expansion, and at this point I made it a bit of a challenge to obtain all Memories (which I completed on October 2nd). Castle Nathria is current so this is not even incredibly tough, just time consuming. Chronicle of Lost Memories can help with Memory sources that are more obscure for alts. To obtain Chronicle of Lost Memories, buying them from Bonesmith Heirmir with 400 Soul Cinders/piece is the most efficient source. Assuming you are Honored with the Enlightened, you can buy Bag of Explored Souls for 3000 Cosmic Flux, awarding you 1650 Cinders, which is enough for four Chronicles.

Tl;dr, 3000 Cosmic Flux = four Chronicle of Lost Memories. Having said that, you should literally dump all Cataloged Research (1500/pc) you have if you have access to these and have leftover Research, as that has no point otherwise.

For actual collecting: doing the following on all classes in an approximate three week window will remove a lot of Memories of the list:

Use Broker Mark of Distinction in every Covenant for the Covenant Memories.
A few classes have a drop from Wrath of the Jailer. This is soloable now, so go into the Maw on even hours.
Run all Torghast wings that drop a Memory on Layer 3+. Most efficient to do them all in a row, so take about an 40-60min per character.
Get the drop from the original World Boss if the correct boss is up.
Run Blood from Stone LFR for two CN Memories and a Vault slot. Denathrius gives another Memory if you fancy.
Lastly, solo any normal dungeon that has two Memories dropping or one from an easily accessible boss.

Mind that this is by no means required! If you have a ton of Flux and characters are Honored with the Enlightened, you can buy as many Chronicles as you need. If you do the above you will have the Honor, a few CN and dungeon Memories left, in addition to anything you decide not to do (for example, on my shaman I decided to drop the Torghast runs as it were the last nine Memories I needed total and had the currencies ready). Mind that Memory of Unity and Memory of Jailer's Eye cannot be unlocked by Chronicles. Enlightened and Ve'nari rep are required, but luckily both are account wide. Another mention is the all-class reputation Memories: either farm reps with your main if you haven't, else use Chronicle of Lost Memories on a character that has all other Memories, to brute force the account wide ones.

Once you have everything, enjoy setting the Loot table to Unavailable and All Classes to see it's empty, only to never look at the table or this item again.

This thing seems hell bent on giving me every legendary I will never need in my life. I'm not good at having currency for this stuff, I'm currently a bit luckier from obtaining a lot of cosmic flux from RBG's but I'm hoping to get the one I'm after that drops from a world boss that isn't up currently, before I run out of cosmic flux and have to run Torghast to actually make the legenday. -.- damn I wish I did more content on this character in the past.
