Patch 5.2 introduced
numerous greens
that bring back a ton of old troll designs, made inaccessible when the original versions of
Zul'Gurub
and
Zul'Aman
were removed. We immediately thought what great transmog additions they would be for players!
The new version of
Zul'Aman
had some recolored weapons and armor, but they didn't match the original items. Plus, player favorites like
Ancient Amani Longbow
never made it into the new version of the instance.
Zul'Gurub
was more extreme--the 5-piece sets from vanilla, often with surprisingly good itemization compared to Tier 1, were never put back in. While they aren't as eye-catching as the
Zul'Aman
armor, they hold sentimental value for a lot of players. Some distinctive weapons like
Fang of the Faceless
never made it back in either.
The majority of this lookalike gear was added in Patch 5.2 as zone drops from
Isle of Thunder
, but later patches have added a few pieces to fill in incomplete sets.

Troll Armor
Many players liked the
Robes of Heavenly Purpose
from level 70 Zul'Aman, which was removed in 4.1. It was replaced with a green and brown version in Cataclysm, which also had matching accessories to form
Amani Regalia
.
It appears the blue version is back, along with more matching armor:
Forlorn Loa-Binder Cage
Forlorn Loa-Binder Robe
Forlorn Loa-Binder Shoulders
Forlorn Loa-Binder Belt
A removed
red/purple
recolor is also getting some love with
Faded Spirit-Wrencher Cage
,
Faded Spirit-Wrencher Robe
,
Faded Spirit-Wrencher Shoulders
.
The original level 70 Zul'Aman had a black leather set with items such as
Shadowtooth Trollskin Cuirass
, which was removed in 4.1. This was replaced by
green
and
red
Cataclysm variations on this black leather set.
The Timeworn Shadowtooth pieces are recolors of this original black set.
Timeworn Shadowtooth Belt
Timeworn Shadowtooth Boots
Timeworn Shadowtooth Cuirass
Timeworn Shadowtooth Grips
Timeworn Shadowtooth Shoulderpads
Timeworn Shadowtooth Trousers
Timeworn Shadowtooth Wristwraps
Timeworn Shadowtooth Faceguard
In addition,
Bloodtusk Shoulderpads
have been added, which are proper matches to the
red recolor
.
The
Amani Chain
set dates from level 70 Zul'Aman--unlike other armor sets from this period, this set is mostly still obtainable as many items had identical skins to Justice Point gear. A purple version was added in 4.1:
Amani Mail
, which is getting matching feet in 5.2,
Lifestep Treads
.
The Brittle Flamereaver pieces provide alternate ways to get the original red version.
Brittle Flamereaver Belt
Brittle Flamereaver Bracers
Brittle Flamereaver Gloves
