As cool as this weapon is, looks and lore-wise, I don't think it should be a One-Handed Mace? It's half of a sword of a titan, even being a two handed sword wouldn't show off it's true might. I'm glad this is in the game to represent victory over Aggrammar either way, so I'll stop complaining :D

"Taeshalach (meaning Flame Rend) is a sword that was forged from one of the two Shatterbound fragments of Gorshalach, and embodies all that is noble and good. When Gorshalach sundered itself, Sargeras abandoned the fragment that would form Taeshalach, as it was useless to him in his corrupted state. Aggramar eventually claimed the fragment and reforged it into its current form, which he currently wields as his weapon. If this weapon is ever combined with the other fragment, which has been reforged into Gorribal, Gorshalach will be reborn."
More info on the sword can be found around online, but this item is a HEAVY lore sword, similar to the Ashbringer.

Considering this Aggramar's sword it should be a two-handed weapon one would think. At the time of this post (7/26/17) it is also listed as a mace so it may very well be just a placeholder.

I REALLY hope the increase the size

Taeshalach, Aggramar's sword was previously one with Sargeras' sword, Gorribal, together they were called Gorshalach and was wielded by Sargeras before he got corrupted with fel and determined to wipe out worlds.

Gorshalach is the strongest weapon that existed and would re-unite again if Taeshalach and Gorribal were brought together by a "Non-Evil Being".

Those legendary swords are easily the strongest weapons in existence.

BUT.

But apparently azeroth's artifact weapons are much stronger than Taeshalach which is merely ilvl 930.

Lets think about it and go back to the past; The Ashbringer was made with a black crystal orb found by Alexander Mograine on a dead orc warlock's body. Thats it. The legendary ashbriger was crafted by some goofballs ball.

Gorshalach was wielded by the single most strongest being: Sargeras.

And no, void lords aren't stronger than Sargeras. They want to corrupt Azeroth's unborn titan soul to stand a chance against him.

So, a sentient being's weapon that was split in two should clearly be much stronger than this.

FOR #$%^'S SAKE SURVIVAL HUNTERS USES A RANDOM TAUREN'S SPEAR AND ITS STRONGER.

Recieved this today on my second aggramar kill as a 955 Titanforged drop

Probably one of the few titanforged ones out there i'd have to imagine, even higher ilvl than my artifact weapon.

If your class can equip this weapon, you'll have a chance of earning it from Aggramar. It doesn't matter what your loot specialization or active class specialization is at the time.

It seems that blizzard has randomly removed this after a few weeks of antorus being released which I dont get at all. It was a rare drop which meant it would probably take a few runs to get it to drop in the first place and now it seems like as if its gone, as its no longer in the loot guide. I dont understand why they removed it like they did and im a little mad about it as well, I wanted to try and go for it but now I guess I can't seeing as they teased us with it and yanked it away. I will delete this post if my information about it is incorrect but it seems like as if you cant get it anymore which is sad.

So just to speak to the rarity or my bad RNG(guessing the former). I've got every class at 110. And have geared my Death Knight, Hunter, Paladin and Warrior to do either mythic (my main x1-have it on farm as of last week), heroic (my alt mainx1), normal (my alt I like playingx1) or LFR (my alt I hate playingx1-but before LFR I'd still clear this on normal) and had all 4 on at least normal farm mid December.

Well over 50 attempts and no sword in sight. I'd put it at the same rarity as Tasks of Mannoroth, First Satyr's Splaulders, etc, but to my knowledge it doesn't show in the group loot and you can't trade it according to the two I asked to just show it in trade (EDIT: GOT THE SWORD AND TRIED TO TRADE IT WITH NO LUCK SO UNTRADABLE). Best of luck to anyone trying to get it. I'm sure some may get it first try, but don't be an ass a post saying "LOL GOT IT FIRST TRY, MUST BE AN HIGH DROP RATE" because it's not. You're either full of crap or very lucky, post only relevant info.

Hey, I just ticketed a GM about a separate problem and thought I'd ask about some specifics regarding Taeshalach while I was there. I tried to format it as best I could for wowhead, but it's still pretty hideous, I'm sorry about that, and I hope this post is still helpful.

TL;DR: Taeshalach *most likely* can be bonus rolled, *most likely* cannot be traded, can be obtained on multiple difficulties a week, and taking more looting-capable players does not decrease your chance of personally rolling and getting it. GMs are not allowed to know specifics about something so in-depth about a unique situation, so it sounded like he wasn't 100% sure, just 99% sure about most of this. He could not talk about specific drop rates.

If you have EVER bonus rolled it, traded it, or obtained it after running it on a previous difficulty that same week, PLEASE reply to this post or message me and I will update.

Me: well then consider that issue closed, I see you're a specialist GM so I'm wondering if you have any intimate knowledge/the capability of looking up stuff regarding some loot in WoW

GM: I do have a certain set of skills. However, some things can only be known by a Game Master.

Me: I was wondering some "loot rules" regarding Taeshalach/Scythe of the Unmaker, whichever questions you can answer would be helpful

GM: I shall say what I can say :)

Me: I understand it's pushed by "personal loot", so my first question would be, am I rolling against anyone when it's "pushed" to me by personal loot? In example, if I take a friend, am I rolling against my friend that can loot the item as well?

GM: No, you are not rolling against anyone in personal loot for a specific item. Each player has their own personal loot table that is rolled against.

Me: Awesome. Two followup questions then: 1. Can the item be seen when it is looted? Does it say in the chat/on the screen, "so-and-so looted Taeshalach", or is that message "hidden?"

Me: And, 2. Can the weapon then be traded to other eligible raid members? I'd love to take my girlfriend along for my weekly Aggramar run on her DK, but if she loots Taeshalach and she can't give it to me both of us will have a stroke

GM:There is an option in the game where you can see detailed looting of your group. So if you are in the same group, you can see it if you want. Just enable the option.

GM: lol, so that is where it gets tricky. Before personal loot could never be traded. Now it can, but it looks at a lot of rules before making it eligible or not. The biggest one is if the item is an upgrade for the person who looted it. If it is, no trade. Basically, the item has to have no real use for the person who won it, that then allows them to trade it.

Me: Taeshalach is not technically an upgrade, right? Since it's not an artifact weapon? Or does the ruleset just look at the ilvl and say "oh, higher ilvl, it's an upgrade" and locks the loot?

GM: Well, you have a point about the Artifacts. Though with the way I understand it works, the Artifacts are not considered for weapons.

Me: Just want to be sure: Taeshalach would ignore the fact that you have an artifact (potentially one of higher ilvl than Taeshalach) and lock the loot to the player receiving it regardless, then?

GM: Most likely, yes. With Artifacts in the game I have not see too may end game weapon trade issues, it is almost all armor.

Me: Alrighty, No bringing the girlfriend to raid with on a Taeshalach capable class then. Gotcha. Two follow up questions then: 1. Does it have a higher chance to drop on higher difficulties?

GM: Important point to know, if the item is not tradable, we cannot change that outcome, even if it seems something is not right.

GM: Drop rates are not something we can get into :)

Me: and 2. Can the chance to receive it happen on multiple difficulties each week, or is it a once-a-week thing regardless of difficulty? Can you bonus roll it?

GM: A bonus roll is merely another chance to roll for loot against that bosses specific loot table, so sure, you can bonus roll it. And aside from some very unique items, each difficulty will not affect what drops in another.

Me: Taeshalach is not a "very unique" item in that regard then? So it can be both bonus rolled and can be looted on multiple difficulties each week?

GM: I have not seen anything in regards to it being unique, so I am 99.9% sure it is not difficulty restricted when looting. And yes, bonus rolls are a totally valid way to get it.

Me: Ah, jeeze dude, I was trying to bonus roll EVERY week for it for a while but wowhead was saying no one had ever bonus rolled it before so I stopped, now I feel dumb

GM: Yeah, that may be true, but I suspect that someone somewhere has won it with a bonus roll. But a bonus roll is very simple, it is just a second chance at the loot table for that boss. Nothing is removed, save quest items.

Me: dang dude

Me: feel like i wasted attempts now

GM:There is always the remote chance the Devs made it otherwise, but that is not something we would know. A decision like that is not something we need to know.

GM: If it were me, I would have bonus rolled every chance

Just got it on one of my alts today after around 80 kills. Farmed with 12 alts (3 hunters, 3 dk, 3 warrior and 3 pally) and got on my fury warrior.

Just had this weapon drop for me in LFR while in Frost Spec loot as a DK. Popped up in middle of screen when looting, not a roll with coin. Hope this helps people, seems you don't need to be in the 2H loot spec to get it. So I can pry the legendary blade of a damn Titan from his cold dead hands but I can't get Garrosh to give up his damn shoulders!

In a single raid we had two people get this sword (i.e two swords dropped in one kill). I will try to post screenshot. One sword was simply Mythic while other was Mythic Warforged (perhaps that may explain double drop but that's only my speculation)

So this dropped for me just now. In heroic with three other people (another DK, Druid and DH). I was in frost spec DK, and it went straight to my bags before looting Aggramar. In the same way you get world boss loot. Untradable to other party members.

I've been researching across the internet for consistent information on how best to farm this, as there is quite a bit if contradicting information. I'm now confident in this information:

1) YOU CAN ONLY TRY ONCE PER CHARACTER PER WEEK. That means killing Aggramar on LFR/N/H/M will still only offer you one chance. If you can solo LFR, that's your once chance per week. Please don't waste a ton of time running this 4x per character for a few weeks like I did.

2) You CANNOT bonus roll for the drop. This one is a little more controversial/unclear, but the general consensus seems to be that because this is not on Aggramar's loot table, it cannot be bonus rolled. It is personal push loot, meaning it will show up as a popup the moment the kill happens, rather than by looting him.

This is true for essentially any non-loot table gear (as in, it isn't on the loot table in the Adventure Guide) -- including Scythe from Argus.

So, this is now considered a transmog item with stats - meaning that as of 9.1.5, you don't learn the transmog until you "use" the weapon. However, by doing that, the weapon completely disappears from your inventory functioning like a consumable.

Good news: you can still get the item, get the transmog, and not have the item take up an inventory or bank slot.

Bad news: if you like items in your bank/void storage for memories, inventory, etc. then you will need 2 of these weapons.

I made this character a weapon tmog and then transferred it to my account
I didn't get the weapon

So don't think of doing this way and lose 25 euros

Note that the character i moved is currently carrying a weapon in my account
But in Transmoq the weapon does not appear

Finally got this after years of killing on multiple difficulties. It actually dropped off LFR, and I got both mounts from the raid before getting. Something that is interesting is you have to right click the on use of it now and it does despawn the weapon sadly, but does add the appearance account wide. Not sure if it was always like this. Good luck out there if you are grinding it.

I got this today on my honest-to-God 2nd Mythic (didn't play from Legion until DF pre-patch) kill. When I saw it on my bags I was intrigued, checked the looks of it and thought to myself "oh, not bad at all, I might actually mog it.....wait, what's the drop rate on this?"

After 500 attempts (yes I got it on attempt 500), I wanted to clarify rumors I read while I endured the grind to get this weapon.

1. You can farm it on multiple characters. People are saying it has 1 chance per account to drop per week. WRONG.
2. It drops on all difficulties. I managed to get it to drop on an LFR run.
3. The drop rate on this is 0.4%.
4. It does not drop for evokers, though they can transmog it.

TIP for anyone farming. The quest to skip to aggramar on mythic difficulty also unlocks the heroic skip.

I am sorry to say that it dropped to me on my pala after running Burning Throne on Mythic for second time in - so second attempt and sword mog dropped, maybe they raised drop ratio - maybe this post will give you some hope :P.

Both runs I did were made during patch 10.0.5 - so after Dragonflight realease - before Embers of Neltharion. My pala was maxed level, 0 questlines taken, nothing, barely unlocked acces to Antorus - I didn't even aimed for sword I wanted the tier set. I run it as ret pala spec, wearing double hande wep myself.

This grind is slowly chipping away my mental health.

I do LFR on 8 characters, the other 3 difficulties on 5 of them, and have been doing this for the last 6-8 months, before that I only did LFR sporadically for a few years.

After a certain amount of time, I wish the game would just recognise the effort. Alas, I'm still going into Antorus to waste my time, and my life.

EDIT June 7th: So I upped my count this week, so now 7/8 characters do all difficulties. No surprise, this game pissed in my face yet again, and I know this sounds childish, but I straight up want to cry.

EDIT June 14th: Same thing, no drop. I have one normal run left, and I will come back to edit this on the off-chance it drops, but it's probably not gonna happen.

EDIT June 22nd: I lvl'd another warrior and a DK, and upped my game to killing Aggramar on all diffs with all chars. So that's 40 chances at the sword per week from now on, no drop this week.

EDIT June 30th: No drop.

EDIT July 5th: No drop.

EDIT July 12th: So servers were down in the EU for a good long while, mostly wanted to do the LFR tries before I started levelling a new Draenei lock. 3rd LFR run and I almost couldn't believe it. I don't wanna see Antorus again for the longest time now.

After 100s of kills I finally got it to drop :) on Raid Finder, it still drops, don't give up hope! I got it on my Ret Pali, level 61 ^^ absolutely glorious sword!

Is anyone able to use the skip on normal difficulty? On all my characters that I farm for this with the skip works fine on heroic and mythic but on normal there's no option for The Burning Throne.

Got it this week on my BDK, after 70 Mythic kills across 13 chars. Was pleasantly surprised, and almost vendored it as I didn't notice until I logged back in that toon later in the week. Hopefully the mount is just around the corner! :)

The sword still drops, it was assumable since there was 0 announcement from Blizzard otherwise but there you go.
Important to know, the sword goes straight in to your inventory, no need to loot the boss corpse if you want to keep your inventory clean.

You have to right click the sword in your bags to obtain the actual appearance, and yes it can be vendored (for you automated vendoring add-on users, check your vendoring rules)!

For those who still want it, it still drops. Got mine in less than 2 months. Maybe Blizzard bumped up the % chance in dropping it? I don't know.

I've never farmed Antorus before and started farming November 26th/2023 across 3 chars, warrior pala and DK, and across all 4 difficulties ( LFR, Normal, Heroic and Mythic ).
Around second/third week I dropped both mounts one day after the other, the dog's mount 安托兰阴暗恶犬 on warrior and the next day, the Argus mount 带镣铐的乌祖尔 on DK.

Today finally, gotta say pretty much lucky compared to how long others took, the Taeshalach dropped. The item goes into your bag and you gotta use/consume it to get the appearance.

Can't believe it, just got it today on my 3rd LFR attempt, I had started clearing myth/hero/norm on my main to get the skips but also jumped on my dk alt to give it a go in LFR and there it was first run on it. I'm gobsmacked. Used up all my luck for a while I reckon. Took me over three years of trying on and off for the Tusks of Mannoroth. Keep hunting homies, the drops will come! Still no Dream Render tho lmao.

It's still unbelievable but it's over, it's dropped for me too! However so many of you were VERY lucky...for me it took 736 try!

If anyone has problem with not being able to skip to The Burning Throne in Normal, try also getting the skip from Imonar that gets you to the Exhaust. I think in Normal the quest is bugged and needs both criteria to have the teleport ready, so get the quest to kill both Imonar and Aggramar 4 times in Mythic so you can farm Taeshalach on all difficulties

Approximately, 1 year, 8 chars and tries with every difficulties every week. (8 char x 4 difficulties=32 try every week)
Maybe i should've tried 1 difficulty with each of my char every week but i wanted it to make it guarentee.
But it dropped FINALLY TODAY. Im running in the house atm xD
It dropped to my retri paladin (loot spec: current ) on first try of the week with her (ON LFR)
So it may support that it should be tried ONE DIFFICULTY with one character every week, idk.
I hope you guys drop it too, it looks so amazing

Can confirm as of 11.0.0 and the changes to learning transmog this can now drop for characters who cant equip it. It just dropped on my mage.

As of TWW 11.0.0 It is confirmed by players that items such as Taeshalach ⚔️, the Vigilant Hammer 🛡️, and the Scythe of the Unmaker 🔨. Previously, these items were personal loot for specific classes only. Now, they can be obtained and added to your collection by any class without restrictions, making it easier to complete your collection.

Got this to drop the other night (7/28/24) and was surprised for two reasons; I'd forgotten it existed since I only really farm transmog on leather and cloth wearers, and surprised it was triggerable for me as a leather wearer. This dropped for me on my Rogue with the first run of the new Warband system, so it can drop for ALL now under the new system (meaning the actual drop rules changed, not just loot/transmog rules) and can be triggered to enter your transmog, as well. Mine appeared as Warbound so I can transfer it to others, but I'm not sure if this is 100% for all items like this or not.

I can confirm without a doubt that this can now be wielded by a warlock's felguard. It dropped for my shaman, went into the warband bank and then straight into the felguard's hands. I'll submit a photo, too.

I got this sword twice today from LFR. The first one dropped for my warlock (which I wanted the appearance for my felguard) and the second one on my mage. I didn't previously have the appearance and when it dropped for my warlock, I didn't learn it just in case. Once I got it on my mage, I learned the appearance and the sword disappeared from my bag. So if you want the sword for your felguard and the tmog appearance, you'll need to get two of them.

I looted Taeshalach a long time ago and used it immediately for the transmog. Some people are saying that you can only loot a second Taeshalach if you did not consume your first; that if you used it already to add to your transmog collection, you are locked out of looting it ever again.

Can anyone confirm this?

Edit: I've had it confirmed by multiple GMs that Taeshalach will not drop again for an account that has already learned the cosmetic. If you own the Taeshalach transmog and play a Warlock, you can never have Taeshalach on your Felguard unless you loot two Taeshalachs BEFORE learning the transmog.

For those of us who learned the cosmetic before we knew Warbands would become a thing, we're SOL.

This finally dropped for me after 357 attempts. I farmed this on 20 different characters all lvl 70s and a few 80s on LFR, Mythic, Normal, and Herioc. I did get it on LFR with my DK. Very happy with my Felguards new weapon! I started farming beginning of last month so the grind does pay off!

This dropped for me the other day on my Fury Warrior - LFR. Took roughly 280 runs just after Charhound finally dropped.

Easily best Tmog in-game along with the mage tower tints. Blizzard, please re-introduce better looking gear like Legion

Looted on a DK after 137 attempts during collectors bounty. This is most definitely not boosted currently, and will likely be obtainable during Remix soon, but I wanted to get one for my main Warlock first so my Felguard can use it. I was doing all difficulties on all classes, ultimately looted from LFR.

Hi guys, i got a question.

I started farming for all three appearences and i noticed that (i got both scythes, no sword yet.) all of my drops were on the first try of the week on the specific toon.

For example:

I ran LFR on a hunter in a random week and got the blue scythe, another random week, mythic on a druid, red scythe.
But, it was literally their first kill of the week on BOTH. (first kill is different cause you usually get wakening essences per boss)

So, if i'm on a warrior, i ran mythic, heroic and got nothing on both ( and im trying to get the sword ) there's still a chance that i get the sword on Normal or LFR after i've "spent" my first kill already doing mythic and heroic?

I dunno, it might be a coincidence but from my own experience and everyone i talk to, first kill (between all difficulties) of the week when they get it.

Finally! After about a total of 4 to 4.5 months, I finally looted my Taeshalac after 566 attempts between 30+ toons, running LFR, Heroic and Mythic skips. Keep at it yall, it exists, I promise! Happy hunting!

Don't farm it anymore for now it will be available for purchase in Legion Remix! All you'll need to do is complete the raid in normal or harder mode to accumulate the items needed for purchase, but it will be faster than farming it every week for almost 10 years.

This item tooltip on wowhead says binds to warband. does that mean i can get it on any char and mail it to my warlock to keep in bags for felguard to use? Anyone know?

Edit: Just got it on my warrior, and was able to send to my warlock, yay! Now i can buy the mog from remix when its out and learn that for all chars :D

I was excited to learn the appearance so I didn’t think about sending to my Warlock to hold till it was already done. Am I screwed now? No way for my demon to carry one once I’ve learned the mog?

With only 2 weeks left of Legion remix, this may be a moot point, but... For my fellow warlocks still trying to get their hands on this weapon for their felguard--a GM confirmed that despite the raid currently being on a daily lockout due to the event, you still only have 1 chance per character, per difficulty each week. So, that 4 chances per character despite being able to run it daily. That said, don't waste your time farming this throughout the week on the same characters (like I did for longer than I'd care to admit).

Worth noting that any unlearned appearances from Legion Remix (i.e. weapon arsenal appearance for Scythe of the Unmaker & Taeshalach) will carry over to the core game once the event has wrapped up for you to learn at a later date. So, my advice would be to buy them, DO NOT learn them, and keep on farming weekly. Hope this helps someone. Good luck!

I liked the look of Taeshalach on a Demon Warlock Felguard, but it's gone.
