Aggramar was one of the titan Pantheon, and more specifically was Sargeras's lieutenant. The two of them fought the demons across the universe. Aggramar blessed Keeper Tyr on Azeroth and was the titan who discovered Draenor, creating Grond to fight the Sporemounds - meaning he is ultimately the reason that orcs exist. When Sargeras decided that the only way to save the universe from being corrupted by the Void was to destroy everything, Aggramar tried to stop him. In fury and sorrow, Sargeras cleaved Aggramar in two.

In Legion, Sargeras brings Aggramar back as the first of his Dark Pantheon: the titans revived to serve the Legion.

Aggramar has a unique rare drop for transmog in 泰沙拉克. Much like 戒卫之锤 dropped from 戒卫侍女. It is the same sword the boss wields in the encounter.

Always great when Blizz makes some NPC's unique looks available to players, like Garrosh' and Xavius' shoulders.

He's soloable on LFR as long as you're a pet class. Did it pretty easily as an Unholy DK. Just sick your pet on him, stay behind aggramar, and keep healing your ghoul with the crucible of flames essence.

I suspect this would work with any pet class that can heal their pet (hunter etc)

I solo'd the LFR version of this on my arcane mage last night and thought I'd share how. Flame Rend is pretty awful– it's a knockback that, if you're the only one there, is impossible to dodge and will immediately wipe you as it shoots you right off the platform. Aggramar turns to wherever you are when he casts it, and he can cast it multiple times in a row.

How I got through that particular ability was by using Blink and Mirror Image, and trying to kill him as fast as possible while ignoring all other mechanics/damage (120 with 440 ilevel, ymmv). On my successful attempt this is what happened:

First, I blew as much DPS as I possibly could in the very beginning of the fight and he didn't cast Flame Rend at all. (On other attempts he did cast it in the first phase so again, ymmv.) It was after he summoned the flame adds that he finally cast Flame Rend and as soon as I went flying I Blinked and was back on the platform. Then he cast it right away again and I cast Mirror Image and got away from his front as fast as I could and just kept DPSing him down. And then he cast it again but the Mirror Images were still up. Blink is great but it has a 15 second cooldown and I don't know how many times Aggramar can cast Flame Rend in a row but it's at least three. The Mirror Images though do not get knocked off the platform and will hold his attention. For me they held his attention just long enough for me to kill him and get through the encounter. I hope that helps someone else.

In order to not get knocked off the plattform in LFR, you either have to be a pet class (as already mentioned) or must have a minimum DPS of ~50k.

The reason for that is: He gains 3 energy every second. When his energy bar is full he uses Taeshalach Technique. If you get him to ~50% before he uses his ability, the energy bar will reset and you have another ~30 seconds to kill him.

Unholy Death Knights can deal with the Flame Rend mechanic by having their ghoul attack Aggramar and hold his attention, and heal your Ghoul with Death Coil. Just stand and watch your Ghoul, use Apocalypse and Army of the Dead when they are up, if Aggramar is about to aggro you, stop attacking and wait.

Just soloed this boss on Mythic on as BM hunter. It might be possible for other pet classes, my BM is surely the best for it.

Talents: 2 - 2 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1
This isn't necessarily the best setup, it's just what I had when I entered the raid (which I did as MM at first). 血之气息 and 自然治愈 could've been safer choices.
Covenant: Venthyr (shouldn't matter which).
Gear: ilvl 178, minimal enchants, 艾泽拉斯之心 (at level 95) with rank 3 essences - because yes, the HoA and essences still work outside of Shadowlands.
Also used the threat bar provided by ElvUI. Threat is very important on this fight because you want your pet tanking the boss at all times.
I used a 熔岩犬 because of their 掠食者的渴望 and 原始暴怒, though any Ferocity pet should do the job.

I used 原始暴怒 right on pull with 误导 on the pet. Watch your threat meters at all times so that you don't take aggro off him. I was slowing down on damage every time I would get close to 40% threat to be safe. Keep using MD on CD so that you can safely cast a few DPS spells in that short window. The whole reason we don't want aggro on us is that Aggramar uses 泰沙拉克之触 on any melee attacks and it stacks up really fast. This won't affect your pet however.

Try to stay somewhere behind Aggramar at a far distance so that you don't get knockback off the platform by 强化烈焰撕裂 when he reaches 100 energy. At the event where this may happen, you might be able to cancel the knockback with 逃脱, although this may be tricky to do.

During the intermissions where the boss goes immune, this is where you need to blow up the two big 泰沙拉克之焰 adds. Let the small 泰沙拉克的余烬 reach the boss, this will give you one stack of 烈焰喷薄 for each add. This does quite a bit of damage, so make sure you're actively DPSing the big adds so that you leech health off them. If you have a higher DPS than I did, you may want to save them until the small ones reach Aggramar so that you can DPS them instead of the boss for leech (otherwise you might take back the aggro from your pet). No point of saving turtle for the debuff, it will go through it.

Just dodge any other mechanics and the fight should be relatively easy.

It took me 6:56 minutes, about 2 minutes away from enrage, to solo him. I was doing 20.5k DPS and 358 HPS.

EDIT (much later on!): Was able to duo this boss fairly easily with a Shadow Priest friend, both 220+ ilvl, with me as a MM Night Fae instead of BM Venthyr and no Heart of Azeroth equipped. I kept aggro the whole fight, managed to Disengage the only knockback that happened. Was also able to duo Mythic Argus without any real trouble.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but this guy IS soloable, so long as you have something that allows you a "dash" mechanic, such as Soulshape, through the Night Fae Covenant. Once he starts casting his Flame Rend ability, get ready to hit your Soulshape. Once it allows you to dash through, don't hit him (stay shifted). He'll cast again almost immediately. Dash through, then begin dps'ing him down. He'll cast his Flame Rend ability again, and it should have been enough time for your CD to end, and you can repeat the above maneuver. You should be able to kill him after the second one! Hope this helps some other Pally like me!

Just did some testing and it appears that with 9.1.5 Aggramar's 烈焰撕裂 has MUCH weaker Knockback, effectively making it so now he can be soloed regardless of class or covenant. Makes it much easier to farm 泰沙拉克.
