On a protection paladin, pairing this with the
talent sounds amazing!
Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus, is a reference to electronic artist Eric Prydz (notable for his song "Call on Me", released in 2004) and his latest album "Opus".
yeah was looking at this for those off tanking moments or maybe pairing this with ridiculously high stacks of iron fur... Right now been scouring the interwebs to try to find out what Legion's armor cap will be and how diminishing returns will effect Iron Fur stack at 100% per stack. My thinking being it shouldn't be hard to keep 3 stacks up and rolling even without any help from the art. weapon. That being said there are sooo many things now in the guardian druid tool beat that reduce physical damage. Pulverize, thick skin, so on and so forth. Like I said I really need to know how high is too high. I really don't see blizzard making the mistake of letting us bears go immune to damage again.

This is one of two legendaries (the other being
) that can drop for and be used by ANY class.
UPDATE: The latest Beta patch has adjusted many of the passive effects of these legendaries. The following represents the most current in-game data as of August 28/16 (many of the Wowhead tooltips have not been updated yet!)
This is one of the shared legendaries coming in Legion. Most of the new legendary drops will be class specific, while these select "shared" legendaries will be usable by multiple classes. Keep in mind that only legendaries your class can use will drop for you.
At the beginning of Legion, only 1 legendary item can be equipped at a time. Over time, as the expansion progresses this cap will be increased (
Here is some further information about these items:
The legendary items are intended to be used for the entire expansion. They are currently item level 895, and it remains to be seen whether this will change prior to release, or during Legion itself (for comparison, Mythic mode gear from
is iLvl 880).
Thus far, it appears that legendaries will drop from dungeon bosses, raid bosses, PvP Strongboxes, Mythic+ Weekly Caches and World Quest Caches (rewarded after completing 4 world quests).
As it stands, these will be the ONLY sources that will yield legendaries
. Blizzard may expand where they can come from in the future (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,

Legion Live Developer Q & A
While the legendaries are rare drops, they are not fully random - there will be ways to target specific items (
More difficult content will have a higher chance of dropping these items (
It should be nearly impossible to get a duplicate legendary item. (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,
Some level of bad luck streak protection also applies to legendary items (i.e. the chances of you getting a legendary will slowly increase if you don't have one drop). (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,
If the slot for the item is transmoggable, you can transmog these legendaries to other appearances, and vice versa (unlike legendary items from previous expansions) (
Legion legendary procs/effects will be disabled in instanced PvP (
Blizzard plans to institute a "suppression aura" in effect for a certain number of weeks after Mythic raids are available, which would disable any legendary item passive effects (they would still function normally as high-ilvl regular items, with the primary/secondary stats intact).
- As per the latest information, Legion legendaries WILL BE allowed in all raid situations,
INCLUDING Mythic difficulty
. The previously noted "suppression aura" in Mythic will not be implemented. (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,
All legendary bonus effects are passive "Equip" effects (there are no "Use" effects on these items)
All Legion legendaries are Bind-on-Pickup, and
be sold, traded or listed on the Auction House.

Your instant cast spells have a chance to trigger
, making your next cast time spell castable while moving.
Your attacks cause an additional 50% damage as Physical to enemies above 90% health.
Standing still causes you to send deep roots into the ground, healing you for 4% of your maximum health every 3 sec.
Increases your movement speed by 75% of your Haste.
Successfully applying a loss of control effect to an enemy grants you 70% increased movement speed and 15% Haste for 10 sec. This effect may occur once every 30 sec.
After not taking damage for 5 sec, you gain an absorb shield for 25% of your maximum health for 30 sec. This effect may occur once every 30 sec.
Newb Question: Is this a "tanking" neck piece?
I originally thought so but, then again how often can a tank not take any damage for 5 seconds? Perhaps a paladin could or a Discpline priest's shields could help trigger this?
Otherwise, would this be BIS for all dps in legion? What do my wowheaders think?
This is in the loot table for all classes and specs?
Can confirm this drops from world quest chests, my first one on my paladin dropped this beauty. It procs in combat so if you can shield yourself (Artifact talent) or it just dosn't break it will refresh, currently shielding me for almost 400K for 30 seconds with only 805 ilvl.
Received today (9/5/16) on thrall for me. My loot spec was set to Holy, so I can attest it can drop for any specialization, not just tanks. In a way this is amazing (for my play style atleast) since I tend to zone out my own HP while healing the raid/party, and the stats are amazing.
It came from the Daily World quest Cache for Highmountain.
Dropped from a Emissary Quest reward (bag with random stuff in it).
While its ability is amazing for both tanks, dps and healers alike, the absorb shield does tend to get a bit annoying after a while. You will be having a holy bubble around you almost all the time, and every ~30s it'll make a sound.
Dropped for me 10th of September from Val'Sharah World Quest Cache. Outlaw Rogue.
The shield will apply at all times, even out of combat. If it runs the full 30s duration without dropping, it will have around a 5 second pause and it will re-apply again.
Here's some numbers for the tanks out there with this neck.
A tank can expect a shield that absorbs 500-600k +/- in currently available gear.
Darkheart Thicket (Heroic):
Skada: Ystrasa's Healing for Dresaron: 14:43 (1 Min 32 Sec):
Both of these bosses lose focus on the tank for a few seconds at a time during the encounter, allowing the shield to proc again.
Skada: Ystrasa's Healing for Shade of Xavius: 14:47 (1 Min 48 Sec):
Violet Hold (Heroic):
Skada: Ystrasa's Healing for Total: 15:08 (18 Min 41 Sec):
VH allows the shield to be up for most trash groups. Bosses on the other hand does not.
Dropped for me from an emissary chest.
This item now has a socket. Seems to have been hotfixed in on September 14.
The shield granted by this item is from a magical school, so it can be dispelled.
Buff you get from this is
Get used to this sound.
This dropped last night from a Wardens emissary chest. It did have a socket.
The bubble is very nice for melee DPS as it gives us some protection from our own stupidity.
It does constantly expire and renew all the time. No one else in my group seem to hear the noise so it's localized to just you.
I got this drop doing Nithrogg world boss last night. Really a great find. It's my first legendary drop. Also, bonus, it came with a socket.
Got it from last boss in halls of valor mythic :>
Today I dropped it in Maw of Soul +2, how great I feel that I finally have a legendary. How sad I am that, as a rogue, that legendary is just a stat stick, and any other legendary would have been 10000000x times better.
To everyone out there looking for a legendary, don't despair. It will come to you, maybe in the least unexpected way.
Now to enjoy some more weeks without any legendaries because I think I have used a lifetime amount of luck.
EDIT: Fun fact, the day right after, my guildmaster got the same one from Nightfallen chest haha
To disable the sound that the proc makes, you can place an empty file named "
" to your " \World of Warcraft\Sound\Spells " -folder.
Notes for Druids
Tauren form HP: 2.2M
Opus absorb: 416.5k (19%)
Bear form HP: 3.6M
Opus absorb: 677.8k (19%)
Tauren form HP: 1.9M
Opus absorb: 287.1k (15%)
Bear form HP: 2.9M
Opus absorb: 445.0k (15%)
So, it seems this buff is getting scaled by some Guardian effect or something like that, because we get a larger shield than the tooltip states, woot for tanks!
And, for the times when you're not tanking... While it's only producing 15% as stated, the buff lasts 30sec and is based on your health at the time it activates. So, if you ever join a group where I'm healing, you might see this tree turn into a bear every 30sec or so. But, when I go back to being a tree, I'll have an absorb for about 1/4 of my health! Woot for non tanks!
As expected this useles p.o.s. dropped for my tank DK, most likely locking me out of getting a more useful legendary (read: ANY other legendary) for months to come.
Mine was a drop from
Got it today on my havoc demon hunter, is it good for him?
I made a weakaura showing the duration, count up for the 5 seconds, and the amount absorbed left on the shield, all in a small icon. :)
Received today out of the order hall Mythic+ weekly chest. Not the greatest for DPS but I won't complain! Pity timer rolling for next one at least.
This needs to be an aura that lasts until you take damage, and then in 30 seconds (or 25, if you include the 5 second wait time) you get the aura back. This would stop two quick absorbs and the endless resets and be easily understandable.
Got mine last night in my Nightfallen Emissary Cache!
Just got is baby off of quest turn in to Thalyssra in Stormheim - my luck day - ty Blizz!
First i was like "meh" when i got this as my first legendary being a guardian druid, but the more i play the more this thing feels like a beast!
If you can LoS an enemy or otherwise cc them to give yourself 5 seconds of breathing room during a fight you can refresh this as often as you're capable of and can basically topple any challenge as a tank.
Great for single targets but less useful vs large groups and/or very fast hitting enemies.
Sidenote for guardian druids:
This shields benefits greatly from your mastery. With 3700k base hp and about 10k mastery (avg ilevel of 850) i end up with a 760k absorb shield which is nearly 40% more than the 15% the buff claims to give!
However i think the shield might be bugged, it seems to give pre-mastery-nerf healing values because the extra 40% shield is about twice the % my mastery gives.
Got it today from the world boss, spectacularly useless for a prot paladin. Worth mentioning Blizzard are reworking this sometime soon apparently.
Got it today from Il'gynoth, Heart of Corruption on LFR, yes LFR. And i ´m a resto druid, but it´s a legendary so i´m happy. kinda...
I waited 30 Days for a damn legendary and all I GOT WAS THIS PIECE OF CRAP. THANKS BLIZZ THANKS WITH ALL MY HEART
Dropped for my Fire Mage from Nythendra HC yesterday (7.1)
One of the worst Legendary? I don't agree with that. It has plenty of mastery for my BM Hunter and also
the best effect
You won't get dismounted when the shield
This is by far the best effect for open world. I don't know what Blizzard did in Legion but i got mad every time i got dismounted because it happend at almost every mob i crossed. But since i got this legendary it just happens when the shield is down.
With the terrible stats this has it is a downgrade compared to my 850 neckpiece.
A legendary should never be worse than an item 45 ilevels lower than it.
Found a nice use for this: It acts like bubble hearth if weak mobs are attacking you. You can finish your hearth cast before they break through the shield.
Mine dropped today from
as iLvl 910...
another upvote for the empty sound file to maintain sanity, too!
Patch 7.1.5 is on the PTR now, and Prydaz has been buffed to a
25% damage absorb shield that no longer needs 5 seconds of damage avoidance. It also has a new appearance for the shield - and no more sound associated with the shield.
Edit: Now 25% absorb.
Got mine from the High Mountain tribe emissary quest last night. The buff on the PTR makes it look much, much more appealing. It was a nice upgrade for my resto shamwow.
After doing every Emissary quest since Legion released, I finally got this as my first legendary! Reading through the comments, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing..
Hello guys. So this dropped for me on Ursoc HC mode. As a Paladin I would think that i have all kinds of shields now. Really not missing any shield spell in the game. lol Very lovely idd
Anyways the next day i made little research on WHAT is this item!. And here is what i came up with as written by Chris Kennedy - November 7, 2016 "Video game music is a genre in its own, well influenced by electronic forms of music production. From the point of view of electronic music producers, video game music has offered influence in return with a plethora of sample-packed tunes. Artists such as Porter Robinson, Eric Prydz, and Deadmau5 are very vocal about their love for video games and the noises that inhabit them.
As an homage to dj’s with a passion for video games, the creators of World of Warcraft have released an update with pieces of armor named after famous tracks from the respective artists. A necklace called “Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus” and spaulders called “Unison Spaulders” are among these pieces included in the update. The comments for the Prydaz necklace sum up the entire vibe of Eric Prydz’ popular track “Opus” with a simple sentence stating “Bearers of this amulet whistle a haunting tune, and those nearby attest to a distant cry of anguish between the notes.”"
So I thought this is very cool really.
Magnum Opus is the name of the Mad Max's car.
I'm crying in anguish over the bubble proc sound every 35 seconds, and the Crit on this thing isn't making me feel any better about putting it on my Prot Warrior.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Onyx1831##DELIM##Keep your language PG13.
Very serious question: has anyone received this or any of the of the other non-class specific legendaries while their loot spec was set not to "current" but to the specific spec they wanted loot for?
I ask because someone is saying that this and other non-class specific legos won't drop if you've specified a certain spec...
Have to say to the prot paladins who think this is dire, so stats not brilliant, well crit=parry so can't hurt. However the shield generated by bulwark of order is consumed first before the opus, which gives you the 5 second pause with no damage to allow it to re-proc, grab yourself a discipline priest buddy and the shield is almost always available, meaning your almost always walk into a fight/pull with over 1.5 million bonus hp... SoTR extends the durability of the shield quite nicely.
Just got this about an hour ago and was happy. First orange ever so it was cool. I ran to the ah and spent about 10k to gen it and such. Then I see all these people saying how it sucks. I figure, "What do they know? Should be good for pvp."
Then I get in the battle ground and look at it and the Equip is all greyed out.
So the big thing it does doesn't even work in the BG.
Just got this out of a Court Emissary Cache. Does anyone know if this stacks or replaces the Lock Soul Link shield? I also have the
Dropped today from random battleground after victory. So can be dropped from anywhere it seems :D Thou i think its pretty useless for retri pala. And i allready have 2 better legendary
And now with an embarrassing new visual. Great.
Blizzard, please get rid of the soap bubble effect introduced in 7.1.5 for this item. Your designers have worked very hard to generate very cool looks for all the equipment I have, but I can't appreciate their work and how cool my equipment looks because I keep getting distracted by this stupid soap bubble. I'm running around in it all day long. Everywhere I go. Everything I do. With no way to turn it off (short of not using my legendary). I don't want to play the game in any more of a bubble than I'm already in. Please get rid of the effect. Please. I'm begging ya.
This dropped so I quit wow. After getting Sephuz's Secret aswell its not even funny. Blizzard really screwed up putting these worthless non-legendaries in to unfairly wipe out any "bad luck protection" you might have built up.
Anyone know what causes the rainbow and rune visual? Had it happen to me when world questing this morning:
It seems as of the 7.1.5 update for Guardian Druids that the shield is still capped at 15% and not 25%; what a shame. We need 1.6mil shields!
Versatility should be added to this, for classes specs that benefit more with this stat.
Prydaz is quite overbudgeted for its item level ever since patch 7.1.5, having roughly 4485 total secondaries at ilevel 940. By contrast, a usual ilevel 940 necklace has 3739 secondaries. This gives Prydaz DPS value and in some cases this will outperform undertuned legendaries DPS-wise (
The name is a reference to Swedish recording artist Eric Prydz (Pryda) and his debut studio album Opus.
Probably explains the random light show that appears from tiime to time since 7.1.5
Credit to Ganker on MMO Champion for the information.
This is the best common legendary for tanks. With 5 mil. base health shield will give you roughly 750k absorption, and that's every 30 seconds! According to Skada, this thing makes up to 40% of my healing as VDH, with 30% on average, which is a lot, considering that DHs have other self-heals. For DPS it also boosts your survivability, with 2.6 mil health it will give you additional 650k, which may help you to survive big hits of unavoidable damage in heroic/mythic raids and high level M+ dungeons.
As a Vengeance/Prot I totally want this legendary. ;)
Weak But I Still Love mine got mine from a world boss Sar'thos I think.
For classes with temporary health boosts like last stand you can boost this shield every now and then if you use your health increase before it will be refreshed. I get a 1m health shield on my prot warrior but if I use last stand it increases to 1.7m for the duration of one buff every 3 min. In the grand scheme of things it's not a lot but sometimes every little bit helps.
They claim that this item refers to a satyr named Xavaric.
" He is the name sake of , which refers to the Flute made from the ancient protector. "
Just got this on my ret pally, ilevel 970. I'm a solo player so the bubble is a welcome addition to my survivability.
Hate the look though, looks like I'm in a Disney movie stuck in some soap bubble. Even worse when mounted.
FYI, This posted tool tip is incorrect. When you upgrade this piece the shield remains 15%, not 25% as posted. So, wasted the first upgrade thinking it was 25%.
, it grants a shield for
of your maximum health.
, it grants a shield for
of your maximum health.
I got mine from Elisande. Why is it not listed on drop list?
Should really add all Legion bosses to the list because they all drop it.
So anybody know the chance of getting one of these from one of those random loot chests that are dotted around the world? Because I just got one from there.
this lego has completely and utterly eluded me or any of my alts..yet i still see way too many people running around with it, as if its better than sliced bread...in some way i am happy this thing has eluded me, because i look at it simply..if you need the bubble...learn to play and you wont need it..and can use a far far better lego bis, this is not a swipe at anyone, just my thinking.
Its definitely reference to
and his track
. Xavaric => Eric. Just read the description
"Bearers of this amulet whistle a haunting tune, and those nearby attest to a distant cry of anguish between the notes."
And then listen this
One of the benefits of this legendary that I haven't seen mentioned much is that the bubble allows you to ride past mobs without fear that the will dismount you. It protects you from being hit, so you just keep on riding.
Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus is a reference to the song "Opus" by Eric Prydz.
Since 8.0 this seems to be bugged on my Vengeance DH.
She has 42khp, and is only getting a 7k shield.
It should be giving me at least 10.5k, and that's without versatility factored into it.
It's working perfectly fine on my Brewmaster Monk, however.
I got mine from a .
This is seeming like the best legendary for the Time walking Mage tower. I know people used to hate on it in the past, but a neck with a socket, good stats and can use the satyr enchant is pretty great.
