Cooking in Warlords is much more straightforward than in Mists of Pandaria.

Warlords of Draenor food increases secondary stats, instead of primary stats (Agility, Intellect, Strength).

There are two tiers of food in Warlords of Draenor. The lower-level food gives 75 of a secondary stat, and the higher-quality food gives 100 of a secondary stat.

Based on your cooking skill, you can create more servings of a recipe as you cook it.

All Draenor food can be discovered and cooked at skill level 1, providing an easy way to catch up leveling cooking. A "Recipe idea" has a chance to appear in your inventory for a dish you have not yet learned. Click on the "Recipe Idea" scroll to learn it.

Tasting a particular dish can grant you the recipe idea for that dish as well.

Glad to see cooking has been simplified. Mists' direction was interesting, but it kinda killed the joy in cooking for me. This looks much more up my alley.

is it just me or the buff is lower than the one of pandaria food buff.to clarify,pandaria feast give 250-275 to your most usefull stats while these give 50 !i'm not sure to understand,these aren't suppose to go up from an expansion to another instead of going down?

Why the simplification, though? MoP wasn't that complex, but it was miles better than what it used to be, and this just takes it right back to just another boring profession.

i like this they simplified this very well, i like that they added the use of herbs most likly for seasoning, i find it intresting that you can learn recipies by taseing food.

I loved the complexity of MoP cooking, used to it was just bland and boring. Everyone made the same thing and the lack of variety was heartbreaking. When Mist hit holy crap I fell in love with cooking, so many different ways to explore and try out. I loved the idea of just taking a piece of notebook paper and writing down what I needed for which recipe and what I needed to grow on which character...now it looks like its back to boring cooking again, they killed. Though Jewel Crafters get a double whammy to profession complexity loss, primary and secondary ones.

For speed of leveling 1-510, use the Pandaren cooking level up. Most of the ingredients can be purchased on the spot, and there is only a small amount of Pandaren fishing required (30ish golden carp). Or, you can level through those recipes with ~30 WoD fish/meat.

Leveling 1-510 in WoD requires 510 fish and meat to accomplish, and you end up with trash food unless you use the more expensive harder to farm fish and meat.

Post 510, switch to WoD leveling, and cook the stat recipes that you will want for raiding or to sell.

I wonder why they have the best cooking come from the barn. It's a feast, so maybe most people will still want to buy the 75 stat food instead. Kinda weird that you won't use the profession for the highest end product.

I don't understand why anyone would use any of the WoD foods for a 75 point increase in a secondary stat when they can use a MoP food and gain a 300 point increase in a primary stat. I'm sure you will need food to heal yourself between fights and will need better basic foods, but for the 'well fed' increases, I don't see the purpose of any of the foods in the expansion. What am I missing?

With the noodle carts from Pandaria that are already learned and are still orange, how much higher can you level with those once the Xpac comes?

This looks worse than MoP for vast quantities of mats needed for max level individual serving food..

Mop: 1 "spice" 5 fish, 5 meat, 25 vegetable. = 36 items total.

WoD: 1 herb., 50 fish, 25 meat, = 76 items total.

Add to this the complexity of having to cook two starter items first, with variable output, then combining them into the final. Fortunately, with 200 reagent stacking, I won't be filling up my bags preparing for a cooking session.
It may take less time though, since I'm no longer gated by the daily farm output.

Legion Chili, +100 to a Stat. I bought it on the AH for 75g (WH says goes for around 125g) Says nothing about learning from tasting. It's a RARE Garrison reward from a Follower Mission, "The Burning Crusade." Costs 10 Resources to buy the mission, and takes 4 hours to complete.

I'm a tad lost in how to learn new recipes. The guide says we can taste a dish and have a chance to learn it. But, how do you taste it if you can't make it? I know someone is going to say, buy it on the ah, however, the person who puts in on the ah had to have tasted it somewhere to have learned it. Where? Another way is tasting one dish may give you an idea for another dish and it will pop in your bags. I've tried tasting the two dishes we're able to make and so far, nothing new has come into my bags. I'm assuming that means like the profession drop in the world, the cooking recipes will drop when we eat something. Anyone have a list as to what foods are better at dropping these ideas?

Just go out and get the 100 of each enormous fish for the fishing achievement then cook you will be level 700 in about 6 hours or so like I was and got Nat Pagle in my garrison

Shame there is no cooking themed building for your garrison. Lots of hungry followers need a decent canteen and pub. I really want a farm instead of a herb garden.

It would be a chance to add flavour(!) to your garrison.

I miss my farm from Pandaria with the chickens running around and growing proper vegetables instead of herbs and flowers. It would be great to send a follower out to collect some eggs, milk a cow, dig up some veggies, etc.

I don't mind making it easier/simpler to create the best stat food for people into raiding, etc. I want complex recipes and lots of ingredients like in MoP to make the game more fun for me.

It is a very meat/fish rich diet we are on in Draenor. Nothing for the vegetarians.
With this protein rich diet I'm glad my garrison's outhouse is outside the walls!

As of 6.0.3 Live build 19243, the in-game tooltip for 大份雷象肉排 and 清蒸蝎子 indicate 112 stamina, but the 进食充分 buff you get actually gives only 75 stamina (as shown by the in-game tooltip and character sheet - the wowhead data for the Well Fed tooltip is wrong). You have to actually log-in and eat this food to see the discrepancy.

Not sure if the live behavior is intended or a bug (and I'd really like to know the answer to this), however in any case there is a tooltip inconsistency on live, and the wowhead data definitely appears to be stale relative to live.

Interestingly, 塔拉多海陆大餐 appears to be fully correct and consistent on live and wowhead, awarding +150 stamina as it presumably should. It's only the "lower" 112 stamina food that appears to be buggy/inconsistent.

The last recipe idea will just not pop up.

So, I've been cooking like crazy. I've learned recipes at a decent pace. First very quickly and once I already knew lots of recipes the "ideas" came more slowly to me.

I've been cooking upwards of 300 food since the last recipe (possibly even 500).
I also tried buying the food of the AH and eating it. That didn't help either.

Am I just very unlucky or could this be a bug?

Have others also experienced this?

Agree. So recipes are invented in the future (MoP, cata, wrath...)? The architects (but not the cooks) must have been ahead of their time. So many followers and none with cooking skills. If a kitchen/cookhouse is added it should be treated like the mine/pond/herb garden.

I didn't get the eat & learn or cook & intuit method. Hated the ugly fish of Draenor and the lengthy dull fishing quests. So I went to Pandaria and was really impressed by the MoP cooking and fishing quest lines. Liked having to source the food (hunt&fish or farm) and sell to the wholesaler. IMO Nat's raft is one of the most original forms of transportation ever. Just wish I could stash it on my mounts tab.

As the new +125 recipes from 6.1 arent named Recipe Idea: <Blah>, I'm assuming they arent learnt through discoveries. Anyone found the source for those recipes yet?

You can buy the new 125+ stat food recipes from the <Food & Drink> vendor located at your Garrison.

If you are Horde the vendor is Kraank inside your Garrison.
If you are Alliance the vendor is Arsenio Zerep and he wanders outside your Garrison.

the 10point boost from the apron/frying pan/rolling pin finally has a use.
Also helps with the 125 food.
