Elixirs - typically last for an extended period of time, most commonly increasing a player’s secondary stats. An example of a popular elixir in WoW Classic is 貓鼬藥劑. When you die, you lose this buff.

Potions - usually a quick burst of some type of buff that has an instant or limited uptime. 極效治療藥水 and 極效法力藥水 are great examples, as well as 有限無敵藥水. Great for both PvE and PvP. You can use potions repeatedly over the course of a fight, as they have short cooldowns.

Flasks - powerful buffs that last longer, with their effect persisting through death. Usually require more rare materials like 黑蓮花 and encouraged use is for raiding. Examples include 泰坦精煉藥劑 and 智慧精煉藥劑. Flasks in WoW Classic can only be created through Alchemy Labs.

Transmutes - the ability to transform two materials into a powerful item, with typically a 24 hour cool down. Must be learned through recipes such as 配方：轉化奧金, which in turn, allows you to 轉化：奧金. 奧金錠 is very powerful, needed for iconic items like 雷霆之怒，逐風者的祝福之刃 and 夜暮.

Oils - usually made from fish from Fishing, and a reagent needed for other Alchemy items like 黑口魚油.

石化藥水 - Random World Drop. Not commonly used, but has niche uses as it protects the player from all attacks for one minute. Tanks can use it if their healers are out of mana, or a boss is about to enrage, a tank can pop this flask and buy some extra time for the rest of your raid.

Fantastic guide! Short and to the point. Personally, I would have liked to have seen the skill level requirements next to each trainable potion so I could estimate how much additional time I would have to spend leveling herbalism alongside Alchemy during the leveling process of a new account.

I'll gather that information myself and put it alongside the guide anyways, just would be neat to add it for all those who won't take the extra effort.

This guide is incorrect. Dr. Marsh is the Expert trainer in Undercity. The one you have listed as the Expert is an Artisan trainer. It also mentions Enchanting skill.

One trivial suggestion:

I overlooked the initial discussion that mentioned "You can train Artisan Alchemy from at level 35 with 200 Alchemy Skill." - My suggestion would be adding a "Player level 35 required" in the middle of the guide next to the part that says...

If you are finding Briarthorn prohibitively expensive on your Classic server like I did (or you just want to sale it while it's hot if picking yourself) a great alternative might be to do Blackmouth Oil into Elixir of Water Breathing instead.

I was able to buy stacks of Oily Blackmouth for little more than what a single Briarthorn cost. Also, the Water Breathing elixirs actually sale - and on my server make about a 10silver profit when its normally unheard of that a leveling recipe makes profit.

Correction - Lesser Healing potion doesn't require a vial. Just a Minor Healing potion and a Briarthorn.

Is there really no way to just... look at a list of potions that are taught, and at what skill level... and make my own decision?
It's a great guide, I just literally cant find the old pages that JUST had the recipes, for any trade skills. Is this gone?

Why does this guide say you can learn alchemy at first level? That's never been true in vanilla/classic WoW..you need to be level five.

This guide is terrible. Arthas Tears is a 25-30s herb, while Goldthorn is around 40s and Sungrass is 75s.

Yet the guide tells you to abandon Elixir of undead detection the moment you unlock agility. Which costs four times as much to make.

You'd be far better off riding elixir of UD for 10 more skill points here, preserving the more valuable Goldthorn and Sungrass, and this is by far not the only part of the route to 300 in that guide where you burn expensive reagents just because the cheap recipe just turned yellow.

Arthas Tears are a junk herb of almost no use, that is why they will always be dirt cheap and why you should ride junk herbs to raise your skill rather than expensive herbs with multiple uses I should not have to explain.

60-110 is wildly inaccurate

due to how cheap peacebloom/silverleaf is, i always pick up an extra stack of each and make 80 of the first potion instead of 60. this usualy gets me to 70-75 skill. from there with 20 extra potions, it takes another 60 or so casts of lesser healing potion to reach 110. you need a lot more briarthorn than what the guide says

Would love it if the list of trainers actually had some context to it, the level they trained etc. WoWhead guides are very quickly becoming the new Icy Veins in terms of where not to go.

Crafting leveling guides generally try to point you to recipes that use cheap and easily obtainable mats. But what they generally leave out is that you should also be looking for recipes to craft items at a profit. Because they provide skill points that are at least free, you should try to max out the skill points on profitable items regardless of what the guide says. And after you have maxed out your skill points on that item, keep crafting and selling them to make gold to pay for leveling the rest of your profession and your character. By the time you get to your max profession level you should have a group of profitable recipes to help fund your adventures.

{Classic WOW} I just traveled from TB to Stonard to get my Expert Alchemy Training. I'm lvl 36 and 150/150 in Alchemy skill. I can confirm that the very warm and inviting Rogvar does not teach Expert Alchemy as indicated on various WOW forums. Allegedly if he did, another site reported it would cost 50 S.
