This quest from what i've gathered is basicly for the recipe for the Brute force potion. or to get a few potions, food, or water without having to pay for it. i was lucky and got the recipe on my first turn in and sent it to our guild alchamist who had tried about 20 times with failing attempts...

Still it is a good quest overall for u are questing in that place for four lvl or so . So just to get free stuff and not bad xp is good b/w quests for other things. Free stuff for nothing :>D

I would recommend farming for the Brute Force recipe only if the following are true: 1) You are using the gatherer mod, and 2) you are an Herbalist or and Herbalist / Miner.

The reason for (1) is that you can adjust the gatherer settings to display the Bloodpetal Sprouts on your minimap and then quickly run from one sprout to the next. By playing "connect the dots" so to speak you can easily get a good 60 sprouts one time around the crater, and by the time you've reached the beginning of your route again they'll have respawned already, unless of course someone else is picking them ;-).

The reason for (2) is because the drop rate of the recipe is very low, which means more likely than not it will take you a looooooong time to get it. So don't spend your time in Un'goro just farming bloodpetal sprouts--pick some flowers, mine some veins, etc. There's lots of good stuff out there. Herbalists can rake in lots of Sungrass, Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, and Mountain Silversage. Miners can get Mithril Ore and Thorium Veins. Combine what you harvest with pots from the quest, and you can make a decent chunck of change from the auction house.

As for probabilities of getting the recipe, it is more likely than not that you will have to turn the quest in at least 39 times or so to get it. If you get it in less than that, congratulations, you got lucky, and I hate you. If it has taken you more than that, sorry to break it for you, but the probability gods are against you.

And to the guy who has turned it in 85 or so, hate to break it to you, but 4 out of five people who have turned in that many would have gotten it already. You're the odd man out ;-)

I got the recipe trained for like 1.5g at alchemy 270 I think in feralas....

I've turned in 20+ sets of Bloodpetal Sprouts.
I have more Morning Glory Dew, Roasted Quail, Alterac Swiss, and Homemade Cherry Pie than I can drink/eat, as well as enough Superior Healing potions that I can embalm myself, but still no recipe for Elixir of Brute Force.

The food is good if you have pets that can eat meat or cheese (I'm not sure what the Cherry Pie is considered), and the potions sell OK, but trying to get the recipe is a real drag.

If you're one of the ones that gets it on the first turn in, then I hate you. Please understand that that last comment was made from sheer frustration.
Hate is such a strong word, but I would really really really be disgusted with your luck (or rather with the lack of my own.)
