Spell description is borked? A nice spell overall, though I personally think that a 10 second haste is too short for a 3 minute cooldown.

This ability really makes a difference when you combine it with rogue's Blade Flurry and others.

My troll rogue reached 230dps main hand white damage (not including abilities, only 'white' damage, not including damage by offhand weapon) when I used Berserking, Blade Flurry, and my Eskhandar's Right Claw proc'd.

My rogue only had two epics at the time. Very very useful!

Very useful skill to have for ALL classes.

Healers: Useful in raids for final stages of bosses such as onyxia, where the increased healing speed really matters. Imagine flash heals at 70% speed!

DPS Melee: Obvious why this skill is great in this genre. Especially for rogues and hunters, use this in any situation, and you are going to see a fairly great boost in your DPS. Try to save as a final blow when you are low on health, especially if the enemy is low and competing.

DPS Ranged: Mages don't be discouraged! This skill is still very useful for that final boost in dps, even if it only works for a short period of time.

Suggested for those who love damage over survivability.

As a mage use it early to stack those imp scorches or winter's chills, only a 3 min CD, most raid bosses you'll use it again near the end.

unlike most racials, this costs mana
i have forgot that fact a few times and it happens to me alot that i am low on mana and want to cast something, i look at the icon and see i have enough mana, but i want to cast it faster so o cast breserking and now i dont have enough mana to do the skill i wanted to do

so just keep that in mind unless you are a rouge or a warrior :)

Increases your attack speed by 10% to 30%. At full health the speed increase is 10% with a greater effect up to 30% if you are badly hurt when you activate Berserking. Lasts 10 sec.

As a troll resto shaman, I can say this is my favorite arena spell. It does not affect the global cooldown, and has saved the match on the number of occasions. People argue that troll racials are the weakest, but in the arena this baby can shine.

Pretty neat on a sub rogue, someone thinks they've got ya just where they want ya then you pop this and start shredding! This extra boost + cheat death can make a huge difference.

Very nice for a pve rogue. My general tactic is to pop this alongside blade flurry - coupled with SnD (the effects seem to stack nicely, correct me if I'm wrong though) my offhand speed is reduced to a second, or less than. Couple these two skills with Adrenaline Rush and you're laughing.

Berserking now increases your attack speed by 20% for 10 sec and isn't affected by your % of health anymore. This change will probably come with 3.2, which will make trolls more attractive as far as racials go.

The question is: Is this like the original version and effects both melee, ranged, and casting haste, or is it melee only? It is hard to tell by the wording, compared to how it was originally worded, and I can't seem to find evidence that supports either possibility.

While my trollish Mage with 348 haste rating (10.61% haste) using Berserking and Icy Veins (also 20% haste) together my Frostbolts only get reduced down to 1.44 second casts and not the full 50% I should receive.

You are correct that using portal is probably the best way to prove the effectiveness of berserking on spell casting, but I think you are misinterpreting how haste is supposed to work for spells. 50% haste means you get 50% more casts within the time period, not that you cast spells 50% faster. Indeed, 1.44 is the proper cast time for a frost mage's frostbolt.

Here is the formula: Final Cast Time = Base Cast Time / = 2.3/ = 2.3/1.593 = 1.44.

Rogue Raider POV:

Strictly speaking, +20% attack speed while Adrenaline Rush+Blade Flurry is popped up (incl SnD), is a lot better than +322 AP every 2 minutes that you`d get from an Orc`s Blood Fury.

Orcs also get a +5 expertise bonus on Axes, which is of marginal value to a Combat Rogue and of no value to a Mutilate Rogue.

Imagine Bloodlust+SnD+BF+AR+Haste Pot+Berserking. The word `blender` comes to mind.

Whenever a damaging attack is taken that reduces you below 35% health, you have a 100% chance to increase your attack and casting speed by 30% for 10 sec. 3m cooldown.

It does NOT hasten the GCD for casters. GCD can only go as low as 1 second with any kind of haste effect. To test this you can run:
/run hooksecurefunc("CooldownFrame_SetTimer", function(_, start, duration, enable) if start > 0 and enable > 0 then DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(duration) end end)

Try to cast anything and it will display your cooldown. I ran some tests myself and managed to get 3771 haste equivalence. I combat logged and never managed to get a 1.5 base spell cast to go off quicker than 1s

I don't think that's the case (someone please correct/downrate me if I'm wrong), your passive haste and extra haste effects are calculated seperately, so with berserking you would have

Black Magic Proc- 250 Haste
Eng Gloves- 340 Haste
Totem Proc- 220 Haste
Bloodlust- 30% Haste (65.58 Haste)
Berserking- 20% Haste (36.43 Haste)
Passive haste from gems/gear- 986
1966 (Rounded Up) Haste from everything. Math may be wrong, just added it up in my head rq.

32.79 haste rating = 1% haste
20 x 32.79 = 655.80
10 seconds / 180 seconds = 1/18

655.80 / 18 = 36.43 For Berserking
Used same math equation for bloodlust. so:
32.79=1%
30x32.79=983.7
Bloodlust=40/600 =15
65.58 haste

To be honest this is probably the best PvE racial for most damage and healing specs. Why? It simply scales the best with gear a percentage is much more beneficial at higher gear levels than a numeric value.

As of 4.0.3a, this racial shares a cooldown with Elemental Mastery from Elemental Shaman.

EDIT: This has now been fixed and no longer shares a cooldown.

Just to lazy to make the calculations myself so i ask here.
I have played my hunter since vanilla and he has always been a proud Orc. Just wondering if the Berserking is better then the Orc Racial Blood Fury in the terms of dps increase. I do love haste since it replenish focus faster and reduce the cast time etc. If someone can tell me if its worth changing or not it will be most appreciated.

Considering this is no longer a haste buff and that it is the only Horde racial with more than 2 min CD (Gift of the Naruu is the other one if you were curious).

Heres the formula: (10 sec duration / 180 CD) x 20 percent increase

10/180 =0.0555555555555556
0.0555555555555556 x 20 = 1.111111111111111

Goblins got the same ammount of increased speed as a passive and they still have rocket jump/barrage as an active racial.

While other racials got buffed (Tauren can now stomp in feral forms, EMFH is on 2 min again to match pvp trinket, Darkflight is off GCD and reduced CD to 2 min, Escape artist got cd reduction to 1.5 min) this one being already weak is staying the same.

I know the incoming arguments will be: OMGWTFNOOB THIS IS PVP SAUCEOMENESS!1111one
While it is indeed a good pvp racial, truth be told, crowd control is the bread and butter of pvp so chances are you will enjoy around half the duration of the buff on most scenarios.

Berserking is pretty weak as of patch 4.0.6.

Troll warlocks are new to the scene, and I can confirm that this stacks with Demon Soul (Felgaurd), giving you a quite substantial 35% haste boost.

It also continently shares the same cooldown as Demon Soul, so making a macro that casts both is essential for new Troll Warlocks!

It's only ahead of Time is Money if you use it right at the beginning of the fight and on every cooldown; also the fight length needs to be a multiple of 3 minutes. If the fight length is not within ± 11 seconds of a 3 minute multiple, then Time is Money is ahead by every second after 11 until the next activation.
There are two things you're missing.

First of all, you have completely ignored is the fact you can stack this with other dps cooldowns. (The extra dps you would get out of this by stacking it with cooldowns is dependent on gear, class, spec, ect...)

Secondly, it will give you an average of ~~1.11%~~ 0.83% haste over a three minute intervals, therefore if the fights are not in three minute intervals this effect will be even greater.
For example, lets say there is a 3minute and 10 second fight (so the effect is very evident) in which you use Berserking exactly when the fight begins and exactly as it comes off cooldown. That's ~~20%~~ 15% haste for 20 seconds in a 190 second fight.
~~(0.2*20)/190 = 0.02105~~ (0.15*20)/190 = 0.01579
The end result is an average of 2.1% 1.58% haste.
If used on cooldown since the start of an encounter the range of average haste over the encounter can be as high as 15% and no lower than 0.83%.

I guess that is extremely powerfull ability for classes who use primarily DoTs for damage (warlocks, shadow priests and druids a little)

For example. If you are a frost-mage you activating Berserk and casting frostbolts. You gain a bonus to your frostbolts. In another case you are an affliction-warlock and you place DoTs and THAN casting a Shadow bolts you gain a bonus to your DoTs AND direct-damage TOO at the right time! As a druid you gain bonus to your moofire/insect AND direct damage.

The second reason is you can activate this ability AFTER you place dots and they whatever will do more damage! For the abilities (like orcs racial) what needs to be activated before place dots you can get the situation when after activating you will be controlled, or need to run away or something else happened and that's mean you lost your bonus.

This used to be a spell or attack speed buff. In 5.x it changed to a flat Haste buff, thus affecting resource regeneration, hot/dot ticks, global cd, etc. It is also exponential I believe as haste increases more than 20% when used.

This racial is AMAZING now.

compare Troll, Orc and Human Racial for PvP:

Berserking: 20% Haste (8,500 Haste @ L90) for 10 sec every 3 Min (=472.2 Haste).
Blood Fury: 2,257 Spell Power or 4,514 Attack Power for 15 sec every 2 Min (=282.1 Spell Power or 564.3 Attack Power).
having Every Man for Himself, means Human will NOT wearing Medallion, alternatives give:

Battlemaster: 42,617 maximum Health for 15 sec every 2 Min.
Badge: trade 1,152 Mastery, Critical Strike or Spirit for 1,152 PvP Power, and 4,236 Spell Power, Agility or Strength for 20 sec every 2 Min (=706 Spell Power, Agility or Strength).
Insignia: trade 1,152 Mastery, Critical Strike or Spirit for 1,152 PvP Power, and 2,989 Spell Power, Agility or Strength for 20 sec trigger about every 1 Min (=996.3 Spell Power, Agility or Strength).
