Stage One: Kill the Intruders!

Curse of Blood – High Priestess Azil curses a random enemy player, increasing the player's Physical damage taken by 1000 for 15 sec.
Force Grip – High Priestess Azil traps her current enemy target in a field of energy for 5 sec, repeatedly lifting them up and then slamming them into the ground. Each time the target is slammed into the ground, they are dealt 4042 to 4250 Physical damage.
Gravity Well – High Priestess Azil summons a Gravity Well at the location of a random player. After 3 seconds, the Gravity Well fully forms and will then pull any nearby target within 10 yards of the well's center towards it. A Gravity Well will also inflict Shadow damage every 0.5 second to any target within the well. The damage inflicted is increased the closer the target is to the center of the Gravity Well. Gravity Wells have a duration of 20 seconds.
In Heroic Difficulty a Gravity Well no longer has a set duration. If a Gravity Well kills a unit, they shrink in size by 25%. So after killing 4 units, they disappear.
Devout Follower – Devout Followers rush to help High Priestess Azil during the fight. These creatures have very low health.

Stage Two: Feel the Fury of Earth!

High Priestess Azil begins this stage by casting Energy Shield, then she hovers up to her altar where she will cast Seismic Shard three times. After finishing casting the Seismic Shard spells, she returns to the ground. Many more Devout Followers rush to help Azil during this stage.

This was probably the most interesting encounter in the entire dungeon. Although not as visually impressive as the other three, what she lacks in sight, she makes up for with spells. Tons of AoE-able cultists will come frequently during the fight, because nothing makes a DPS happier than lots of numbers. Except for lots of big numbers, and she provides you with a chance to see that here. She will summon something like black holes on the ground that pull everything except for the boss inside them, causing some damage. The awesome part here is that you can use those to watch dozens of weak cultists get sucked in and killed almost instantly! Azil will enter a second phase 3-4 times during the fight, flying to her podium, becoming invulnerable, and tossing massive boulders at you, while summoning even more cannon fodder cultists. I believe you had to use those boulders to break LoS with the boss during some bad (but not fatal) spell she casts at the end of that phase of hers. And the process repeats a few times.

Apparently with the HUGE recent AoE nerf, the adds are very, very hard to kill and the "Black Hole" as we've come to call it does nearly no damage. >:| The only way we've been able to kill the adds is to stick a frost trap on the black hole so that the adds stay in there long enough to die, which is about 3-5 seconds. We then run into the issue that the black hole knocks people out of it, as well as the adds. ALSO the black hole despawns too quickly and we're still stuck with 10-30 adds that didn't die from it in the first place as well as the new spawns.

This was a group made up of an 85 Hunter, 85 Warrior (Tank), 82 Retadin, 83 Lock and 83 Priest.

- dps always must interrupt Force Grip, else tank cant pick up the adds which beat on the healer
- healer should run behind Black Holes because they will slow the adds and tank/dps can pick them up easier
- dps should wait till the tank has picked up the big add groups, else they might get killed

her seismic shard is not very dangerous at all, you can easily dodge it.

But periodically the fight will get really hectic by amount of the gravity well spawned + adds + the seismic shard becomes very hard to spot when your grp is focusing on adds.

I suggest to pre-plan your grp positioning so you can stack GW next to each other so you won't have much trouble moving around SS while burning down adds
edit! : adds are affected by GW slow. You can stack GW where you first came to her, it makes the job much easier.

Other than that, its a pretty challenging fight.

If you kill her when she's on top of her altar, there's a chance her body will fall through the texture and you won't be able to loot it.

So if possible, wait till she's off of it to deal the killing blow.

NORMAL MODE:

She begins the fight by jumping off of her stage and onto the ground. Both times I did this fight, she immediately began with Force Grip. DPS must interrupt this immediately, or the tank cannot generate any threat and when the tank is tossed away she will run rampant.

DPS should watch carefully for Force Grip - she casts it very frequently.

She will also spawn "Gravity Well" which will suck in both players and adds. It kills the adds instantly, and does damage to players. Avoid standing near them. In addition, the tank should stand with their back away from Gravity Wells, so when Force Grip is stopped they aren't knocked into one.

Throughout the fight adds will stream in from the back. They only have 10K health, and are easily killed. If your DPS has enough burst, they do not even need to be tanked.

During the fight, she will fly up onto her stage and throw boulders at you. Simply dodge the boulders and kill the adds that continue to stream in.

Rinse, repeat. Very easy boss.

If you kill her while she's on the platform and her body falls through, which seems to be a repeated issue, try this:

If you stand on the back side of the altar towards the right a little bit, zoom your camera out just beyond the edge of the platform and aim it so you're viewing your character from the Right side of the platform. Drop your camera down to the ground and then slowly drag it across the top of the platform the altar sits on, your camera will somewhat pass through the surface of the platform, allowing you to see beneath it and subsequently loot her otherwise inaccessible corpse.

You can try this if you dont feel like waiting around for a GM and want your loot... Takes a couple mins to figure it out completely but easily repeated in seconds once you do.

Easier method to looting her dead body under the podium.

You can manually target her using a "/tar high". Then there IS a keybind in the options for "interact with target". Bind it to something, and with her targeted press the new keybind for your interact and voila, you loot her. You will prolly have to be standing on top of where she died, so you may have to move around a bit to be close enough.

Did this today during my run and worked like a charm.

Done this on heroic today, can't say if it's much different on normal though (had not done it at all before).

She frequently casts Force Grip, which can be interrupted. So interrupt it!
She will sometimes cast Curse of Blood, which needs to be decursed. If you have the curse and get hit by a few adds that recently spawned, you'll die in a few hits (a few more if you're the tank, but you'll die too if not decursed).
When she gets her shield and flies up, she will move to her platform and cast Seismic Shard a few times. You can easily spot where she's going to throw it, because the ground will 'rumble' at the spot where it will land before she does it.
Finally there is Create Gravity Well. You can't miss them, they are huge blue graphics on the ground. Move out of it, but position yourself in a way that the adds that spawn will have to move through them, because they'll die if they do. This way, you won't have to worry about tanking or killing the adds, because the she kills them for you.

Not a hard fight, good luck on your first attempts on heroic.

Make sure to let the TANK pull the pre-bosss mobs in front of the boss. While they have low HP, they make quick work of any DPS class. The mage in our group pulled when I was AFK. Everyone died but me.

In order to loot her corpse when killed over the altar:

1) Bind a key to "Interact With Target" under Targeting Functions in your key bindings.
2) Get close to the altar and type "/target high".
3) Press the key you just bound.
4) Need/Greed/Disenchant

Black - Void Zone Placement
White - Adds Path

The first thing you'll want to do is start over on the right side of the room because of "Summon Gravity Well". Anyone standing in this gravity well takes damage and is knocked to the center of the void zone. This deals damage to the adds as well, and is why you're making a wall of void zones. During the first phase, waves of adds will come from the right side of the room. Your tank can pick these up if they want, but your dps can just nuke them down otherwise. "Curse of Blood" is also cast throughout the fight and needs to be dispelled. It causes the target to take 5000 increased physical damage and can be deadly if left on the tank too long.

"Energy Shield" is a 50000 damage knockback that is used right before entering phase two. Azil will fly up above the alter and start throwing boulders at your party. These are easy to avoid due to the dust cloud they make on the floor before hitting. During phase two you'll be left to deal with a slew of adds. At this point, you should have a nice wall of void zones for the adds to walk through. Sometimes positioning can be weird and you'll have void zones in strange places, so as a rule of thumb just make you're behind a void zone in such a way that will ensure that the adds run through it. Everytime an add walks through a void zone, it becomes smaller. Because of this, you'll eventually have no void zones and will need to AoE down the adds like normal. After coming down from the alter, you'll enter the first phase again and the fight becomes rinse and repeat until you kill her.

If you have a mage in your group, ask him to blink into the altar. He will be able to loot the boss.

The fight is really quite easy. Trouble is people suck.
These are basic notes to make it easier.

1 - INTERRUPT the force grip. Otherwise you tank is held useless most of the fight.

2 - The adds will primarily go after the healer right away. This means HEALER DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM THE TANK AND/OR PORTALS. See number 4.

3 - PORTALS KILL ADDS. I find an easy way to accomplish this is everyone just stands on the tank, and the tank always positions so the adds will run into portals and die. This works best when you remember number 1 (dont let the tank stay CC'ed by grip).

4 - IT IS VERY HARD, NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE, for the tank to constantly get the adds. YOU MUST HELP HIM. Either by interrpting grip so the tank can do his thing, or by standing so that the adds will run into the portals (especially the healer).

5 - During flying phase the tank has an easier time of things, but you should still stay near him so the adds are easier to pick up.

6 - Too many adds is a wipe. They do hurt, even on tanks, and having 50 million of them up sucks ass.

7 - DECURSE. 5000 extra physical damage on the tank when hes got adds on him too, will kill him fast.

Most groups fail on this boss because they believe that the idea is to kill adds by AoEing them down as fast as possible. This is wrong. The fight is designed so that (at least at current gear levels) it cannot be brute forced through massive DPS and healing.

As others have stated, the holes are our friends. 75% of the time, there is at least one hole up. Everyone, including the healer, must hide behind it to force adds to run through it to you. If adds are too close, run through a hole to get rid of them; if necessary, stay in one for a moment as the damage is healable. If no holes, kite adds around until a hole shows up.

Also emphasize to the group the importance of interrupting Force Grip and decursing, but using holes is the difference between a clean kill and repeated wipes.

This fight seems to be much easier on Heroic than Normal, due to the increased ease with which the Gravity Wells kill the adds. Less room to screw around, but if you do it all right it comes out looking and feeling way cleaner.

While the damage from Seismic Shard is easily survivable on normal, it deals over 600K damage on heroic.

It's still extremely easy to dodge, but it's an inevitability that you'll get a tank or healer that's too slow and/or dumb to run out of it in a random sooner or later.

easiest of the entire dungeon on heroic, as long as force grip in interrupted every time and the group avoids the boulders and gravity wells (which are both easy to avoid.)
You can pretty much ignore the adds since they get killed by gravity wells.

Easy fight, kill her and get your heroic epics.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet but you can also use the boulders to kill the adds, if you kite them around the "rumbling" spots. Usually kills them in one shot unlike the wells that can take a little time. Not to mention the black holes are usually despawned during the altar phase.

Whatever you do don't kill her when she's in midair after she does Seismic Shard. Otherwise you won't be able to loot cause her dead body will be floating up in midair.

Gave us a good laugh when this happened but we are also disappointed we couldn't loot her.

As a healer this fight can be made quite easy if your group mostly ignores the adds. All you have to do is cast a few big heals while gravity wells are down and play a game of "Ring around the giant purple zone of death."

On my last three times I've done this encounter (on heroic), I've noticed a subtle but significant change.

The gravity wells are up a lot less.

There are two factors at play, here. First, the "here comes a well!" animation still happens, but then it fades away without a gravity well appearing. I assume that this is a bug.

Second, the gravity wells get smaller each time they eat a cultist. After they eat several, they disappear.

End result: A lot of the time, you're running around with no gravity wells available.

Because of this, you can't count on the gravity wells to deal with all the cultists. Instead, you have to burn down the leftovers with AoE damage. They have low health, so this is entirely possible.

They always go straight for your healer. Mark the healer with your favorite symbol to make him easy to see. The tank should stay near the healer and pick them up as possible. The other players should kill the cultists first (especially the ones on the healer), and only attack the boss when there aren't any cultists in melee range. Earthbind totems, Ice Traps, and other AoE snares/roots are very handy. Be prepared to clean cultists off hunters, too, as hunters have terrible melee-range AoE attacks.

Also, you still need to interrupt Force Grip and dodge rocks. Do all that, and you win.

If you solo this as a hunter, feign death will cause her to disappear and eventually respawn at full health. IDK if this is the same with all bosses since this is the first time I've ever done it.

I'm about one expansion late with this, but I learned recently that Curse of Blood can be copied via Dark Simulacrum. She can go down very quickly with this, especially if you had a Rogue, Hunter and Warrior for DPS and a fistweaver healing like I did!

This chick was astonishingly easy at 90. After taking out her punks, I landed a charged up Execution on her and things only got better. Sure, she started calling in more punks, but they all went down with one hit - less than one hit, in fact, because my Hammer Of The Righteous could take them all out.

Maybe it was because I was soloing, or because she was on Normal, but this bosses' strength lies in her minions and my AoE wiped them all each time. She's tough to mellee on the Altar but I made use of my Judgement and exorcism, and then my Hammer Of Wrath.
