very good guide, like always ^o^
I understand they cant really have 7 different styles of building sets for each race but I was kinda hoping that the Horde ones looked less like Warcraft 3 buildings and more updated to suit the changing dynamics of the Horde and how it looks.
Image of Archmage Vargoth? I'll get my staff ready...
The Leatherworking building is in. It requires a quest chain dropped from Haraam the Fool. Dirty note.
wow it will be awosome
very nice guide, but about garrisons i`m disappointed about that the horde gets goblin themed workshop for example and can't get blood elf themed mage tower?
These pics are great. Glad my main's Alliance, their Garrison and the buildings are infinitely better looking than Horde's in my opinion.
My Forsaken toon is going to hate the Orc architecture. From what the blue post said it sounds like there is going to be very little customization, I mean we can't even name it what we want. Will friends be able to see our garrison or is it strictly solo? Is that another limitation they put on it?
You can enter your friends garrisons.
Thanks for the Leatherworking tip, I'll have to try it over the weekend and add more pics. There's datamined achievements for visiting a friend's garrison so far, but we haven't heard anything else. The Garrison is normally phased to where only you see it.There's also been some recent tweaks to make a few buildings have nods to various races--like the Engineering workshop is called the Gnomish/Goblin workshop. So maybe we will see more architecture variations in future beta builds, and the Garrisons will look closer to something like Allerian Stronghold, which is one of my favorite areas and has a wide variety of buildings.
With a Garrison, you can access up to four professions due to buildings. Not anymore. Since the small plots were reduced from 4 to 3, that means we only have access to 3 professions assuming we choose all the small buildings to be of professions we don't already have.
Before WoD even was in Beta, and they showed us a lot of sneakpeaks about the new Expansion named WoD.I had read something so epic from another player! He had an Idea about Garrisons, and the NPCs who wander about in ur Garrisons. He said,"So, nearly everyone has those alts who you have gotten to 90 just for professions or are former mains/leveling projects. What if these were included into your garrison as NPC's? All your same faction alts can wander around your garrison doing their own things.Your death knight could be in the inn. A hunter tending to his pets. A warrior training new recruits, or sparring with a training dummy. Your mage studying over a glass of ale in a tower. A druid caring for the garden.Even if they added no bonus, it would make for great aesthetics to see that your characters aren't sitting around and are enjoying themselves even while you aren't playing them."(Said by: Rose - Barthilas US )Secretely I still hope they add this feature!Because that would really make your Garrison feel like a home!, and seeing your alts, doing their thing there!just EPIC!
Thank you guys for all the concentrated information!I have a couple of questions though which I did not read a specific answer for, just hints here and there.First, the buildings. Is there a way to destroy a building to replace it? Or will my decisions be permanent?Second, could you please elaborate some more about the followers? It says in the barracks description it at some point increases the total number of followers by 10. What is the follower cap to begin with? Also, I see the followers have a rarity system. How would that affect a follower? Are legendary followers numbered and named, or will I have a chance of getting a random legendary one from the daily follower I get with the inn? And when I reach the cap, can I fire a follower to allow for him to be replaced? Or are the first X (X being the cap) are the ones you got stuck with? Also, I am assuming alliance players get alliance followers and horde-horde? Yeah, silly and obvious perhaps, but there could be surprises and I'd love a confirmation. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, got tons more I want to know, looking forward to this awesome expansion! If you prefer you could always send me a beta key and I will find my own answers... No one has to know but us... ;-D
A separate bank as a plot option would be amazing. I've been struggling with space for years.

Since the small plots were reduced from 4 to 3, that means we only have access to 3 professions assuming we choose all the small buildings to be of professions we don't already have.I think they meant...No, the ways I think of it, I don't know what they meant.Do they mean "the two primary professions you have, plus garrison buildings for two professions you DON'T have"?Or do they mean "the primary professions yo have, plus mining, herbalism, and skinning (and a supply of cloth)"?
First, the buildings. Is there a way to destroy a building to replace it? Or will my decisions be permanent? One of the tweets mentions tearing down a building and replacing it with another.
Loving it, really cant wait and also.. lol Pleasure bot
We originally wrote part of the guide before the plot reduction was announced earlier this week--so we updated the oversight :)
The Alliance architecture is amazing! I am seriously considering switching my main to Alliance.
The Alliance architecture is amazing! I am seriously considering switching my main to Alliance.I'm still waiting to see anything about the horde garrisons, but sadly, all the focus has been on the alliance one. Both on the blizzard blogs, and on every streamer that is in the beta.Last I heard, it was because there's a bug in the horde garrison that prevents any player from reaching lvls 2 or 3.
