As part of the Trading Card Game, there are three cards in every set that have special codes which can be redeemed for loot! These loot cards vary in rarity--generally there will be a commonly-acquired pet card, a somewhat-rare novelty item, and an extremely-rare mount. The Trading Card Game has ended, so these loot cards are rarer and more expensive over time.

In the final TCG expansion, Reign of Fire, there's a chance for any previous rare TCG loot to appear in card decks. In addition, the odds of seeing a special card have been increased to 1:9 from 1:11.

Redeeming Codes on Cards

To get your item, first you will need to go to WoW's Promotion Page and enter in the 25-digit code found on your actual card (or emailed to you when winning a Wowhead contest for TCG items). This will then give you an in-game code that can be redeemed by Landro Longshot in Booty Bay. This guide, as well as user comments on TCG item pages, lists the name of the expansion and card you must select from Landro Longshot in order to redeem a specific item.

Obtaining Loot

If you're uninterested in testing your luck with random packs of cards, there are alternate ways to get loot cards--for a price. Any specific TCG card can be purchased for RL cash. To find good deals on cards, we recommend checking out WoW TCG Loot, which lists the best eBay options and has a handy Buy It Now feature.

Most mounts and battle pets can also be found on the AH. Players can spend gold to obtain these BoE items (not the actual card or code). Mounts are found under the Miscellaneous AH tab, and Pets under the Battle Pets section. Make sure you don't just search for "Epic" when looking for mounts, as some TCG mounts are rare quality.

For battle pets, the item you get from redeeming a code is BoP, but you are usually able to cage the pet and sell the caged version. To see which TCG items are up on various realms, check out The Undermine Journal. We also show average buyout details, powered by Undermine, on item Quick Facts.

In Warlords of Draenor, several TCG items have been added to the Toy Box. These items are generally BoP and many have been added to the Black Market Auction House, in which you compete with players on your realm to bid up to .

Similar Items

Darkmoon Dancing Bear is the closest model--it's the only other bear mount with light armor. This recolor is brown with a green saddle and glowing Faire icon by its head. It also looks similar to Kolin, the dancing bear at the Faire! Cost: 0 Darkmoon Prize Ticket.

While this mount uses a typical dragon model and has been unfairly compared to the Bronze Drake, the coloration is really quite distinctive with rusted spots, olive mesh details, and velvet-black wings.

There's a similar mount, but it will take you some time to farm. Sea Turtle yields Turtles All the Way Down and can be fished up from any pool in a Wrath or Cataclysm zone. If RNG isn't on your side, you could spend thousands of casts getting this.

Raptors are the official mount of Trolls, so there's numerous other variations with more elaborate types of armor.

In 5.2, players of both factions can get raptor mounts from Isle of Giants. Primal Egg hatches into Cracked Primal Egg which contains Reins of the Black Primal Raptor, Reins of the Green Primal Raptor, or Reins of the Red Primal Raptor (exact duplicate). Players can also farm up Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor with 9999 Giant Dinosaur Bone.

Summoned rack lasts for 3 minutes and can be looted for swords at any time. 30 minute cooldown.

Fool's Gold

Twilight of the Dragons: Fool's Gold

Looks like low-level candle-hungry kobolds.

Item summons a mineral node of fool's gold, which any character can "mine" to get a temporary pet.

The node lasts 5 minutes and has a 30 minute cooldown.

The temporary pets last 10 minutes or until dismissed, replaced, rezoning, or character death.

Pets do not count towards vanity pet total.

When purchasing these tabards from a vendor on eBay, etc. make certain that you are not purchasing UDE Points as UDE Points are no longer redeemable for the tabards (or anything else, for that matter). Check to make sure that you are purchasing an actual item code that is redeemed by visiting Landro Longshot in Booty Bay. Note that the Tabard of Flame comes from a TCG loot card found in the "Heroes of Azeroth" deck and not from redeeming UDE Points. The Tabard of Flame is the cheapest tabard to purchase due to availability; if you are seeing the other tabards listed cheaper beware of a possible scam.

Can someone explain how do you get the "First" code to begin with? This guide starts out with an assumption you have a code to enter in the promo page. I went to Landro and he asked me for a code, soooo how does it all begin?

What stores sell the trading cards currently? Walmart and Target use to stock them but I have not seen them for almost a year now. Could just be my area- not sure.

This guide needs to include warnings over buying TCG mounts like the swift spectral tiger off the auction house. They have a strong reputation for not being the real thing when they're up on the auction house. Just counterfeit duplicated items or something like that. Let me put it to you this way.
It takes hundreds to thousands of dollars on average to pull a spectral tiger card. Wanting to sell a mount that cost you that much money would be a rarity in itself. And not even including that, do you really think most people would spend that kind of money just to sell that spectral tiger for gold ,when they could make goldcap buying and reselling WoWtokens instead for alot less money?

Its not going to be real on the auction house unless we're talking a very serious rare exception that you probably wouldn't be able to get enough proof on to validate its legitimacy anyway.

Other very rare extremely expensive TCG only mounts should be looked into like this so people don't spend their hard earned gold on fakes

I would be interested in seeing links (because no one local stocks them) to some retailers that are selling packs & boxes, rather than only finding people selling at manipulated prices via Amazon/Ebay or "collector" sites.

Vanity items like this were great additions to the game - I wish Blizzard would add more like it, and not by putting them on the store! Loot for defeating in-game bosses would be perfect. Bring back the feeling of a classic RPG game.

way back in the day, 2008/2009~ or something like that probably, did anyone ever happen to see a video on YouTube of a TCG item collection/demonstration, featuring a female night elf going around stormwind showcasing a bunch of loot items with this really carnival/circus sounding music playing the background (might sound like this or whatever https://youtu.be/jMPqrLJgmyE), then jolly roger's lagoon from banjo tooie starts playing (https://youtu.be/MGPncRJWcJc), she hearths to shattrath, and rides around on a (blue maybe?) x-51 nether-rocket, I've been looking for this vid for forever, and was curious if anyone actually saw it back then, knows who uploaded it, still has the url or whatever, etc.
