Blackrock Mountain Blackrock Depths Blackrock Spire Molten Core Lucifron Magmadar Gehennas Garr Shazzrah Baron Geddon Golemagg the Incinerator Sulfuron Harbinger Majordomo Executus Ragnaros Blackwing Lair The Molten Core is located beyond Blackrock Depths, in the deepest part of Blackrock Mountain. It is the home of Ragnaros the Firelord - one of the four elemental lieutenants of the Old Gods - and his elemental minions. Molten Core is a 40-man raid instance, and requires attunement to enter. Entrance Lucifron Magmadar Gehennas Garr Baron Geddon Shazzrah Golemagg the Incinerator Sulfuron Harbinger Majordomo Executus Ragnaros History The Molten Core was created during the War of the Three Hammers, more than 300 years ago. Near the end of the war, Thaurissan, the leader of the Dark Iron Dwarves, sought to summon a powerful fire elemental to defeat the combined forces of the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans. He was more successful than he could have imagined, as he released Ragnaros from millenia of captivity under the Redridge Mountains. Ragnaros destroyed the city of Thaurissan (named after the Dwarven leader) and created the volcano of Blackrock Spire. He dwells there to this day with his elemental servants and the enslaved remnants of the Dark Iron dwarf clan. Notable Loot All bosses up to Golemagg drop pieces of the Tier 1 Raid Set. Ragnaros drops the leg pieces only of the Tier 2 Raid Set. Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is forged from the three main pieces found in Molten Core, along with Elementium Ore found in Blackwing Lair. After the pieces are collected for the quest Thunderaan the Windseeker, players who have gone the lengths to collect these items will participate in an event in Silithus whereafter they will receive their Thunderfury. Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros is created from the fusion of Ragnaros's rare drop, Eye of Sulfuras, and the crafted Sulfuron Hammer. Crafting a Sulfuron Hammer requires eight Sulfuron Ingot from Golemagg, along with many other materials.
