Leggings of the Black Blizzard (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=21461#z0z), which drop off Ossirian (last boss in AQ20) are better than these, and in most cases easier to obtain.
Also since most guilds do not use DKP for 20 man's, You should get Leggings of the Black Blizzard over these and save yourself DKP.

I've just written a mod for people who have 8/8 Netherwind which you can use to spam and it will automatically cast Fireball (and soon Pyroblast) if you proc Netherwind Focus. Check it out, and tell me what you think:

and tanks with good FR gear ll make it easely!

for the sons:

frost trap some and tanks need 2 come pick them up
mages frost nova and ppl start dps 1 by 1 them down

easy fight personnally i think Bloodlord and Hakkar are harder!
and Onyx 2 because ppl need 2 focus mutch more then with ragy, with ragy it s just NUKE!

As the mage next in line DKP-wise for these pants, do I use my Lesser Arcanum of Resiliance, or go for the ZG enchant?

Be aware, my GM absolutely refuses casters flarecore, so the pants are very, very, very unlikely to be coming my way.

No Stamina. Those leggings are crap. I would rather have a pair of blue Spiritshroud Leggings which drop off The Beast in UBRS. Or Skullsmoke Pants from Scholomance.

And the Skullsmoke ones are really nice too, I might add. I have both but I took the +4 int, +14 spirit, slightly higher resists and +36 arcane damage to final tier arcane spells over the +6 sta.

The new patch will change all of this.

Netherwind Pants:
Old Stats: 26 int, 27 spi, 8 agi, 3 nature / 17 frost resist, +27 frost dmg
New Stats: 16 sta, 27 int, 17 spi, 10 arcane / fire resist, +30 all spell damage

Easily the best mage pants in the game.

Does anyone else think that the base stats, stamina and intellect, seem a bit low for a tier two epic set?
Sure the spell damage is nice, but the base stats seem weak.

My guild is having major problems with the drop rate of this item. We have disenchant almost every other class's tier 2 pants (after taking ragnaros for 5-6 months now) and still have only had 2 NW pants dropped, is this is a bug? Does anyone else suffer this problem?

31 arcane/20 fire mage. I despise Arcanist, don't want a single piece; don't care for most of Netherwind. But these pants, even pre-1.9, just blow everything else away for mages. I got mine this week from Ragnaros and love them to death! Can't wait for the patch update on them too.

We've downed Rag 3 times now, and I still haven't seen these drop. Even if they did, the only other piece to the set I can get (which I have) is the crown, until the new content is released.

But besides this, most of you are complaining about how there's no stam on these. Both the tier 1 and tier 2 Mage sets are mainly pve armor sets (Arcanist especially), and mages don't want them for their individual piece stat bonuses. The set bonuses is where Arcanist and Netherwind shine. Especially the 8-piece Netherwind.

If these ever drop off Rag for us, heck ya I'd take em.
